Hmmm.. the thread is nice indeed but i think Facuet do not give enough to make Any good money
I hate when people talk shit about faucets. You dont know the purpose of faucets wich is to help NEW people to bitcoin understand how it works, to understand how something works its better to use it yourself and there is where faucets come into play, you get a small amount of bitcoins from them but enough to make some transactions after a while and see how bitcoin works, how deposits and withdrawals work, thats what faucets are made for. NOT TO MAKE YOU RICH. Am sorry if my words offended you. It's not about what htey are for , it's what people think them to be . Newbie members go behind Faucet to earn btc , they think they can really earn big amounts which is not possible. The one who makes himself rich is the faucet owner by having nothing but Google Adsence advt. , so please tell me again how they help newbie to understand BTC ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) You didnt understand my point. When you start using bitcoins or you want to use bitcoins, the only way to use them it was to buy them, unfortunately its not easy to buy small amounts of BTC to try them out so faucets were invented so people who didnt want to buy bitcoins worth 100$ could try bitcoins and see how it works That sounds good but that doesn't change the fact that it's good for the owner and just nothing for the user.

You mean to tell me i can sell/buy accounts here? That certainly isn't a good thing to do considering this forum is for giving and sharing knowledge about bitcoin ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

- snip - Could someone explain to me in simple terms what a 'signature campaign' is?
A signature campaign is: A way for an advertiser to create an incentive for greedy people to fill the forum with thousands of posts of completely useless nonsense. The advertiser offers a small payment in exchange for the user to add the advertiser's ad to the user's signature space. The user is required to create a particular number of posts on the forum so that the advertiser feels that the ad will get noticed. Since the average greedy unknowledgeable user doesn't have enough useful and well thought out things to say to meet the advertiser's quota, they end up just spamming threads all over the forum with useless drivel. Several of the regular forum users have taken to blocking (using the "ignore" link) all users with a signature ad campaign in their signature. Therefore, by participating in such a campaign, you significantly increase the likelihood that helpful and knowledgeable users will never see anything that you post here.
So to say it in simple language , i shouldn't join one ? I will surely listen to a Legendary member, you seem a assest to the community .

In blockchain directory, much more files will be created. Any other disadvantage? BTW I running Bitcoin core with 100 Mb cache on winXP 32bit with 1GB total system memory and it runs fine ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) - but I dont have other programs open when Bitcoin core is running because it would start swapping the memory to hdd For me, it need long time to synchronize with the network, bro. How about?. It takes me about half hour for every full day I have to synchronize, not much problem when I open the wallet daily.

PoW is doomed in the long run, but many bitcoiners are in denial.
PoW means fairest distribution. If the block rewards will become problem in future, Bitcoin can be modified if there is consenzus. I just dont like the idea of central authority to issue coins (first coins or later as well) so others can buy these, which is basically PoS.

I think your problem might be related to the limited amount of memory 32-bit Windows'es are able to access. If you were on XP 64, I'd tell you to stick with it and not downgrade your PC to 7Garbage or the 8th Abomination.
perhaps, but i already decrease the cache to 4Mb to avoid the "by the hell" comsumption of RAM of the start or the bitcoin core. cache 4Mb = 200Mb of RAM used. cache 100Mb = 1,2Gb of RAM used. In blockchain directory, much more files will be created. Any other disadvantage? So if there is any flaws or changes that are worth the change IT WILL change if there is really a far superior alt coin, by all means i will adopt it quickly. Why wait for bitcoin to change?
Yes, but the likelihood of a far superior alt coin appearing is zero. Every alt coin with some different feature from Bitcoin has some problems with that feature. Nothing can be said is clearly avantage over Bitcoin without adding new problems.

This is because PoS re-invest in the community and eco-system, PoW transfers value out of the community and eco-system, into the pockets of hardware vendor/electric company.
If I would ever buy PoS coin, I just invest to your pockets. You are blind if you dont see how Bitcoin eco-system is growing.

Price really doesnt matter. Just look at infrastructure, merchant support, userbase, media coverage. This mean huge Bitcoin success so far.
