As already said, you would be better off just buying bitcoin with your spare money, there's plenty of ways to earn bitcoins (paid sigs/offering services etc). Mining's not really worth it unless you can afford to buy some decent mining rig.
942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: day trading - what's the catch? on: July 08, 2014, 09:28:29 AM
The catch is potentially losing a shitload of bitcoin. I only trade what I can afford to lose, sometimes invested in the right alt currency at the right time (though i've lost a couple of btc buying into several shitcoins).
943  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should the government "erase" the student debt? on: July 02, 2014, 04:12:56 PM
Sounds good to me, don't think anybody should have to pay for their own education.

The price of education in the United States is too high, leaving people unable to study without having a ridiculous debt, but having the state take care of all of the student's education bills can create even more problems. Imho, paying for educations makes the student give more value to his efforts, and it's a good incitative for him not to fail his classes or take more years of university than necessary.

Canada's system seems fine, where the student pays about 25% of his tuition fees.
The rest is paid by the state as an investment to get a population which has a better intellectual value.
Yeah I agree it can give students more incentive to study hard if you have to pay student fees,  but that's assuming they'll have the money or potential future earning to pay off the debt.

And the execution the Teabaggers offer is, as we know, pretty moronic. Americans want limited government, yes, but they don't define "limited" as "allowing the corporations to poison our water supply."

Doesn't help when you have teabaggers like Michelle Bachmann calling for smaller government when her own family has benefited from government aid  Grin

A counseling clinic run by her husband has received nearly $30,000 from the state of Minnesota whilst her family farm in Wisconsin received nearly $260,000 in federal farm subsidies.

Probably already been said but be wary of installing wallets for new alt-currencies, I've heard of at least two wallets with keyloggers. Also make sure to download from official websites and not random links posted up on the forum.
Would you mind sharing a little bit details? I have tried to search with Google but got no results.

The Tradercoin wallet contained a keylogger/trojan:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317201.0

"Carefull this newly released coin seems to contain a virus or keylogger -
It creates the a fake crss file in the C:\Users\acer\AppData\Local\Temp\crss.exe
then creates the following registry directory too:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\MXsound
The process is then found in msconfig under the name MXsound (crss.exe)"
946  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips on increasing my TRUST level on bitcointalk? on: July 02, 2014, 03:41:03 PM
Takes a lot of time to build up trust levels, there's been so many scams including several hero member users on this forum.

I always check users trust feedback to get a general idea of their trustworthiness

949  Other / Politics & Society / Venezuela protests are sign that US wants our oil, says Nicolás Maduro on: July 02, 2014, 02:41:33 PM

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/apr/08/venezuela-protests-sign-us-wants-oil-says-nicolas-maduro

Venezuela's president has accused the US of using continuing street protests to attempt a "slow-motion" Ukraine-style coup against his government and "get their hands on Venezuelan oil".

"They try to increase economic problems through an economic war to cut the supplies of basic goods and boost an artificial inflation", Maduro said. "To create social discontent and violence, to portray a country in flames, which could lead them to justify international isolation and even foreign intervention."

Maduro's allegations follow last week's revelation that USAid covertly funded a social media website to foment political unrest and encourage "flash mobs" in Venezuela's ally Cuba under the cover of "development assistance".

Pointing to the large increases in social provision and reduction in inequality over the past decade and a half, Maduro said: "When I was a union leader there wasn't a single programme to protect the education, health, housing and salaries of the workers. It was the reign of savage capitalism. Today in Venezuela, the working class is in power: it's the country where the rich protest and the poor celebrate their social wellbeing".
950  Other / Off-topic / Re: What type of gamer are you? on: July 02, 2014, 12:00:12 PM
I like RPGs and co-op multiplayer games like L4D2. Also enjoy playing on emulators of old consoles/computers, they used to make crazy games back in the day.
951  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite gaming platform? (current-gen) on: July 02, 2014, 11:56:05 AM
PC without doubt, find it much easier using a keyboard/mouse than a controller.

Oldschool console wise I like the original NES and Atari Jaguar  Grin

955  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to transfer my BTC into cash? on: June 23, 2014, 01:55:55 PM
As said above, Localbitcoins is by far the quickest way (as far as I know) for selling BTC for fiat. Just find a buyer who's pays with online bank transfer, should get the cash paid into your account within the hour.

Anybody know when it'll be released?

959  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you like turtles? on: June 20, 2014, 02:33:44 PM
I have turtles in my pond they are so many now. They are fun to watch.

Turtles can be fast when they want to be fast.

This one is a super turtle (more of Road Runner Than a turtle though) . with that speed it would make a good runner in the 100 meter race in Olympics. Go Turtle!!

LOL! Nice

lol I love it how the turtle slowly turns then speeds off down the slope like a maniac.

He says he will design a free logo and once you send the payment, he doesnt reply and changes his nick and comes from another one.

Why would you send payment for a free logo?
