961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Kill-A-Watt beeping for 9 GPU Rig on: January 23, 2018, 04:09:15 PM
You could have ten outlets all on the same 15A breaker.  The number of outlets does not matter.  You really need to take a look at your breaker box and hope they are labeled.  If not ... You can just shut one off and go start testing outlets.  The ones that don't work are all on that one circuit that you shut off.

Usually all of the outlets in one room are going to be on the same circuit.  You'll have exceptions for washer/dryer, range, ect.
962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Kill-A-Watt beeping for 9 GPU Rig on: January 23, 2018, 02:25:30 PM
Might also want to educate yourself on the max amp draw of the circuit you're running off of before you start tripping breakers.  If you're running off of a 15A circuit, you should only be using 80% max.
963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 23, 2018, 01:36:35 PM
Funny resellers were selling a rx 580 for $300 then more than usual interest --> $500 then too much interest --> $800, soon will be $1200 for a rx 580 and people paying that think they will be rich, they don't even calculate anything and whoever is saying gpu mining will not die in 2018 needs to check up their sanity cause people buying a rx 580 for $1200 is digging their own grave and those people will want to take all the stupid people with them hehe

whattomine last calculation eth roi is 450 days by the ongoing price of rx 580 at $800.

I wonder who will kill gpu mining first, people paying $1000 for a rx 580 or ASIC manufactures.

You really don't know what you're talking about, do you?  $1200 for a 580, $1000 for a 580 ... You're all over the place man.  Take your meds please!  I just did a quick scan of Amazon and I found a lot of 580's ... Not a single one was anywhere close to 1K.  I'm not saying they aren't over priced, but you exaggerate things to the extreme. Lol.

Nothing will stay one way forever.  Just as BTC can't go up and up and up and never come down, the same applies to gpu prices.  Regardless ... People can do whatever they want.  If they made uninformed decisions, they deserve to suffer the consequences.

P.S. ... ETH is way down on the list of coins I would mine with an AMD gpu.
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is your Mining Strategy / Mindset | Asset Allocation | Current and Future on: January 23, 2018, 03:23:24 AM
How do you value your mining equipment?  It pushes your btc and alt holdings up daily, if you're not converting to fiat, right?  My hardware hasn't paid for itself yet, but I'm not converting anything to fiat either.  I'm holding everything I mine for the time being.  There will be a point that I will convert to fiat to get my initial investment back into fiat, but now is not the time for that, in my opinion.  I did convert enough to fiat back in Dec to cover electricity costs for a few months.

Right now my mining equipment is a big part of my investment, because I just started buying hardware back in November of 2017.  However, for the past few weeks, I haven't spent any money on mining hardware, because the hardware out there being sold by the small timers is way too overpriced.  When hardware stock is replenished and prices are reasonable, I'll probably try and grab another 12-24 higher end gpu's.  Still watching what bitmain is doing.  I'd like to get my hands on some asic's, but I probably will wait on that until something replaces the S9.

965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are you serious on: January 23, 2018, 02:52:07 AM
Has everyone lost their mind?

Why would anyone pay $600-$800 for something that costs $180.00?? Are people that blinded by greed??  Huh Huh

Which GPU are you speaking of? Lol ... You must be looking at some lower end stuff, if you're talking a gpu with a msrp of 180. When I think of the Vega 56's that I bought in November, I think ... Why would anyone pay 1250-1500 for something that I paid 500 for.

Same goes for prices of 1070ti's and 1080ti's ... I would never pay what the small time sellers are asking for them on Amazon and eBay at the moment.  No fucking way.

The fact is that supply is very short and you have these small time sellers with gpu's in hand trying to take advantage of it.  I'm not denying that prices are up even with reputable dealers, but they aren't asking for double or triple.  When they have them in stock, they usually go for a reasonable price.  Higher than msrp, but still reasonable.  You just have to get them fast, because when they have them .... They're gone in under an hour or less.
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 22, 2018, 11:28:23 PM
Oh Look ... Someone let him out of the padded room again.  How many hours a day do they let you out?
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 22, 2018, 12:25:06 PM
No one really needs or values your warning or opinions, because you don't know how to properly convey them.  Hopefully people aren't out there paying insane prices for gpu's without really knowing that they're doing it, but of course it's happening to an extent.  However, we can do our own research and form our own opinions without the help of a fear mongering, halfwit like yourself.

So I went back and looked at Metroid's post because and he has a history of spreading FUD. Not sure how this thread is 5 pages long already but ppl need to know this guy is a nut job. Below are some classic example of this guys retarded trolling. Hope others can see it for what it is. Enjoy the read I picked some of the best posts for your viewing pleasure:

Sept. 20, 2017:
Only stupid people would exchange eth for gpus to mine eth right now, eth forks are coming and there are too many good news about the fork, I'm seeing at least 300% rise in few weeks, eth might even reach 0.5 btc and that is being conservative.

You need to understand that when eth rises it rises many times in few hours. ETH might reach 0.5 btc tomorrow.

And if you spend on a mining rig then will take at least 1 year and 6 months for you to get the same eth amount you have right now.

Nov 4, 2017: Recommending eth only whereas in reality btc hit ATH in Dec. as did many other coins
buy $30000 btc $20000 ETH and enjoy your sleep.

mining only really makes money when speculation makes a lot more.

I would do what this guy is saying, and buy only eth cause it is very undervalued right now.

After byzantine fork: saying miners lost 15% we actually didnt. It was the same and I have numbers to prove it. Again spreading FUD without actual testing.
The reward dropped from 5 to 3 and the difficulty dropped from 3 to 2.1, so you miners lost 40% on the reward and gained 25% on the difficulty, block times from 30 to 15 seconds is related to the difficulty. Many trolls said with this update, you would be earning more money, which is not true as it stands. So meaning, you stupid miners are earning 15% less money with this update, correct me if I'm wrong or missed something.

Oct 2017:Replying to say if Eth mining is profitable. Anyone can see that it still is profitable to this very day.
no.

Oct 9, 2017: Saying that ltc will soon be like ghost. Till this day L3+ and S9 are the most profitable Asics out there.
That is the problem when you dont have control over the market, at least on the btc scene is good, on xghost no and on ltc soon will be the same as xghost.

Oct 2017: Apparently a 4k mining investment will take 2 years (if experienced) while otherwise will take 3 years or so  Roll Eyes
If you invest right now, you will get those $4k back in 2 years or so if you are an experienced miner, if not then expect 3 years or so.

A few months later Zec hit ATH but this guy was saying 0.5btc any day. Yeah metroid no thank you.
My opinion is change all your zcash or any other coin you have to eth very fast cause eth is about to break and hit 0.5 btc in few days. It might go higher than that. Thank me later and don't forget to thank me.

Sept 2017: Mining since has become so profitable that the cards have become scarce but had we listened to this troll we would have lost out of on so much.  Roll Eyes
You trolls have to be very careful saying profitability will be higher than now cause noobs see that as reassurance of their stupidity that might come to fruition hehe

Hope you all can see this persons fixation with mining and discouraging everyone from it. Metroid if you cant mine for whatever reason stop pissing in everyone else cereal ffs.

Yeah I did the same thing when I first started seeing his crazy chatter.  When people start talking total non-sense over and over with a broad outlook, you look deeper for the real answer.  Thank you for putting them all in one place for everyone to see.  He's a moron to say the least.  He's probably more like mentally retarded without the offical diagnosis.  All of that said, he could have an agenda, which doesn't make him an idiot.  But the fact that he thinks he can move markets alone, puts him back into the mental retardation space.

I honestly think he has lost a lot of money and spreads his anti-cheer based on the fact that his therapist isn't giving him good enough medication.  He probably needs to be in a padded room with a straight jacket on.
968  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is mining so hard? on: January 22, 2018, 01:50:37 AM
Why do I need to download a program and write a command line with a dozen arguments that are poorly documented just to kick off a mining script?!  Hasn't anyone figured out a way to make this easier for the average Joe?

The only thing hard here is my dick when your mother sends me nudes.
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 22, 2018, 01:47:14 AM
Keep buying gpus for 300% more than msrp and dont worry cause that is how you enrich the resellers and watch as resellers enrich 300% for doing nothing and in the end you will watch the resellers laughing at your face hehe, the only one here in danger its you who is buying cause the resellers will get their money fast and easy and you will be in debt if gpu mining dies in 2018, you have been warned.

bought several rx 570's and 580's today for $259.

hehe.

ur really my favorite poster around here Metroid. hehe.  when the crypto market crashes and my $35,000 worth of hardware is worth $200 we are going to jump off the bridge together hehe.

i want you to be there with me buddy.  hehe.  Wink

He's probably just pissed off that he bought in way too high (thinking that he knows something about trading, when he really doesn't know dick) and now he's sweating the current market prices.  Sell it all, Metroid.  Sell it all ... Lol.

If you're using the one they call the Nvidia miner, it's in hardware details ... I believe the AMD specific one is in settings or options or whatever.  I've never used it on any of my AMD rigs.
972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 22, 2018, 12:19:23 AM
Are not you the guy that  started the gpu bubble burst thread?

This is the first thread I created in this forum since 2013, not even in 2014 I was so skeptical like I'm now about mining, this is becoming stupid anyway you look and the way things are, it will become worse and all this points to "GPU mining will die in 2018!".

Worse than what?  It's not bad right now ... Lol.  But continue to spew your garbage.  I know how to tune out the uninformed.

974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Did GPU prices just double in the last few weeks on: January 21, 2018, 06:30:12 PM
I bought some 1070ti's for $500 each a few weeks ago.  They are pretty much out of stock everywhere at the moment, but the price has gone up to $550-580ish on the websites I buy from.

You're seeing small time sellers who just realize they are out of stock everywhere and they are trying to screw people over.  No way would I would buy a 1070ti for 1K unless the profitibility was double what it is.

I bought Vega 56's at the end of November ... Out of stock everywhere, but there are some small time sellers on Amazon trying to get $1250-$1500 out of them. Lol ... When I get bored, I troll them for fun.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Im realy frustrated and i need your help on: January 21, 2018, 06:26:36 PM
Check the event log.  What kind of errors do you have when the rig is crashing?  What is your power draw?  What is your swap file size?  Upgrade to 8GB ram.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rig write off & self employment on: January 21, 2018, 06:24:09 PM
I would think you could do it either way, but I would consult with a CPA.
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: best equipment for mining cryptocurrencies with 5k start up on: January 21, 2018, 04:56:40 PM
Nope only one,

but at least a Reventon!

Cheers,
Andy

You must be mining the wrong coin.  Your Lambo count is lower than mine ... Lol.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: best equipment for mining cryptocurrencies with 5k start up on: January 21, 2018, 04:41:32 PM
how much should I expect for monthly profit with that particular rig?

3 Lambos per month exactly.
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU tweaking guide? on: January 21, 2018, 03:09:38 AM
If you're doing small increments, nothing is going up in smoke.  You'll see artifacts on the screen or it will just freeze up when you've gone too far.   When you get to that point. Dial back little by little until you hit the sweet spot.
980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EVGA 1080 issue on: January 21, 2018, 03:06:43 AM
What are you mining?  I have my pagefile set at 60GB min and max.  That's 6x 8GB = 48GB plus 10GB for the OS = 58GB rounded up to a nice 60GB.  No issues, but I have a 1070 rig.

8GB RAM?
