HODL is one of the most common terms in the world of crypto. Why do you think it is overrated? HODLING has always helped me in most cases by helping me acquire tangible profits over the short term and long term. So many HODLERS of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, NEO etc have gone on to become millionaires which is why there is nothing overrated about this term. HODLING is not as easy it sounds though.

It is quite obvious that Bitcoin is a coin that single handedly rules the cryptocurrency market which is why it will always be popular and will continue rising in popularity over time which will help it rise in value over the long term which is why I always consider it a safe investment. Invest only what you are willing to lose though. Altcoins are also great investments, but are far more riskier investments when compared to Bitcoin which is a high risk high reward scenario.

There are so many potential winners out there, but no can accurately say for sure whether particular ICO will be successful or not in the future. You need to do your own research by checking various factors like campaign manager, development team experience, soft cap along with hard cap, number of participants etc which will help you choose legit campaigns and avoid the scams.

I think every altcoin, BTC or ICO has an advantage, only its value that different, and in my opinion, investment in altcoin has a greater result. but if its altcoin has good growth. besides that altcoin price is relatively very cheap.
here an investor should be able to choose a good investment place, you must go to market and analysis all aspects that could affect the value of bitcoin.
I do not agree with you. Every altcoin does not have an advantage since there are a big portion of them which have been primarily designed to rip off investors and scam them. Only the altcoins which are constantly being developed and which have huge communities will attract more and more investors which will help them survive no matter what. Coming to the question posted by op, investment in Bitcoin is far safer when compared to investing in altcoins.

Yes. I see this particular question asked around on a regular basis and my answer is always 'Yes' since I am a firm believer that Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market on the whole are here to stay and will not replace FIAT, but will serve as alternate payment methods in our daily lives. The shitcoins will disappear for sure, but the legit cryptocurrencies will survive no matter what although their values will fluctuate a lot.

At the moment, my top 5 favorite altcoins are divided based on short term and long term prospects:
Short-term: Cardano, DeepOnion, DENT, Monaco, EOS
Long-term: Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, Ripple, NEO
I have invested in all of these coins and am HODLING them at the moment. I have picked these particular coins only after careful research.

|

I partially agree with you op. Cardano, Stellar Lumens and NEO are coins that I already invested in and am HODLING in for the long term since I strongly believe that they will grow in value over time due to their developers and communities and my favorite among them is Stellar Lumens. I do not agree with your opinion on EOS and IOTA since I don't have much faith in them and I feel these coins will continue losing their value over time.

Who says HODLING is boring? You have got to be kidding with me op. HODLING is my preferred strategy in this extremely volatile cryptocurrency market which has always helped me earn steady profits in the short term as well as the long term. Selling at the right moment also matters a lot which many people tend to forget a lot. HODLING is a much stress free option when compared to day trading.

Don't invest all your funds into a single coin. Instead, I suggest diversifying your funds in the following manner:
- Ethereum = 30% - Litecoin = 20% - Cardano = 10% - NEO = 10% - Stellar = 10% - Ripple = 10% - DENT = 10%
These are some of my suggestions. Feel free to do your own research regarding these coins and decide whether you wish to invest or not. Majority of these coins are safe investments from a long term point of view.

The following factors need to be researched thoroughly in order to differentiate between a legit and scam ICO:
-Whitepaper -Development team -Social media interactions by the development team -Bonuses provided -Soft cap and Hard cap
Researching these factors has almost always helped me avoid scam ICOs completely which is why I always advise doing your research before investing into any particular ICO.

Cryptocurrencies are not magic, but when people adopt it and start to use it more then now you will see how much will price rise. Investing in bitcoin in 2010 was like investing in cars back in 1910. Look how Bill Gates made his fortune, many great things had big impact on people in last centuries, but when something is becoming a global thing worth is rising. Hodling will get you nowhere is stupid, so stupid that I cant explain. Take a look at anyone who bought in 2010, on how much that person bought, now take a look that person now and how much his investment worth now in this moment and tell me that hodling will get you nowhere.
I agree. The statement made by op is clearly one of the silliest statements that I have observed in recent times. HODLING has helped me earn steady profits from a long period of time which is why I always prefer it over short term trading although selling at the top is also equally important since this guarantees great profits. I usually tend to sell my coins and tokens at great prices and HODL when their values are low.

this was not a spam attack, don't flatter yourself this was simply a small increase in number of transactions which ethereum network failed to handle like it always does. it is starting to happen so often these days specially when there is some big ICO running or some of these silly smart contracts like the kitties are gaining momentum. ETH is not designed to handle large number of transactions. I agree partially. I still remember how messed up the network was due to the kitty game which was seriously irritating. Such stuff tends to happen now and then as you said, but I do not agree with the statement that ETH is not designed to handle large number of transactions. On the contrary, Bitcoin faced problems in this department while Ethereum performed in a better manner in this aspect. Ethereum network will continue improving with regards to these problems with time.

What do you say of the new ST20-token based call Polymath? Will it succeed? Will it follow Ether's steps or is it better? State you ideas and make a discussion. https://www.polymath.network/wizardEven if Polymath manage to offer something more to ICO owners than ETH, it will take more than 1-2 years to move even close to ETH market cap and adoption. So, no - not in 2018 or 2019. Exactly. This is something which people need to consider before coming up with such comparisons. At the moment, Ethereum is in a different league when compared to Polymath and should be compared to coins like Litecoin, Ripple, Stellar Lumens etc. Polymath still has a long way to go before competing with Ethereum in my opinion although I do feel that this particular coin has a lot of potential.

The whitepaper is a technical analysis of the project itself which not everyone can understand clearly. Experience in the cryptocurrency market helps in this case. I usually check the whitepaper initially before deciding whether or not to join a particular bounty campaign. No one can accurately say that a particular bounty is legit or scam based on the whitepaper itself, but it does help to analyse and check what the project is about. I usually clarify my doubts with the team through telegram.

This could be the bull run that everyone have been waiting for quite sometime after months of a persistent bear market. I am expecting Bitcoin and majority of the altcoins to continue pumping slowly and steadily and am expecting the market to explode in August. The first half of this year has been disappointing in so many ways, but I am expecting the second half of this year to be completely different. Am cautiously optimistic in this scenario.
|
|
|
At the moment, I suggest investing only in the popular coins like Ethereum, Ripple, Stellar Lumens, Litecoin, NEO etc since these are far safer investments when compared to investing into less popular coins or tokens due to the ongoing bear market. If you are still prepared to take a big risk, I suggest investing in Cardano, EOS, DeepOnion etc which seem to have great future potential in my opinion.

This is the first time I am hearing anything about Kakushin. Name itself seems odd. I have invested some funds into PundiX which is why I can give you some insight as to why this particular coin is worth investing into. Firstly, the development team behind PundiX are dedicated to this project which is a positive trait. The monthly airdrop is another bonus which helps in acquiring free money for HODLING PundiX. Do your research though op.

Ethereum is considered by many including me as the defacto queen of the cryptocurrency market and the king among the altcoins which will not change anytime soon in my opinion. The Ethereum community and developers are the primary reasons why I feel that this coin has tremendous potential and will continue rising in popularity over time. The move to POS will also most likely help it become a lot more popular.

No one can give you an accurate answer regarding this matter since this market is extremely volatile which is prone to the slightest of human emotion and an coin or token can rise or fall rapidly due to a particular reason which is why you need to do your research and decide what is best for you. I usually tend to invest after the pre-sale since that gives me an idea as to how the ICO might perform in the near future.

I agree. There has been an inflow of positive news recently(South Korea easing the restrictions on cryptocurrencies etc) which will most likely give a big push to the market on the whole sometime in August(My opinion), but time will tell whether I am right or wrong. This year has been particularly stressful due to the prolonged bear market which is why I am hoping that the 2nd half of this year will be different.
