1 Merit for Jr. Member is still not enough. We need at least 5.

An account created 20 mins ago is already writing about the merit, why don't you post with your main account.
Whatever, yes we need more merit required to rank up, or a decay every few weeks. Probably the 1st is better.
9482  Other / Meta / Re: Bounty Manager as a good Merit source! on: September 22, 2018, 08:19:54 PM
I saw in the past some bounty manager abusing the bounty where they was managering paying their alts.
Now, you want really the risk to get a bounty manager as merit source and get the risk to have a bounty manager with 10 or more leveled up accounts?
9483  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] Members who support newbies - Thanks! on: September 22, 2018, 08:05:46 PM
Thankyou for the list, I can see many abusers here, it will a long work to report them all, also if you can update those data next week with next datas! It will be very fast way to find them out!

I've already found 2 abusers with this list, I will post the accusation later.
9484  Other / Meta / Re: Every merit transaction and message from new merit rules (17 Sep 2018) on: September 22, 2018, 02:47:14 PM
I tend to award merits on impulse, and I often think I should check to see what I've done. I must dig out the link and bookmark it.

Keep in mind, some links to messages can be broken since message can be deleted but the link from sender to receiver it will always work till the profile exist.

It's quite simple to find abusers with this file, like this one

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1114852,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1502785
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2156342
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1271951

All 3 newbie jr accounts, with 1 point from him and same signature.

Need a deeper investigation, but it smells like an abuser.
9485  Other / Meta / Every merit transaction and message from new merit rules (17 Sep 2018) on: September 22, 2018, 02:17:35 PM
Hello After the new rule for newbie accounts we need some new stats, from the RAW file from theymos I' ve done this spreadsheet where we can see all transaction and find some users who sent 1 merit to owns alts to rank them up (or sell the merit).
It's more likely that one account with 20-30 txID with 1 merit is an abuser in some way.

The spreadsheet can be found here, I've ordered the transaction "FROM ID user" to users to see how many times the users will appear, I think this is the best solution, but if you want a copy to change something, you need to click on file and "save as copy" from there you can do whatever you want.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R3dE2huMLqjvC1JpFUimRvXvktBxjD-Sgqw61S5oYhk/edit?usp=sharing

For example this week we have over 3000 transaction with 1 merit, the hunting to find who has more it's begun.

9486  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Merit abuse] Three Newbies received 100 merit each in one day on: September 22, 2018, 01:35:30 PM
You should probably contact a DT which understands that language. Although I'm pretty sure giving 50 merits for a one-liner is a clear abuse, you need an evidence to back it up since giving merits/judging quality posts is completely subjective.

Before someone says it, I know it's not an optimal method, but let's say that we can understand the content of a post with the google translator, especially for sentences that contain a line.
The link is the following and I set it to automatically translate the sentences from Turkish into English and as we can see the content of this message is somewhat poor to have merit.
I can think from this fast tranlation they are merit seller, merit fam or "merit gift in hopes of tagging an account" even if I see it hard on newbie accounts.

https://translate.google.it/translate?hl=it&sl=tr&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fbitcointalk.org%2Findex.php%3Ftopic%3D1675162.msg16883383

From here you can copy paste the link of the merited message and/or change the language.
9487  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hero helped 49 newbies to rank up on: September 21, 2018, 11:55:36 AM
This sure is suspicious. Some of those posts he/she merited belongs to a spam/old threads, Like this which was on a page 65th on a 130 page thread. Posted on June 6th.
He/she even merited a facebook link?
One liner posts he/she merited:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2852122.msg43601019#msg43601019
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4329788.msg40612922#msg40612922
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3250995.msg43366329#msg43366329
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2852122.msg43601019#msg43601019
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2197936.msg29232422#msg29232422
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2813013.msg30972158#msg30972158

It's either he/she has lots of free time to search for these posts of newbies and giving them merits to rank up or these must have been his/her alts.  Roll Eyes

Most of those accounts are russian, I read here on forum one guys sold his merit for 10$ each, now with the high request of merit, the value can be even 15$/merit, so nick777 could evend sold all this merit for almost 1k $.
It's hard to say if he passed the merit to alts or sold it.
9488  Other / Meta / Re: The new rule (1 Merit for Jr. Member) is already reducing spam on: September 21, 2018, 12:03:01 AM
Let's see what happens in a week or so, I do not think spam has dropped so much or am I wrong? I thought it would come to -50% but we are around 5-10% what do you think? how much do you think can go down?
The thing that seems more visible to me is the decline in deleted messages rather than the decline in written messages, but this is perhaps due to the fact that people are reporting fewer messages and therefore this value can be considered "untrustworthy".
9489  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: [INFO] +MERIT.

9490  Other / Meta / Re: Applying to be a merit source on: September 20, 2018, 02:01:08 PM
Support to this man one of the most active and helpful users on bitcointalk, give to this account the merit source powa!

9492  Other / Meta / Re: bounty BOTs on Bitcointalk on: September 20, 2018, 01:55:29 PM
Using bots is allowed, but the same rules apply as for humans: spam is not allowed.
That being said, I would say almost all "bounty reports" are spam, but somehow they're not moderated.

I agree come kind of bots can be allowed (utility bots), but the real question people who uses bot to cheat on bounty and for this reason the post thousands of reports on the forum created by social media bot are also allowed?
Keep in mind those accounts also uses signatures and get money for their shitpost.
9493  Other / Meta / Re: Hunt for the no merit highest post count record. 0 Merit 3139 posts on: September 20, 2018, 01:53:09 PM

The top Full member is > ChiNgadOr = 8795 posts
~

This one got 19 merits.
Has received 19 merit 15 times, from 11 profiles
Also in this list we must considerate only active users since some users are no active right now.
9494  Other / Meta / Re: Hunt for the no merit highest post count record. 0 Merit 3139 posts on: September 20, 2018, 11:32:16 AM
Those are noobs  Cool I have one bigger, huge one, but I'm waiting a mod responce here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030187.msg45796715#msg45796715 before posting the account.
9495  Other / Meta / Re: bounty BOTs on Bitcointalk on: September 20, 2018, 09:36:26 AM
Any official statement here? It would be very satisfying to ban and remove high rank abusers using this method.
Better ask mods about this, you could pm mods from bounty section or just post you inquiry on Welsh's  [Guide] Reporting effectively thread, he always answer when someone posts their inquiries about reporting.

I'm asking to mods, hoping to get one answer soon or later! Cheesy

I have the feeling that some users are going to start trading sMerit points..
just saying. I still believe in the goodness and honesty of the people. But it is a possibility.

It's happening since the start of this system, if you find solid cases you can post them here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2896910.0. as you can see a lot of people were reported and now it seems more and more people starting to DT red trust them.
9497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum Actually Heading for a Collapse? on: September 19, 2018, 11:46:09 PM
Probably can be. Since ethereum is right now only used to pays fees for ico tokens, it can collapse soon. They need to do something to change this way for using ETH or I don't think it will last for a long time.
9498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Alt coins/ ICO legit if they just listed an lower rank exchange ? on: September 19, 2018, 11:43:57 PM
If you talk about an altcoin already on the list of coinmaketcap, it is better that it is also included in the lists of large excahnge to attract the greatest number of people possible.
The ico just completed, hardly can be listed on huge exchenge immediately, from what I understand costs a lot of money to have the place on some exchange.
For this reason I tend to believe in the altcoin that are listed on big exchanges and ICOs that have the intention to enter big exchanges, if an altcoin does not want to enter big markets I can hardly believe I can get a decent value over the time.
9499  Other / Meta / Re: "Multiple Accounts" / Copy-pasta detection scripts/bots on: September 19, 2018, 03:55:28 PM
It will be great if you succeed to write a script that detects members sendig Merits to each others.

I don't think it is going to be hard to code such script but you will need an access to the Merit database.

We already have several tools for this purpose, you can see one here done by @DdmrDdmr
