941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 16, 2014, 03:33:58 PM

200 chips = 5400 US$, it's 27 US$ per chip, or 108 US$ per four chips in one Jupiter. "We sell these chips in sets of 200, for a considerably lower sum than we paid for them ourselves". Don't know how they define "considerably less", but it may be something like they've paid 110-150 US$ for four chips per Jupiter. Remind me again what were those Jupiters priced?

I am interested to buy one for me as miners geek souvenir. Anyone knows something about a groupbuy?
942  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: August 16, 2014, 11:02:34 AM
Interesting article and claims I think the guy isn't very intelligent though.

I don't see the dollar coming to an end for at least another 70+ years.  The claims the guy making are based on history which isn't a terrible thing to base it on.  But judging from 70 years ago today the world is a completely different place and anything related to money then holds little value to what we have today.

not the dollar. its dominance, because of the other strong currencies. its also not saying that its the end of the dollar
943  Economy / Economics / Re: PB mining, Ponzi or Succesfull Business on: August 15, 2014, 07:20:33 PM
you should put that topic into mining section.

in my opinion let me say it this way:
I dont think pre-orders are fair for you as customer, because you have the risk of the project get done, but getting nothing from the gain of the company, so I am NOT doing it.

If you think its not fair running a mining company without giving any information to their customer as, who is behind the operation, who is the owner, where is it situated, how is the data center looking, then be honest to yourself and DONT support this companys. Do something for a change. When customers not more buying their products they will consider being more open.

one more update:

as there are zero trading fees at the chinese markets, therefor they are having huge market volume. you should consider analysing spread and market depth. Not misleading, and the most relevant to trading.
945  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HOW TO MINE FOR FREE OR ATLEAST ON THE CHEAP (LEGALLY) on: August 15, 2014, 01:31:00 PM
Well we had Tesla's magnetic generator but the government took it away from the people so oil companies can make a fortune...DEMOCRACY!

how do they know, you had one?

http://coinchoose.com/

also great for seeing coin profitability 'at a glance'

today it has wrong data: ftc profitability 150% of ltc, because of wrong difficulty. stated on the page is 79, in reality about 330.

p.e. ghash.io or multipool.com is good to compare profitability of scrypt or sha.

Just another conspiracy theory.

In truth, no one is in control of the system. The ruling elite fear the mob as much as you fear the criminal.

when you believe in god you are more week to thing there is one group controlling anything. empiristic that a wrong conclusion, because there are always happenings changing the worldhistory by new players etc.

dont waste time on esotherik BS. go for rationality!
949  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is a hot target for criminals and money launderers. on: August 15, 2014, 07:59:06 AM
The drug trade is estimated to be worth $400 Bn a year. What portion do you think is conducted through bitcoins?
Probably a small amount as a percentage, but larger then the percentage that the BTC market cap is verses the dollar.

What is more important here is the comparison between the drug trade amount effected in each currency relative to the total supply of this currency (perhaps, this is what you meant to say). And this comparison wouldn't be in favor of Bitcoin, as I can guess.
I would think this stat would likely make bitcoin look very bad. With that being said I think the overall percentage of drug and illegal related trade is still very low when compared to legit trade, and the illegal trade can be fought with law enforcement.

Yes, you are probably right, but we also shouldn't fail to consider that what you call "legit trade" primarily consists of speculation and online casinos' transactions.
With more merchants starting to accept bitcoin, legit trade is starting to consist of more things like computers, satellite TV service and household goods. This is a trend that will likely continue until the vast majority of bitcoin related trade is similar to the kind of trade you have at a shopping mall.

on every 2000 dollars spend in creditcard 1 dollar is stolen by thiefs. just an idea that cc system is as well week. numbers for cahs?
950  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism? on: August 15, 2014, 07:57:29 AM
Hey everyone. In today's developed world where we have glasses that can access the internet and robots that can think on their own, it is a shame that there are still people in parts of the world living under 1$ a day.
What can governments do to end poverty in their countries? Is a solution possible under capitalism? Or did Karl Marx had the right idea with his recommendation of a socialist government?

there is no general solution for the problem poverty. this topic has been discussed general and sophisticated in the 18th 19th century. the solution is that  everyone can fight everyday against it by being productive or not

socialists an capitalist are always supporting what is good for them. see europe politics in the 80es, 90es etc. you can vote how to distribute the money. you xan imagine by yourself what party will deside for what. whats new since the 90es and missing here is the enviromentist, whos saying its better for us spending money preventing enviroment destruction.politics is all about geting power to get your ideals supported.
951  Economy / Economics / Re: STOP SELLING NOW!! URGENT CALL TO BITSTAMPERS AROUND THE WORLD on: August 15, 2014, 07:49:52 AM
Sellers!

People i know that some of you are behind this wild selling. But I would like to point to you that we still have a lot of ways to go with bitcoin. And selling at this point would only make the road tardier. We have a goal, to jump 1,000 dollars and beyond. This is my dreams and yours, we have a dream people. If you sell now at these prices you would be giving up on that dream.

Surely this selling has got to stop, it's confusion. I know it's everyone on it's own, and that it's a free market full of competition, but let's unite for a common goal. This common goal which is of us all. No is a powerful word, say NO to selling at these prices, refuse. If we all unanimously refuse, if we all stand resolute at this hour of adversity we'll bring value back into bitcoin.

To buyers

You have to protest, protest against this market, set your buy orders high, high into the sky, up at 2,000 and above, refuse to buy any lower, show the market that bitcoin has more value than this and that you are ready to pay great sums, take one for the community. This attitude of cannibalizing on others fears and feeding on others angsts hinders bitcoin's growth.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

It is supply and demand. We do not listen to "your demands" by supplying our bitcoins. We do what we want. Please don't say these weird posts by saying we should all hold and blah blah. It iwll never happen quit having pipe dreams and this is exactly what bitcoin is against. COLLUSION is never the answers, STOP TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO COLLUDE.

i agree.

-due to the high inflation of the bitcoin its very hard to have a stable uptrend.
-without volatility we can not go up or down. its all about technical analyses.

you could write a letter to satoshi to stop releasing so much new coins.
952  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin-trader.biz on: August 15, 2014, 07:32:01 AM
looking at the results the curve is broken in the two time periods, before April and after April

they are saying they opened a new office in china and hired two new trader for implementing chinese exchanges in their system. the result of that, they claimed were flater results and less negative trading results. that could be the explanation for that and not a secret at all.
953  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Bitcoin-Trader - Passives Nebeneinkommen / Arbitrage 1-3% Gewinn on: August 15, 2014, 06:17:50 AM
Vegas-Syndrom

954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Relationship between volume and volatility - you won't believe what I found on: August 15, 2014, 05:51:51 AM
I dont understand what this is..

I mean, you'd expect volatility and volume to be pretty well correlated.
Ok, sure, I suppose that is expected. But why if the price is 10% different today, the volume has to be 10% bigger? Can't the market move with less volume? What if everyone decides that the price is 600$ tomorrow, and nobody resists the new price level and it just surfs? I think there are too many bots out there.

it can move with less volume, sure. but volume is just the amount of people buying or selling, so obviously when that increases, volatility increases as more people are either buying or selling. pretty basic i think.

what i know, its the same at the wall street. the principle. the reporters always saying in the tv: today we have seen less volume. they saying with that, today nobody cared, there were no movement in price etc.

But what is you direct different conclusion. you can just pm me, if you dont to public it.
955  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin-trader.biz on: August 15, 2014, 05:47:04 AM

With the 20% commission, the two curves indicate a preference for 1.6% and 1.3%. The numbers appear naturally distributed, the only comment would be about the product details numbers which are not indicative of the results.

Very comprehensive work.

I am not a pro. How do you interpret this sentense? What does it say to you?

- the return would continue being between 1.3 and 1.6 when there would not be the break in april?
956  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin survive without the Internet? on: August 14, 2014, 08:47:45 PM
What if someone (governments together with banks) would decide to shut down the Internet? Would bitcoin survive? Is it possible to transfer directly p2p somehow? Any thoughts? How strong this whole industry is really?

When they shut down the internet, they shut down their own system in that area. No banks, not ATM, not Cellular phones, no phones, nothing, nada, bla, puff.

Or do you talk about the world wide web?

p2p directly? when you have two computers and connect them together you have a p2p network. Do you have a clue, what you are talking about? Me not.
957  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Facilities with $0.02/kWh in Seattle or Washington State on: August 14, 2014, 08:32:44 PM
http://www.eia.gov/state/print.cfm?sid=WA

Nov-13

Electricity    Washington
Residential    8.70 cents/kWh
Commercial    7.95 cents/kWh
Industrial    4.49 cents/kWh

Still no clue where to find the $0.02/kWh that has been mentioned here so many times.

here in europe in Austria its at least double as expensive. And we are getting 80% of the energy from water energy plants, which were build centuries ago. Thats a deal!

959  Economy / Speculation / Re: [ 13 august data ] A BITCOIN PRICE THEORY on: August 14, 2014, 03:18:23 PM
as you can see by the purple line, the growth of total addresses is slowing down.
(the growth forecast was given by the azure line)

This may be related to the stagnation of price these months,
and could be a demonstration of the correctness of the theory.

-Questions:

-a linear line on an linar graph with exponential regression indicates an exponential growth?
