9461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK 20% of the gambling venues are located at the poorest part of the country on: August 25, 2021, 04:08:45 AM
Always it is the left-wing mouthpieces such as The Guardian which dishes out such propaganda articles. If the majority of the gambling joints are located in the poorest parts of the country, that also means that they are providing jobs to the poorest. This is what the left-wing does. They destroy the jobs of the poor people and then provoke them to riot against the government. Socialists doesn't want the poor to earn a living. Instead they want them to live off handouts from the government, so that they will be in a state of perpetual dependence.

Once these gambling joints are closed down, then the gamblers will just move to underground casinos. But for those who worked in these joints, there will be no alternative.

Very difficult but there's nothing we can do, we have to stay positive to survive from this situation. Cheering up our own self is hard
but as long as we are still alive we must continue to find ways.

Having an inspiration to continue choosing life, and without any interference of this virus which really affecting a lots of life right now.
So many cases either people died or be confined in a hospital suffering. hard but needs to move along.

Obviously the first priority is keeping yourselves safe. Poverty is not an excuse to refuse safety protocols such as wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing. The second priority is earning a livelihood. In my country, far many people have died from poverty and job loss that resulted from this pandemic, when compared to the actual death toll from the infection. It is hard for those who were previously employed in the unorganized sector to find jobs. But new avenues have opened. Online eCommerce businesses such as Amazon and Swiggy have increased their hiring.
9463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: August 25, 2021, 03:41:42 AM
In my opinion this is a pretty stupid "mindset".  Bitcoin was created by Satoshi to be used as a CURRENCY.  Sure people stack currencies in order to appreciate/stack wealth, but people also use currency as a means of payment.  In my personal opinion it is important to use bitcoin as a currency to help it's adoption in to mainstream, world wide success. Anywho..I don't know about you, but for me, life isn't free and bills have to be paid..so selling some at times isn't that big of a deal.

Wrong.

Have you read the original whitepaper? No where in the document, Satoshi says that Bitcoin should be exclusively used as a currency or as a mode of payment. Satoshi designed Bitcoin to fight the current economic system, which is dominated by the central banks. If you want to change the system, then you need to consider all the sectors. Focusing only on the payment method is not going to resolve the issue. I could understand your concern, if the usage of Bitcoin for payments is getting affected. But that is not the case and therefore I don't think that there is any significance in what you have said.
9464  Economy / Economics / Re: Enjoy comunism (III) rats eating dead people and people eating rats in NK on: August 25, 2021, 03:30:54 AM
Since you gave an example of fox news, I am going to assume that you are an American? Or at least know the media in the American system hence know a bit about American politics (these days who doesn't lol)? So in that case, communism in a tyrannical system is where the leaders like how NK is managed right now lives the 1% amazing life, he has that right as the leader, and 99% crush beneath him, and even eating rats to survive, or Venezuela losing weight all together as well just because their leader cost them a lot of money and now they can't even afford food and there isn't even food in the markets.

However, do you really believe that management is still better in a capitalist liberal system? I believe that paying a thousand dollars ON TOP OF your insurance just because you had a little cough is not a good system neither.

I still believe that there is a real "dream" equality in the world, it could be right, it could be left, it could be any ideology I do not care, call it "the middle"? That sounds good, but its where people could be billionaires like Jeff Bezos, but nobody starves to death or pays thousands for insulin, there is definitely a middle-ground humanity could find.

Medicare system in the United States is rotten and that is not due to the capitalist system. If that was the case, then how come Medicare costs in neighboring Canada are 10 times lower than the rates for the same in the United States? They are also having the same system there. Capitalism can be managed in a way where exploitation doesn't occur. Take the case of European countries such as Germany and Switzerland. They are perfect examples of capitalism. United States is an example where the system is dominated by a few corporations. And corporate-capitalism is different from normal capitalism.

The news from Zimbabwe is that Craig Ervine has been appointed as the captain. And he is the 5th captain of the Zimbabwe cricket team since 2020. Zimbabwe has named a strong squad for the tours of Scotland and Ireland, with star players such as Craig Ervine, Sean Williams and Brendan Taylor included in the squad. The matches are going to be very crucial, as Zimbabwe is currently placed at the last position of the World Cup Super league points table, with just one win from 6 matches. Ireland has 3 wins from 12 matches played so far.
9466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 25, 2021, 03:10:27 AM
Did anyone watched the opening ceremony of the 2021 Summer Paralympics? I found it very interesting and was mostly performed by handicapped individuals. The theme of the ceremony was "We have wings".

Today there are a total of 24 gold medal events, with 16 in swimming, four in Wheelchair fencing and the rest in Track Cycling. The events will last for 12 days, slightly shorter than the main Olympics.
9467  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin fans have developed into a political force. Is this the dawn of victory? on: August 25, 2021, 03:00:07 AM
Good luck forming a political force when there's some 50 million people worldwide. It will be a bigger failure than all those internet parties or piracy parties. Best you can hope is some Bitcoin lobbyism coming from big companies that now have a skin in the game. Even then it's a big question if they would be able to successfully resist all hostile regulations and how far they would be able to go in defending Bitcoin, or to be more precise their interests in Bitcoin, which are not always the same as community interests.

Forming a separate party never works, as seen from the case of the Pirate Party. There are billions of users in the world who uses torrents and other filesharing apps, but that doesn't mean that all of them would vote for a party which is solely based on filesharing rights. The same goes for cryptocurrency. There may be 40-50 million active users, but there is no guarantee that all of them will support a political party. As you said, the best thing to do is to form a lobbying group and stay away from direct involvement in politics.
9468  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: August 25, 2021, 02:50:38 AM
Have any of you heard the recent fuss about Pfizer vaccines, An insider whistleblower doctor said there's a good chance patients might in 2-3 years due to blood clotting if they've taken 2 dosages of it.

I'm not sure what to say about it but I was against the Vaccines the very start and didn't believe in it.
I don't go out that often and haven't faced any symptoms of Covid since its rise are there any other like this?

The allegation was not made by any insider but by a mentally deranged activist called Luc Montagnier. And he didn't explicitly stated that everyone who take vaccines will die within 2-3 years. His statements were distorted by the anti-vaxxer groups.

https://www.indiatoday.in/fact-check/story/fact-check-nobel-laureate-luc-montagnier-didn-t-say-covid-vaccine-recipients-will-die-in-two-years-1807023-2021-05-26

Montagnier has campaigned against vaccination (for all diseases) for many years and that is the reason why he is opposing the latest vaccination campaign. As such he hasn't said anything peculiar to the COVID vaccine. So if you are supporting him, then you are against all the existing vaccines, such as those against Measles and Diphtheria.
9469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 25, 2021, 02:40:08 AM
As I have said previously, Pacquiao is done in the sports of boxing, there's no need to redeem his name in a rematch. He is already noted as one of the best in the century by many sports analyst. He already accepted defeat and has move on with his other goals, like running for the highest office in the Philippines. A rematch if ever he wins, will not do anything for his career, a loss will be damaging.

He deserves at least one more match against a good opponent, and that doesn't essentially needs to be a rematch against Yordenis Ugas. It will be tragic, if the farewell match for Pacquaio turns out to be an upset defeat against a little known opponent. Pacquaio is a legend in the field of boxing and the other boxers like Crawford, Taylor, Spence and Garcia needs to show respect towards him. The least they can do is to give him an opportunity to retire after a farewell fight against the best in welterweight category.
9470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 25, 2021, 02:30:27 AM
The Test series is over and they should have played one more match.

They did the right thing by limiting the number of matches to two. I would say that even one was enough, given the declining popularity of test cricket. Overall, it was an amazing fightback from Pakistan. Shaheen Shah Afridi was exceptional, and he has all the qualities to become another legend, like Wasim Akram or Shoaib Akhtar. Shaheen is already having 76 test wickets to his name, and he is only 21 years old. But a lot will depend on how PCB grooms players like him. There is no dearth of talent in Pakistan.
9471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Guys Think About So-Called "Shit-coin" ? on: August 24, 2021, 04:45:11 AM
Well, Shit-coin is a shitcoin. They usually have little value or no value at all. Many-many creators made a lot of coin supply to be airdropped and each coin probably 0.0001. That's a shitcoin right there. It will only became a trash in your wallet, so there's no point holding them in your wallet  Cheesy

We have two shitcoins in the top-10 list from Coinmarketcap (Dogecoin and Ripple), with a combined market cap of $100 billion. You may still be able to defend XRP, but what about Dogecoin? Anyone who is aware of its history will not deny the fact that Doge is a shitcoin. It was first created in 2013 by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, to mock the very idea about cryptocurrency. The most ironic fact about Doge is that the promoters never took their invention seriously enough. Else they would have been billionaires by now.
9472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not everyone can be lucky when it comes to shitcoins on: August 24, 2021, 04:16:16 AM
All we keep hearing about is a guy who invested 100$ in meme coin and go home with 100,000$ but no one is talking about those guys who invested 10,000$ in meme coins and go home with zero $ , the truth is many losses more money than those who win investing in meme coin, it's like buying your fantasies when you know that your chances are very slim, meme coins are shitcoins but many don't want to accept just because someone make 100,000$ off the shitcoin haha

Only the promoters know when a pump will occur with the shitcoins, because they are the ones who manipulate trading for such coins. If you manage to invest in these coins before that, then obviously you will profit out of it. But what are the chances? How you will know that a shitcoin will go up and at which point you need to sell them? My advice would be to avoid such coins and concentrate on the established and promising projects. Because with shitcoins in 99.99% of the cases you will lose money and the promoters will benefit from it.
9473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 24, 2021, 04:05:35 AM
Yes, father times are going to come whether we like it or not specially for athletes.

So it's better for Pacman to quit, no need for him to fight another, nothing to prove, he has cemented his legacy. One of the greatest of all time, regardless of what his critics are going to say in the future. And sure hall of famer as well. If ever he goes to politics and run for the Presidency that is his choice, but he has given us a lot of good fights and wish him the best.

Buboy Fernandez might retire with him as well.  Grin

He need to quit, but only after one good farewell fight. I don't want to remember his last fight as a defeat against Yordenis Ugas. Let him fight against Errol Spence or Mikey Garcia. Even if he gets beaten, there is some respect in it. Having watched Pacquaio for well over a decade, it is really hard to get in terms with his recent loss against Ugas. But it needs to be seen whether Pacquaio has the appetite for another fight. He looks extremely exhausted and may retire from professional boxing altogether to concentrate on politics.
9474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 24, 2021, 03:55:37 AM
The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games starts today.
https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/en/paralympics/

Do you usually watch?
Are there athletes from your countries participating?
If so, how is their performance usually?

I have huge respect for the athletes who take part in Paralympics. But unfortunately these games doesn't have the same level of excitement as Olympics. Unlike Olympics, the United States is not the favorite to top medals table in Paralympics. Back in 2016, it was China which topped the medals table, with Great Britain and Ukraine taking the second and third places respectively. Unfortunately in 2016, there was a tragic accident which resulted in the death of one athlete (Bahman Golbarnejhad). Let's hope that no such incident occurs this time.
9475  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin wasn’t created to make you rich. It was created to make you free on: August 24, 2021, 03:44:32 AM
It indirectly makes you rich. Bitcoin is protected from inflation and that means that your wealth and purchasing power does not go down. On the other hand, if you invest in assets denominated in fiat currency, even if you get some profit, it is neutralized by inflation and taxes. With cryptocurrency, you have to deal with taxes, but not with inflation. In fiat economy, it is extremely difficult for someone to become rich through honest methods. But that is possible with cryptocurrency. And that explains the reason why the governments are against it.
9476  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin losing its purpose? on: August 24, 2021, 03:34:52 AM
Yeah it has now transitioned into an speculative asset backed by trust. BTC is evolving into a store of value asset and somehow its utility is not fully utilized. Its now becoming an investment rather a peer to peer digital currency and that's where governments are trying to regulate. I think in the future we could still be operated anonymously without intermediary using BTC but using DeFi sector and not the centralised one.

So what makes you think that the purpose of Bitcoin was not to act as a speculative investment asset? Nothing in Satoshi's original whitepaper says that Bitcoin should be exclusively used as a currency, and it should not be used as an investment asset. Satoshi's main intention was to change the current centralized banking system, and for that it doesn't really matter whether Bitcoin is used for payments or not. And that said, Bitcoin is still being used as a currency and with every passing year more and more stores are accepting it.
9477  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: August 24, 2021, 02:27:58 AM
No, we will not. This virus will become endemic in nature, we will just live with it. We may contain this virus via the continuous vaccination program, but it will not go away anytime soon. Will be years before we can see a relatively normal life again. As it has been seen, even people with complete inoculation can still get infected. So using face mask, social distancing and other health protocols will be observed for years. There are other variants rising so scientists are again in the race to really find the most effective vaccine to counter these variants.

If I am not wrong, some of the manufacturers have already come up with booster doses specifically designed to combat the delta variant. But it needs to be seen whether the people are ready to take these shots. The initial response was very good, as there was a general feeling that the vaccines are upto 95% effective against COVID 19. But the efficacy has reduced as a result of the new strains and now it looks as if the protection guaranteed by the mRNA vaccines last for only around 6 months. Now it will be more difficult to convince the people to get vaccinated.
9478  Economy / Economics / Re: Enjoy comunism (III) rats eating dead people and people eating rats in NK on: August 24, 2021, 02:17:40 AM
Unfortunately, there's no chance for North Korea's people to topple their government, because revolutions happen when people are strong and government is weak, but in North Korea it's the vice versa. And now that the government has nukes, their regime could survive for a very long time, as no outside country would use military force against them. The only hope is change from within, maybe in some distant future there will be a less oppressive leader and the people will have a chance to become stronger.

As long as the regime is able to keep the population terrified, they will be able to enslave them. But at one point, the threshold of tolerance will snap and there will be a mass uprising. And this has happened in other countries as well (Lithuania, Poland.etc). And in all probability, Kim Jong Un will face the fate of other dictators, such as Saddam Hussain, Muammar Gaddafi and Nicolae Ceaușescu. Even in Cuba and Venezuela, now the population is rioting against the communist regimes. You can't rule with muscle-power forever.

IPL is scheduled in UAE right, what is the situation in UAE because if things turns out to be bad then they might need to shift the World Cup from there as well  Grin.

UAE has almost 80% vaccination rate, and therefore they should be OK. UAE was in fact one of the first countries to offer universal vaccination to anyone residing within their borders. However I am not very sure about Oman. Almost every country in the world is affected by the spread of delta variant, and even countries like UAE may witness some impact from it. Even after the vaccination campaign, they are reporting close to 1,000 new cases per day. Just hope that the IPL/T20 World Cup will proceed as per the plans.

LOL.. Shaheen Shah Afridi destroyed the West Indies first innings along with Mohammad Abbas. Now suddenly Pakistan has a chance of winning this match. And they did well to score runs quickly. If full 90 overs of play is possible on the 5th day, then the chances are that Pakistan will win this test match and level the series. But any rain interruption would sink that possibility. Also the fact that Pakistan doesn't have a quality spinner in their playing XI for this test may work out against them.
