So the Patriots signed Cam Newton to a one year deal, which was a bit expected. It gets me excited tbh, because I am super curious what BB can (still) do with him and what will happen to the Patriots offensive scheme, if Newton will win the starting job.

I know a lot of people are not very high on Newton (anymore) and he had his fair share of health issues in the last years, but BB can do magic. What do all the Patriots fans in here think about the signing ?
962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 29, 2020, 09:29:33 AM
For Nürnberg I feel a bit bad. From relegating from the first league last season to now almost relegating again to the third league. I hope they manage to win their playoff games because I would miss them and I still think a club with such a long tradition should at least be part of the second Bundesliga.

As BILD (paywall) reports, Nürnberg will sack coach Keller even before the playoffs. The club didn't confirm yet, but Bild normally has very good insider infos - as shitty as they are in general. I think it would be a good move, because Keller is just going nowhere with the team and a new coach always has short-term effect. It's just these 2 games, where he has to push them. In the end it's all mental with the Nürnberg players, quality-wise they belong at the other end of the table.

I would also like them to stay in 2. Bundesliga, because what you would get from Dritte Liga instead, doesn't look any better (apart from Rostock Cool).

St. Pauli also sacked their coach shortly after yesterdays loss at Wehen.

Shenzhen - Shanxi ML Shenzhen @1.91 4/10
Fujian - Guangdong HC2 -20.5 @1.93 6/10
Beijing RF - Jilin HC1 -4.5 @1.87 6/10

Shenzhen won a Q4 nailbiter 90-88 FT after looking to have everything under control in Q3 already, +3.64.
Guangdong disappointed after leading with 24 at halftime. They took the foot off the gas in HT2 and just won with 17 in the end, 143-126 FT (quite some points Grin), -6.00.
Beijing RF couldn't save the day as well. The game was close throughout all 4 quarters, which is very unusual for CBA. Game went to OT accordingly, where Beijing failed to win with 5+ then. 117-115 AOT, -6.00. Better luck next time I guess.

Profit: +1.69
Yield: 3.52%
W-L: 7-5
Win rate: 58.33%
Average Stake: 4.00
Average Odds: 2.47

No bets for tomorrow most likely, Tuesdays games look more interesting again.

Bets for Tuesday:
Jilin - Jiangsu HC1 -2.5 @1.88 4/10
Nanjing - Liaoning ML Liaoning @2.43 8/10

Jilin has a bit more to play for than Jiangsu.
Nanjing has some injury trouble and Liaoning were super sharp today with their new coach.

People say go big or go home meaning to commit everything you have Roll Eyes so whats your take on this

to live off gambling, do you go for large lots or for the purpose of good account management you place a percentage of your a/c.

I am trying to have a proper money management, I wrote a bit about it here and here.

I like a go big or go home approach in general, but it's not sustainable with professional gambling. If you go big in gambling, you won't have a home to go to longterm, because you will be homeless sooner or later. There is this saying, that betting is a marathon and not a sprint - I hate this saying by now, because I have heard it gazillion times, but it's very true.

No bet is ever 100% safe and you should never stake more than single digit % of your bankroll on any bet, as tempting as it might be. And something like 10% of your bankroll on a single bet should be a very rare event and only if you have very good information & insight, when the odds represent tremendous value and have a good probability to win. This will happen not very often in your (betting) lifetime Wink The rest is just playing the long game and getting rid of the luck factor that every single bet has.

Gratz @bitmutiny, that was a long fight Grin

Globb0 finished in the points for the first time and was able to collect 6 additional tickets for the lottery with it. 225 tickets have been given out in total today.

Iv4n and CCwatcher420 ended their participations streak today and we are left with 5 players that joined every tournament thus far:

See you next Sunday Smiley

Also Nürnberg is in the Relegation now to the 3rd German League and they playing about Eintracht Braunschweig but i dont know the Dates and Time for that.

There are still 2 rounds to be played in Dritte Liga Wink And don't forget that Bayern II isn't eligible to promote, so if they finish in first place, #2 and #3 will go straight to 2. Bundesliga and #4 will play playoffs against Nürnberg, which is currently Ingolstadt.

The playoffs will be played on June 7th and June 11th with Nürnberg having home advantage first.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 28, 2020, 04:59:29 PM
Any idea on when will the play-off match between Werder and Heidenheim will happen?

They will play next Thursday and then the following Monday the second leg. Werder has home advantage first. Werder is 1.65-ish favourite for first leg and they better get some good result at Weserstadion, because Heidenheim is very strong at home (and poor in away games).
These teams met in DFB-Pokal earlier this season and Werder won 4-1 at home.

I wasn't able to get his whole strategy in gambling but kidding aside he was able to buy a car and a house in the 7 years that I know him gambling weekly.

Other people are able to buy cars and houses from the money they get for doing their jobs as well Wink

It really baffles everyone in the neighborhood as he does not have a job and judging by my previous visits, he frequently visit poker sites and invests heavily in cryptocurrency.

Huh ? He has a job, you and your neighbours just don't see it as his job, because for you it's unthinkable to make a living out of gambling (read: investing). Parking some of your money in other investements, like cryptocurrency, is a good idea, since you don't always need all your bankroll at once. So, if you feel comfortable having your money in such a volatile investment, why not Smiley

I might not be able to gather the courage to do what he does but he is an inspiration to me as a crypto enthusiast.

It doesn't take a lot of courage. Other people take risks too, when they start some business, have a little shop or whatever and take loans for it. Gambling/investing for a living is a bit unusual yes, but it's a job like any other in the end.
969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 28, 2020, 03:20:33 PM
Unbelievable that Hamburg lost to mighty Sandhausen in such a crucial game. With the help that Bielefeld provided by crushing Heidenheim, a draw would have been enough to secure that playoff spot Roll Eyes

If Heidenheim manages to promote to Bundesliga, I will stop watching football Tongue
Quoted for future reference lol Cool

Still in danger here, but I trust in Werder Grin
970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premium/Fixed Betting tips by Doris on: June 28, 2020, 11:49:52 AM
Just a little warning. We had the "famous" table tennis guru YohannHermann earlier this year, who opened similar threads with premium/fixed/free tips, but proved to be not legit. He also operated under different accounts later and everything points to Doris being Yohann again for me.

Confirmed Sports Picks~ Daily profit (20 free trials before paid version)
Yohann's Sports Picks at High Odds
SportsBetting Picks! Premium Service (Guaranteed Sports Wins)

Raymond Talker most likely belongs to Yohann/Doris as well, to bypass the 24 hour posting rule.

I recommend to not follow the bets, since you are very likely to lose money.
971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [AMA] The Life of a Professional Gambler on: June 27, 2020, 11:38:43 PM
It might be a little extreme but would you ever consider I have to leave this country Germany or EU or wherever and move to a more hospitable regime.   People who are 'too lucky' must do this eventually I guess.    Not in gambling but I know of some who spend 50.1% of their time outside their home country to avoid being taxed 50% like you describe and though awkward its workable like that.

Well, there is no income tax on gambling profits. Betting is considered a game of luck and thus it's not taxable here. The tax I have to pay, is directly at the bookmakers and it's officially 5% on your turnover. Most bookmakers have a model, where they pay the tax for you on losing bets (in fact they don't pay anything imo Grin). For winning bets, they take 5% of your profit and officially pay it to the State of Germany (in reality they don't pay anything again or just parts of it - they just increase their profit with it imo). Since this is an additional 5% I have to beat on top of the house edge, I don't play at these bookmakers no more.

There are also some bookmakers that have no tax at all for german customers, and they claim to pay all taxes from their money for you (again they don't pay anything imo). And then you have bookmakers that just don't care what Germany has to say, because they are sitting faaaaaaaaaaaaar away. This is all very chaotic, but I have adapted to it and where there is a will, there is a way. Mainly with agents.

So I never really considered moving to another country, at least not for betting purposes Wink And with a lot of bookmakers it would make no difference for me anyway, since I have been kicked out or limited by most of them, so I can't bet there anymore no matter where in the world I live. I would need someone else to place bets for me on a non-taxed account and for that I can as well stay where I am.

I think a better system is to tax the companies themselves on profits made (...)

I am no tax expert, but afaik, Germany can't tax a company that sits on some offshore island, even if it is serving german customers. They already struggle with taxing companies like Amazon properly for the business they do here Grin
972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 27, 2020, 10:56:05 PM
SC Freiburg under 40,5 league goals @8.50
Leipzig under 66,5 season points @2,90
Parlay @ 24,65

Just for the record, this bet lost, which was to be expected, if the season was not cancelled. The Leipzig bet actually was ok, but Freiburg found the back of the net way too often.

And Bremen survived temporarily Smiley

This game today made them already go halfway through regarding the playoffs against Heidenheim/Hamburg imo. They will take so much energy and self-confidence out of this, that they will have few trouble in relegation playoffs. They are far superior to whomever they will play and they have, albeit all the issues during the season, kept their good team spirit.

Horrible game by Koln! With this kind of defending they are the favourite for next years relegation.

I think they started the game quite well and if Modeste makes that 0-1 early......but they just weren't interested. Goalie Horn looked a bit strange at that 0-2 too Grin

In 2. Bundesliga we will have a similar scenario as in the Werder game.

Source: https://www.flashscore.com/standings/IBTYk9Sc/ltenUaUg/#table;overall

Nürnberg and Karlsruhe fight for that 15th place. As mentioned in this post Fürth will gift Karlsruhe the 3 points imo. Nürnberg plays @Kiel and I doubt they will win there, so Karlsruhe would take 15th place with a win then and send Nürnberg into relegation playoffs. To better understand the rivalry between Fürth and Nürnberg: The "Frankenderby" is the derby with the longest history in german (professional) football. There is a lot of hate between the teams and the fanbases (does Fürth have one ? Grin ) and thus I don't see Fürth making any efforts to take points from this game.

My bet: Karlsruhe @2.10

-

To the top of the table, where I also mentioned in the linked post from above, that I see Bielefeld helping Hamburg a bit.

Source: https://www.flashscore.com/standings/IBTYk9Sc/ltenUaUg/#table;overall

Bielefeld would surely be more happy with Heidenheim joining them in Bundesliga, because one relegation spot would be locked for next season then. But Heidenheim won't win playoffs against Werder anyway. And as mentioned by @Darkoth89 for Bundesliga, it's also about money for Bielefeld. If Hamburg doesn't promote, that would mean 2mln more TV money for Bielefeld, which is good amount for a smaller club. But, just as Heidenheim, Hamburg won't promote anyway having to play Bremen in the playoffs. So for Bielefeld it shouldn't matter who gets that 3rd place.

But as I pointed out, Bielefeld and Hamburg have a friendly relationship. This is a) about sportsmanship and b) about friendship. I think the odds are completely wrong for this one. This is all about Bielefeld and how they want this game to end. And I think they will take at least one point to help out their friends in Hamburg. A draw would mean, that Hamburg needs all 3 points at home against Sandhausen. A Bielefeld win would put Hamburg in a position, where a draw would be suffice to overtake Heidenheim.

And if Hamburg actually manages to promote alongside Bielefeld, I am sure that some money will be on the way from Hamburg to Bielefeld to compensate that lost profit Wink

My bet: Bielefeld +0.5 @ 1.70

@tyKiwanuka
If you are gonna be there this Sunday I would like to pay that extra 400 chips for you as a tip for your very good analysis of Werder game. You know what I am talking about.

Thanks a lot buddy Smiley It's really not necessary to give me any tip, I also posted a lot of wrong picks (you fortunately maybe missed those Grin ) and today I had Lady Luck on my side with that Werder pick. I already paid the extra fees for all 8 tournaments to efialtis, however if you insist on giving me the tip, "we" could maybe donate it to the lottery, if that is ok for you (?). I am happy that you made some money (all 7 bets won, chapeau Cool ) and it's already "tip" enough for me then Wink
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [AMA] The Life of a Professional Gambler on: June 27, 2020, 08:36:08 PM
Hmm, there are multiple ways to be successful and how to manage your bankroll. I don't have the golden way and I am certainly not going it; I am just going my way Wink But step by step:

There is this one poker buddy that I know of who told me that his way of gambling is that he treats gambling as a business.

Treating gambling as a business is a good approach - you are investing in valuable odds/spots and there are a lot of people out there who do this (insurances for example and they are very good at it, because they are filthy rich Smiley ).

He calculates his profits from a game then put some money back to his "bank" so to speak. If he lost on certain days, he will calculate again so that he will be sure that he can get his losses back once he wins on some games. And the cycle repeats until he can save enough to buy things he want or put money to their existing business.

Re-calculating your bankroll as often as possible or needed is recommended to not overstake. What you do with your profits is a very individual matter and depends a lot on your circumstances. If possible, I would try to compound, because the bigger your bankroll is, the bigger you can stake and the more money you will make. But if you need to pay bills, then it's not always possible to compound; you have to withdraw some money regularly. And you should reward yourself from time to time for all the work you put in, i.e. have some nice holiday, buy a new car or whatever makes you happy.
There are also people, who pay themselves a regular income every month, no matter how they have been doing that month. If they win 10k one month, their wage will be 2k and if they only win 1k, there wage will still be 2k, but I am not a fan of that. Just take out what you need for expenses and compound the rest.

I don't like the term "he can get his losses back". You should never chase losses - just accept them as part of the game and move on without thinking what happened yesterday (same goes for when you had a very good yesterday). You shouldn't think in days in regards to your profit, but in months or even years. If you had a losing day, just re-calculate your bankroll and start fresh the next day as if it is your first day of gambling. Not easy and I fail with it as well, but thats how it should be.

I want to ask if that is a doable strategy in living a gambling life as another source of living?

I see not reason why it shouldn't Wink I said before, that you don't have to be pitch-perfect in every sector, if you are gambling for a living, no one is. Some struggle with money management, others with discipline, then you have people with poor staking etc. Just try to give your best in every regard (and don't forget to improve every day !) and go your own way and not the way others want you to go or what is the "norm". You have to feel comfortable with what you do. And if you are more comfortable with some suboptimal staking it is better than feeling uncomfortable with optimal staking.

I checked out ACC-EX (thx for the link)
I agree with you saying all those fees are a lot and I did not like their answer in their FAQs
Q) Account-exchange is a new service – how can I trust you?
A) It is you that needs the accounts provided via our services. If you do not feel confident with us, please feel free to look for a similar service elsewhere.

They are around already pretty long. A risk remains of course, but one can try, with small stakes first (1000,- is not small stakes for some players of course), imo. You will never have 100% guarantee in this business and if the opportunity outweighs the risk, it's worth it imo. Their business is a bit strange, but they look legit to me and were always very responsive, when I talked to them.

Ireland/England is not for me as I love to be in the Sun Smiley
I need a sunny country

I feel you Grin But you just need any kind of residence there and can spend a good amount of your time in a more sunny location then, while grinding the markets Wink

Too bad Rashica isn't available, he is their most dangerous player for me.

Rashica is in starting XI, as is Gebre Selassie, who was questionable as well, very nice. Sargent, Pizarro and Selke on the bench, but I guess they will get some playing time too in second half depending on the happenings in Berlin. I would have liked Selke to start instead of Füllkrug though.

978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Betting & Discussion] Chinese Basketball Association - Rest of 2019/2020 Season on: June 27, 2020, 10:38:15 AM
Guangdong - Tianjin HC1 -29.5 @1.89 3/10
Zhejiang Guangsha - Beijing HC2 -7.5 @1.85 4/10

Guangdong ate Tianjin alive and were leading with 30 already at half-time, 132-79 FT then, +2.67.
Guangsha with some upset, everything pointed to Beijing having an easy win, but this is CBA afterall^^, 100-87 FT, -4.00.
-1.33 for the day.

Profit: +10.05
Yield: 31.41%
W-L: 6-3
Win rate: 66.67%
Average Stake: 3.56
Average Odds: 2.66

One bet for the late games:

Shenzhen - Shanxi ML Shenzhen @1.91 4/10
Odds already dropped quite a bit, but I will follow the money here. Shenzhen has more to play for than Shanxi and these teams have a bit of a weird H2H history.

Bets for June 28th:

Fujian - Guangdong HC2 -20.5 @1.93 6/10

Fujian has big game upcoming on Tuesday against Shenzhen, for which they might want to save some energy. They will lose this game 99% anyway, so not much resistance to be expected.

Beijing RF - Jilin HC1 -4.5 @1.87 6/10

Beijing RF the better team right now and they should look not only to win, but to win with 4+ to have the upper hand in the H2H. They lost 78-82 earlier this season to Jilin.

Seems https://orbitexch.com are geo-blocking too Smiley

Yes, could be, not for me though Wink But you have to go via an agent anyway to open an account and most of them accept all customers (some restrict US customers). If the WLE's would restrict the same countries as Betfair does, then it would make no sense to have them. Thats the whole point of these WLE imo and why they are allowed to use "powered by Betfair". Betfair is too regulated to accept these customers, but with this little trick, lots of players can come back through the back door and keep the markets liquid and guarantee volume. It's the same for Pinnacle, SBO etc. The legal risk is passed on to the agents and Betfair & Co can just say and prove, that they don't accept customers from certain countries.

You would have to use VPN then to access Orbit.

BTW did you notice the 'new' BF promo? Where you can choose to NOT get 'bonuses' in exchange to only 2% fee?

No, I am rarely following their news nowadays Tongue
980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: June 26, 2020, 10:06:08 PM
But the question is whether arbitrage is possible within the same bookmaker (which I doubt)? As I understand it, the odds are adjusted in such a way that the bookie is always earning something, no matter who actually wins. This, more or less, leaves no room for and essentially rules out internal arbitrage, or fork as you call it (read, they are not fools)

Of course this is possible even within the same bookmaker Smiley Pre-match it's a bit harder to achieve, because the markets move slow, but in-play you can do it all the time.

Look at these odds:

Source: https://www.betonline.ag/sportsbook/politics/electoral-college

In this post, you can read that "The Field" had 2.04 in the past:

It's also ~4% surebet with betonline.ag (2.16 Trump at Betfair, 2.04 "The Field" at betonline), if anyone is interested.

Now you put 53% of your stake on the 2.04 and 47% of your stake on the 2.30 and you have 8.11% surebet (trading/arbitrage profit). You can also get unlucky of course and the odds don't move in your favour - thats the risky part about trading/arbitrage Wink Bookmakers don't like it of course, but they kick out winning players anyway, no matter if you do arbitrage or not. Doing arbitrage at traditional bookmakers is a bit meh though, since you pay the house edge for every bet. Exchanges like Betfair are better suited, because you just pay a commission on your net profit.

Another example would be a football match; inplay. You bet on team A to win for odds of 2.00. The next second they score the lead. You can now play X2 for 3.00 et voila, you have a sure profit, no matter what is FT result. Bookmakers even urge you to take sure profit with offering a "cashout option" more and more (it's value/valuable for them, if you use it, thats why they offer it).
