I firmly believe that the closer we are heading towards the block halving the higher the prices will be. My target for the comming 2 months is $500.

I only buy Bitcoin when it is getting dumped to the ground, that's when I do buy low and sell high. Other than that, I buy Bitcoin when there are large enough price swings to profit from, but that's purely for day trading purposes.
I almost do the same thing but sometimes buy them when they are a bit higher. I think most of the times its good to invest when somethings is low. Do you think the bitcoin price is low at the moment? Many altcoins have risen against bitcoin recently. The Bitcoin price is just normal, not low and not high. If you buy right now you are definitely not buying at the top. Especially if you hold your coins at least untill we have seen the block halving being completed. I think a gain of at least 50% from current price is definitely possible.

Well if you never sell it then what's the point? Just hoarding it? You can't take it with you after you die. Money is to be spent.
I get your point, the title is a bit misleading. OP means that we should use Bitcoin solely as currency to buy stuff with our coins instead of converting them to our fiat currencies. I totally agree with the fact that we should spend our coins more, but I am also a person that finds that people are free to use Bitcoin the way they want. If they want to convert their coins to fiat, then no problem. I don't mind it. Bitcoin is a free market.

oh nice, i hope that the price will go up because of that, but i dont think it is possible because people will be afraid of a drop
The people that have the funds to influence the price don't care at all about this. Why would they? It's just an altcoin.

You are asking us something that really no one knows. But if I have to make a guess about the comming 10 years then my rough guess will be around $60 billion, which is around 10x higher than the current market cap.

Bitcoin seems dead... If we dont go to $2000 on the halving, then good bye bitcoin.
What? I wonder if we see the price go to $1000 once the block halving is being completed fully. But that doesn't mean Bitcoin will go away. As Amph also mentioned, miners will keep mining without much problems. Even if we keep sitting at $600-$800 for a very long time after the halving, then it's more than perfect for Chinese mining farms.

Does anyone have any idea how many people are using gold as a store of value vs btc? And how long do you think until we have the same user Base as holders of gold?
i think more people use gold for store of value, because all of people can do this, gold is more popular in this world. i think need more than 10 years for bitcoin to reach same users like gold holders. All people can also use Bitcoin as store of value/wealth without a problem. It's even easier than going to a certain place and purchase yourself some kilos of physical Gold. It's also a risk having that much Gold in your house and it's not easy to hide unless you dig it somewhere deep in the forrest. And if you want to move that much physical Gold to somewhere else you get noticed quickly. No real benefits. With Bitcoin you only need a piece of paper to store millions of $$$ and no one will notice anything. You can have it in your pocket, you can go to any country without any one noticing you have possibly hundreds of millions of $$$ with you. That's amazing!!

I think bitcoin will be very big in a few years, I mean a currency. I think it just a matter of time till the bitcoin will take over the world.
No. Bitcoin as currency is and will always be just an alternative to our fiat financial system. We have to deal with it. The Blockchain technology on the other hand will definitely take over as more and more governments and financials are heavily researching the possibilities of the Blockchain.

The majority of the new incomming money is being invested in Bitcoin related startups and not in the currency that Bitcoin is. If all this money is being put together and with the effort of some well respected investors we can have it listed somewhere on an exchange as the NASDAQ for example. That would make it possible to come even close to such a price. Otherwise it's simply impossible.

The short term price rise was already over back in November of 2015. I'm am sure it will start to increase as soon as we are just a few months away from the halving.

Well, it's quite difficult convincing some one that most likely doesn't know anything about Bitcoin and its volatility. I would just explain him what the real benefits are and search for information on where in Hungary it's the best place for him to convert his coins into fiat. Also tell him that if he plays it right, he can probably avoid paying a significant amount of tax over that money.

i think the price will remain in the range of $360-$399 for another month before we can see a decent price increase. my guess $395 as the peak for this week.
I think we can reach $400 at this week it's a fair rate for me to sell my bitcoin... more people try to compare ETH and bitcoin, the ETH price at this time keep moving up but im never trust other altcoin will be survive only BITCOIN i certainly hope we will touch the $400 price level this week, but i think there is too much selling pressure that will push back the price when it comes really close to $400. regarding eth, i am not impressed at all. i have seen several altcoins have had insanely high volumes because it was hyped up a lot. the price went to the moon and every body kept buying at the peak because their greed took over. you know what happens then.... this week i found more "good news" like sony interesting about blockchain, steam will accept bitcoin , im sure if steam officially accept bitcoin bitcoin price can survive,, more people will buying bitcoin for deposit at steam / buying game at steam... at huobi the highest price $390 above Good news is not driving the price anymore unless there is something that makes Wall Street list Bitcoin in the biggest exchanges for example. News that we consider to be good news is not being seen as good news by investors. They are very picky.

I think price is quite stable right now, and seems to me that sub 400$ range is a good price for buying. But that is in the current environment, which might change.
if it is the same scenario like last year when the price was stable between $200 and $300 then now is the time to buy before bitcoin starts to go up again and you regret not using the opportunity to get cheep coins. I do believe we're in the exact same situation as we were when the price was bouncing between $200 - $300 for quite a long time. I say, buy and hold before it's too late.

|
It seems that price is stable below $400 but atleast it is not moving rapidly to the bottom. Price would probably rise to $400 maybe after a month?
The last few weeks the price indeed remained fairly stable, but I have the feeling that something can happen at any moment. I think we are due for a price increase. I only don't know if it is the same old increase to around $390 which will then come down to around $370 again. I hope we can finally leave the sub $400 prices behind us this month.

bitcoin is going to $2k in january and $4k 1 minute after block halving. be prepared... be very prepared
This may be correct. January 2020 maybe? And which halving? Funny bad predictions... I don't understand the reason of them.. I think the previous prediction is too optimistic. The price might go to $1000 just before halving. $4k is next year's price. $4K for next year is also way too optimistic. I think it will be a more than difficult task to reach the $1000 price level again this year. There are plenty of people ready to sell the coins that they bought at sub $400 levels.

Yes, as the bitcoin price again suffered some loss it is definitely another chance to get more bitcoins or satoshis.
I think at this point people have had enough time to buy their coins already. Right now is just an OK time to buy if you are a short term investor. Bitcoin price can go into any direction at the moment. 1 dump can trigger a lot panic sellers.

|
i dont think its going to go to 500 again.. that seemed like a one time thing. i personally didnt sell my coins, but i might if the price goes high snough.
I think it will go to the 500 again. Its just a matter of time till the bitcoin will rise again. I think it will even rise over the 500 dollar. Of course it will rise to $500 again and higher. The current price is just a short term happening. The closer we are heading towards the block halving, the more it will rise. I think the real action will start 1 or 2 months before the halving date.

It was at the end of 2012 where I heard for the first time about Bitcoin, and at the very beginning of 2013 I started to get a bit active. At that time I was still only interested in the financial side of Bitcoin for my personal gains. I think it was in February of 2014 where I started to get interested in the technology behind Bitcoin. And since that time I am a big supporter of Bitcoin.

I think it's just a matter of time before Steam is accepting Bitcoin as payment method. Gamers are quite techie, and giving them the option to pay in Bitcoin makes perfectly sense.
