941  Economy / Speculation / Re: Despite all the FUD Bitcoin proved to be worth it! on: March 01, 2017, 02:32:53 PM
I personally can't believe that people actually hear what FUDers have to say. We should be careful more then ever at this point though, price increase could make some people (exchanges) greedy and that's worst then FUDers IMO as It could result in inside jobs and we don't want that for now.
942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to recover bitcoin through private address. Bitcoin "lost" in out of sync. on: March 01, 2017, 01:49:10 PM
Thanks Madgamer, I write listreceivedbyaddress <0> [true] but I get an "Error: Error parsing JSON:<0>"

Thanks Hi-Tec I will also try this...

Update : I tried listreceivedbyaddress [1] [true], it's running and I get a "JSON value is not an integer as expected (code -1)"

Update 2 : Same with listreceivedbyaddress [1] [false].

I went on coinbase to check to which address I use to have sent the bitcoins and I tried the dumpprivkey... But same as before, I get Invalid bitcoin address...

You don't need to use the <> and [ ], this should be the command you run:

Code:
listreceivedbyaddress 0 true

I have just tested it and It works just fine. All information's listed should be easy to understand and read.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to recover bitcoin through private address. Bitcoin "lost" in out of sync. on: March 01, 2017, 01:33:52 PM
I suggest using the listreceivedbyaddress command. It will list the addresses that received transactions, If you want to list everything then set the first argument to 0 and second to true. If you need more info then I recommend taking a look at the wiki regarding the calls list.
944  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC card for paypal on: February 28, 2017, 12:25:49 PM
Any service could do the job really as long as they offer a Visa card and not MasterCard, I would go with Coinizy If I had to choose personally but the card is virtual only, If you want a physical card then CoinsBank or Bitpay (Shift) card If you are from the U.S.
945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 ChronoBank ICO is over! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: February 28, 2017, 11:01:05 AM
I added my Liqui TIME address to my Chronobank account in order to withdraw, as far as I know the address is unique and only used by me so I should receive the funds with no issues? I know that It's not recommended to keep them on an exchange for long time, I'm not planning to do that.
946  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Trusted Currency Exchange Shops on: February 28, 2017, 10:42:15 AM
It's easy to spot a scam on exchanges honestly unless they are running a scam for long term like Mt.gox did, usually the trading volume should be a good way to know If you should continue or stop trading on that website.
I suggest using Bitstamp or Kraken as they are both well known and running for years now, uploading your ID and personal documents is a must though.
947  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitrated: Bringing trust back to Bitcoin on: February 28, 2017, 06:39:47 AM
I heard about the service months ago, I made an account but never used it due to lack in the userbase. I personally don't think that most of the community will use it even If they need an escrow because everyone became paranoid about third party services and prefer to use escrows from the forum instead.
948  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Irreversible payment methods? Protection for sellers advice needed on: February 27, 2017, 06:05:43 PM
PerfectMoney or cash could both be a great choice. I also find it okay to use payment methods that are hard to reverse, Payza for example which was not mentioned on the bitcoin wiki is hard to reverse and could lead to termination of the account. Neteller is also not that easy to chargeback If the funding of the account was not done by a credit card so as long as you ask for the proof of funding, you shouldn't face any problems.
949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Community vote for bitcoin code ? on: February 27, 2017, 05:03:05 PM
I didn't start on the early days so I'm not sure really sure how things were before, the miners had the ability to do stuff just like now, being able to approve changes on the bitcoin core code?

I wanted to bring this idea and see what people actually think, instead of waiting miners to approve SegWit why not make the community do so since bitcoin is decentralized and not everyone is really able to run a miner somehow by proving the ownership of a specific amount of bitcoins?
I know, some people might say that this could easily be faked by bots sending bitcoins to each other etc... but something should be developed for this, like locking the bitcoins until the vote finishes.
950  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Platforms that sell bitcoin? on: February 27, 2017, 02:56:46 PM
There is nothing worst then using a centralized website where providing your ID and personal info is a must. I personally would prefer with ATMs or trading with individuals on some forums. Exchanges are only an option when the price is currently increasing and you need a fast way to sell and make profit.
951  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think of Epay.com on: February 27, 2017, 02:06:02 PM
If you are the owner of the website then you may want to explain why you asked a question on Quora regarding this. I haven't used your services yet, but I would definitely consider doing so If you guys have any plans adding Skrill and Neteller for example. Do you have any measures for protecting users from chargeback?
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO obligations on: February 26, 2017, 05:57:38 PM
Hello everyone, I apologize if my question sounds silly.
Please tell me how the project team is responsible to the community?
As the project team can be punished for not fulfilling obligations?
Is there any guarantee that it will not disappear with the money collected?
Huh Huh

There absolutely no guarantee. You should use your brain before investing, I will take Komodo as an example here, their project may be good however the fact that their team is totally anonymous and not known to the public makes me don't want to invest. Usually, If the project has known faces on the cryptocurrency community then people will invest otherwise people won't take risks.
953  Other / Meta / Re: Separate online list for staff on: February 26, 2017, 01:28:33 PM
I'm afraid that enabling this will just make the spammy bots smarter, they could somehow check If the moderators are online or not and start doing their thing once they know they no one can stop for a certain period of time. It's also possible to hide your online status in your account settings too so If those can't work together, I don't see the point.
954  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: February 26, 2017, 01:04:34 PM
@Blockchain, could you please correct the direcrt download link for the mac desktop wallet ? I tried downloading it off the website, but its not available in the mac store in US, and the github link on the website is not available either.

Blockchain.info projects are always open source and as you mentioned both GitHub and Mac Store links are not functional and nothing available on the repository. I also see that the wallets page is not updated anymore even though Blockchain switched to HD months ago, I don't think there is any plans to bring the wallet back to desktop.
955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopoulos Lays Out the 3 Pillars of Bitcoin Mass Adoption (2014) on: February 26, 2017, 12:01:32 PM
UI issues? I guess that Exodus fixed that problem, and I doubt that the old wallets such as Electrum & Multibit have any plans to change their UI though, It doesn't look like their first priority & TumbleBit should fix the anonymity problem, don't know If a soft fork is required or not. Now, for the price, I believe that most of people are using bitcoin just because of the instability because they are seeing it as an investment more then a currency, not to mention that big whales manipulate the market as well so stability could be something hard to get IMO.
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Chain of Points - Transforming Loyalty Into Rewards on: February 25, 2017, 01:45:34 PM
I see no way to make an account in your website at the moment ? I also want to know, by participating in the ICO and actually buying the POINTS tokens, will the holders get any advantage besides the fact that they help growing this project ? and what cryptocurrencies are you planning to accept in the crowdsale ?
957  Economy / Economics / Re: What would be effect of denial from ETF on: February 25, 2017, 12:04:32 PM
A lot of people right now believe that the current price increase is because of the ETF, If that that claim comes out to be correct then we shouldn't expect anything but a huge dump after the ETF disapproval and without forgetting that the Chinese exchange will open withdrawals once again. I don't think we should run to conclusions yet though, even If our chances are low.
958  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Online Store who accept bitcoin ?? on: February 25, 2017, 10:28:54 AM
In addition to Shopawl that was mentioned above, I suggest checking Newegg but keep in mind that they only accept bitcoin on the items sold by them and not everything and If you want to buy from Amazon then you could use Purse.io and Glyde If you mostly want to buy phones.
959  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info new interface on: February 25, 2017, 09:49:19 AM
I saw the changes and I don't really like them, they could've done it better and the logo doesn't really have a meaning. The transactions that were in the first page are in real time transactions and has nothing to do with the unconfirmed ones and yes they got removed from the site.
960  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinsbank.com a scam or not? Have your say Let's hear you!!! on: February 25, 2017, 09:05:19 AM
They have been advertising on the forums for two years, I have used them myself and I can't say anything bad about them expect the fact that the support takes time to answer in their thread so you better contact them on the website, their trading volume is also big enough to make you use their services and trust them for your money, not to mention the promotions they have from time to time.
