9581  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Which country is legal for gambling on: November 15, 2016, 07:42:07 PM
In Canada it is not prohobited but you have to get a licence. The same holds for France and the UK. When I looked at statistics I fot surprised that it is illegal in so many countries, because people gamble anyway. In Israel were is a funny situation with it. Gambling is prohibited unless it is Israeli national lottery and Sports Gambling controlled by the government.
9582  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: i heard bitcoin illegal in Taiwan...why? on: November 15, 2016, 07:34:09 PM
Bitcoin is illegal in many countries. I think the main reason is that Bitcoin is sort of out of the government's control and it is hard to create some special taxes. So, it is naturally illegal. Add here the fact that Bitcoin can be used anonymously. And is that realy true about Taiwan? Some old news say it won't become illegal http://www.coindesk.com/taiwan-finance-regulation-bitcoin-ban/. And Wiki says that 'While bitcoin itself is not illegal here, approvals for bitcoin ATMs have been refused'.
9583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price to hit $1000 around June 2017 on: November 13, 2016, 05:07:19 PM
We tend to mix up different things. Bitcoin is pure math in a way. And yet it doesn't mean that it's price can be mathematically predicted for real. Because our world is not math. Everything is changing here and you never now whether you will still be where you are in the future. So, we shouldn't think that Bitcoin will really be 1000 in June. A lot of things can happen till then.
9584  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this rumor enough to pull the price down? on: November 13, 2016, 05:04:29 PM
I think that something like a very big rumour can control Bitcoin. A few months ago I was offering to do an experiment on this forum, writing different threads about bitcoin promising t obe very profitable in the nearest future, so we could see whether something happens with the price but forum members didn't like this idea.
9585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling vs Real Gambling on: November 13, 2016, 04:58:22 PM
I think there are reasons to make online gambling illegal. We are still more used to real life. And in real life we now we have to contrlol ourselves, because otherwise the consequences will be bad. In our virtual reality we feel more free. It is more like something unreal, like a game where everything is not as serious as in real life. SO you are likely to lose more money here.
9586  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: November 13, 2016, 04:55:49 PM
I guess we will see everything fall and bitcoin rise Cheesy I dont think it will drop below 400 in the next 8 months.
you are right bitcoin is really increasing its price too much higher and bitcoin adoption is going to increasing too much faster because people strongly believe in bitcoin.

After 20 long years bitcoin can replace fiat. As long as there are believers bitcoin can go on the place that no one expected. Bitcoin will be the base of all fiat and crypto currency.
I bet you on that, it will not happen. I am sure after 20 years dollar will still in the circulation but I doubt bitcoin will still be progressive that time or there will be new crypto currency that will take over the position of bitcoin.

You are right, we have to believe but we should reserve some doubts as well, especially when you are comparing it to a more stronger fiat.

Selling today is not going to be a good thing if you are holding a lot of bitcoins. You just need to be more patient because the price will increase as we wait for its continuous fluctuation. But I don't think that 20 years from now bitcoin will replace that is a different thing. But if you will just running for profit, just wait for the right time.
I don't think we can wait till some special time comes and sell Bitcoin, because it will become only more popular in the near (20 years) future. Selling it when it reaches $1000 might be one of the greatest mistakes. However, if someone needs money now I think it is fine to sell Bitcoin even if it costs $500, because we can wait till we become rich and die before that happens.
9587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: November 13, 2016, 04:52:13 PM
I think that Bitcoin is the Future monay but only for some period of time. We came through 2 World wars and now live in a relatively peaceful world. That means that it's time for some changes and further development of science. This is why BTC appeared and why it will be popular in the near future. However, when the bad time comes with too many social problems - BTC will become absolutely useless.
9588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin help your life in daily needs? on: November 13, 2016, 04:48:50 PM
Well, Bitcoin can't help in daily needs, because I can't use it anywhere. However, I think that the fact that I use money from exchanging Bitcoin into something else and spend the money, may be considered as using Bitcoin. If I was in Switzerland where you can pay municipals using BTC I would totally do that.
9589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: November 12, 2016, 09:05:06 PM
It is sad that people choose 'yes' mostly. For me it is very important to follow the rules government sets, I'm Kantian in this way. Kant said that we mustn't lie or violate the rules even if it seems to be not a big deal, because thus we ruin the basement of all the law system. I know it's already too ruined but I prefer to stick to this rule.
9590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does a President Trump mean for Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2016, 08:55:12 PM
Since the election of Trump to the new US President yesterday, many questions about Bitcoin arise.

Will he promote Bitcoin and make it a breakthrough? Will he even officially ban Bitcoin? Will he make such a bad economic (and monetary) policy that Bitcoin will be seen as an alternative for many?

What do you think, what will a President Trump mean for Bitcoin?
It all depends on what will Trump be like now. Were his populist claims only connected to the aim of being elected or are these his real intentions. If the latter, I think bitcoin might become a part of USA's concern. And check out this group on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Donald-Trump-accepts-Bitcoin-as-the-new-USA-currency-997052920317519/ ! It is not very popular yet but it's cool, I guess.
9591  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you help with bitcoin? on: November 12, 2016, 08:47:23 PM
I think the best would be to make more news on TV about it or create a magazine, dedicated to Bitcoin and interview famous people, make quizzes on the topic with some valuable prices etc. I don't think that investing money in some casinos would be more helpful.
9592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what is definition gambling in your mind? on: November 12, 2016, 08:44:52 PM
I suppose we can't give a perfect definition but gambling is a kind of activity which involves spending money and may lead to addiction. However, I am not sure whether gambling is really an action. Well, you certainly do something when you play poker, for example but is it the same when you just put your money on something in dice? Not sure about that.
9593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: November 12, 2016, 08:40:35 PM
Sure giving up isn't easy. Otherwise, it wouldn't be called a disease. I think that is you want to quit gambling, you have to make some rules for yourself and consider that like a game. So, consider it a game. Set a fixed amount of money you allow yourself to spend on gambling every day. And do your best to pick up something else instead of it. Some sport activity, for instance.
9594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is betting a good choice for a newbie? on: November 11, 2016, 08:11:43 PM
I am earning and collecting bitcoin to bet on sports in future. Will it be a good choice to invest in it betting or other things.Where should i invest my bitcoin to have a long term profit?
You shouldn't start gambling or betting. Come on, I'm sure you know it leads to serious addiction which can be considered as disease. I think investing money is always risky but if you are quite rich you may try investing in one of btc casinos with good reputation. I think they will become even more popular with time than they are now. Or you may try your luck and invest in some other cryptocurrency or even a few of them. I think some currency will become nearly as strong as bitcoin with time.
9595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most precise definition of gambling? on: November 11, 2016, 08:08:02 PM
Gambling comes apparently from Old English gamenian "to play, joke, pun" which is related to our word 'game'. So, we can say that gambling is an act of playing some game involving money. Betting is considered by many to be more reasonable than gambling. For example, when you do sport betting you can (theoretically) analyze the teams, its strategies and chances.
9596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in on a Hillary win bet on: November 11, 2016, 08:03:08 PM
Poor OP. I think it was quite a surprize for lot's of us, so I understand him. That's why we should remember that due to american system of election the one who got less votes can win and that betting is a bad thing even when you feel like it is safe and there is a high probability for you to win. Undecided
9597  Economy / Economics / Re: How many BTC will make you a fiat millionaire in 5 years? on: November 11, 2016, 07:59:05 PM
I guess people on this forum think that nothing changes hugely is they voted for 'more than 1000 mostly'. Well, that seems fair, because we have never seen Bitcoin costing more than 1000 (or a bit more), so why should we think that the price would grow in more than 10 times in 5 years? However, there are big surprizes sometimes and we must remember that we can't infer the future things from present ones, just like Mr.Wittgenstein told us.
9598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just bought Bitcoin from a train ticket machine in Switzerland for a trip abroad on: November 11, 2016, 07:54:45 PM
It's great that Switzerland allows to purchase BTC already. I also heard that you can pay for your municipals using Bitcoin. I wonder why Switzerland is so progressive when USA, Iceland and other countries aren't, although they are strong in things not related to btc.
9599  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: November 11, 2016, 07:47:46 PM
When I read the question first, I didn't think it was about lost private keys. Come on, there are many verifications (phone, email, secret sentence) which help even if you lost the password and stuff. I thought it was about burnt Bitcoins and how many are burnt already is an interesting question. I have seen the news about 2000 BTC approximately, but I am not sure whether we can believe it.
9600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who can tell that when our luck come to us? on: November 10, 2016, 06:37:47 PM
I can tell you that luck never does, because there is no such thing. It is all pure mathematical probability with us giving some prefferences and taking one thing into consideration more than other. It is due to our mythological (partly) way of thinking.
