9561  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10 BTC. Will I be a millionaire by 2030? on: December 08, 2015, 06:23:44 PM
Id be happy to see 100k a coin but without being delusional i cant see that ever happening. if we make 1 k id be pretty happy but still not rich Sad

based on this possibility everyone should hold 1 btc for a very long time, just to see if we can reach 100k one day

i know i will hold at least a small portion of my amount, just in case those crazy value will come, well i think at that point we are going to utilize bitcoin directly so the value will no matter much anymore....
9562  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the highest price BTC can see in 2015? on: December 08, 2015, 06:20:37 PM
What I have seen it was 400 dollars in my own eyes.
I have heard from people that the highest was 502 dollars.

it was 505 on bitfinex apparently, just google on the chart for that exchange
9563  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stable Bitcoin Price on: December 08, 2015, 04:01:20 PM
Bitcoin will never be at a stable price. That's just not the way this market works.
There will always be pumps and dumps it's inevitable.

i guess this is the outcome of having a decentralized system like bitcoin, fiat can be much stable because their are issued by a central authority

i don't mind a bit of instability even when the adoption will be big, as ong is nothing crazy like +100% of value in 2-3 days or something
9564  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: December 08, 2015, 03:52:53 PM
I'm sorry  but  I just have two predictions, BTC will either succeed (price increase and adoption)  or end up a dead coin. Grin Grin Grin

by how the things are going, the first look much more probable than the latter, based on this one should invest now and not waiting when btc will skyrocket

the same was true when btc was under <$100 but many have committed the same error, thinking that it was only a bubble and and it would not go much further....
9565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is a computer game on: December 08, 2015, 01:23:22 PM
yeah and in fact there altcoin that have implemented a game inside it like the old good huntercoin, sadly it was a bot fest at the end so it did not worked well

but i've always see it as a game on pure numbers, maybe in one of the sidechain we could repliacate a real game where you can earn bitcoin by playing, it's my little dream
9566  Economy / Speculation / Re: 400$ was the top on: December 08, 2015, 01:20:11 PM
FALLING FALLING FALLING.

Where is my credit for being right now?
When I posted this thread, price was 394$, now is 384$, this is 2.5% loss predicted my be my friends.

I don't know where are you checking the bitcoin price but the price is increasing and we can see that it is a difference of $7.45 since yesterday.

I don't know where are you checking the bitcoin price but the price is DEcreasing and we can see that it is a difference of $7.65 since 1 hour ago.

First of all, on some exchanges, it reached above $500, so the title itself ain't convincing...
And second thing, even if it's decreasing, don't worry... If you are so concerned about price, buy and hodl till halving then... Wink

You can read when I created the topic? Tell me, on which exchange did the price reached 500$ since then, hm?

it happened on bitfinex

9567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you trust your Bitcoins to a Bitcoin Bank with annual 10% interest rate? on: December 08, 2015, 01:15:09 PM
I'm sure it's already been stated but isn't the whole point of bitcoin that we can be our own bank? Besides, if bitcoin is adopted worldwide and it continues to grow bitcoin will naturally gain interest and much more than 10% a year. Haven't we already grown ny much more than this this year alone and we didn't need to let filthy banks hold our coins.

The 10% a year is in bitcoin terms not usd terms. If you hold it by itself your btc will not grow, it may grow in usd terms but number of bitcoins held is the same!! I would like to have such a service given that its trustworthy, at least some proof of how they get their money.

basically like having a sidechain that turn bitcoin in a pos coin, i can see this happening in the future, and why not, it is certainly welcome to have one
9568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Supply & Demand Price Contradictions: Bitcoin / Gold / Silver on: December 08, 2015, 01:13:53 PM
Silver has crashed in the last 5 years and continues to capitulate-

Gold  has also crashed -

Whether you look at 1 yr , 2 yr or 5 year chart .... what is inescapable is a large correction from a previous bubble and oversupply/.

it's because beyond their speculative nature and manufacturing they are not really needed for everyday usage, on the other hand bitcoin can be heavily used as fiat currency

so it has more chance to see a well deserved fate in the future
9569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Thinking of downloading Bitcoin Core on: December 08, 2015, 11:30:49 AM
If you're going to use it then it is goin to take a lot of space memory so it is up to you

it's only around 55gb, many hd or even ssd can reach 1 tera easily, and i doubt the blockchain is following the more law, about storage increase

really 55gb nowadays is very tiny compared to the previous decade
9570  Economy / Speculation / Re: 232 days before bitcoin block reward halving on: December 08, 2015, 11:24:22 AM
please stop thinking that it will happen the exact same date of the halving, this is utterly stupid, actually it is already happening, for what it's worth saying

but you guy are so stabborn to thing otherwise, it's not so beyond reality to think that the last pump that touched 500, was also due to the halving, done in disguise so only few can get profit from it

miners have plenty of coins they are also manipulators, i'm not believing that in the lean times, they dumped everything, most likely they accumulate a good stash of coins
9571  Economy / Economics / Re: Shall I hold or invest with %12.5 premium per year ? on: December 08, 2015, 11:18:53 AM
the only problem is I think bitcoin will double when the halving comes. So maybe wait for that
then do it?

Bitcoin is not going to double at the halving. Get real.

speaking of which, we have already seen a double until now, and right now we are at around 80% increase, so when the halving kick in, you're right we won't double, but mostly like do a nice x4 versus the previous value, which was 230...

do not think that the last pump has nothing to do with the halving already, the effect of the halving can enter much early than many believe
9572  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: December 08, 2015, 11:17:08 AM
Yes Bitcoin price is matter, the higher the price its mean more demand, the more demands mean lots of people is interested

if a lot of people is interested its could mean bitcoin going to last longer

also most of them think bitcoin as passive income, the higher the price its mean the people's income will become larger

Eventually when everyone does know about bitcoin and have made a choice to use it or not, the price probably wouldn't matter.

this will only be true when the price will be very high already, so yes at that point it won't matter anymore, because it will be already enough for everyone to use it
9573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: block halving date on: December 08, 2015, 09:05:11 AM
if everyone expects a price surge its guaranteed to plummet right? lol

no, everyone was expecting it for litecoin and it happened, with bitcoin it's even more sure that it will happen

the real question is when?

On the block number 420000, the halving will occur from current 25BTC to 12.5BTC generation.
Litecoin almost got 6 fold surge at the time of it's halving. I too believe bitcoin prices also will go to unimaginable levels on this halving.

Wishful thinking !

When litecoin halved nothing actually happened. The pump happened as a result of a chinese ponzi scheme.

the pump that happnened prior to the halving(the x10 one) was because of the hype around the halving, it did not occur the same date of the halving, because it is not how it work with the halving, is not a dating or something, it can happen around the halving that's it

However, the pump of an altcoin like Litecoin could have happened... by mandate.
Why in hell would so many people buy Litecoin just because the block halving is coming?
Doesn't make sense.
Somebody started the downhill roll, and sheeps followed.

because everyone think that it will increase, so they begin to buy en mass, then you get the increase demand, that bring even more demand

yes we can say the usual "it was at first done by manipulators then fish come in to be sucked into it", but sometime i believe that a simply small demand can evolve into a bigger one
9574  Other / Off-topic / Re: DO YOU HAVE 1 BITCOIN? on: December 08, 2015, 08:59:46 AM
I had one bitcoin, then I sent it to a scammer  Undecided

it does not matter, now someone else has one more bitcoin, and anyway seeing how the nature of bitcoin is, not everyone can hold one bitcoin at the end

in the future we would do the same thread but with " do you have 1 bit" instead of bitcoin
9575  Other / Off-topic / Re: The maximum bitcoin you have in total till now on: December 08, 2015, 08:56:43 AM
There are not many rational reasons why  someone would be interested to know the amount of Bitcoins of random forum users. This thread is useless.

besides knowing the distribution about the bitcoin wealth, which would still be pointless with this kind of sample
9576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: December 08, 2015, 08:55:18 AM
Bitcoin has no killer app yet. That stops people from using bitcoin everyday.
I personally don't use bitcoin every day, because i don't need to/its not easier/faster etc.
There are situations that Bitcoin is better, but they are not that common.

this is a silly reason, bitcoin is the killer application itself, no need for fancy stuff to advertise it, it's money

people simple choose or not to use this new money, if not it's because they do not trust it, seeing how we are speaking about money, only trust matter here
9577  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekend target $320 on: December 08, 2015, 08:47:26 AM
$410-$430 ??
You are delusional, the price will drop to 300 after it hits 400 watch.

From where are you getting this numbers, i highly believe that the chinese exchanges will pump the price to more than 400 not dropping it below 400 again.

Bitcoin is heavily affected by market manipulation, but what I wonder is...where do these people sell such huge amounts of Bitcoin?

on the market? slowly, without increasing too much the pressure to not scare those that will buy their dump

privately do avoid completely affecting the market, and have more freedom on the quantity?
9578  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10 BTC. Will I be a millionaire by 2030? on: December 08, 2015, 08:44:37 AM
Keep on dreaming bud,
There is no chance in hell Bitcoin's value will increase 10,000x

14 years is quite a long time. Bitcoin has made 10000x value increase in the past 6 years, so it is not completely unrealistic.

Besides, 10 btc at 1 million is not a 10,000x increase, but 'only' 2,500x at current price.

i must have missed the 10000x value increase in the past 6 years of bitcoin, because i don't remember any, if we consider the beginning until the 1200 ath, that's only 1200x increase
9579  Economy / Speculation / Re: Unable to break $400 on: December 08, 2015, 08:42:11 AM
nah, i don't think so, we have broken the 400 before, they are on purpose playing on this range for earning more before the next furious pump

there is no mental barrier actually, there are only artificial barriers created for stacking more coins
9580  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $500 during december? on: December 08, 2015, 08:40:44 AM
reach $1000 at december

Get real, i'd bet $1000 on bitcoin not reaching $1000 in december.

I agree, Not even half of it which is $500

We are getting closer to $400 but with 3 weeks to go till New Year there is no reason for another round of pump and dump except for buying Christmas Gifts on or before the 25th but most already made their shopping last Thanks Giving Day

500 is still very feasible, remember that bitcoin in just three days increased by 100% in the last pump, so it's not about the time needed, but about the luck if it will happen in a short time frame like that

luck is involved by premises and certain conditions that unleashed the demand
