941  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: February 27, 2024, 09:54:42 AM

Is it possible for him to easily recover his money back or is losses like that very much a part of the trading experience?

I personally think that crypto trading and gambling have more in common than what makes them different, the two share a common factor which is risk, although gambling risks can be said to be higher compared to trading risks, nevertheless they're both very profitable if their risks comes out positively. The difference that I see is that crypto trading has a parten and can be technically analyzed, so traders atleast knows how the market works and what drives the fundamental analysis, but it's not so in gambling, we gamble and depend on luck factor that we can not analyze to determine the outcome, except for sports bet where we can predict the team that'll win.

Your friend shouldn't chase loses, because he can become greedy and lose more money, so it's better for him to trade with the amount that he can afford to loose.
942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The power of consistency, patience and perseverance . on: February 27, 2024, 08:38:22 AM
Inorder to grow and be perfect in anything that we're engaged in we need these three attributes that you mentioned, consistency, patience and perceverance, so we can overcome obstacles along the way to our goals. This is an anonymous forum and we have experienced members with different temperaments, so for a newbie to learn from their knowledge, he needs to understand these three attributes, so he won't take any criticism personal, but focus on taping from their experience to increase his crypto knowledge. Newbies that enters this forum with the sole aim of getting merit and ranking up, will miss the learning process, they should focus on increasing their knowledge and manifesting it in quality posts, merits will come eventually.
943  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Unable to proceed in life atm, getting betatized... on: February 27, 2024, 08:00:15 AM
What you're experiencing is a phase of life, because from your post it's obvious that you're young, so I want to let you know that you're not alone, most people passed through that stage, it's probably depression, because things are not working out for you the way you've structured your life. It's good that you're opening up about this feelings because you'll feel lighter as you do, what I'll tell you is that you need to be strong bro, tough times don't last but tough people do, if you continue in this path, you'll probably end up a drug addict or worse become suicidal. Get a hubby, engage yourself in a recreational activity, maybe choose a sports, join a gym that you'll be active in, and let your loved ones know what you're going through. I hope that you'll meet that special woman that will make feel loved and feel good about life.
944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Previous ATH achieve before bull? on: February 27, 2024, 07:16:26 AM
Being the first bull run that I'll be experiencing, I've often asked myself that question about when is the actual bull run will happening, because from my observation there's no specific date to it, although I don't worry myself about it because the important thing is to keep hodling till price hopefully reaches the estimated $100k ATH. Although Bitcoin price has significantly increased from what it was last year, but from what I've yet observation it's after halving that the main bull run will gradually start to happen, until it eventually reaches it's ATH.
945  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: What if the naira currency takes its shape again on: February 26, 2024, 05:12:26 PM
Aldo people wey de earn for dollar get some advantage unto say as naira de devalue e no de affect dem money for dollar, because if dem change di dollar to naira, e go plenty for dem hand, meanwhile people wey hold naira, as di currency de devalue na so di purchasing power de devalue also. But make people wey de earn for dollar no too laugh people wey de earn for naira, because if you change that your dollar to naira, you go still take dat plenty naira buy only small items. Imagine garri wey de full one paint rubber wey be 800 naira before, now na 2,400 naira, so dat plenty money wey you change to naira , na still small thing e go buy.

For your question say weda naira, go take a sharp turn to reduce in comparison to dollar, make you comot mind, even if prices of goods go come down, na very small small like snail waka, I seriously doubt say e go happen within a few years. So make everybody double im hustle, no play play for dis country.
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where did u put your Money ? on: February 26, 2024, 02:23:49 PM

For my self i have 60% of assets on BTC
But i wonder on which coin you have more % invested ?

Because we're headed to bull run and Bitcoin is looking good to be very bullish in this coming season, it's current  price is over $50k compared to what it was before the last quarter of last year, shows that it'll surely surpass the $100k that some analysts are predicting it to be by the end of this year to the first quarter of next year. Why I'm giving you this statistics is that if I were you I'll definitely go beyond investing 60% of the total money that I want to use to purchase cryptocurrencies, I'll raise the bar to invest in Bitcoin with 90% of my crypto investment capital. I'll invest so much more in Bitcoin because it's the most reputable cryptocurrency that will guarantee my ROI, then I can use the remaining 10% to source for other projects, because they won't be as sure as Bitcoin in this bull run.
947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing on: February 26, 2024, 01:23:18 PM
We need to understand one thing that we should never trust any politician they don't do things without their own benefit. As per the statement I don't think is any sort of acceptance but rather a pure manipulative statement and I think we shouldn't be quick in judging or trusting any politicians as it's all the vote politics and they can do anything for votes.

Majority of government and politicians don't like Bitcoin and crypto, you can understand that from the atrocious regulations laid by Indan government.

In an election year, politicians are very open to most ideas that a presented to them, it doesn't really matter if they don't like it, so far as there's a large number of voters that subscribe to it, they'll just play along until they enter office and completely ignore whatever it is. I'm sure that Donald Trump, has an idea of how he wants to run his government, if he wins, and if Bitcoin is not in it, then he'll just be answering questions related to it politically.

What I know for sure is that Bitcoin has come to stay and it's adoption is increasing everyday, so no matter the personal opinions of world leaders and influencial individuals that doesn't support it, they'll be forced to accept it's popular adoption by the masses. Inasmuch as Bitcoin adoption is driving by the younger generation, it'll eventually get the respect it deserves as a decentralized digital asset.
948  Economy / Economics / Re: China are back to mining Bitcoin. on: February 26, 2024, 11:58:03 AM
You are wrong about the ban lifting, it still exists, BTC mining is not legalized in China instead if one gets caught, he will be given punishment, and that's so severe, last time I heard the news that Yi Xiao a provincial level official got lifetime prisoned just because he supported BTC mining while the government has banned it. (source). Who knows the real agenda behind this punishment but it sets a great fear among small miners.

I suggest you to give the link to the source from where you get the knowledge of ban eradication. You know spreading false news among people who could react to such news actively and might make financial decisions as well, comes under manipulation which is not encouraged by the forum rules. I assume you are understanding the level of

I just did a little research now based on your comment and from what I understand China, has not lifted the ban placed on mining in their country, so I wonder where the OP got his information from. As you said, he should provide a valid link to support his claim, so he won't perhaps unintentionally give a misleading information. From what I can understand so far, the people that are engaging in Bitcoin mining in china, are doing so illegally because according to the report from where I read in Google, it's still very much illegal in their country.
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: February 26, 2024, 10:58:03 AM
Gambling can be addictive so it's very important to have personal rules and regulations to guide you when you gamble, so I'll start with what you shouldn't avoid when gambling, which is very essential, it's discipline, without it, whatever you list to avoid in gambling can be what you'll be doing.

The first thing to avoid in gambling is what is continuously advised in this section of the forum, to gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, so we must be disciplined and avoid going beyond what we can afford to loose, because gambling is risky and addictive, you can lose all your money in the process. The second thing to avoid in gambling is chasing loses, once you've exhausted the amount that you budgeted for the day's gambling, it's better to call it a day and gamble another day, because if you're losing and continues gambling in the hope of recovering what you've lost, then you'd be surprised that you can exhaust all your money in the process.
950  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Communication as part of life in the society on: February 26, 2024, 10:16:36 AM
I don't know what this life will be without communication, no interaction, no conveying of messages, it would be total chaos, because you will order for a sack of grain and a sack of rocks will be delivered to you. Communication is basic and very essential for there to be harmony in the family and the society at large, and communication often determines the outcome of any discussion or debates, a good communication skills can calm a tensed or rowdy debate and a bad communication skill can disrupt a peaceful atmosphere. To function effectively humans needs good communication skills to get the best results in any situation that they find themselves.
951  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Microstrategy’s X account gets hacked, $400k stolen through phishing scam on: February 26, 2024, 09:10:06 AM
This is the link to the story OP is talking about, for those who are yet to see or read it:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/microstrategy-x-account-hacked-phishing-scam

Gullible people will always fall for things like this, i know it is easier for people to fall for this type of scam because of the account it was posted from, but we have learnt from the past that the accounts of companies and prominent people have been hacked and used to scam quite a lot of people. So do not easily believe all posts about airdrops or giveaway, notwithstanding the account it is coming from.

Having said that, i think these companies and institutions should do better to secure their social media accounts, because it becomes believable when scams like these are posted from their official page. I even think the victims can start a class action against MicroStrategy in this case.

Thanks for sharing this link, I've read the full details of what happened, and it's indeed very sad how these hackers will maliciously use reputable companies that have gained people's trust to easily manipulate them into clicking phishing sites where the hackers will eventually gain access to their wallets and steal from them.

It has gone beyond only being careful about clicking unfamiliar links, people should also be very careful and shouldn't easily trust when they see any giveaways from reliable and trusted sites, because of the rising cases of them being hacked.
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AppleCoin on: February 26, 2024, 08:05:11 AM
Does anybody know the value of Applecoin

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/applechain/#Chart

You can directly see the price of this coin by entering this link and you can also see which exchange it is listed on. I have never heard of this coin I came to know about this coin through your post and searched it on coin market cap and found it to be $0.0006002

I think this coin came to the market recently.
If you are thinking of investing in this coin then investing here will be very risky for you. Because after listing this coin the price of this coin crashed a lot.

Thanks for sharing the link, there's nothing too spectacular about it, investors that wants to buy it should know that the crypto space is full of risks and they should prepare themselves to accept whatever outcome that the project brings, whether profit or lose. If it's not Bitcoin and a few top altcoins that are trustworthy, investing in anything else in cryptocurrency is a gamble, because most of them are scams, anyway I won't put my money in this applecoin, I'll rather hold cryptos that have reputable in the market.
953  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Why human investment dy rewarding on: February 25, 2024, 09:59:39 PM
Di best investment wey person fit to make na to invest in another person so that dem life go de better, but if you de help another person based on say make dem help you back in di future, den na hypertension you wan give yourself. Help people as your power reach and no expect anything in return, if dem make am and remember to acknowledge you, all good, but if dem choose to de ungrateful, make you no let am bother you because na you choose to impact people life positively.

Dem say if only one person get money for family, di person still de poor, because every family member go de depend on di person, and if you no help you don become enemy with dem, so you go choose one serious person to help and wen dat person don establish, im go choose another person to help too, before you know, di whole family go de financially independent. Aldo some family and friends go squander any money wey you give dem to beta dem lives, in dat case na grace you go need to treat dem matter. So di fulfilment of helping odas na to de happy say dem de succeed.
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not the future, it is the present on: February 25, 2024, 09:12:58 PM
Compared to a few years back I'd say that Bitcoin has made a significant progress in it's adoption as an investment asset, this is a milestone compared to how people were so skeptical of it when it was first created. Having said this i still think that it has not reached its full potential to be called a crypto or Bitcoin era, because the adoption still have a long way to go, many countries have not adopted it as a legal tender and most people that holds Bitcoin today are mainly for investment purposes, not for transaction payments which will can drive it's adoption faster. I'm however positive that in a couple of decades from now, that Bitcoin can be a household name, nations and people will hodle it for investment and payment purposes.
955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Monastery My Opinion on: February 25, 2024, 07:30:30 PM
I've never heard of Bitcoin monestery before and I wish that the OP had shared a link for us that don't know it to have a better understanding of what it's all about,  but from what he said about it, I don't think that it's what we can take seriously, just my opinion. Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency and it's something that we can confirm physically in our wallet and Blockchain, so I don't see anything spiritual or supernatural about it, the internet where Bitcoin transaction is done is an open space and I don't see any reason why it can be attributed to some secrecy or occult, if there's anything like that, then it's yet to be made public and I won't lose sleep over it.
956  Economy / Economics / Re: The influence of cryptocurrencies in economy on: February 25, 2024, 12:56:44 PM
Except for a few countries like El Salvador, that have adoption Bitcoin, on a macro level, the influence of Bitcoin on the economy is mainly on the micro levels, being in the personal economy of individuals, because it's a source of income in terms of using it for investment and trading purposes. Bitcoin was created to carter for decentralized p2p transaction, where two individuals can perform transaction without the intereferance of a third party and centralized authorities like governments, but because of it's slow adoption worldwide and governments trying to regulate it, makes it to be used more as investment and trading by individuals mainly.
957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: February 25, 2024, 11:25:11 AM
The only constant thing in life is change, it's not surprising that women are showing interest in gambling now, they also want to share in the excitement and thrill of staking their hard earned money to win more money or lose everything. I think that it's easier for women to gamble now because they can do so in the comfort of their homes, without prying eyes looking at them when they enter a casino or a sports bet shop alone, because in the past it's considered unladylike in my country to see a woman gambling publicly, but I guess that the modern woman will not care about that perseption, so far it's what she wants to do.

Woman can gamble for different reasons just like men, perhaps for fun or a way to earn income, one time things where very hard for me and my wife financially, and she boldly suggested to me that she wants to engage in gambling with the very small money that we had left, that before we exhaust the money that we'll definitely win and become rich. I had to educate her that if gambling where a get rich quick scheme, that we'll hardly have poor people.
958  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is sharing insights the key to better trading? on: February 25, 2024, 10:20:44 AM
It's said that two good heads are better than one, so it's good to belong to a community that shares the same passion and aims for the same goal, the members can share different strategies, see things from different perspectives, then in the end you'll have to make your own personal choice. Although it can be confusing if experienced mentors in the group sees a perticular strategy from different perspectives, but again it's left for the learners in the group to make research and let whatever strategy they apply in their trading to be their choice, because it's their money, and they'll personally bear the lose alone, if the trade goes against them.
959  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I spoken very smart person he told me secrets of life on: February 25, 2024, 09:48:16 AM
I personally don't like to indulge in so much spirituality or spiritism, or worrying myself so much about reincarnation, because there are too many things to worry about in this present life, although as a Christian I choose to believe in afterlife. I've believe that this reincarnation is the believe of a religious sect called Eckankar, who believes that a person will keep being reborn until they attain perfection, their belief is not a secret. Karl Marx, said that religion is the opium of the masses, so people have to believe in something to give their lives a meaning, so I'll advocate that we try to live right and contribute positively to make this life that we live in and we know a better place than focusing on afterlife and reincarnation that we don't practically know anything about.
960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was your first cryptocurrency? Come share your story! on: February 25, 2024, 08:48:34 AM
;)Speaking of the first time, hey, that’s something I’ll never forget! The same goes for buying cryptocurrencies. When I buy it for the first time, I feel so excited that I feel like I have opened the door to a new world. The mood I felt at that time was simply more exciting than a novel.

I know the feeling, the first cryptocurrency you own can make you feel like you've belonged to a new elite people that owns a special digital currency, something quite rare and special. The first crypto that I owned was obviously Bitcoin, and it was gifted to me, I really treasured it and I'll just open my wallet, just to see how it's price is fluctuating. I guess majority of crypto holders started with Bitcoin because it's the most popular and most recommended of all the cryptos. Some can be unlucky in their first experience and they'll be introduced to some new scam project, these are people who will label all the cryptocurrencies in the market as scam because of their experience, except a knowledgeable person in crypto tells them the difference between a legit and scam projects.
