9501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Don't Like The Idea of BCH Being A Challenge to BTC on: November 11, 2018, 03:15:34 AM
In recent weeks, there has been lots of activities on the BCH network, yes some will be splitting the network and the fragmentation will keep BTC dominating. However, I think the Bitcoin network needs upgrades like this. Something direct and not necessarily wait for LN for scaling https://cryptoinfowatch.com/bitcoin-cash-miners-mine-multiple-32-mb-blocks/

As much as we don't want a split, obviously, it happened already so there's no need to complain right now. But as far as being challenge? I don't see any altcoins posing a threat to bitcoin, not even Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum or XRP. Well they have tried but didn't suggest. So for sure Bitcoin will still have the consensus support of this community whatever challenges it would face from "altcoins". And I'm sure that you're aware of the people behind Bitcoin Cash, most of them are not to blindly trusted anyways, so that's enough proof that those coins will still be small as compare to the "real Bitcoin".
9502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Xmas Bull Run!! on: November 10, 2018, 11:51:32 PM
Dr Phil says the past predicts the future! I think we can all learn something from this

Nope. Not in this market. Past performance is not a good indicator here because you have to remember that this market is based on pure speculation. So its very very difficult to predict just based on its historical logs. Although we can learn some lessons here, but totally relying on its past specially last year's showing, there's no guarantee that we can have a bull run before the end of the year. So If I were you, don't expect too much so that you won't get disappointed at the end.
9503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have problem in BITMEX exchange on: November 10, 2018, 09:54:01 PM
So it looks like they're enforcing KYC, not surprised at all since a lot of trading exchanges lately has succumb to government pressures requiring them a full KYC on all of their clients. If you're not comfortable giving them your personal data, then don't do it, simply as that.
9504  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We've made a new Bitcoin mixer [Zatoshi Company] on: November 10, 2018, 09:37:32 AM
I suggest you create a Announcement thread on the appropriate board here.. Weird though, I try to access your site in clearnet but it seems it takes forever to load on my end. Do you have reserve BTC though, just in case something doesn't end well with you and your clients? Yes, as @MadGamer, signed a message to show you have the reserves BTC. How can ensure anonymity for the prying eyes of governments?
9505  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have problem in BITMEX exchange on: November 10, 2018, 09:09:22 AM
I tried to search if they have a official account here and I found this thread [ANN] BitMEX - Bitcoin Mercantile Exchange Official Thread. Unfortunately, that thread is dead and the account BitMEXdotcom hasn't log on for the last 2 years. I guess the only way is to reach them through their twitter account: https://twitter.com/bitmexdotcom?lang=en.
9506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 10, 2018, 05:20:17 AM
In a news related to Rafael Nadal's injury, it was reported that a exhibition match in Saudi with Novak Djovovic is cancelled because of his abdominal injury. Well his knee operations will take weeks to heal at least so there's no way for him to really attend this exhibition match anyways.

Saudi exhibition off due to Nadal injury, says Djokovic
9507  Economy / Speculation / Re: quick wins or trying to change things on: November 10, 2018, 04:03:39 AM
should it be one or the other? can't it be somewhere in between?!

i am somewhere in between. i am very interested in the technology and i want to see bitcoin reach mass adoption and be the currency that you can use anywhere in the world without needing to convert to fiat.
but also i am interested in making profit. i don't have the delusions of getting rich overnight and i am not willing to take huge risks for it either but this is a market which i can trade in and make profit or invest long term and make profit.

Exactly, I wanted for bitcoin to be used as a currency, (which I'm been doing for more than 1 year now). But at the same time, I have some I kept not to be used but rather as a investment, so obviously, I'm also here to make money, to be honest. So I'm somewhat in between as well, or somewhere between the currency aspect and the Store of Value in can bring to people, specially those who have tons of money to invest.
9508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Instagramers approaching me non-stop on: November 10, 2018, 03:21:41 AM
Dear Forum members,

First, I would like to say hi all of you as this is my first time here and obviously my first post ever in this forum.
Pleasure to be with you all, and I am anxious to get to know you and learn from you all.

My question may not be so simple, here it goes:
Lately, so many instagram accounts sending me messages about making money thru crypto currency, and they go on with many mysterious approaches, asking too many questions and trying to propose making a lot of money by investing very limited.
I am talking about investing 100 USD a week and making weekly 5000 USD in the following weeks.

Just remember this old adage: If it's too good to be true it probably is.

Of course these type of approaches reminds me conmen. I would need accept such ridiculous
offers. If that would be true, everyone would do the same.

Long story short, my question is; who are these people? What type of offers I should be careful of? What kind of offers are legit and can be considered seriously?

They're scammers. You should be careful of all offers. You don't know this guys personally, so don't be blindly accept their offers, simply as that.

Thanks in advance for your honest answers. And my question may sound a bit stupid, but bear with me please, I will grow ;-)

Best regards,

Well, this is why we have this community. To help its other out. Although you will read lots of senior members bashing a lot of newbies, its because majority of them are here to join bounties, But if you have legitimate concerns and questions, I'm sure you will hear a lot of positive advises to you. Goodluck.
9509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Believe that there is a crypto cartel suppressing the price of BTC? on: November 10, 2018, 01:59:34 AM
I mean what will be the purpose of those cartel? To monopolized the market? C'mon this is 2018 already there are millions of traders around globally, so its going to be hard to control this market. Going back to my question, they wanted to manipulate the price so that they can buy and hoard a lot of coins? That's how supposedly a cartel works, but so far we haven't seen anything out of the extraordinary to say that they can literally control the price the way they wanted.
9510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Historical Street Gambling Game on: November 09, 2018, 11:52:49 PM
Isn't it called "Kara Krus" or "cara y cruz"?

Haven't played that game, but I used to watch it being played when I was a boy in our place as well. Again it looks like another Spanish influence on Filipinos. As far as I can remember, it can be played anywhere, but there's always some heated debate as accusations of cheating (specially for losing bettors), but I don't know how can someone cheat unless he totally rigs the coins.
Don't know really what it called as a whole in Philippines but my local called it that way.

I guess there's no way people can cheat in that way of gambling since everyone is watching around. And everyone has a chance to check the coin from its texture, how it looks and etc. And the tosser only needs to, of course, toss the coin until there's a result of 3 tails or 3 heads.

Though it takes time but people used to play it as long there's a smooth hard surface where the coin can land after a toss without any obstacle. So it can be played in street road as well.

Yeah, probably what I witnessed is that the tosser really master his craft, that's why he also wins and bettors thinks he is cheating or something. This is really a old school street gambling games in the Philippines. Maybe time has changed what coins are being used today, but still the rules of the game is still in the same.
9511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Historical Street Gambling Game on: November 09, 2018, 09:06:18 PM
I don't know if this gambling type of coin is way back years ago but people here still use it the one they called hantak, having 3 coins, and people do a bet if they get 3 tails or 3 heads. And the one who tosses the 3 coins has always the heads, so if he tossed and get 3 heads then he wins, 3 tails he loss.

Isn't it called "Kara Krus" or "cara y cruz"?

9512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather set for New Year's Eve fight in Japan on: November 09, 2018, 08:24:55 PM
Too scared to mess up his record Cheesy He knows he's getting older and slower. Conor lost to him but the fight wasn't easy. A boxing champion vs someone who didn't box professionally and there were moments when this match looked very even. I think that he'll never risk the record again. He's got enough money and knows that you can't buy reputation.

I guess that's Floyd being Floyd, really scared when everything is on the line. Lmao. I was reading the news and I find it funny that he doesn't understand what's going on and blaming the organizers. He should move his ass, go to the US then, what the hell is he doing in Japan then? C'mon, he was being misled by the organizers, how stupid you are if you don't know what's they're talking about unless you just understand that big money is being offered to him.
9513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will SEC approve BITCOIN ETF ? on: November 09, 2018, 07:52:15 PM
Smiley Smiley Smiley
If Sec accept Bitcoin ETF , we can expect the huge bull run for the market .
What do you think ? Will Sec accept bitcoin ETF ?

We really say for certain if SEC will approve any ETF, but you need to ask yourself, is this market manipulated? If you answer YES, then there's no way that we will get approval. Maybe its imminent, but not this year though. If you're expecting a massive bull run similar to 2017 it won't happen as well even if ETF is approve because investors are smarter now, they won't simply buy any news at all.
9514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this good news? on: November 08, 2018, 10:38:53 PM
“We urge the government to break away from negative perceptions and hesitation, and draw up bills to help develop the blockchain industry and prevent side effects involving cryptocurrencies.” - Korean Bar Association

Will this encourage trust and investment or its just a way to bring crypto under surveillance and regulations?

No. This kind of news is not enough in my opinion to push the price again although this is really a welcoming news especially for South Koreans. Again, we really do have a lot of interesting news coming out but its seems that investors are no longer interested or just waiting for the big one, SEC ETF's review and decision and the Bakkt physical bitcoin offerings. I think those two will really impact the market in a positive way, so we have to watch out for this news in the next coming days.
9515  Economy / Speculation / Re: New Bitcoin growth in 2019 on: November 08, 2018, 10:02:32 PM
Experts predict $20,000 for bitcoin in the 2019. When will Bitcoin reach this point in your opinion?

Hmm. I have a bit of mix emotions, specially hearing the predictions of this so called experts, again. Obviously, we wanted to see bitcoin making a run for another all-time-high every year so it doesn't change a bit. We wanted to see it happened in 2018, but no, what we witnessed is a dramatic fall? Then can we say that 2019 will bring new hope? Maybe, maybe not as we don't have a crystal ball to see and predict the future. If there's a lot of positive news then surely it will bring some impact to the price because this market is based purely on speculation. So its really hard to say what 2019 can bring to us.
9516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be the currency of our future? on: November 08, 2018, 09:42:21 PM
Hey,

I have been investing in some btc recently and i have seen that in my country i can pay for example in a pizza restaurant (when i order online) with online coins.
Do you think that btc will become the future currency of our world?

When you say currency of the future, does it mean it will make fiat obsolete? Again, I don't see it happening though, perhaps bitcoin will be widely accepted as means of on-line payment or even you can purchase something in your local groceries or pizza for that matter. But if you are thinking that it will replace fiat, it won't happen. Let's take for example USD, do you think that bitcoin can replace it as the universal currency? I don't think so.
9517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just inspiring on: November 08, 2018, 09:15:27 PM
What do you expect? He is just a kid, what's inspiring about this story though is that you can really made a lot of money in cryptoverse, but you have to be very very careful of your investments as well because it can go on either direction as well. At least he is not as dumb as this Indian Teenager Threatens to Blow Up Miami Airport over Alleged Bitcoin Scam. Grin
9518  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Are You looking for easy way to make money and you want to be a billionaire ? on: November 08, 2018, 08:49:17 PM
HAHAHA people are stupid. thinks in this type of investment.. fucking idiots

Believed it or not, there are a lot of gullible people who blindly trust anyone specially if they see $$$. Their decision is clouded and sooner or later they will find it the hard way. Again, all red flags are in place, a newbie account, too good too be true offers, so another scam attempt in the forum. For those reading this, do not fall for this trap because there's no such thing as easy way to make money, unless you're dealing with criminal acts.
9519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we overcome the hard times? on: November 08, 2018, 08:20:52 PM
Hey guys, what do you think, can we be strong, and overcome this hard times when everything is red? How soon we will finally see bitcoin growing?

This is not the first time we have been in this kind of situation. We have been in worst situations before, like after the Mt. Gox heist wherein the price suddenly plummeted and all hope was lost. The bear market went on for like a year or two, but hodler didn't give up during that hard times and we see that after a couple of years, bitcoin started to recover and the price push to its all-time-high last year ($19k++). So yes, we will see bitcoin growing again, its just a matter of time. On the bright side, this is accumulation period for most of us so, I suggest you do that as well.
9520  Economy / Economics / Re: S. Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia Outpace Europe in Crypto Awareness and Ownership on: November 07, 2018, 11:58:43 PM
Yes, sample size is too small to reflect the overall sentiments of countries mentioned. So its looks like its far from the truth to say the least. Only thing worth mentioning though about Indonesia is how big their community here, similar to other countries in Asia like Philippines, but it doesn't mean that the country pegged around 40% awareness though. Its too big and I can't imagine how crypto scene will be in Indonesia if that statistic is correct.
