941  Other / Meta / Re: Request for a board of made-up stories on: November 06, 2023, 08:19:07 AM
Most of these threads are more or less crude attempts to get merit, which sometimes backfire on them. That's why I think it would be worthwhile to create a "Likely made-up stories" board and move them all there.
You mean true life stories. Stories that have no evidence of existence. If there is a board of bitcoin true life stories, it will only open more ways for other people to read and form their own false stories to narrate.  Grin

The truth is that posts like that should fit well in off-topic board since they are obviously not real and we’re made up, but the fact that forum members can easily make their weekly signature posts quota from such thread they have all decided to turn a blind eye towards it and still reply as if the stories are true. And as long as users still reply to thread like that without proper analysis then more of it will definitely be made.
Still it is about bitcoin and that is what bitcoin discussion is for.
942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hong Kong regulators might allow spot ETF on: November 06, 2023, 07:10:36 AM
However, there is something mentioned in the article that implies that spot ETFs might not be as bullish as we might expect. It is mentioned that the take up on futures ETF in Hong Kong has only been modest.
In other countries, do not expect bitcoin to be bullish if their SEC approve spot bitcoin ETF, but in United States, expect the market to be bullish as we expect becuase it will first start from people fomo and also US have more than half of the worlds share of traditional market.

There are many spot etfs in many countries already this is nothing new. I think somewhere in Europe there was a bitcoin etf from maybe 5 years back.
The first was in two years ago but listed this year. So the first bitcoin spot ETF in Europe was this year.

Also this is about bitcoin spot ETF in Hong Kong.
943  Other / Meta / Re: Demand for non-Telegram forum notifications? on: November 05, 2023, 08:28:45 PM
Be it telegram or a website, I will love both. But you Telegram notification bot is doing a good work. How will the website send notifications when not on the website? I think an app can only do that?
944  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: blockchain.com EARN commission 7 % on: November 05, 2023, 07:53:28 PM
That's a very interesting news bro, thank you for sharing it here Cheesy. But may I ask you how do you know that please? To go higher Bitcoin needs more buyers. So why people would wait 2024 or 2025 to buy it a higher price, rather than buying now at a lower one. People know how Bitcoin is volatile, so IMO they will stay more cautions than in the past and they won't buy it at a price near its previous ATH so I don't think BTC could print a new ATH in the coming years. We need more adoption for that.
I am not saying anyone should wait till 2024 or 2025 before they should buy bitcoin. zigger33 asked a question to hold 7% USDT good or not. I advised him not to go for it but to buy bitcoin which will give better return if he can wait and let the price to increase, that the return he will see from holding bitcoin will be far higher than the return he will see from the 7% USDT.
945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Casinos Sponsor Sites That Deals With Gambling Addiction on: November 05, 2023, 07:27:48 PM
This is an interesting thing to think about.  You could say casinos sponsoring gambling addiction sites seems shady and  it might seem like a conflict of interest, how can they really want to help if they make money off addiction? But you could also say it shows responsibility if they try to deal with the dark side of their business.  I don't really know where I land on this.  It's complicated.  Seems like good arguments on both sides. I'm curious to see what others think about this.
Casinos and other gambling sites know how people are, no matter how many articles, videos and other contents that you produce to encourage people to not be addicted to gambling, gamblers will always prefer to do what they are doing in the way that they like doing it and that also do not stop many gamblers from being addicted. I remember one of the first gambling sites I registered on, they have all those articles but I have never bothered to read it before. Most gamblers will not read anything like that. I mean gambling sites will still continue to make money after all.
946  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: blockchain.com EARN commission 7 % on: November 05, 2023, 07:11:31 PM
what do you guys think of blockchain.com they are offering on EARN 7 % commision ,  this company has been in the game since 2011 is guess that proves it thrustworthy  company ?

what do you think ?
Just do not go for it and totally avoid it. If you hold bitcoin instead of 7% USDT ROI, you will make more money in bitcoin. Be expecting bitcoin to get to all-time-high by next year or in 2025 and you will make multiple of the money. USDT is just a stable coin pegged with United States dollar.
947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Plan to Make the Most of Your Bitcoin Investment Before the Halving? on: November 05, 2023, 08:43:58 AM
I have continued to DCA. I am waiting for one week to halving to invest huge amount of money which is far more than my DCA. Because I know that after halving, I will earn more from my bitcoin holding.

As for other things, I spend normally to enjoy what I should basically enjoy.
948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 05, 2023, 06:41:11 AM
How many of you have dreamed about having your casino? Be the house and play the always-win game.
There are many other business in the world. I have dream to have a business but casino or any other gambling site like bookies has never been on my mind. Although it is lucrative to have casino business or if you have a gambling site because you will always make money from people as they will continue to lose more than win. To start and maintain a casino is not that easy too, you need money for it.
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Telegram Casinos good or bad? on: November 04, 2023, 10:04:45 AM
Do these guys have any threads on this forum? I have a few online casinos and some local casinos in my country that I am already using; as such, I don't usually text some new casinos. There's a saying of always sticking to what you know better, which are the other casinos that I am using. It's better to stick to a casino that one is very familiar with to avoid being scammed.
Just as you know some casinos not to be scam, also you can know some telegram casinos that are not scam. But you know scammers, anything they see opportunity they will go for it. As there are casinos that are on telegram now, some scammers will try to establish a scam casinos that people can use but later realize that it is a scam, but this is common with other casinos too. If you can avoid those scam before, you will be able to make findings that will let you know that a telegram casinos that are scam or not.
950  Other / Meta / Re: Is it just me? Bitcointalk slow!!! on: November 02, 2023, 06:59:16 PM
Anyone facing issue accessing bitcointalk? I am unable to browse bitcointalk normally. It's so slow. The pages taking forever to reload. Is it just me or everyone else? My location is "Bangladesh". Can anyone check why is it so slow, or the cause of high ping. My point is, it's not as it was before.
Use VPN and will be able to visit this forum without any problem, your browser will become fast. Be trying it again and again with you ISP network and it will later be fast. I have seen it countless number of time but not frequent though. I use VPN to solve the issue.
951  Other / Meta / Re: Signature campaign as a creation of bitcointalk on: November 02, 2023, 10:47:24 AM
The only site that I have seen something like this are altcoinstalks.com, and this Russians forum, cryptotalk.org. Both sites copied it on this forum. Signature campaign started on this forum.
952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use multiple platforms for betting? on: November 02, 2023, 10:14:52 AM
Having the best odds doesn’t guarantee you a safe win in contrary to what you said. Most of the user use multiple platform for betting is due to the bonuses given by the certain sportsbook. Different sportsbook usually give unique promotion on different date so having account in different platform will give you an option to participate on promotion of different casino.
I am using two sport betting sites, the first one because it has a good easy to use site, but the reward they give is not good to the second gambling site. The second site always give me bonus and if I win 3 odds, I can withdraw the bonus. It is a local betting site and the reason I still use it today. But I like the first one which is a foreign becuase it is better to work with and it gives me the live matches to bet in a way that I prefer more. It is not always about the odds, you are right.
953  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "change password frequently" on: November 01, 2023, 12:45:03 PM
Why asking this question? You can do whatever with your password. If you like, use a strong password and do not change it. If you like, change it periodically.

It is good to stake your bitcoin address for account ownership claiming. This is what that is most important to me.

One of the reason of changing your password regularly doesn’t necessarily mean to avoid getting hack but you might also forget it
You can backup the password on a book offline. There is also email for recovery. If you do not backup the new password, you can also forget it.
954  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Does Faucet give real bitcoins every few hours? on: November 01, 2023, 07:59:02 AM
So in a few hours the faucet will give us a very small amount of free bitcoins. The question is, is it real bitcoin? or is it just fake bitcoins and when we have met the minimum withdrawal limit, they just send real bitcoins to our withdrawal wallet address?

I think it's fake bitcoin, because on the faucet we only get 0.0000006 while the transaction fees are more expensive than that. So the small amount given by the faucet is fake bitcoin?
It is not fake, but it is just a waste of time.

If faucet give you 6 satoshi every hour, that is 0.00000144 BTC in a day, which is $0.0504 in a day if bitcoin is $35000. Can you see that yourself that it is an absolute waste of time. You will have to wait long before you can be able to reach the minimum withdrawal. But some people are patient, have no work, but able to have several accounts with different IPs for just to turn the small amount of bitcoin to something big. As for me, I see it as a waste of time and energy.
955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 01, 2023, 07:49:34 AM
Did not see this one coming but sure.
It can improve your mood till you keep winning, thats for sure. That can change real quick tho
Im not so sure about relieveing stress. That migth be true for a few, but im pretty sure its not the case for the majority of players.
It can help with self control and managing risk, sure, that is certainly a possibility.
If someone is gambling in a responsible way it supposed to be gambling, it can help the person. Gambling is fun. Anything fun has health benefits. So the health benefits gambling can have on people with responsible gambling habit is far more than what is in the OP. But some people are just using gambling to look for money. Such people do not have fun and if they are losing, gambling does more harm to them.
956  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk: Error 504: Gateway time-out AGAIN on: November 01, 2023, 07:07:48 AM
Is everyone experiencing this error too?
Is this also the same error as yesterday?
If you see error 504, it means that the site is not working. It means that everyone that wants to connect to that site will not be able to but getting the error.

This error is very common on this forum but not taking long. Yes it is the last error that makes people not able to access Bitcointalk but also just for a short time.
957  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoinica Theft with unusual transaction to Theymos. on: October 31, 2023, 08:52:49 PM
The video is not recently but was 8 years ago.

In the video, he said theymos is the owner of Bitcointalk. The founder of bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto is the owner of Bitcointalk while theymos is the admin.
958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this how it start? (No or yes?) on: October 31, 2023, 06:36:51 PM
To answer the question with regards ri addiction then it is obviously not. Having feelings of regret after losing is a common experience to gamblers. Best way to start is to simply set the right mindset; losing should be always expected in order to avoid being exaggerated once you’ve lost an amount you have invested. Just keep in mind how gambling works in any platform or industry
Gambling is not an investment, people should not see gambling like that. But you are right that any money sent to the gambling site account should be considered as lost because it can definitely be lost. If I bet with $20 on a gambling site and I lost all at once, I will just quit gambling for that day. If it is all my weekly budget that I used, I will quit gambling for that week until the following week.
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most you have ever lost in one session? on: October 31, 2023, 04:29:49 PM
It's not that I doubt that you really lose that amount but why not post a screenshot of that amount and just hide sensitive information
You are not wrong, anybody can come up with the idea that he lost an amount of money but which could be a lie, but with evidence like a screenshot, we can believe to some level. But do not always believe what you see on screenshot because it can be edited and fake.

That $200k is so huge to lose I don't know your location or financial capability but with that $200k you could live like a rich man in a third-world country where everything is cheap.
In a third world country? You can live like a rich man in any country in this world if you have that amount of money. If you are in a third world country, not that you can live like a rich man but you are a very rich man if you have that huge amount of money.
960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Spot Bitcoin ETF also favor the SEC? on: October 31, 2023, 04:05:34 PM
It is against governmental benefits and they also see Bitcoin as one of threats for their centralized bank system so your point here is wrong.
So why would the government allowed it to be approved?

If bitcoin spot ETF is approved, it is just a way to draw bitcoin closer for the government to be able to tax bitcoin (ETF) users.

See people seeing bitcoin more as investment and for trading. You can see El Salvador that legalized bitcoin, it can be used for payment of goods, services and salaries and businesses can accept it, but why more than 95% of El Salvadorans are still having USD in savings if compared to bitcoin. Bitcoin is not a threat to fiat.

You are not getting it from tranthidung perspective, the government sees it as a threat because with bitcoin people will have freedom to actually do things freely with their money, like cross border transactions without having to pass through the hassle of banks to change from currency to another which benefits the banks. With bitcoin many people can go into total anonymity of their funds without the preying eyes of the government.
But without the bitcoin spot ETF, people have been using bitcoin for cross border transactions since it was created.

With bitcoin spot ETF,  bitcoin ETF in the traditional market can not be used for something like that because regulation will make it not possible. Bitcoin spot ETF will only benefit the government more to track people and tax them.
