Hi TravelsAsia, 1. Yes, we are utilizing a distributed ledger called 'Bitcoin'  . The Stratis Foundation will be incorporated as a no profit organization, so all accounting will be available for external auditing. 2. We have not considered this, all btc raised during the ICO will be held in a 2of3 multisig account. one key will be held by Paul Klanschek, CEO of Coinimal and escrow for the Waves and LISK ICO's, the second will be held by Bitcointalk Bitcoin Escrow SebastianJu. The third will be held by our founder and CEO Chris Trew. We have tried to ensure that we offer the same level of protection for investors as the previous ICO funded projects. how will u prevent bad blockchain apps that will harm computer? i dont want virus but sounds cool
Hi b0art, Users will not be hosting blockchain applications, business will use either the Cloud Stratis platform (BAAS) or host their own full node. However, we will keep a close eye on this space, when a secure solution is available to allow users to host blockchain apps/dapps in an isolated manner, it will be implemented into the Stratis Platform. Regards Krushang Doesn't that still mean that servers running full nodes are subject to harm? No, if that was the case then anyone running Bitcoin core would be subject to harm. Shame. .NET probably downgraded the value of this project.
You'll need to create a version targeting for windows 10, and windows 7/8. You wont be able to reach enterprise organisations who frequently use Linux. and does that have Mac systems. You should have released this project under Java, C++ Qt, or Python Qt.
Apart from my opinions above.. . it pretty much sounds & feels like another ripple, without portability options.
But, I would like to know real-time statistics of how many people, who are actually hosting nodes, including how many nodes being hosted by your organisation.

Lukily you have libraries for other languages, this could be interesting.
Hi NyeFe, I do not understand your point. NBitcoin and our Full node framework will be supported on Linux and Mac (OSX) via Mono. However we will be upgrading the whole platform to .NET core, Microsofts latest version of the .Net framework that now supports Linux and OSX without the need for mono. We will not be relying on Mono going forward and .NET core is the game changer that can allow C# to become the most dominant Blockchain development language inside corporations. It has also been open sourced which allows us to build a financial platform on top of it. Our development team would not feel confident developing a financial platform on a closed source framework. An interesting development project. I'll be watching for sure since I also develop in c#, although like an earlier person said, kind of done with ico's at the moment. I think between lisk, waves, ether, the dao, and rise everyone is trying to find the next big thing. I'm not a big believer in private blockchains though, goes against the ethos of bitcoin, but still an interesting project. Good luck with it  Hi Cloverme, Private chains have many use cases for businesses, custom requirements, functionality not available in bitcoin or isolation and privacy. I understand your point, but projects like Stratis are required to reduce the divide between the corporate development world and blockchain tech. The existing Bitcoin Core is developed in c++, most businesses do no not have any C++ developers but will have usually have C# developers. At this time side chains are not currently available on the Bitcoin mainnet, so we are not simply developing tech thats already available on the Bitcoin blockchain. . Stratis is going to allow C# devs like yourself to develop blockchain applications completely in C# and .NET. Once we upgrade our full node code base to .NET Core, the Stratis full node will be able to run on Linux, Mac and Windows without any 3rd party emulation such as Mono. We are the only ICO project that adds any value to the Bitcoin ecosystem, as we are developing a Full Node and development platform for Bitcoin. We will be actively contributing to the Elements code base (Side chains) and the Bitcoin Core code base. Also, how can we offer blockchain based services to businesses if we are not 100% sure of the security of our Blockchain? The answer is to use the proven technology and consensus of the most widespread and well known blockchain in existence, Bitcoin. Any Blockchain tech that diverges away from Bitcoin is bleeding edge and cannot be 100% sure that their Blockchain is secure, until its proven over time. |

interesting project, i will watch it. And maybe participate ico. But at this moment it looks like the time for ICO is not good - BTC is rising (ATH) and preparing for new maximums. Also main part of sign campaigners are in Wings and Rise for all ICO period. This ICO is too short. Maybe you should make a longer period - for example from 10th June to the end of July. Think on it
