941  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: December 10, 2015, 07:44:06 PM
Site has gone down 3 times on me and now is unavailable to connect to.  Pretty frustrating always losing several bits because of the site's connection.  If I played small bet games it wouldn't matter, but I end up giving freerolls and disconnects with OFC costing me an average of ~$100 every goddamn time.

946  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Business Auction] BetterBets.io Bitcoin Casino and games. on: December 08, 2015, 03:44:42 PM
Please note this auction has nothing to do with the new Moneypot purchase, they are fantastic people and we feel that BetterBets will strongly benefit from their new marketing and ownership. We simply cannot handle the workload of multiple businesses and BetterBets will benefit from a new owner. The option to take BetterBets on a private bankroll though still exists to the winning bidders as our code was originally designed to be a standalone casino.

948  Economy / Gambling / Re: Causes of gambling for some poeple? on: December 07, 2015, 10:48:46 PM
Guys what do you think for you that what cab be causes of the gambling?

My wife and her family broke(poor) in this gambling because my wife addicted on some gambling
called binggo, she's addicted in that game and she can't control by her parents and also her house and lot sold
to use it to play binggo again.. but still lost it..
For now she is still suffer about this and looking for another way to get it back all her losses...

sorry to hear that, that's a very sad story, bingo has very low expected return, which means very high house edges, unless a very very few lucky guys who can win the jackpot, ordinary people don't have luck on it. if she likes betting on sports betting or blackjack, that's will be a different story, maybe she will be rich from sports betting or blackjack
Yeah i agree with you but she's addicted in binggo and even a i explain it much. it will not work..
maybe someday she can realize what her doing before.. and someday she realize that the money is important in our life..

To overcome compulsive gambling is not an easy task.

However, if you're willing to really take a step forward... Get informed on what addiction and what the roots of compulsive gambling are. Try to understand it, rid yourself of any judgements and ultimately be there for her in more than just a physical and emotional place, then I believe you have a real shot of breaking through to her.

There should be addiction counseling available nearby in your area.  Your best first step might be to seek out these services with an open mind and really listen to what they say when you explain your situation.

As to answer your topic question, people gamble for numerous reasons.  Some of the most troubled gamblers have underlying negative feelings, thoughts, and emotions that they may or may not be aware of buried deep inside them.  The body and mind have incredible defense mechanisms that try to protect us from ourselves and unfortunately the feeling of winning drastically affects the serotonin and dopamine in the brain which may be unbalanced due to these feelings/thoughts/emotions.  Sometimes our body craves this shift so much in an order to feel more balanced that it goes unfiltered by our thoughts and morality compass and that's when the addiction truly kicks in.

Gambling is very misunderstood.  There is a ton of misinformation and you will hear many uninformed opinions on the subject.

It can be a great source of entertainment and fun, but can also be a source of ruin and despair.  It's not as simple as just choosing to gamble.  It's a very complicated issue and you won't be able to fix it overnight.  It will take a ton of time, devotion, and support.  It definitely WON'T be easy.

I wish you all the very best.

I believe the team account is right in that we're getting a little side tracked in this thread.

It is of my personal opinion that Dean is a completely trustworthy person and I have no reason to believe that the funds are anything but secure in his hands. I am aware of some of the tension between him and a select few bitcointalk users.  I make no judgements of him outside of our business dealings in which he's always maintained class and composure.

I believe that his good standing record with PocketRocketsCasino puts him on the same level (not above or below) as other trusted major dice site operators and that there is no direct competition or ill will against any of the other sites.

My only hope is that the words in this thread are not misconstrued.  Hypothetical situations, assumptions, and 'what-ifs' tend to steer away from facts and viable information -- I believe as a respectable community, we can move past these.

Many members have attested to the credibility of Dean himself, including the highly respected Dooglus and I believe that the readers can take these pieces of information to gather an informed decision on whether or not Dean and the Moneypot Team have the highest regard for security, fairness, and equality for all.

I'm sure the Moneypot team is happy to address any valid questions and concerns here in the thread, and leave personal hearsay or opinions to personal messages so that everyone can receive clear and concise answers in a suitable form.

Cheers Smiley
