941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin have grant program ? on: September 20, 2023, 05:29:25 PM
If there was going to be anything like that, it could be the block rewards that are gained by successful miners, maybe that could be an incentive or the grant you get for successfully carrying out the tasks. If not for that, I don't think Bitcoin in itself offers grants and I think it's rational enough to say that. Reasons are that it is a decentralized market where there's no such things like Central authorities that's managing it or regulating the market, not to say that he/she offers users grants. Foundations are mostly in charge of grants or so. And Bitcoin doesn't have such to offer such grant programs.

I was thinking that a new feature might be interesting for the forum. Is it possible to implement zapping (with lightning) on topics, comments and profiles' bio?
I met with this idea on stacker.news . I found it very useful. Let me know you thoughts.

Best regards,
Mate, you're just a newbie. I suggest you take your time and learn by the ropes. There are so many reasons why the forum is the way you met it and as a newcomer, you're to go through the length and breathe of the forum to learn from the forum. I won't say much but to allow you to learn much more about the forum, starting from Beginners ans Help, Trading Discussion, etc.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 20, 2023, 12:18:03 PM
Do you ever doubt your capacity to contribute to changing a country's regulations? I, for one, have serious reservations about such a prospect due to my limited public speaking abilities. Everything tends to get muddled when I engage with government matters, particularly when it comes to public speaking.
Will you agree with me when I say you don't have to have public speaking abilities though it's an added advantage, but that should not be the limit to contributing your quota to the government and your people. It's a government of the people, and any one else can go to the Governor like I did. It's the same believe I had that took me there and boom. It was a success.
Quote
Everyone here acknowledges that the steps you're taking are commendable and wise. However, I'm curious about the preparations you made before daring to submit that proposal. Did you have to rely on close associates to assist you in the subsequent processes if it indeed moves forward? And is your knowledge of cryptocurrency sufficient to elucidate the significance of the proposal you've presented to them?
It will require a teamwork going forward. Now waiting to hear from the government and will invite more helping hands to join the team. I don't want to take the credit alone, two heads are better than one. We will take the steps one by one starting with the retreat then we will advance. I want the government to fundamentally understand the technology, pressing more on the benefits.
944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 19, 2023, 05:00:50 PM
In the domestic league, Newcastle is not good, which doesn't mean they are not good in the Champions League and vice versa, because the atmosphere in the Champions League is of course very different, sometimes teams that we think are weak can become strong when facing big teams, especially as Newcastle has no burden at all.

Exactly, I'm more of the opinion that this match may end up draw or with a very close win. Maybe one (1) goal difference. But it's closed to certainty that Milan may take the lead.

Milan in their last game with their city rivals Inter lost 1-5 with low morale. Ben Nasser won't be able to play as a midfield in the game due to his injury which also poses another disadvantage to the team. Although they performed greatly well in the last season of Champions League by reaching up to the semi finals including their their history in Champions League is beyond that of Newcastle. Newcastle was able to win over Brentford in their last game which could give them the ginger to push better in this game. However, Newcastle needs to bring in much more energy to win.
945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 19, 2023, 01:47:00 PM
These are currently the most valuable first 11 squad for the champions league indicating their values and the clubs they play for. Mbappe (PSG) and Haaland (Manchester City) leads the squad.

What do you think guys?

946  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Which way 9ja? Who are you and who am I? on: September 19, 2023, 01:36:13 PM
Mate, I've been trying to connect your words from the way you started up till the end of the story, but because of the longevity of the story, I couldn't. Please, next time let's try and minimize what we post so that all of us can have a view and understanding of what you are talking about.

As for the death of the rich or the poor, depends on the area to which you are viewing this. For instance, the Muslims prefer to bury the dead, whether rich or poor, in their white plain garment regardless of what you possesed in your bank account when you were alive, so they don't discriminate between the rich and the poor when it comes to burials or something of that nature.  I feel like at the end of the day what matters most is the kind of environment you live. There are environments where people are buried with much respect and value, without minding the kind of financial status or the kind of materialism  that have been done to the corpes, whereas there are other places that bury the dead due to probably their culture, in the way they feel like doing, which you may find diminishing.

I think that should be the bottom line of the discussion is that we continue to value humanity above materialism. Whether you're rich or poor, is a worldly possession which should not stop you from being treated with respect. This is not to ignore the privileges that comes with affluence.
947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 19, 2023, 10:07:12 AM
Wow, this is amazing OP. It's really nice to know we still have people like you around. Considering the fact that the government is so against Bitcoin, you still had the courage to make this proposal. That's so cool. And I'm guessing you're a man of high status to be able to do this...¿
Anyways, it's really nice you involved the state government, making it more formal, but just in case the Nigerian government doesn't stop being " the Nigerian government " ... I saw a comment that suggested you make it a private endeavor. That'll even make children more optimistic about learning it, cause they will individually apply to your boot camp, instead of learning in school which they see as a by-force thing and may lose interest.

Actually, it's going to look like a by-force thing, but it's still optional. In the trade courses or subjects you have the option of selecting whatever course you intend to do. But what is more important is the fact that you must take at least one of the subjects. A Trade subject that you would participate in. For instance, you can either apply for Data processing, Furnitures, Welding, amongst other options that you have. The subjects in itself is a core subject that you must pick. Nevertheless, you have the opportunity of selecting whatever field of the Trade subject, i.e Bitcoin Technology.

As to whether I should make it private or public, it's just something that I am still considering, but the earlier would come if and only if the government have not responded the way I wanted, but I am very optimistic at this point in time that the government is going to listen to the Proposal that I have given to them and that they will be calling me in due time and I'm  also going to try to follow up to see that I get the response that I need from the government, but As for private? whether I will go private. It demands a lot of money and investments before we can achieve that and that's not something that I think one is fully prepared for. For now. So let's just watch out and be hopeful for the best.
948  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria on: September 18, 2023, 11:33:57 AM
Sometimes I feel the hardship some Nigerians are facing makes them know their true potential as a person. If someone is always in their comfort zone, they don’t explore to see more skills they can be able to render themselves with. Although, this till comes with the availability of resources to carry this out. Life in general is very hard but only the truly committed and dedicated one always find a way out.

The most scary part of staying in your comfort zone is that it makes you overly stagnant in growth and learning new things. It is the worst part of a person particularly when you are in a young age. Comfort zone attracts many bad habits including procrastination and mental loneliness. The brain has been designed to accommodate active events to stay charged and active. I've experienced all of these in the past and all I can say is that we should fight our comfort zones, either by exiting or by engaging in other self-development skills and courses. Like it is said that in every sickness, there's a medicine.  Alongside the effects, I was able to learn self-development courses and skills that are helpful today.

Having one source of income in Nigeria is not advisable. Even the civil servants and politicians don’t just depend on their basic salary, most of them have other businesses and establishments that is earning them more money. Civil servants will be retired after 35 years in service, politicians will also leave their positions after their tenure has ended. Without a continuous good source of income, I think this people will either return back to the way they were before getting this jobs or their source of income will reduce drastically to some unbearable minimum amount. Having more than one source of income is the best and all Nigerians are now keying into that already.
And making the better use of the comfort zone is even better. Because for Naija, I doubt if them get single person wey never enter comfort zone before, but like we dey talk, side hustle really dey important for life. In fact, whether you work or not. Having multiple streams of income is the best thing that can ever happen to a man. For me, the standard is at least four streams of income. Like stated in the Bible, there are four rivers of paradise that flows from the garden of eden, so shall man never lack from four streams of income.
949  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: To chop no be small wahala for the country on: September 18, 2023, 07:14:30 AM
Omo my fellow Niger men and women how una dey see this thing wey dey happen for our country cost of food dey increase on a monthly basis to chop common breakfast fit cost you like 700 - 1000 for management oh. And we dey farm dey produce rice and garri, even most raw materials wey them dey use make process food we get am , how come everything cost like this . Watin we go say be the cause of this one now . E Don vex me all person money now dey go for food . Abeg make una contribute for this matter I know say e dey vex all of us

This matter carry plenty kassala for head. I dey always dey scared to even discuss this kind of matter because I no fit even imagine how I dey take cope on top this economy again. Na why person suppose dey thank God fof the level wey we don reach so far. For basically being alive.

The way e difficult to get money now for the country, e be like person wey wan climb mountain everest with him bare hands and feet. On top of this money and job unemployment, things con dey skyrocket and none wan come down. Even dollar and fuel just dey rise they go at their peaks.

The question be say, how poor man wan take survive like this, when to eat better food on an average now reach ₦1,000 naira per meal. And an equivalent of ₦3,000 per 3 square meal.

With the figures wey dey above, make we take laborer wey dey do strong work for instance. As a laborer you need eat food make u get energy do work. How much be your payment for 1 day wey you work? For this side of the country e no pass ₦2,500 per day. Now make we say, the laborer wan drink tea and bread for breakfast which takes like ₦500. Small lunch come be like ₦800 and dinner like ₦800 too. That na total of ₦2,100 out of the ₦2,500 wey him collect with ₦400 as the change wey remain.

Abeg, when this person wan buy clothes to wear, buy other person needs, pay house rent con even send small back home?

You see, this and more na the reason why people dey sleep under bridge and na why many people dey hostile to each other.
950  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Let's talk about emotions on: September 18, 2023, 05:38:24 AM
According to a popular quote by one of our modern billionaires, he said: if you cannot control your emotions, you cannot control your money. So before you go jump enter any investment for life, make you don understand the calculated risks wey dey inside and how you fit control your emotions with the market trends. I don see situations wey person don carry money put for better investment, but even though the investment was supposed to perform excellently, him use fear withdraw am back. All na because say we dey allow our emotions dey take decisions for us most at times.

But the thing be say investment na one concrete part of business and how emotions fit becloud our judgments on top the investments. Wetin I feel say e dey cause am most of the time na lack of deep knowledge and experience on wetin u wan invest on. Na why I go advise you say, e dey very important make u take decisions based on research, facts, analysis of how the market flows and not by the emotions wey dey drive you at that time.

And since emotion don turn part of human nature, then it is better to keep your emotion impulse in check and focus on the investment with a clean and clear mind.
951  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anonymity provides a level playing field. on: September 18, 2023, 05:15:15 AM
Anonymity can be described in manyfolds. When it's related to the nature of Bitcoin technology in it's self, being anonymous was one of the best practices that allowes the market to thrive since you cannot identify the owner of the next address in your node. You just basically send the transaction to the provider of the address which you should have known in the outside world. Another advantage that the Anonymity in Bitcoin technology has was and still the fact that the contemporary political powers are finding it very difficult to identify the brains behind the technology, therefore, it is difficult to arrest something that's close to nothing - since you don't know them and cannot identify either.

Generally I can say that anonymity has provided a level playing field for the growth and development of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, however, anonymity doesn't necessarily eliminates competition, especially in the face of digital currency marketplace.
952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 18, 2023, 02:25:37 AM
The state government also had a fresh breath of new administration of young people as the cabinet. Well, maybe that might not be enough, but, well, I can say that's part of the motivation to push this idea.

You are right because i read about his manifesto which you shared and I went a little dipper only to find out that he is just 49 years old that's amazing, seeing him work with young people show's that he's going to keep to his promises especially in this his first tenure as the governor I will encourage you to go on and keep pushing till he approves and implement the proposal you have presented to him. I am motivated by this your work to try out something as good as this in my state I hope to get a positive response from the governor of my state even though am not an active member of his political party APC.

It's an effort that's worth trying mate, regardless of your closeness to the government. You can still try. The core believe I had before taking on this move was that, whether they were going to recieve the idea with two hands or not. I think that is the major thing to do. I naturally wear a yellow thinking hat which gives me the optimism to keep pushing the tides and limitations against all odds. I suggest you wear the same hat and make a trial.

Everton vs Arsenal match is interesting game between the two teams and Arsenal are already leading by one goal. The game is drawing to a close, but Everton have yet to take control of the game, making it yet to be confirmed whether the match will be a draw. But I think today's game will ensure this exciting attack for Arsenal. Before half-time there was good attacking going between the two teams, but neither team could score, but after half-time a great attacking move saw Arsenal score and Everton were ahead. If Arsenal can win this match today, they will surely move to the first position of the Premier League table points. Arsenal will move into the position where last season's champions are in first place with 15 points. And if Arsenal win this match against Everton, they will occupy the first position in the points table of the new season.

With this win, Arsenal is already closing ranks with Manchester City. This season of EPL will be a back to back win for Arsenal. It will be a battle between the Gunners and Man City. My advice for Arsenal at this time is to increase it's squad depth. Saka needs a support. While Arteta should bring in more support at the defense to make it stronger. Well done guys!
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 17, 2023, 05:05:42 PM
Even Arsenal in the game that is ongoing it is not doing well, hopefully the nightmare result of last year where they lost 1-0 will not repeat itself and Arsenal will win this game.I have many parlays with Arsenal, and I am only expecting them to win but since first half ended 0-0 I am not hopeful at all.

You don’t have to lose hope yet, if you’ve been following up the match you’ll see that Everton are been pressured and Arsenal are trying very much to break into their defense to score a goal. Anything can happen at anytime, but I don’t see Everton winning this match. The match will either end in a draw or a win for Arsenal.

He doesn't have to loose hope indeed. Trossard has swiftly put the ball in the net... Arsenal is on top gears right now with the 1 goal advantage over Everton. I was pretty sure of the fact that Arsenal will finish this game well enough. At 69 minutes, Arsenal has already broken the 18 yard which stroke a fantastic goal..

This is interesting and a good way to get the fans energized. Now let's sit back to see how the game place out. But with the ball possession so far, it shows Arsenal is in control of the game.

Everton vs Arsenal

It looks like Mikel Arteta is really focused on today's game against Everton at Goodison Park. He's chosen Raya as the goalkeeper instead of Ramsdale. Gabriel Jesus is back and in good shape, but he's starting with Nketiah, and Havertz is on the bench. Let's see what Arsenal can achieve today. I predict they might win 3-1.
The Arsenal game vs Everton is really going to be a tough game for Arsenal, just like I said for Chelsea, predicted a sure draw in that match and it has played for anybody who followed my prediction. This weekend is the best weekend of my prediction,as all the games I predicted played according to my predictions.Arsenal will face Everton in 20 minutes time,in a game that Arteta and Arsenal will be looking forward to breaking the jinx at Goodison park where Everton have always been winning.
Arteta have made some changes in his starting line up knowing how difficult it is to go to Goodison park and get a win.Now I make my prediction in this one again,Arsenal will get an ugly win in this encounter.Maybe it might be 0:1 or 1:2. Let's look forward to an interesting first half of the game.

Man U and Chelsea are like two ropes tied in same hook. They are currently facing same challenges in terms of underperformance. I can't imagine Sterling not able to do the sterling thing today.. But both team really needs to brace up to give the fans the confidence.

On the other side, it's less than 15 minutes and I cannot wait to see how Arsenal will grind Everton in the match. From the formation I'm pretty sure Arsenal wants to finish the game from first half having Martinelli, Nketiah and Saka at the forefront. Jesus will come in at the right time to do his finish. This match will be interesting.
956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 16, 2023, 03:27:28 PM

Manchester United vs Brighton.

An interesting match, with the drama that occurred in the Red Devil's camp. In this match, Ten Hag and De Zerby will clash tactics to win this fight. In this match, even though Manchester United were the hosts, they were not at an advantage because many players were injured. Mount, Varane, Malacia, Luke Shaw, will certainly be absent from this match. Meanwhile, Antony, I don't know what his status is. while Lisandro Martinez, Amrabat, their status is still in doubt because both of them are reportedly experiencing slight problems. but maybe, if Ten Hag will play it. and like it or not, Ten hag will play the available players even though they are not the ideal choice.

Referring to the line-up prediction, Casemiro and McTominay will partner as the pivot. while Eriksen will be an attacking midfielder. Bruno has been shifted to the wing, as has Rashford, and Hojlund will start as a center forward. and what makes me doubt it is United's defense. However, if Casemiro and McTominay are able to play well, they should be able to anticipate every attack that Brighton sets up.

Meanwhile, Brighton, it seems they don't have any problems. Maybe only Evan Ferguson whose status is in doubt, because he is experiencing a few problems. We will see whether Ten Hag can bring his team to victory, or whether De Zerby will take advantage of the momentum to get full points in this match. I don't have a prediction for this match, but what is certain is that Brighton cannot underestimate United even though their situation is not good. the reason is, United has a deadly counterattack.

Well, the game will start soon, let's enjoy it.

The conclusion of this analysis is that I say that Manchester United will continue to show their bad performance since their last match. I saw that the performance of the MU players was very bad, the players had an unstable partnership and in this match they had to play against Brighton, which was a very tough opponent, which according to statistical data shows that Brighton has beaten 3x while Manchester United only beat 2x.
Even though Manchester United will compete at home, there is no guarantee that they can beat Brighton, who are currently in very strong condition, occupying 5th place in the standings with 3 wins and 1 loss, which proves that Brighton will win in this match, but there will be There is little chance of this match ending in a draw but betting on Brighton is more challenging for me.

Brighton is playing on a sprinter mode with Man U. But like seriously, Man U is messing up somehow, with their performance at the previous matches, Man U needs to wake up from this slumber. Brighton isn't only winning but also have more possession, pass accuracy, including shots on target. Man U needs to sit up.

Manchester City are 1 goal behind. Opposing team West Ham team performed exceptionally well last season. And in today's match I noticed something extraordinary about their performance and defense lines tactics. West Ham have improved themselves tremendously. But I still believe Manchester City will bounce back in this match.

The goal header by Ward Prowse was indeed promising... Man city needs to calm down at this point to attack properly without leaving a porous eighteen yard box for the guy to strike. Your eagerness to score will only amount to more counter attacks and assists from Vladimir Coufal. The possession isn't enough, you need the goals too Man City!

Well done West Ham
958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 16, 2023, 10:44:24 AM
I have some concerns though with this because from my understanding and what I'm seeing in the country, the nations government aren't friendly with Bitcoin based on passed laws like the CBN banning all banks from trading Bitcoin with their customers although they don't say it in the open but the energy they're giving isn't looking positive (speaking about the government). I just want to encourage you not to give up if passing through the government doesn't yeild positive results then you can go privately and set up after school programs to teach this children about Bitcoin off the school curriculum because we need to educate these children so that they understand about financial education through Bitcoin from a younger age.

Your concerns are valid mate. However, every government has its own policy directions which will either align or go in contrast with the past government. I'm optimistic that this new government will reverse their policies to accommodate the Bitcoin technology because this is a world-class idea that's evolving across the league of nations. It will take this government few critical thinking to readopt the Bitcoin technology. I also trust that there are team of young and modern technocrats that form this government from the executives, legislatives and the judiciary.

The state government also had a fresh breath of new administration of young people as the cabinet. Well, maybe that might not be enough, but, well, I can say that's part of the motivation to push this idea.

If you say it is mental health, then the next time the GOP is supposed to do is pass as many laws as possible to guarantee anyone who feels depressed, suicidal or fantasies with murder gets the counceling and medication they need to save their life and other's.

Well said mate. I think the negligence from the part of the government is deliberate. Because, why can't they simply stop these things from reoccurring. I mean the government can actually reversed it's policies to put a gun control on the citizens at least for period of time whilst they understudy the cases to make available solutions to the problems.

As of this year, alone, the news have reported over 470 mass shootings in the US according to the Gun Violence Archive. Now, let's pause a minute. From January 1st of this year to 16th of September (today) is approximately 258 days. If we are to remove the 258 days from the total number of mass shootings for the year as provided by the GVA, then there's around an average of 2 shooting incidents in a day in USA. Is this not scary in it's self?  Huh

Japan discharged nuclear waste to the sea. Is it legal? Why didn't UN stop it?
To sum it up, i think it is legal to discharge nuclear wastes to the sea or ocean. I think that's even some of the best practices so far, if and only if, the necessary safety precautions and the guidelines provided by agencies like the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are met.

In the case of Japan, who's a member state of IAEA, the organization issued an approval to the plans to allow Japan release its tons of treated nuclear wastes to the ocean. Since IAEA is an autonomous organization created within the United Nation system, it is enough reasons to show why UN didn't stop the move.

The organization stated that it took them two years to assess the plan before giving the approval since it has met the international safety standards.

You can read more of it here.
