941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not the future, it is the present on: February 25, 2024, 09:12:58 PM
Compared to a few years back I'd say that Bitcoin has made a significant progress in it's adoption as an investment asset, this is a milestone compared to how people were so skeptical of it when it was first created. Having said this i still think that it has not reached its full potential to be called a crypto or Bitcoin era, because the adoption still have a long way to go, many countries have not adopted it as a legal tender and most people that holds Bitcoin today are mainly for investment purposes, not for transaction payments which will can drive it's adoption faster. I'm however positive that in a couple of decades from now, that Bitcoin can be a household name, nations and people will hodle it for investment and payment purposes.
942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Monastery My Opinion on: February 25, 2024, 07:30:30 PM
I've never heard of Bitcoin monestery before and I wish that the OP had shared a link for us that don't know it to have a better understanding of what it's all about,  but from what he said about it, I don't think that it's what we can take seriously, just my opinion. Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency and it's something that we can confirm physically in our wallet and Blockchain, so I don't see anything spiritual or supernatural about it, the internet where Bitcoin transaction is done is an open space and I don't see any reason why it can be attributed to some secrecy or occult, if there's anything like that, then it's yet to be made public and I won't lose sleep over it.
943  Economy / Economics / Re: The influence of cryptocurrencies in economy on: February 25, 2024, 12:56:44 PM
Except for a few countries like El Salvador, that have adoption Bitcoin, on a macro level, the influence of Bitcoin on the economy is mainly on the micro levels, being in the personal economy of individuals, because it's a source of income in terms of using it for investment and trading purposes. Bitcoin was created to carter for decentralized p2p transaction, where two individuals can perform transaction without the intereferance of a third party and centralized authorities like governments, but because of it's slow adoption worldwide and governments trying to regulate it, makes it to be used more as investment and trading by individuals mainly.
944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: February 25, 2024, 11:25:11 AM
The only constant thing in life is change, it's not surprising that women are showing interest in gambling now, they also want to share in the excitement and thrill of staking their hard earned money to win more money or lose everything. I think that it's easier for women to gamble now because they can do so in the comfort of their homes, without prying eyes looking at them when they enter a casino or a sports bet shop alone, because in the past it's considered unladylike in my country to see a woman gambling publicly, but I guess that the modern woman will not care about that perseption, so far it's what she wants to do.

Woman can gamble for different reasons just like men, perhaps for fun or a way to earn income, one time things where very hard for me and my wife financially, and she boldly suggested to me that she wants to engage in gambling with the very small money that we had left, that before we exhaust the money that we'll definitely win and become rich. I had to educate her that if gambling where a get rich quick scheme, that we'll hardly have poor people.
945  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is sharing insights the key to better trading? on: February 25, 2024, 10:20:44 AM
It's said that two good heads are better than one, so it's good to belong to a community that shares the same passion and aims for the same goal, the members can share different strategies, see things from different perspectives, then in the end you'll have to make your own personal choice. Although it can be confusing if experienced mentors in the group sees a perticular strategy from different perspectives, but again it's left for the learners in the group to make research and let whatever strategy they apply in their trading to be their choice, because it's their money, and they'll personally bear the lose alone, if the trade goes against them.
946  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I spoken very smart person he told me secrets of life on: February 25, 2024, 09:48:16 AM
I personally don't like to indulge in so much spirituality or spiritism, or worrying myself so much about reincarnation, because there are too many things to worry about in this present life, although as a Christian I choose to believe in afterlife. I've believe that this reincarnation is the believe of a religious sect called Eckankar, who believes that a person will keep being reborn until they attain perfection, their belief is not a secret. Karl Marx, said that religion is the opium of the masses, so people have to believe in something to give their lives a meaning, so I'll advocate that we try to live right and contribute positively to make this life that we live in and we know a better place than focusing on afterlife and reincarnation that we don't practically know anything about.
947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was your first cryptocurrency? Come share your story! on: February 25, 2024, 08:48:34 AM
;)Speaking of the first time, hey, that’s something I’ll never forget! The same goes for buying cryptocurrencies. When I buy it for the first time, I feel so excited that I feel like I have opened the door to a new world. The mood I felt at that time was simply more exciting than a novel.

I know the feeling, the first cryptocurrency you own can make you feel like you've belonged to a new elite people that owns a special digital currency, something quite rare and special. The first crypto that I owned was obviously Bitcoin, and it was gifted to me, I really treasured it and I'll just open my wallet, just to see how it's price is fluctuating. I guess majority of crypto holders started with Bitcoin because it's the most popular and most recommended of all the cryptos. Some can be unlucky in their first experience and they'll be introduced to some new scam project, these are people who will label all the cryptocurrencies in the market as scam because of their experience, except a knowledgeable person in crypto tells them the difference between a legit and scam projects.
948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Diamond (BCD) on: February 25, 2024, 07:17:29 AM
Hi, Does anyone know about BCD? The website is down and the network seems not working. I wonder if the project has been terminated? If anyone is following, can you share information?

I've checked on their telegram channel and there was a report the site was hacked the telegram channel is full of spam and it seems there's not one part of the team managing the channel anymore if the site is down and the telegram channel is neglected this is the sign that the project is abandoned, you can choose to wait for 2 or 3 days but if nothing happens then its time to dump your tokens, this is an exit scam.

Another chapter of a scam project that has closed down, and another reason why some naive investors will still generalize the crypto space as a scam, my heartfelt sympathy to the OP for how this project turned out, this is part of the risks involved in the market. Investing in many projects in cryptocurrency are are gamble, except for Bitcoin and top altcoins that have proven their reputations in the crypto industry.
949  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Emergency funds is vital. on: February 24, 2024, 05:14:58 PM
Any adult wey get responsibility suppose know say emergency fund de very important because sometimes unforseen expenses fit to arise wey person go need money to quickly solve di problem, example na health matter, di person or im family member fit to fall sick and im go need emergency money to buy drugs or hospital payment, e fit even be accident matter wey go need sharp sharp money to save life. So e de very important to use sense de do our DCA method to hodle Bitcoin, make budget for your income, comot money for basic expenses, comot di one for DCA and keep some percentage as emergency fund, if emergency no happen, carry di emergency fund over to di next month.

No let dem see you finish, so make you no put all your money for Bitcoin, you no de for competition with anybody, for dis life anything can happen at anytime so e de very important to hold some money for hand, Incase dem say e don happen, so you go fit answer your name.
950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This meme is a good investment to hold, don't miss it on: February 24, 2024, 03:37:47 PM
It's a bull season and I expect to see more projects and shilling like this, better to be more careful.
I can't see any good about this new meme token and I think OP is just trying to hype his own project. If you are looking for a good investment right now, then choose the best coin today because they are the one who will pump that much this year, and will continue the bull trend. Meme token is seasonal, and their season is about to begin again so expect more scam or fake projects especially with the meme tokens.

It's to be expected, Bitcoin is pumping to bull run and investors are buying so they won't miss out on the profits, so it's a time for new projects to flood the crypto market, so that they can get investors to buy in the hope of cashing in big profits like in Bitcoin. The only problem with the new projects like these memecoins is that there are more scam projects than the legit ones and investors must have an eagle's eyes to be able to research and perhaps know the legit from scams, unfortunately this coin that the OP presented in this thread is receiving a negative trust rating. If the OP is certain that the coin is legit, then the developers needs to take the remarks given into consideration and work on a better presentation.
951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Planning to invest in Bitcoin to perform Hajj. on: February 24, 2024, 02:03:09 PM

What you just said is what we call the DCA method or dollar cost average which is the process of acquiring Bitcoin through regular intervals instead of buying Bitcoin one time big time. Usually DCA method is preferred because it can mitigate risks investment brings. I think it is a good idea that you have shared to your mom about bitcoin and she is also willing to participate. I do not know how much you need to perform Hajj but I believe that you can earn profits through this method.

I hope that your mother's wish come true. Sending all the best for you and your mother.

Infact the DCA method that you mentioned is the best strategy especially for average income earners to be accumulating Bitcoin, to keep hodling until the time when it's needed for any perticular project, plus Bitcoin is one of the best investment that anybody can engage in because if held for a long term, it'll keep increasing in value thereby adding returns on the investment capital. I'm glad that the OP has crypto knowledge and imparted it to his mum, so that they can have a long term sayings plan for the mum's Hajj. Saving in Bitcoin, is by far better than keeping money in the bank, because Bitcoin guarantees the holder many times over ROI in the future, while money in the bank can only give a minimum interest. Good luck to the OP and his mum as they plan for her hajj.
952  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Branches of Economics is there? on: February 24, 2024, 12:25:59 PM

Finally which branch of economics did Satoshi Nakamoto follow himself?

There there different types of economics but they all fall into two categories being microeconomics and macroeconomics. Micro talks about personal economics of an individual, a community or an organization, the way they get income and how they plan their expenditures, the way they react to supply and demand of goods, finally how they're able to make a scale of preference and arrange their needs in the order of importance. Micro talks about the aggregate economy, that is the government, the way they plan and structure their economy.

I wouldn't know for sure about the economic parten of Satoshi Nakamoto, but I'll say that it'll be oscillating economics, this is because Bitcoin was designed to have seasons. When it's getting to bull run, many investors will enter the market and be buying Bitcoin, because of the anticipation of the bull season, when price reaches ATH which is the equilibrium price, with time price will start to drop because it can't go further up, then bear season will gradually start to set in. As price continues to go down, many investors will be exiting the market and price will fall, then the bul run will start to build up again. This is why it's called oscillating economics, because it's programed to be rotating in seasons.
953  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: February 24, 2024, 11:04:30 AM
When he had shared this I had advice him not to do the gambling in both in drugs or early morning games.Because we should not play the game at the early morning, because we are beginning the day.If the game give the loss in the early morning, the entire day will goes in a negative vibe. The new gamblers should take it as the lesson to avoid loss in gambling.

Firstly I think that if your friend is taking hard drugs that it's not right because it's dangerous to his mental health, and being in the influence to gamble doesn't really make sense, ofcourse a gambler can have a few drinks to be in a lighter mood to gamble, but being controlled by the influence of hard drug will surely make the person to gamble irresponsibly.

Having an appropriate time and mood to gamble is a personal decision, the time and mood that suits one gambler can defer for another, so if a perticular time doesn't work for your friend, then it's better to change to another time. Generally I think that it's not advisable to gamble when you're sleepy, because you can mistakenly bet more than the amount that you perhaps budgeted for, gambling should be done when someone is wide awake. I personally wouldn't gamble first thing in the morning, it'll be better to do so much later in the day when I'm more relaxed.
954  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What can I do to be successful in trading with my small capital on: February 24, 2024, 10:11:08 AM

Trading is not promising. Get yourself a good job.

Then use trading as an alternative means. Start with small money and increase it only if you trade and gain than lose over long time period.

Undiluted truth is not palatable to hear, because it's not sugarcoated with any feel good story, what you said is the undenying truth, that crypto trading is not promising, because of the high risks that leads to loses in it, it's better for the trader to have a job that guarantees steady income and let the trading to be an alternative means of generating income. Why it's not easy for a newbie trader that doesn't have sufficient capital for trading is because they can be unlucky and lose their capital in placing trade, this is why it's not good to solely depends on crypto trading as a sole source of income. I advice the OP to have an experienced crypto mentor who'll tutor him and when he has increased his knowledge, then he can start with the amount that he can afford to loose.
955  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What happened to the Nigerian Currency? on: February 24, 2024, 09:14:05 AM
The rate at which the naira is devaluing now, especially comparing it with a stable currency like the US dollar, is very alarming, and it has caused the prices of goods and services in the country to be skyrocketing everyday, we're really hoping that the government will be proactive and find a lasting solution for the dwindling economy. A lot of factors are responsible for this, example is the new administration entered and removed fuel subsidy and it made the price of fuel to increase about %300, so the effect of this became gradually increase in the prices of goods and services, plus over reliance on imported goods, coupled with corruption in government. We in Nigeria, are hopeful that with time the economy will stabilize and our fiat currency will begin to appreciate, so the prices of goods and services will start to come down.
956  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start preparing for the next bear run. on: February 24, 2024, 08:24:36 AM
The image below explains it all, I also wonder why people prefer it when bull run is fast approaching, you have all the time to buy when it's very cheap but decides to buy when there is fomo in the market already.

I guess this people aren't really aware of how Bitcoin have been able to prove itself over the last circles yet they don't really trust it. well lets keep sharing the Bitcoin knowledge to see how fast such notion can be reduced.

The picture really shows how most Bitcoin investors react to price before deciding to buy, they're relaxed when price is very low, but the moment when the price starts to massively pump, they'll suddenly realize that they don't want to miss out and starts to buy at the high price. Another reason why more people buy at a higher price is because there's more Bitcoin adoption when we're heading to bull run, that's when the awearness is more, because they'll be hearing how those that have been hodling will get their ROI in bull run, so they'll also rush to invest despite the high price, so they won't totally miss out. Most people that buys Bitcoin when the price is pumping before bull run are mainly new investors, experienced investors won't be that naive.
957  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cryptospace influencer fight!!! Bitboy versus More Light!!!!!! on: February 24, 2024, 07:26:48 AM
Respect to Bitboy. He got it done and it was easily the most entertaining fight of the night. I didn’t like the guy before because his content is shitcoins and his personal life is disgraceful but he deserves respect for tonight.

He also said he was fighting for Bitcoin and Stake. Smiley

So they've fought already and obviously going by your statement the Bitboy, guy won the tournament, congratulations to him, I didn't watch the match because I'm not familiar with the contestants and the tournament. So I'm wondering if it's a real fight like the ones of professional boxers and kickboxers or some soft tournament for amateurs? And what's the impact of the tournament regarding cryptocurrency,? I guess that because they're crypto influencers that is why their fight is being discussed here, although I think that this topic would've been more suited in the gambling discussion sub board, since it's focus is on a game.
958  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Asides Government na we be our own problem for this country. on: February 23, 2024, 07:11:15 PM
Abeg make you no blame person wey plant pepper for im backyard and im come de increase di price wen im wan sale am, evendo say no be imported goods wey concern dollar and naira matter, di fact be say if di pepper seller sale at normal price and im come de add money to buy wetin im need for market, na lose for am. So normal normal as di prices of other goods de increase for market, everybody go de increase dem own too, because clearly di currency value do depreciate, and as e continue to de depreciate, na so prices of everything go de go high, weda na imported or locally made or grown. Na our government suppose wake up and do di needful to gradually de stabilize our economy.
959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency. on: February 23, 2024, 06:33:46 PM
Just looking at the wave of cryptocurrency and going with the rate of adoption, where do you all see the future of cryptocurrency in the next 20years or more from now. Are transactions going to be more of in cryptocurrency than fiat in all ramifications of society as it concerns finance?

I doubt that we can achieve a total cryptocurrency dominance over fiat currencies in the world by the next twenty years, this is because fiat currencies are the symbols and identities of countries and the whole nations of the world will want their legal tender to be their main transaction currency. This can mainly be possible if the whole countries of the world or atleast the superpowers decides to adopt one world currency and decides that it'll be a digital currency, then it can be Bitcoin. Probably in the next 100 years or above, maybe people will become tired of centralized currency, and they might advocate for crypto currency to take over from fiat.
960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Surfaced: Email conversation between Satoshi and Adam Back on: February 23, 2024, 05:34:06 PM
I am certain i have seen this message a long time now. Although am just wondering  why they wanted these message to remain private yet it go exposed to everyone. Although i suspected Adam black to be Satoshi writing a message to himself. So that when he goes anonymous he may see through the eyes of Adam Black.

I guess that since Satoshi, won't come out and disclaim any impersonation on his person, then we're free to let our imaginations to be doing the guess work, I say this because I like your angle to it, that Adam Black, might be Satoshi, he'll manifest physically as Adam, while his alias will remain the anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto, makes some sense. Anyways whoever Satoshi, is, it's good for the decentralized Bitcoin that he created, which is all about freedom and privacy, he should know that Bitcoin is doing great, being the best valuable digital asset for our investments.
