The Marijuana industry will not be using any of these coins or any cryptocurrency for that matter for sales transactions. At least not in the United States and I'll tell you why.
Currently there are no banks that will deal with the Marijuana businesses in the United States because although it might be legal at the state level in some states it's still a schedule 1 controlled substance under federal law. Because of that the banks will not conduct business with the dispensaries operating in states like Colorado, Washington, and Oregon. These dispensaries deal strictly in cash because they do not have access to banking. Just what are they going to do with a cryptocurrency that they will need to convert to bitcoin and then cash? There is no avenue for them to convert cryptocurrency to cash because they do not have access to banking services. Until these businesses have some method of converting cryptocurrency into cash they will not be accepting them for transactions.
I have been to dispensaries in Colorado and Washington and they are doing a robust business. I don't think that they will complicate their business model by adding a payment that would just add to the legal and financial maze that they are already dealing with.
I'm not making any judgement on any of these coins. It's the concept that the marijuana industry in the United States will adopt a cryptocurrency anytime soon that is faulty.
Hey Shojayxt. I get what you are saying. It is illegal under federal law currently this is true. I just think at some point those restrictions will be lifted and 'weedcoins' and Bitcoin will be poised to strike. We are working on a merchant platform that will automatically convert so theoretically that can act like the 'bank' so to speak. The reason they will add crypto is because of the digital ease of it . Just like Bitcoin has made payments so easy , there will be niche coins to fill this need for Cannabis. Good debate ShoJayxt. I just sent cryptsy a ticket... and have been complaining in the troll box once and awhile too.
they do this lots to many coins, they said they were going to finally get the AC wallet up and running for us again... weeks later still nothing Lol a game of patience indeed

More advertising I suppose , you have to offer something that other people or other coins dosen't offer . For example you could do giveaways for DopeCoin or do like HYPER DO , they offer HYPER for people who play on their servers for few games (CS:GO , Rust , etc ... ) . Simply give people a reason to explore your coin .
Thanks OmegaStarScream for that advise. I agree advertising is key. I've done giveaways in the past maybe I should bring them back true. Ya, games is a good way to do it. We used to have poker and texas style hold'em so you are right about that. Thanks for the response. |

DopeCoin (early) End of the month Report ( 08/31/15 ) We do have some things in motion and sorry for the lack of updates as life issues came about! even for DopeCoindude
- First, we are working with Pastafarian( Sativa Coin ) on an exchange he is building for 'weedcoins'. Working out what part DopeCoin can play in it besides being on it.
- Secondly, we are going to have a news article posted soon on a fairly well known publication about our history as a coin and where we are going with this coin. This should drive some new attention to DOPE.
- Thirdly, our own dispensary is on hold for the moment as some things have come up with the individuals involved ( getting funding to do move etc.,etc ) ,but we'll
figure out a way to do this eventually. - Fourthly, we are working on getting on https://www.cryptopia.co.nz as suggested by a community member .
- Finally, this is our most exciting announcement and one we’ve been working so hard this year on getting is we are working out details to ‘peg’ DOPE to a grow supply. It will be fully auditable via pictures/videos and have its own strain/seed. We are going to run a blog showing all this throughout the process. More details are forthcoming but this was on of the bigger goals we sought out this year to do and we are close to do doing it!
edit: we've expanded this to any 'grow operation' so the model will be a 'network of grow operations' . We’ve talked about having the following done and it’s still in play:- Encryption/ Anon. features are to be looked at and integrated.
- Getting on Coinami. This is very doable as they have guidelines now for anyone to do it. Although if you read below the white-labeled solution could serve as a tablet wallet
Question for the community…For the white-labeled Merchant platform which would be like this but under the DopeCoin brand: Carbonshopper.com . The costs for installation and hosting is a total of $13 a mo. I didn’t know if the community would like to chip in some DOPE to help get this up and working. I have plenty of merchants that would want to sell items for DOPE. I figured as a community we could really get things moving fast. I figured if everyone has skin the game we all benefit. I'll put in $5 bucks a mo. worth of Dope. We can even charge a small fee and this can be given back as a dividended to stakeholders ( or, have it go into development of DopeCoin up to you ) If others want to contribute please let me know and I'll start a tally here.
