I was actually wondering about that a few days ago, from a psychological point of view. When we see a post that is (well) merited, we focus on the content, but cannot avoid looking at who merited it and how much. That could lead to: a) Nothing, I’m immutable to influence other than the post content itself (poster may or may not also be a subconscious factor, but that’s not what I’m on about right now). b) It influences me (conscious or subsconscious) to merit the post, because others have already found it deserving of merits. c) It influences me (conscious or subsconscious) not to merit the post, because it has already been merited enough. Scenario "a" is the most objective one, but I bet "b" and "c" play a heavy hand on some multi-merited posts. That is part of the psychology, and it would be an interesting experiment (conceptually) to do something similar to what Instagram is doing is some places (hide the "like"), by hiding the merits on the posts from viewers (except the person merited), and seeing what happens. Asking questions, although not top of the list, is definitively one of the criteria on my agenda that can be merited. For example, the question in the OP: - Is a decent question. - Can serve multiple people in doubt when they obtain their first merit (generating 0,5 sMerits). - Shows an attitude towards wanting to participate in a System from the start, specifically on the awarding side of the system. - The question comes from a Newbie (presumably) who, on balance, is trying to learn and participate in a positive way. - Newbie profiles may be looked at with a more laxed criteria than others. - Having awarded 3.852 sMerits as of last Friday, in 3.451 TXs, to 800 different profiles, criteria needs to be diverse. |

Bueno, sería desSmetitar realmente … En varias ocasiones se ha hablado en el foro de eliminar los sMéritos del airdrop inicial que aún quedan en cuentas, bien sea de manera abrupta (todos de golpe), bien gradual, en base a un proceso de decadencia de los mismos. Esto último si lo planteó @theymos como una posibilidad, pero no ha tomado forma, ni por ahora creo que lo haga. Yo preferiría que se hiciese con el airdrop inicial cuanto menos. Sería una especie de purga del sMérito que, en términos de beneficios, tendría como activo eliminar la posibilidad de que cuentas pudiesen retornar en algún momento y hacer un uso ilegítimo del mismo. Claro que de la misma manera, podrían retornar y hacer un uso adecuado del mismo (y con más probabilidad). Lo que si podemos decir es que, en agregado, suma un pico, y está en cuentas que no participan en el juego de otorgar méritos en demasía. En relación al airdrop inicial de sMéritos, éste fue de 600K. La cantidad total de sMéritos otorgados en el foro mediante TX es de 540.838, pero tenemos adicionalmente que: - Las fuentes de Mérito actualmente general 21.671 sMéritos por mes potencialmente (actualmente, antes era menos). - Cada sMérito otorgado genera 0,5 sMéritos más en el sistema. Es decir (a muy groso modo): + 600.000 sMéritos Iniciales (según indicó @theymos) - 540.838 sMéritos enviados + 270.419 sMéritos generados por halving (no todos enviables – hay gente con 0,5 sMéritos por ejemplo). + 240.000 méritos introducidos por las fuentes de mérito (siendo conservador, 10k*24 meses) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 569.581 sMéritos en cuentas. Claro que no todos son enviables como he indicado antes (los 0,5s no lo son), pero, a ojo cubero, pueden haber 300K como poco del airdrop inicial que no se han movido, y que a estas alturas dudo que se muevan mucho. Merit Source redistribution and reassignment took place on the 14/11/2019 (perhaps a day before, but I captured my screen shot on the referenced date). 30 days later is when the Merit allowances get replenished (same rate as date-30 days sMerit expenditure), so that process is taking place now, and last week’s reading (as of Friday 13/12/2019) caught the allowances at the end of their cycle, without the replenishing effect taking place yet. Additionally, the coming xMas period may have some effect either way in the coming weeks (more time available or less time depending on how each one deals with out of routine time). |

En cuanto al baneo por plagio, en Meta se abrió un hilo que logró suavizar algo la penalización. Aunque su efecto en el grueso de los baneos es escaso, ciertas cuentas, a raíz de este hilo, lograron conmutar su baneo permanente por un baneo de firma durante un periodo determinado (normalmente uno o dos años). Cada caso no obstante es diferente, y realmente las cuentas que finalmente han logrado el baneo de firma en vez del permanente, son cuentas que se consideran "net positive". Es decir, que llevan cierta trayectoria en el foro, aportando al foro mucho más que lo que pesa en el lado negativo de la balanza. El hilo es éste: Alternatives to Permabans for plagarism. En la encuesta del OP se observa que el 78% estaba a favor de algún tipo de solución, pero como indicaba anteriormente, se optó por la solución 1 sólo para positivos netos (a discreción de los moderadores globales y(o administradores si no me equivoco), y sin un marco de tiempo de respuesta formal para los casos apelados. |

As far as I’m aware, nuking indeed applies only to Newbie accounts. I don’t know the reasons, but it may have to do with Jr. Member rank being reached before with simply 30 Activity (no Merit requirement initially), and that most nuked accounts were so due to garbage posts. Technically though, one can demote his own account by deleting posts, since post deletion may reduce the Activity counter, and this his own rank. Some people do that when cleansing their posting history for one reason or another. Since sMerit awarding is not moderated, reporting merit abuse cases would be rather fruitless. In the past, there were some threads were people would list suspected cases (see Suspected users that are abusing merit 3.0 for example), but all that these cases really led to at most, was for one or both parties to receive negative trust at the time. Trust should not really be for this sort of situations, so after some debate, tagging for this motive I think cooled down a notch. That, and the fact that, as time goes by, (blatant) merit abuse cases diminish. I’m sure that, if we went on a case by case basis, we could still see some absurd cases that are at best poorly awarded, but the amount should not be significant in the overall picture (lest it should become a hot topic again due to abundant cases). Only on a few selected occasions has merit abuse been reversed (I recall a hacked account sending merit in large chunks, a Merit Source handing out large amounts too easily, and another case whose details I cannot recall now). That kind of suggests that, in the big picture, the amount of abuse is considered non-significant; at least not large enough to create a formal procedure to deal with it. Those cases that one spots as blatant cases suck, and one would like to be able to get them reversed or nullified, but I figure that introducing judgment over judgment was kept at bay, lest it be needed. It seems not. |

El tema del plagio aquí realmente no tiene la finalidad de proteger la propiedad intelectual, sino de evitar que el copiar/pegar se use como método acelerador para crear posts, u obtener méritos adicionalmente hoy en día. Es decir, se pretende castigar el proceso de “vagancia” camuflado de sapiencia. Claro que en el fuego cruzado seguro que hay falsos positivos, o casos que se categorizan mal, o cuanto menos son objeto de debate. Cuando miro mi histórico de reportes al moderador, observo que tengo actualmente 12 reportes erróneos. Varios de ellos son debatibles, y creo que mal marcados, pero en otros probablemente me equivocase en el juicio, o los posts fueron modificados en contenido entre mi reporte y el momento de ver el caso el moderador. Con esto quiero decir que, no siempre concordamos con los moderadores, ni ellos con nosotros. Esta mañana, en otro hilo, indicaba que desconozco cómo se tratan estos casos en otros foros de gran actividad. No sé si el plagio conlleva el baneo, si permiten apelar, si son efectivas las apelaciones, etc. Todo el sistema de apelaciones se podría llevar mejor, partiendo de la base de que se debería informar con detalle las causas de los baneos, indicando el post concreto origen. El factor tiempo juega aquí en contra de tener un proceso más elaborado, y aunque sería deseable, probablemente no se concrete por eso, por falta de tiempo para crear procesos más laboriosos. Puesto a mejorar, se podría crear una especie de “carnet por puntos”, donde los reportes en contra de uno descuentan puntos hasta que llegues a cero y seas baneado (obviamente el plagio no debería en este esquema contar tanto como para dejarte a cero de entrada). A su vez, pondría un marco temporal, de manera que los “delitos” de más de x tiempo de antigüedad no puedan contabilizarse (2 años por ejemplo). Claro que todo esto es un factor complicador, que no creo que pudiese ni tan siquiera plantearse con vistas a tener éxito. |

No conocía la existencia de Hydra, así que he indagado algo más acerca de los objetivos tácticos que tienen al acudir a una ICO: - Financiar un nuevo servicio llamado Eternos, una especie de mercado negro mundial combinado con un Messenger encriptado, un intercambio de criptodivisas, un browser anónimo tipo Tor, resolución de disputas mediante AI, y un mercado OTC. - Todo lo anterior, como es lógico, sin KYC. - Se pretende emitir 1,470,000 tokens, y prometen unos dividendos de 500$ en BTC si el tenedor posee más de 100 tokens. Hydra dice tener una base de 3M de cuentas, con más de 100k acciones comerciales cada día. Los pagos en Hydra se hacen en BTC (genial para el PR), o transferencias en forma de dnero electrónico, con entregas en lugares secretos, desvelados ad-hoc para cada entrega.
