941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: P2E crypto - which ones are good and worth it? on: July 12, 2022, 01:49:04 PM
I think even if the devs have made a perfect economy for Axie, they just can't skip the strength of a bear market. And we all know that most projects are drowning and affected when it comes to the bear market. It's true that many of these P2E/NFT games are hard to be sustained if the userbase has become huge and that's what other projects have to learn from these successful P2E games. I don't know if they will still be a thing in the next years.
I disagree. Axie was always destined to fail, why? Because they have a system where you can breed infinitely, meaning you will eventually have so many axies working towards making money that, it will not be profitable to keep making it, and that would cause the inflation of the SLP and AXS and cause it to go down. Even with spending some money to breed that Axie, eventually some people will do it, and the number of Axies would have gone to "too many" side and that is what has happened.

You cannot sustain such a thing and it would only be gone eventually. This is why we should never expect it to go on like this, we need to make sure that it never has the same issues again and axie would need to fix that mechanism in their game.
942  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia's economy is 'imploding' on export decline, economists claim on: July 11, 2022, 06:53:12 PM
US and EU don't have courage to foot on ukarine soil and fight with Russia rather they are using ukarine for proxy war. Why other countries should boycott Russian cheap oil and gas. Between there is no clear announcement from EU that there gas import from Russia has gone down to zero.
It's basically all about the nuclear war threat. I mean could EU and USA go into Ukraine and beat Russia out of there if we are talking about just the regular soldiers and tanks type of war? Of course they can, it would be simple like taking candy out of a child. Hell USA alone could, the USA airforce has the biggest air power in all of the world, you know who has the second highest? USA navy. They are that huge, and they have bigger military spending then like 20+ next biggest combined.

So, no matter whatever nationalistic bs anyone talks about, USA army (I am not even American and dislike USA government as well) would win against anyone, probably against all of Europe if it had to, let alone just Russia. But nuclear weapons? That threat is a very real one, and can destroy the earth very easily with a single button.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whole coiner status in 10+ years on: July 11, 2022, 06:21:00 PM
What do you think it it will mean to have an entire bitcoin as we truly hit the depths of supply shock. That moment when there is no turning back from terms like "Store of value" and many products are then denominated in Bitcoin?

For me I imagine a world where someone wants to start a project and as a whole coiner, you walk in and have the ability to angel invest on a dime, or by simply  being in the room you are collateral for innovation.
I believe that there is a big possibility you could buy a very good house even in the most expensive nations and cities for one bitcoin in the future. Like for example where the houses are expenses now? Toronto, New York, London, Paris? Those type of places? Well for 1 bitcoin, you would be able to get 1000+ square feet apartment/loft whatever there with like 3 rooms or maybe 2 big ones.

This is where it is headed, at one point it was possible to get like some "bad" houses for 1 bitcoin in places like Miami, and even right now it is possible to buy some houses in some nations, but not in leading nations. So in 10 years, it will get there for sure.

The stream was literally boring as hell, and I fell asleep during it like many other viewers from what I've heard. So if he doesn't even call the "blessed" winners there is absolutely no point in watching that. It seems the stuff lasted one hour and a half but I really thought it was several hours actually. Undecided
A record is on Youtube you can watch it if you don't believe me : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIOmKRRul7E
He lost several (obviously fake) millions of USD during the session. $20 millions (lol) according to this article https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/drake-loses-20m-on-roulette-but-still-donates-1m-btc/
I wonder if gambling authorities allow that btw and I'm surprised Twitch is tolerating it while they are banning Eddie yet, it doesn't make sense to me.
Drake is the most listened rapper/hiphop singer in the spotify, that should tell you something shouldn't it? I mean not only that there are a lot of fans of Drake all over the world, he is literally the most loved and listened person of his genre, but even if you do not personally like him and do not listen to his type of music, how many times in your life would you get to meet or at least talk with a person like that from the phone? Like literally 100+ million people listen to a person, and that person calls you, how frequently does that happen?

I personally met with a person who had 300k or so followers on instagram as an actor, he was a chill and good guy, but it was still super exciting, and that's 300k, this dude has 116 million.
945  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia's economy is 'imploding' on export decline, economists claim on: July 10, 2022, 08:40:03 PM
The EU citizens are suffering from their own stupid policies, which resulted in sky high inflation and gas shortages. And now they want countries that are located tens of thousands of kilometers away to follow the same policy. How stupid these people can be? Do they really believe that they are still living in the first half of 20th century, when they ruled over half of the world in different colonies? US/EU are declining economies, and their own stupid policies are accelerating that decline. And the most comical thing is that they want other countries to suffer the same fate.
I am not really against it; yeah, if we do absolutely nothing about Russia attacking Ukraine, then we should not do anything about it if they decide to invade Finland, how about Estonia after that? How about if they decide to invade Latvia, Lithuania, after that? I mean where does it end? When do you say "that's enough Russia"?

You gotta start somewhere and at the start is great. They already have a puppet in Belarus, and they are de facto ruling Georgia as well, but if you let Ukraine too, which is basically in Europe already, then you are in a big trouble. This is why I get that, Russia attacking a European nation was the last draw for them and they are putting their foot down. Doesn't sound too silly to me, totally what anyone would do.
946  Economy / Economics / Re: The BTC price must stabilize in the long run. on: July 10, 2022, 07:22:15 PM
And when btc finally stabilizes people will then wishes it to fluctuate because how can they be able to buy cheap and how can they be able to earn massively? That's always their mentality so better if we will just ignore them.

We don't need them here and even if most of them are gone, there's still a lot of btc supporters out there and there will always be new people that will enter on this space. Solana and other top alts aren't the one that gave btc a bad name but it was those scam coins. It's also the fault of those who invest on them. Once those people get scammed, this will then create a headline and those who don't have a knowledge in crypto will think that all here are scam including the btc.
True, but we can't avoid situations like that. Scammers, they will always be there, associated with a project no matter how good the project itself is. But, of course, scamming people is a bad thing, while trading is not. There's nothing wrong with buying low and selling high. So, I personally don't mind volatility much. Our world is volatile, and Bitcoin is a part of it.
Scamming is such an "easy" way of making money for some people. All you have to do is work hard to convince people to believe in you, and you can make a bulk amount of money together. Just think of companies that scam you. Think of an exchange, normally they make money from the trading fee, and if they just decide to take all the money in their accounts and leave? That would be gigantic compared to what trading fee profits would bring you.

This is why I believe that the best thing to do right now is not get scammed, but also understand why scammers do it. If you realize what the angle someone talks to you, then you will see if they are scammers or not.
947  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 10, 2022, 06:35:10 PM
The poll is pretty close...  11 votes for yes and 14 votes for no.  But with the whole market getting some action on the buy side, I think people will start forgetting that we're still in a bear market.  But this bounce is good for a small, quick trade to make a little something something for sports betting.  Lol.

This is what I think...  After the bounce, BTC goes break down below 20k again and touches 13k - 14k range.  That's the part we wake up and start buying!
I agree that it looks quite close to each other, but there has always been some people who were going with the flow of bitcoin at all times. Some people who see it go from 20k to 30k think it will go to 40k, but see it go from 30k to 20k think it will be 10k. They do not really comprehend the "it will eventually stop" mindset, which is weird because by that logic it would be either one million dollars or zero.

In the end, we are going to see the price stop going down, and we probably saw it already, it is doing alright right now. If we believe that and continue like that, we should be fine, there shouldn't be any problems at all. That is at least how I see it going.

Lewis is ancient in F1 terms now, he is pushing the boundaries of whats possible when the sport is so demanding on reaction time something which naturally will decline with age despite constant training.   He has alot of experience and skill but is fighting an uphill struggle like every top sportsmen.   I imagine the top teams keep in mind that he wont be around forever when they situate team composition.
Fernando Alonso is older at 41 but these two are far above the average
 https://racingnews365.com/f1-2022-drivers-ages-and-dates-of-birth
I wouldn't call him "ancient". I mean Vettel is still a great and marvelous racer if you ask me but he has a bad car and he looks ancient now, Alonso could still get "some" but he is probably ancient too, but Lewis is just "bad" at this point with that car. Even Russel is racing better, which is a proof that Hamilton got a bit older, and the ease of having by far the best car ever, the most dominant car ever made, turned him into a softie who didn't had to work as hard as others. Now that the playing field is leveled, even worse than 2 cars, this made Hamilton worse. He is still in top 6 if you ask me, better than anyone aside from RBR and Ferrari cars and Russel.
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 10, 2022, 07:11:44 AM
I can't imagine Messi leaving PSG now. With Barcelona he has won everything he can win, and in fact there are no better teammates to play with than PSG where he now plays football. Manchester City don't even come close to PSG in terms of individual qualities. Messi also has more than enough money, he is purely for the sporting picture and he only wants one thing at the moment and that is to win the Champions League again. Then there are only a few clubs that are good enough where he can go and who can also pay him. He better stay in Paris until he wins the CL again.
I never truly understood players who already won so much to end up getting to the money trap. I mean Messi must be one of the richest sports figures of all time, and he still considers getting more money from PSG?

I believe he could play another year here, and when his contract is up, he could leave and play very cheap for Barcelona. Why not do that? Doesn't make sense to chase money even at his age. This dude probably made over a billion dollars total, even if half of that is gone, he must have something close to half a billion dollars, and probably spent it on silly stuff if he still needs money. I get that you may want money when you can make it, but after a certain point happiness sounds like more important than more money.
950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: July 09, 2022, 09:08:09 PM
They already have some great strikers like Messi, Neymar, Mbappe to Icardi. Don't they think they will be wasting their money by signing Scamacca from Sassuolo? Or maybe they intend to invest in Scamacca because of his young age (23 Y.O) Huh Even if he moves clubs later, hopefully he doesn't move to PSG, because maybe he won't get game time there. That's why I prefer if he plays for Newcastle Roll Eyes

FYI, here's an interesting fact about Scamacca, he hasn't played for Sassuolo again after his first loan to Cremonese. That means almost 5 years Scamacca has not played with Sassuolo.
Neymar and Messi are midfielders and in the future the club will get rid of them, Icardi has not been able to prove himself for three years and he is not young. Perhaps this is some kind of temporary transfer with the potential for an extension if he can show himself. But I do not think that they want to buy him for the main place in the composition. Obviously, if PSG buy another clean striker, it will be a player of a higher level.
I wouldn't call wingers "midfield". Sure they are not strikers, but they are still in the offensive side of things and not midfield. Midfield is players like Xavi and Iniesta combo we know so well, not Messi and Neymar, those are wingers. They will also not be "getting rid of", I mean they could sell them, or transition them to something else, but getting rid of them sounds like they would be unwanted players who suck, they do not suck.

Getting younger players are usually for two things; one is the fact that these players can't play all games, so you need young players who can warm up very quickly and play instead. And two would be getting them ready to take the spot when older players age too much.
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Owner of the token/coin when it has value always change Smart Contracts on: July 09, 2022, 07:00:17 PM
I believe that most of the time they are "updating" it to make it better in the code part of it. Audits are a real thing, and when you create a token with a contract that doesn't pass the audit check, then it is going to be a problem. I have seen many people who did it because they found some problems with the contract.

It is simple really, if CertiK for example says that there is something wrong with it, you update it, do a new contract, and ask them to check it again, and if it is clear then you stay with that but if there is some more then you make another one and check it again. One project I worked with literally had 3 contracts because of an issue.
This is true and very real. I have met with quite a lot of people back in the day, and most of them went ahead and made their own projects later in life. When you have been in crypto for so many years like me, you meet with a lot of people who get rich, and when they get rich, they want to get richer and they build new projects.

I have seen all of them get audits, and at least half of them would have another token with a new contract after the audit to fix things, and maybe like 5-10% of them would get a third one to get even a better one. Sure,it is a bad situation for the project no doubt, but having a shitty contract and sticking with it would have been even worse.
952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker claims to have stolen 1 B records of Chinese citizens, demands 10 BTC on: July 09, 2022, 06:19:42 PM
From my viewpoint, it smells fishy that with such an enormous amount of personal data for 1bil Chinese citizens, he only asks for 10 BTC.
Even giving out 750k data for verifying its legitimacy, I doubt anyone can make a cross-reference and verifying it except China govt. So again, 10 BTC for 1bil Chinese citizens data? If it was real then the 10 BTC price tag is just for show.
I think you forgot that he can resell the same data countless times. It is not blackmail, but a simple sale of illegally collected information on the black market. If he only has ten customers, that's already 100 Bitcoin!
I agree with this, I mean if we are selling 1 billion Chinese data for the very first time, you could even contact FBI or CIA or something and ask for a lot more, you could get rich. But if you already sold it like 100 times, then you could not ask that much, you just gotta drop the price a ton.

It is still 1 billion Chinese, so it is not going to be free or 100 bucks, but believe me as long as this exists eventually it will become free as well, you will see it shared everywhere eventually. My nation had a similar situation and now you can get it for free after 5 years. If this is real, the first one was probably expensive, now 10 btc, later it will be 1, and eventually free.
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: July 08, 2022, 09:21:11 PM
You all know the relationship between De Jong and Erik Hag at Ajax.
They must have been in close contact not looking at the delay in the switch.
Who knows what they have discussed, De Jong will likely be a key to the squad if he comes.
Barcelona owing part of he's salary right .
I believe that if they keep that relationship going, then it would make sense, but it is also a lot of money. I mean Barcelona certainly needs that money and if they can sell him then they could do a lot more, it would open up so much more for them. Every year (until the debt is paid) they will need to sell some players to make some cap for themselves and then they could do whatever they want after that, not unlimited of course but better.

This is why I understand why they want to get rid of him. But United shouldn't just take him because Erik wanted him, they should negotiate on the price a lot more down, De Jong looks like max 50 million type of player to me.
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 08, 2022, 08:25:58 PM
Chelsea is the one who have strong rumor linking with Ronaldo but honestly I still have my doubts that he will move over to another title rival of United. Yes, Ronaldo has no options but given his history with United I still have my doubts and which is why I think it is a way Ronaldo is pushing United to make some good transfers in the transfer window. Once they get a good player then I think they will be able to convince Ronaldo to stay at United.
So far, United haven't made any high-profile transfers, even De Jong's deal is still pending. Even if you are a big optimist and assume that everything is as you think, what options do United have now? It seems that by the start of the season, in the best of circumstances, they will start the season with about the same team as they were last season, not stronger (but actually weaker, at least in names).
Well, if we look at the "gossip" of the year, we could say they may get Ben Yedder, De Jong, Eriksen, Martinez, Antony. These are HUGE HUGE names if they could get them. Okay maybe Eriksen is not that big anymore, but the rest are quite huge. Antony alone is a big enough name because many believe he is the best player in Ajaz right now, Martinez is a young great player, and De Jong is a star level player.

These three alone would be amazing and very good for their future, Ben Yedder is a bit on the older side but still great. I am not saying they will get all of these, but they are chasing these names and they are good names to chase, I hope they get lucky.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about altcoin market on: July 08, 2022, 06:48:20 PM
And the wise decision is to buy more rather than rejected the chance. People are wishing for the price to dump during the bullish season for them to buy altcoins at a cheaper price, I couldn't imagine discouraging people to buy today which in fact, we have already been given the chance. Only we have to choose potential coins, not meme coins or those who are created useless and in the hype and you will never regrets it.
I can't even imagine discouraging people to buy now too, that would be very silly. Why not buy it when it is low, when you can sell it when it is high? That is literally how the trading deal works, it has always been said to be "buy low, sell high" and if you can't do that then you shouldn't be trading.

Everyone knows that you should be buying bitcoin and altcoins when they are low, sure if it is a shitcoin then sell and get out, but if it is a legit one, then you should buy it and then you should be selling it at a much higher level in the future. I know not many people do that, but they should totally consider doing it in the future to be able to understand how to make money.
956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Qualifying on: July 07, 2022, 09:18:43 PM
Last season I didn't think Madrid would win, in fact I'm quite surprised they won again. There aren't many great players but they have experience, and a winning mentality. Knew this would be more difficult. I think at the moment I am more for Liverpool and Man City. They have prepared the team better by getting Nunez and Haaland. For PSG I am not sure, but they have signed a new coach, I think they really want to win the UCL. But I read the news that Neymar was leaving.
Nobody really thought that Real Madrid would win, that was a very shocking result to everyone. First they faced PSG and everyone thought Mbappe would find a way to win, between Messi and Neymar he had some world class help, and somehow they still lost.

I mean that last goal maybe 10 seconds into the game, right after scoring, that back to back really killed the whole team in an instant. Then they faced Chelsea and still managed to make a comeback there as well, great game for sure. Then the magnificent City, they slot the first game there too, and then they were down until 88th minute of the game, seriously how are you down two games in, whole ass two games, and then turn things around in 2 minutes. Not gonna talk about Liverpool because that looked like they kind of did well enough to win there anyway without any worry.

~snip~
if you only look at the negative impact, of course it's not fair. The positive impact of using advanced technology in sporting events will further help the game run more fairly. We also have to be aware, in the modern era like today, technological developments are growing rapidly, so that every sport or whatever follows the existing technology. more like a robot, I don't think so. Sports are still played by humans and the use of technology is only to support the game.
Yeah, but can you really stop every play and review it on the computer?, not really.

So that means you trust the human interaction in the game with the players and the referee involved. Sometimes maybe something was wrong but everyone continued to play, and that's fine.

Should we need to check every single interaction of the ball with a computer?.

I rather not.

And if so, like in tennis, do we want to have a maximum amount of "challenges"? I mean, I would much rather have a normal human football interaction rather than bringing in any of this technology
I think there shouldn't be a maximum of challenges, I believe it should be based on VAR refs and that's it. Teams shouldn't challenge anything, if there is a big uproar, the VAR team checks the replay and if they see something then they will let the ref know and the ref will watch it, if they do not see anything wrong it will continue even if the other team still goes on to make noise.

If the whole power is in the refs, and not the players then there is no worry. Look at NBA, the challenge system has been put in place and yet it's not used much. Plus if a ref gives a wrong decision, more often than not they will keep the decision unless it is a hugely obvious result.
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounty programs or airdrops more profitable to participate in? on: July 06, 2022, 08:28:19 PM
Airdrops is  good way to earn money without investing, also when you start
Name me any airdrop you have taken part, that brought you more than $5 or $10. Please give up-to-date info, or something at least half a year old. Dont give me random project names that you have googled, or mention 1inch airdrop or something from 2018-2020. I need something fresh. But I dont hope that you will name me something, because no one gives free money now. Projects dont have spare funds for that. I've been monitoring airdrops and bounties for a long time and havent seen anything profitable or worth spending time lately.
I have to say you could check the data on the previous ones so far, like probably for the past 5 years or so, and can find over 100 projects that was profitable, or at least over 10 bucks to follow up. However, that doesn't mean that it is a good idea, because we had 100's of them per month for the past 5 years and that is why the batting average is quite low.

If you have thousands, probably maybe like 10 thousand of them out there, and only 100 of them made you money, that is a low chance to win something. This is why not many people get super happy about it, you should be trying to avoid that as much as you could and instead find "sure" things to spend your time on.
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 06, 2022, 07:17:47 AM
Perhaps Zlatan Ibrahimović is not ready to take over as coach right now. Moreover, even though he is 40 years old, his fitness is still good enough. Last season, he also performed in 23 matches in Serie A. He’s not just a player. He assists in strengthening the morale of the players. With an experienced player like Zlatan Ibrahimović in the squad, other players on the team can be stress free. As a result, the performance of the team is good. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will probably take over as coach in the next two to three years.
I can understand that he may not be ready for coaching, or he is not a terrible player, ok, that's fine. But do you really think that he deserves to be the highest paying player in Milan? I mean is he the player that provides the most to the team? Maybe 10 years ago, but right now he is not a player that provides as much as possible, he is not the top contributor, even as a striker, he doesn't score that much anymore.

This is why I believe that, if Milan wants to keep him and if Ibrahimovic wants to play, then it's fine and I am not going to argue against that, but remember that he should be getting paid a lot less, like half of what he is getting paid, then it would make sense.
960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 06, 2022, 06:03:06 AM
The results of the Nets and Lakers are a prime example that a lot of all-star players on one team is an ineffective and pointless strategy. I think the Nets management should find one dedicated all-star player and build a cohesive team around him. However, as you said, that could take a long time, and it's unlikely they can do that during this offseason. Honestly, I expect the Nets will probably be the underdogs next season.
I feel like it is not about all-stars getting into the same team all together, it's the system building that decides it. If you have one superstar level PF that plays mostly inside, if you have one of the all time great players who likes to drive inside, and have a PG that usually goes inside as well, one of them being a great three point shooter, then it is quite obvious that you are going to clog the paint and it would be hard for you to be efficient and the inside would be crowded by other teams defense and would make it harder for you to score.

This is obvious, so even if you get amazing players, this method won't work. Hence, it's both about getting good players, but also having a good system in place for those players to have good roles that do not overlap each other.
