941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the reasons behind this picture being used to depict Satoshi? on: September 07, 2023, 08:54:32 PM
As others have stated the actual reason, and I appreciate them doing so, I have to say I feel bad for this guy.  As far as I've been told, he was harassed quite a bit over this ordeal.  I know someone who's actually met him and I was told that he's actually come to accept the whole thing, and is sort of "enjoying" the celebrity aspect of it.  Which makes me feel better about all the grief he had to go through in the beginning.
942  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: September 07, 2023, 08:51:41 PM
I should also add I have now received the 0.4574 BTC from titan for my unfunded (2fa) 1BTC silver coin as well.

Thanks for sharing. Afaik you are the first to confirm this. With the known caveat of 45 cents on the dollar, this is the first 2fa coin I know of to be redeemed in years. I know others are in the process of looking over and signing the required waivers.

I just successfully redeemed two coins as well. 45 cents on the dollar. glad to be done with this mess.

I'm glad to hear this.  This is of course what this thread has been all about, helping people get their money (albeit at a fraction of what it should actually be).

Is there still no one who can share what was discussed on the second webinar? Would be really helpful if someone had a recording, I know (or belive) Tim said he would have recording of each one available...
943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take to play casino? on: September 07, 2023, 08:48:31 PM
A mixture of both.  In any sort of game there's always going to be some level of luck involved.  Of course some games require more luck than others.  In terms of card games for example, there's a lot of skill involved when it comes to playing say blackjack or Texas Hold'em.  But in games like roulette, there's a small amount of skill needed but luck factors in much more so.  When it comes to slots, it's almost pure luck. So..just depends.

Alright lets talk some games this weekend.  I think I'm staying away from tonight's game, I just don't know what to expect..but here's the lines I like for Sunday..

-2.5 Bengals over Cleveland. I love the Browns this year, but Cincy is elite.
-5 Jags over Colts. Jags are on the up and up, colts...ehhhh
-5.5 Vikings over Bucs
+3 Miami over Chargers

These are the spreads I like anyhow.  Few others that I like, but I need to see a game or two from certain teams before I feel confident throwing down on them.
945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: presuring someone into Bitcoin investment on: September 06, 2023, 06:37:32 PM
People shouldn't be pressured in to doing anything other than being pressured to "do their homework".  As a financial advisor I'm constantly pressuring people to simply look at their financial situations and do homework on investments and things of that nature, never pressuring them to take action to purchase anything, but simply taking that action to see if purchasing investments made since for their situation.

I'm glad things worked out for your Mom in this sense.
946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 06, 2023, 06:34:15 PM
I personally have never been addicted to gambling, but I do have some very close friends who once have been or currently are addicted to gambling.  It's heartbreaking as I know all to well how strong of a hold addiction can have on people.

Of those friends of mine whom were addicted that now are "better", I've simply seen a lot counseling (seeing someone for one on ones) as well as having called gambling addiction hotlines.  You've got to really want to it though.  Those who truly wanted to fix things put in the effort and it paid off.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Socialtournaments-A way to stop gambling addiction on: September 06, 2023, 06:31:18 PM
This kind of reminds me of stock market trading platforms that allow you to buy/sell/trade stocks as if it were in a real account, but it's just a "for fun" or "practice" account.  I utilized this once but just found myself not taking it seriously since it wasn't the real thing.  I think it might work for SOME people, but feel overall it won't help most addicted gamblers.

However I'm glad you brought this up as I think he could certainly help some people.
948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 06, 2023, 06:29:22 PM
Everyone was snagging all the good wide receivers and running backs so I decided to snag a decent qb before they were all taken. I would have taken Burrow but with him being day to day I didn't want to risk him being out multiple weeks.

Oh shit if you had taken Burrows over Hurts we would have NEVER let you live that down!!!! Grin

You did make a QB run happen sooner and caused me to lose my train of thought and change tactics which ended up causing em to timeout and get Evans instead of Robinson so even though you didn't plan it your ripple had a huge butterfly effect! Cheesy

IMO Burrow is the second best QB on the planet, and I don't think it would have been that crazy to take him over Hurts.  Sure Hurts provides more upside due to his rushing ability, but I'm not ready to crown him a star player yet until I see another year or two of proven passing ability.  Burrow has more than proved that, as the most accurate passer in the league.

Anways..1 day now to opening game !!!!
949  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: September 06, 2023, 06:26:15 PM
Regarding the Private Key (non-2FA funds) coins..you are INSANE to think those funds are safe and sound.  Tim has beyond proven he can't be trusted.  If you want to say a hope and a prayer that those coins will be there when it comes time to peel..by all means, just keep in mind you're insane (IMHO) for doing so.

Also, there HAVE been issues with PK keys, as not all of them were actually even funded.

Again..why trust him?  But hey, it's your own money, do with it what you want.
950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 05, 2023, 05:50:28 PM
What does one have to do with the other? These are two ENITRELY different things, and should be viewed as such.  A proper financial portfolio should be one that is diversified.  Real Estate can be good for making passive income, or simply buying a home to live in versus renting can be a way to build equity.  Bitcoin is a digital currency.  It's also inherently NOT an investment.

Just like the "gold vs bitcoin" debate. Two entirely different things. Diversification is the name of the game. Period.
951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give Him a loan Or Partner With Him on: September 05, 2023, 05:47:50 PM
First off I don't condone horse racing (or animal betting of any type) as it's extremely cruel.  Eventually there will be no more horse racing (just as dog racing has all but died in the United States) as people are finally starting to wake up to the cruelties of it.

That being said, I wouldn't loan any friends any money period. Even if he's good at betting horses, that doesn't guarantee he's going to win you or his money back, plus he's more likely to be reckless being that it's a loan.

952  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] Satori Chips & Lealana Monero .1XMR Rainbow Coins on: September 05, 2023, 05:44:34 PM
Okay, so I reached out to MinerJones to get his take on how this auction ended.  As the bidders know, he's got more experience than all of us combined in this area.  I spoke with Box Guy briefly about this who agreed to agree with whatever MJ decided based on the rules/experience.  I assume 2stout/steeley would feel the same way?  Let me know if you guys see any issue with this.  BIG thanks to MinerJones for helping to clarify..

"The last bids within normal time limit for Lot 3 and 4 were at 9:50:44 by BoxGuy, so that would automatically extend the end time to 10:10:00

The next bids for Lot 3 and 4 came in at 10:08:47 by Steeley, which were within the 10 minutes extension...

So now if anyone else does not bid on them with the new extension to 10:18:47, then Steeley wins both lots, which he did.

The last bids within normal time limit for Lot 1 and 2 were at 9:58:18 by BoxGuy, so that would automatically extend the end time to 10:10:00

Then a few more bids for both lots together up to 10:09:52 by BoxGuy who outbid himself.. but hey, not sure why..no one else bid on them...
Next bid for both lots comes in at 10:18:24, which is within the 10 minute limite...
Then again at 10:26:37, which is again within the 10 minute time limit.

And 2stout's bid would be valid because they are just going off of what/when the previous bidder bid (Box Guy)..

Winning Bidders..

Box Guy Lot 1- .0051

Box Guy Lot 2- .0051

Steeley Lot 3 .0045

Steeley Lot 4 .0045
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: September 05, 2023, 05:40:10 PM
Unless you’re a wealthy gambling expert, no one should be placing bets and trying to make a living off of doing so. 99.9% if the time that’s just joy going to be a legitimate way for someone to make their living.

Only gamble what you can afford to lose. When I say gamble I mean casino games/sports bets. “Gambling” in the stock market is different.

Great draft everyone, lots of fun!

We got each other week one and I can't Decide between Monty and Herbert.

Montgomery of course.

You should have drafted more Detroit players, the team will be brilliant this year I keep hearing. Going up against some obscure Missouri team in week 1, easy.

I personally would go with Herbert. It’s a close call though. As a Bears fan, I personally just don’t think David Montgomery is all that good. Herbert was a significantly better rusher when they both played in the same backfield last year. Detroit drafted a RB early, and I think it’ll be a 50/50 split most likely. Herbert is in a bit of a committee too, but I expect him to get more carries than anyone else.
955  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] Satori Chips & Lealana Monero .1XMR Rainbow Coins on: September 05, 2023, 12:11:42 AM
Winning Bids below.

As far as I've ever seen, sniping 10 mn add on's only add 10mns to the specific lot being bid on, not all lots.  I thought the rule was more closely defined on the link that I have explaining the sniping rules.  I would think the consensus around here is what I stated.  This is how I've always seen it work.  (of course I'd obviously rather take the higher bids).  2stout I think I may have some more of these to sell and will let you know.

Lot 1- .0051
Lot 2- .0051

Lot 3- .0031
Lot4- .0031

Box guy- will PM further instructions. PLEASE BE AWARE OF ANY FAKE ACCOUNTS TRYING TO MESSAGE YOU ABOUT THIS AUCTION.  MAKE SURE YOU VERIFY YOU'RE CONVERSING WITH ME.
956  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] Satori Chips & Lealana Monero .1XMR Rainbow Coins on: September 04, 2023, 10:29:27 PM
I’m tied up at the moment and will be for the next couple hours and can sort out any confusion then. But the sniping rules are clearly stated, each bid made within 10mn of a prior bid extends the auction on that lot for an additional 10mns.

Glad to see it. Thanks for sharing!

If you are willing/if you want to…send me your address and I’ll mail you a free coin to help add to your collection.  I would make sure to send it properly so you don’t have any issues with your government trying to confiscate it.

Again, up to you, no big deal if you’ve got privacy concerns or worried about your government intercepting it or whatever.

Cheers- Chi
