9541  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be Bitcoin Price After 3 months? on: February 03, 2016, 11:02:16 AM
The Bitcoin price is in fact now very low. But I think the price will rise later.
At least I hope so. But we can never be predicted. Indeed, it is a course that is always and changed each time.

You think today's price is low? How about last year compared to the current price today?

Today's price is fine. If today's price will be the same as 10 years later then that is really ridiculous and you can called it very very low.

I find it also quite funny that some people find todays price to be "low" or "very low" as they like to say. These people only look at short term charts (if they happen to look at any chart at all) and say the price is low. They don't look at what growth Bitcoin has realized throughout the months.
9542  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: February 03, 2016, 10:56:59 AM
You can do that indeed. But gold remains gold. Bitcoin is very risky because because it can often be very much change.
But this risk you should take. Because you never know what can happen.

Every investment has a certain risk, especially if you are a short term minded trader.

Bitcoin vs Gold from the last 30 days; This period was bad for your Bitcoin investment, but decent for Gold.

Bitcoin ~ -13.90%
Gold ~ +5.10%

Bitcoin vs Gold from the last 6 months; This period was fantastic for your Bitcoin investment, but very disappointing for you Gold investment.

Bitcoin ~ +40.65%
Gold ~ +3.10%
9543  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is Buy time! on: February 03, 2016, 10:20:13 AM
i have my buy orders at $350. hope it gets filled.

If you put your buy order at $350, there is small chance that it will get filled. So good luck.

The chances of that order getting filled is 50% at this point as the price can go up or down at any moment. I think the chances of seeing the price come down to around $350 is even a little bit higher than seeing the price go up to around $390.
9544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of the bitcoin will jump again? on: February 03, 2016, 10:15:13 AM
I really think that's going to happen. The price is now very low indeed and I feel sure it goes up.
But many people have not the patience for it. But we must hope for it.

The current price is not very low.... If it was very low, then we wouldn't see the price stay long below $400 like now. People at this point don't know what to do or think. Many were expecting the price to rocket up at the beginning of this year, but it didn't happen. It will cost time before we leave this behind. Patience will be the key here. Those who have enough patience to wait it out will benefit, the others who don't, will end up buying at a premium.
9545  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-02-02] World’s first bitcoin mining IPO falls short on: February 03, 2016, 10:11:04 AM
Their market share of the total network power is just 1.2% according to the article. That may be a reason for the lower invested money. I am fairly sure that if a large Chinese pool would do the same, then they would surely come close to their target or they collect even more than that.
9546  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-02-02] European Action Plan to end anonymity of bitcoin on: February 03, 2016, 10:03:59 AM
Bitcoin is semi-anonymous.

I already know exchanges include all the information of me within the transactions, that's why I simply use a mixer to get fresh coins in return. It's just a nonsense action if this plan turns out to be reality at some point. Let them also focus on pawn shops where people can easily sell physical gold and walk out the store with thousands of fiat in a matter of 5 minutes.
9547  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: February 02, 2016, 09:15:24 AM
yes i am nether gonna sell any of my coins at this time because its the common thing with bitcoin it goes down people think it crashed and then it again started rising

And its not practical to sell coins this time, price its now low, won't get any profit this time if we sell it...
true. please be patient and don't panic, you can sell it soon, price will up
i hope

I think it's a matter of 2 or 3 months before we see the price gain ground to higher than the $450 level. A lot people have bought their coins around $400 so they have no other option than waiting for the price to go higher than that level.
9548  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-02-02] Bitcoin Price Technical Analysis- Ready for Another Break Out? on: February 02, 2016, 09:10:31 AM
Break out? Not really. I think we'll keep bouncing between the well known $360-$410 levels for some time.

The break out will come closer to the halving, not now. There are also rumors of MMM <Ponzi> nearing a full collapse and I think this will push the Bitcoin price down a lot more. In many countries MMM asked users to shift funds using Bitcoin and if MMM collapse, a lot of people would move away from Bitcoin, because it would be associated with the largest Ponzi ever.

Bitcoin will have the reputation linked to Ponzi schemes and we will be tainted being associated with MMM.

I think the price crash from $500 in november was mainly caused because of the MMM coins being dumped, so I'm not really worried about this. But if..... If these coins haven't been dumped yet, then yes, we can expect the price to tank even more.
9549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Blockchain.info UI on: February 02, 2016, 09:05:39 AM
It's funny that they put time and effort in updating their UI while their site has been known for being buggy and showing incorrect data. These bugs have been there since the very beginning and still nothing has been done to fix them. I will wait till the beta version has some decent updates so I won't be annoyed by any errors in their UI.
9550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that Satoshi is still active on Bitcointalk.org? on: February 02, 2016, 09:01:37 AM
Over the last few years the posts in this forum has pretty much degenerated into garbage. Why on earth would Satoshi bother wasting his time on the crap discussions that we're having these days?

Mostly this.

Also, there has nothing for Satoshi left to be done for the community or the software itself. I would want him to return once to know what he thinks about the current nonsense block size issue. That would be nice, but I don't think it will happen.
9551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we going to stay at $400 for a long time? on: February 02, 2016, 08:51:10 AM
when the price is about to be stagnant, i expect a pump near or far from now, whitout considering the halving that should drive up the price

I do expect some action in the markets this week pushing the price closer to $400 again, but after that it will probably come down again to around $380 as we have seen happening plenty of times already. We need to be 1 or 2 months away from the block halving to see some positive effect on the price.
9552  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoinocracy: If non-Core hard fork wins, major holders will sell BTC on: February 02, 2016, 08:48:38 AM
Let them sell. Perhaps that will cause the Bitcoin spread to be much better and more fair. Instead of 1 person with thousands of coins, there will be 50-100 people holding these coins. It's just big talk. Action speaks louder than words!
9553  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Domains] Bitcoin & Other domains. on: February 01, 2016, 11:44:59 AM
Bump.
9554  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: February 01, 2016, 11:34:39 AM
im pretty sure almost everyone on the forum believes in bitcoin.if they didnt, what would they be doing on this forum lol.

as for myself, i think bitcoin has great potential, which is why im holding on to it. until it skyrockets.

People who don't think Bitcoin will be a future currency or when they simply don't like it enough, they just stay here for the signature campaigns to earn some bucks. Just look at the newbies who are joining as their first posts are 'Where can I join a signature campaign?' & 'How to earn money quick?' etc.
9555  Economy / Speculation / Re: We will be at 600+ again after all the FUD is cleared on: February 01, 2016, 11:29:25 AM
Y'all talking about core devs fixing things...
You realize they have been 'solving' these issues for like 4 years right...? What changed this time? Oh wait nothing changed, we will still be having this same discussion 2 years from now when the price is 10-30 and Y'all be saying devs are almost ready to roll out the solution.

Until I see some actual improvements I remain skeptical.

IF solutions are implemented, bitcoin can be really great.

Well the devs admit themselves they suck at communicating
Stuff does go on behind the scenes on their github discussions and website but not everyone really bothers to look there for stuff.
Until the implementation is done I'm with you skeptical but getting hopeful that we are boiling down to the essence of what needs to be done and implemented.

If they openly admit that they suck at communicating with the outside world, then they shouldn't talk at all in public. I want them to come up with a solution that suits us all instead of keeping talking about stuff we already know. People have been waiting long enough, isn't it?
9556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Sentiment Poll on: February 01, 2016, 11:24:08 AM
I voted bearish, will reach $100.

I wish i had other options, like - will drop to $250.

I can settle for Flat and range bound. Seems reasonable.

Any way, very telling that 53% + are bullish. To me, that is a bad sign.

I've changed that option to 'price will fall' rather than naming a price, I didn't really mean $100 as a target although thats how it sounded. Anyway, I'll let the poll run as is, although modifiying options is probably not good.

Bulls winning so far, not sure if thats a bullish signal or contrarian bearish   Undecided

I have seen a lot people turn from ultra bullish to just bullish on the edge of being bearish lately. There were a lot people posting stuff like the price will rise to $1000 and even $2000 after the block halving. These people lowered their tone significantly.
9557  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-02-01] Antpool to start testing Bitcoin Classic beta on: February 01, 2016, 11:10:14 AM
That is good. If that test is successful, Bitcoin Core can also adopt the 2MB block size reliably.

Core developers should put some action to their words and come up with the update people are waiting for. If the adoption of the Classic client gets wide support, then any alternative can gain ground at some point in the future. Is this really what we want?
9558  Economy / Speculation / Re: New bear market? on: January 31, 2016, 11:25:18 PM
If this is indeed a bear market, then it definitely isn't new. This has been going on for the past few weeks. I am curious to find out where it will settle before recovering. My guess is somewhere in the range of $340-$350.
9559  Economy / Speculation / Re: We will be at 600+ again after all the FUD is cleared on: January 31, 2016, 10:03:21 PM
How much chatter is there in China about this? There's one guy on reddit who's taking the time to translate some forum messages and that's about it. From the very slim sample that that offers it sounds like it's an issue they're only just waking up to.

China doesn't care much about the issues we are facing here. They have basically the control in their hands as they rule the majority of the hashpower. They support the core client and will patiently wait for an agreement.
9560  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-0129] Five Ways the Developing World Uses Bitcoin on: January 31, 2016, 12:25:42 PM
I am a strong supporter of everything that helps these people move forward with their life with as little poverty as possible. Bitcoin is already being a solid currency for these people, but it can be even better if there are several Bitcoin related ATM's placed in popular places in for example Africa, South Armerica and so on. People must be able to convert Bitcoin into their local currency back and forth without hassle.

The 5 mentioned uses in third world countries are nothing special as much more can be achieved with better planning and a bit more effort. But if I have to choose one of 5 options, I like usecase 3 the most.
