How about asking precicly what you want to know (in the resp. language board if english is a problem) and give as much details as possible?

9443  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: July 27, 2014, 11:13:20 AM
-snip-
Requirements:
1. This should be the only signature you have
2. This sig should display correctly, if you too junior you will not have enough space in your sig. In this case you don't qualify.
3. You can't change you sig until campaign end.

Get sorted out which ranks can apply and which not, change #2 afterwards. As in: only members or higher allowed.

Rules of the auction:
1. Once we have 7 people who qualify I will start a campaign. In rare case more then 7 manage to sign up I will pick only 7!
2. Campaign ends one week after it starts.
3. I will count posts you made in this week and the first 5 people  with the most posts will get paid 0.01 BTC
4. Bottom 2 don't get paid, but I still appreciate your support
5. I know I don't pay much, but please don't cheat and don't spam. I'll try to find people who play unfair.

5 is not a Rule, is it? WHy call it auction? Is it an auction? If so, why a fixed price?
4 is just bs IMHO. If you only want to pay 5, you should only hire 5.
2 means you only want to do this 1 week? So its a one time deal?
3 together with 4 means you are basically promoting spam. Think about it, the week is almost over all of your 7 contestants will know where they stand and will try to reach at least spot #5. There will be spam, there will be drama. Again if you only can/want to pay 5 people, hire 5 people, not more.

-snip-
Opinions?
Mine is since it is BTC denominated it does not matter where it comes from, its convertible at a decent exchange rate apparently and can compete with the sig campaigns here. Worthy of a mention even independent of the forum campaign.

Well you are paying in bitcoin if I understood you correctly, so you are correct here. You are paying directly, correct?

Just to make this clear. Top one not correct (thats what happens if you use the full member sig as member), bottom one correct (for Full Members).

Security level: tin foil hat.

Only conceivable problem I see is when you actually want to spend your hyper-secured coins. You don't have Qt + Armory/Electrum to sign transactions offline (in this scenario) so you have to import the private key onto an online computer at some point which may be dangerous unless you spend the outputs instantly (although this is quite unlikely).

Given this, I'd probably still say that you'd be better off just downloading Qt and Armory and making sure they've been GPG signed and match both sha1 and md5 checksums. Then copy them to a formatted USB and onto an offline computer.

Yes, with increase security comes decreased comfort. One could spend the outputs instantly and use a newly generated (same machine, its there allready, so why not use it again) address for the change or rest.

I was merely suggesting this as a solution since OP asked for the "safest" wallet. Tongue

There are full member users with signature that looks exactly like his, but with blue instead of black line. See allcoiminer for example.

I personally think its not that bad, but still the wrong one

What you mean?

He said: Full Members use the Full Members signature. The user I quoted used the full member signature without beeing full member yet. Since Members (with out the full infront) may not use color in their signature, the "bar" appears black instead of blue.
9449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Impossible to hack bitcoin wallet help! on: July 26, 2014, 10:29:43 AM
1) Get a computer that has never been onlne
2) Install bitcoin qt from usb
3) Send bitcoin
4) Make back-up
5) HODL
6) Profit

#2 and #4 could be compromised/attacked. IMHO the safest possible bitcoin "wallet" would be

#1 offline computer with open source OS
#2 deck of cards [1] or other form of sufficient entropy
#3 generate ECDSA key with the libary/tools the OS brings (use #2 for entropy)
#4 generate your address [2]
#5 encrypt everything
#6 never use the machine for anything else, unless you want to spend the coins

Security level: tin foil hat.

Will some cheap windows xp work out?

While it makes little difference for an offline machine, if you are concerned about security you should not use an OS that is no longer supported by the developers.

Enrolled @ #159  Cool

You are using the wrong signature, you are not yet a "Full Member", but only a "Member" thus you need the one line sig.

9451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Encrypt Wallet on: July 26, 2014, 09:34:21 AM
I assume you are talking about the wallet.dat bitcoin core uses, other clients might work differently.

The wallet.dat contains (among other data) your private keys, thus it is essential for the security of yours coin that they are protected. The algorithm used is AES256 IIRC.

This will indeed make the file unreadable while encrypted.

Was soll der dann beweisen?

Know your customer/Anti money laundering.

9454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Easiest (secure) way to send bitcoins from an old wallet? on: July 25, 2014, 05:51:54 PM
the easiest and quickest way might be to send the wallet to a trust escrow person and have them load the wallet and send the address you specific. it might cost you a small fee depending on who you use.

What? Just send the coins yourself, why would you use an escrow service for this? How is that even easy and quick?
9455  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is Mt. Gox's YubiKeys' “configuration protection access code”? on: July 25, 2014, 05:48:32 PM
IIRC there was a thread regarding this on the YubiKey board. One of their admins/mods/... said that they are worthless and should not be used anymore since there was no way to wipe them.

found it:

Admin at their board says: "if its locked, buy a new one"

very nice to see that this puzzle got solved i never did attempt to solve it nor to check what it was all about. Did someone just have to find address or what was the point of the game?

the address was easy, the hard part was to get the private key. If you want you can read my summary, it might give you an idea how the two week hunt was.

Even though this thread is self moderated i will not delete your comment simply because it actually shows who the troll is.

Thanks for finally admitting that you are indeed S4VV4S.

9459  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 51% problem still existant after all coins have been mined ? on: July 25, 2014, 11:47:23 AM
Ah. Okay... ?? Smiley

What in case all coins have been premined, as it can be seen with some AltCoins ?

No new blocks mined = no transactions confirmed. Without mining the network dies.

Of cause!

Minging will never end and the last Bitcoin will never be mined!

Ofc there will be a time when the last bitcoin has been mined, from that day on only transactions fees will be the reward for mining.
9460  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Unterschied von PoS&PoW Coins on: July 25, 2014, 11:43:19 AM
Hallo,
