941  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin offline wallet suggestion on: May 22, 2020, 08:08:19 AM
Choosing the best cryptocurrency is really important for every person in the crypto world. It will make our money safe from hackers. The offline wallet is the best wallet to use compared to other wallets.

Choosing the best crypto wallet for you will depend on you, if you are holding many different cryptocurrencies, you may use the Trezor, I suggest Trezor as the best offline wallet, I've been using this wallet for almost  5 years and good thing is that I don't have any experience about hacking.
942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No matter what you plan to do with your account. I think you should wisely. on: May 21, 2020, 10:38:11 AM
Great thread as a beginner, we should do something to make us more familiar in this forum, if we can do something to do it, let's do it, we can do many things to answers all of our questions on our mind. There is a search engine above if we want to know something, just like what the OP has done, I think he had used the search engine so he found those informative threads.
If you don't find answers to your questions then that is the time for us to ask for it.
943  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin price drops is a buying opportunity? on: May 21, 2020, 10:15:38 AM
Yes, I think so but let's just wait for the bitcoin to drops down again, just like me I am always waiting for the bitcoin to reach below $8000 before buying it, it is a win-win situation for me. There are still many possible things that might happen better to just wait first and observe always the graph of the market Wink.
944  Other / Off-topic / Protect your personal data: How hackers steal your data. on: May 20, 2020, 11:03:12 AM
How hackers attack your account.

There are many ways that hackers are using to access other's accounts. I just wanna share with all of you guys so you would know if someone is trying to hack your account.

6 ways of hacking:
1. Phishing - it is a fake email act as a legitimate, they tend to create phishing emails with the intention of stealing your personal information such as your personal data, bank accounts, wallet accounts, etc. They tend to create a panic on the person for example they say that there is a problem in your bank account and you should input all your information to the specific website to fix the problem.

How to stay safe:
* Always check the grammar and spelling.
* Think twice before clicking the links.
* Hackers tend to say some problems on your bank accounts, be wise and always assess the situation

2. Malware - it simply means malicious software on your device with the intention of stealing your data as well. These programs can perform a variety of functions some of which include stealing or deleting sensitive data, modifying the system’s core functionalities, and secretly tracking the victim’s activities.

How to stay safe:
* Always use a legitimate antivirus
* Do not download a fake application
* Keep your system updated.

3. Malicious mobile application - not all applications in the play store are legit. Some of these apps may contain malicious code that can put your privacy at risk. The application may give malware on your device that can be used by hackers to steam your data.

How to stay safe:
* Check the reviews of the application
* Always read the permission before downloading
* Do not download third-party app stores.

4. Smishing - It is somehow related to phishing which tries to trick you through the use of private messages via phone calls and SMS messages. They tend to get your trust and then when they know that they already get your trust, they mask some of your personal information.

How to stay safe:
* Do not share your some important information of yours
* Always keep your personal data private (contact info)

5. Physical security threats - it simply means a threat from your personal information from other people having direct access to it. It happens when someone physically gains access to your device.

How to stay safe:
* Be careful when storing your personal data
* Do not leave your phone unlocked
* Make sure to have a proper backup

6. Insecure networks - it happens when you connect your device to other internets, such as open WiFi. It creates a possibility of accessing your personal information.

How to keep safe:
* Do not connect on free WiFi if you are going to have bank transactions
* Never connect on free WiFi that you cannot trust.

Be knowledgeable about something that may give threats in our personal information, it's our assets and this should not be stolen by anyone Wink.
945  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good topics on security and privacy on: May 20, 2020, 09:24:02 AM
Nice thread, as of this community quarantine, we should make something productive. Securing our wallet is really important, it will make our accounts away from hackers. Those wallet that is not well secured are prone from attacks that is why there are many wallets that have been stolen by the hackers because of having lack of securities.

946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / An inspirational story of a 19 year old boy. on: May 19, 2020, 11:27:27 AM
We all have our own achievement with regards to bitcoin but I really inspired with the 19-year-old boy who gets rich by his young age. It is really something to be proud of being a millionaire at the age of 19.

Most of us have at least $1000 in our savings account, it sounds so normal but the young boy makes it enough to become a millionaire someday, it is enough to invest in cryptocurrency.

At the age of 12, the boy received $1000 from her mother as a gift and he used it to buy bitcoin and how he became a millionaire. He currently owns 401 bitcoins, which equals $3.4 million at a rate of $8,512 a coin.

This sounds so good, hoping that we feel the same way, most of us dream to be a millionaire or even billionaire someday, praying and wishing that it all come true someday, it takes time and experience to become one of those people. Just be patient and keep dreaming Cheesy.

PS: I don't know what happens to the source link, I already edited it many times and it ends up like that.
PS: I just saved it to google drive so you can still visit the link if you want Cheesy.

948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does Gambling really mean to you? on: May 18, 2020, 05:08:08 PM
This is plagiarism, you should post the source link whenever you took from other people opinion/definition/content. Even if you have mention the source, you also should post the source link too [Dictionary] , [Gambling Comission]
How could you tell it as plagiarism if I didnt use any source from google on that part. Its may own definition of gambling and not on that link. Yes, its somehow the same but I didnt get it from that link. Its my own opinion about what gambling is.
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / What does Gambling really mean to you? on: May 18, 2020, 10:39:25 AM
Are you a gambler? Do you really know what gambling is?
From Dictionary:
* it is the activity or practice of playing at a game of chance for money or other stakes.
* the act or practice of risking the loss of something important by taking a chance or acting recklessly.

From Gambling Comission
* In the Gambling Act 2005 gambling is defined as betting, gaming or participating in a lottery. That definition distinguishes between activities which need to be licensed and other activities which do not.

We categorise different gambling activities into what we call sectors:

1. Arcades (those for adults and those for families)
2. Betting (online, at an event or in a high street bookmakers)
3. Bingo (online or in a bingo hall)
4. Casino (online or in a casino)
5. Lotteries (raffles, tombolas, sweepstakes etc)
6. Gaming machines (fruit machines, fixed odds betting terminals, etc)

From personal experience of mine
* Gambling for me is something you have the chance of winning the prize or any value, if there is no chance then you're not gambling. Gambling requires that there is a chance you might win something for your bet.
* Gambling also considered as a way source of income, there are many gamblers who tend to play because of earning money but the sad part of it is when you tend to play for money but going out having a lack of money.
* Gambling also considered a way of entertainment, there are many people who play gamble just only for entertainment or to kill boredom, it is more fun when you play with your friends.
* Some also considered gambling as a threat, once you become addicted to gambling there are many things that could change, you may lose control, you may forget some of the responsibilities of yours, as a parent, as a child, as wife or husband, etc.
The worst thing is that you may lose all of your property and can cause depression on you.

1. I wanna ask you guys are there any other definitions for you about what gambling is?
2. What are/is the accurate definition of gambling on you based on the definition above?

951  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for good trading on: May 17, 2020, 09:35:30 AM
Thanks for all the well appreciation guys, it feels so great reading those replies, it seems like I created a good one Cheesy
952  Economy / Trading Discussion / Tips for good trading on: May 17, 2020, 07:13:26 AM
I have seen many questions about how they are going to be a professional trader, so I just wanna share my experience, I am not a professional trader but I just wanna share some of my experiences and way of thinking in trading.

1. Trade at your own risk - You should know that investing, gambling and trading is somehow the same because you are not sure that you could win the prize, so expect that you could win and you could lose your money.
2. Limit your budget - always limit your budget for trading, you should use only those extra money you have, instead of spending it on some other things, you may use it for trading, at least you made something to make it profitable.
3. Do not be greedy - There are many people who suffered from being greedy, they tend to spend all their money because of thinking that they could still make more money but instead of earning they have lost their money. ALWAYS KNOW WHEN TO STOP AND CONTINUE TO TRADE.
4. Learn from your own mistake - Instead of being sad because of losing try to think on some other thing why you get lost and think some good strategies to overcome those mistakes.

Some good tips from google:
5. Check the ticker symbol - Ticker symbols are not universal and may vary from exchange to exchange in rare cases. Those cases, though, can come back to bite you. For example, Bitcoin Cash trades on some exchanges as BCH, while it trades on others as BCC. BCC is also the ticker symbol for BitConnect, which was recently outed as a Ponzi Scheme. If you bought BCC under the impression was Bitcoin Cash, you would’ve lost a lot of money.
6. Pay attention to the bitcoin - Most altcoins (every cryptocurrency except Bitcoin) are pegged more closely to Bitcoin than Asian currencies were to the USD during the Asian Financial Crisis. If Bitcoin price pump drastically, altcoins price can go down as people try to exit altcoins to ride the BTC profits; inversely, if Bitcoin prices dump drastically, altcoin prices can go down, too, as people exit altcoins to exchange back into fiat. The best times for altcoin growth appear when Bitcoin shows organic growth or decline or remains stagnant in price.

Trading is really profitable ways of earning money and having skills and knowledge about it would be a great advantage for you.
953  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Bitcointalk.org on: May 17, 2020, 06:30:07 AM
Hello, I am also a beginner in this forum, welcome here.
Without searching answered on google for me, bitcointalk is really great source of information about the cryptocurrency and the blockchain, there are so many information with regards to those both things. If you are going to explore and read some contents posted in different boards you will see how great and how blessed this forum with information about the crypto world.

Before minding on how are you going to earn money here, you should take a look first with the guidelines and rules of this forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Co-beginner in this forum? Read this! on: May 16, 2020, 09:46:34 AM
so why isolate these members from the community? If one wants to register solely for posting on Off-topic boards, why isolate them?
That is not what I mean, I don't blame those people who are having threads on off topic or those people who want to buy and sell bitcoin, my points is that most of the people who are here for selling and buying bitcoins only are mostly not interested on merits. They are only here for personal purposes. Don't get me wrong on that part.
955  Other / Beginners & Help / Co-beginner in this forum? Read this! on: May 16, 2020, 07:47:52 AM
Based on what I have read on some other threads, creating useful and creative posts could be the reason of gaining the merit and merit is really important because it shows how good are we in this forum, the higher the merit the better, it requires knowledge and experience to get more merits. Merits will be sent for only deserving people here.

So I realized something why other people here do not create useful posts.
1. They are only here because of their own purposes, buying or selling bitcoin, getting into bounties, and asking some personal issues.
- if that is the case, then we cannot do something to help them to improve in this forum because of their personal reasons why they are here.
2. They don't know what and how to start, they don't know how to create a useful one.
- I suggest that you should read first some useful posts here in this forum, this board is really good for the beginners because most of the information needed by the beginners is here.

Reading is really a great way to gain knowledge in every aspect, if you want to be more familiar in this forum kindly rest yourself and have time on reading great posts in this forum, if you want to ask something try to use the search engine above and type the keywords of it.

Creating helpful threads will benefit both sides, we help other people by gaining knowledge upon reading your threads and it will also benefit ourselves by getting merits and getting feedback by others as well.

Here are the helpful threads about the forum.
This is the very important thread that a beginner should read, we should know the rules and the guidelines of every forum that we are joining.

I think this should be placed in the gambling discussion.

Anyway, nice thread mate, all of the gamblers really need is one. We should be the one who is responsible for our current situation as a gambler. If we have feeling that we are getting addicted on it then we should make something to prevent it. There are some consultants we can have to ask for help on it. There are already given websites and calling number that the OP has started and all of it are legit.

So what are you waiting for, if you are getting war on your friends and family because of you getting addicted on gambling then I think you should follow what OP' said. It would be great if you will make an action to stop it.
Thanks for giving advise @KrisAlex, I thought I can create my thread and posted it in any boards in this forum Grin

958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The One Biggest Lesson you've learnt from Bitcoins Investment on: May 15, 2020, 08:04:01 AM
One of the biggest lessons for me is to grab the opportunity.

I am always investing and I want the price of bitcoin to go down too low before I invest, for example when the price of the bitcoi. reaches $6,000 I will not still invest because I am thinking that it would go lower, then the next day it reaches $5000 but I will not still invest because of thinking to if goes lower but in the next another day it goes up and back to $6000 so I get sad but I am still hoping that it would go down, but it goes up again and in the end, I didn't invest because it is now high.
959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lockdown and eCommerce and increase in online payments = Bitcoin addoption on: May 15, 2020, 07:38:00 AM
Online payments or the online transactions would be more used in a different countries as of now because we are still now under quarantine that is why we should not go outside, but we still need something to do in our life even though we're in quarantine. So having online transactions would be better now for us to continue some of our stuff.

This should happen so that our needs and wants can still be processed. That is why technology is really used all over the world, technology keeps evolving so we should do something to be in from it.
960  Economy / Gambling discussion / GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 14, 2020, 09:16:47 AM
Updated 05-27-2020
As we are now under community quarantine because of this pandemic virus, we tend to play online games to lessen the boredom we feel at our home, so I wanna know your preference on choosing what gamble to play.

There are two types of gambling for me, the skill-based and the chance-based.
1. Skill-based - these are gambling that requires our skills and techniques for us to win, such as playing poker, betting on races, and playing blackjack but the odds of winning are still different for people and it is always in favor of the owner of the gambling.
Poker
Blackjack
Pai Gow
Texas Shootout
Horse Race Betting
Sports Betting
2. Chance-based - these are gambling that you will only wait for the result, you don't need to do something or to think so deep for you to win because all of you have an equal chance of winning such as roulette, lottery, and other gaming machines.
Casino games:

Slot machines
Progressive bonuses
Bingo
Roulette
Sic Bo
Baccarat

Lottery products:
50/50 raffles
Pull-tabs
Scratch’n win tickets
6/49
BC/49
Lotto Max
Keno
Pacific Hold’em
Source: https://www.bcresponsiblegambling.ca/understanding-gambling/types-gambling

For me, I will choose the skill-based gambling because I am not hoping for the luck of life, I want to take action to make my life great. It is still better to think logically and analytically at any time.

But if you are only a beginner, I think the chance-based gambling would be suitable for you, but do not stick only on that, you should improve yourself, acquire skills and knowledge through experience so you will be able to play skill-based gambling soon.
