I'm betting pretty heavily on Monero (XMR) ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) It provides a superior anonymity solution to DRK or other cryptos as it doesnt even have a blockchain to search. With the code being written from scratch and a strong dev team it's expected to compete with Litecoin and Darkcoin in the coming year (We've already been seeing massive selloffs in DRK and LTC recently, while Monero XMR has been holding strong) More info here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0

so..... 450 buy on Huobi and absolutely no one followed. it's like all the bulls up and disappeared. i think we are gonna slowly slide down here and break 500. hopefully not too far below...
I can't take Huobi seriously anymore after seeing countless fake breakouts (on huge volume) that end up turning sour. With no trading fees things are easy to manipulate over there... I only make trades now when all the major exchanges move together as it's usually when we see volume (and volatility) start to pick up

I have a feeling we're going to see a surge of gold bugs get into crypto when they see us starting getting closer to $1000 again If you listen near the end of this talk Rubino starts talking about BTC as being complementary to gold as a wealth transfer system. (Keep in mind these are gold bugs who admittedly are still suspicious of Bitcoin yet are still willing to support it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6-4uSJYneMThere's alot more money waiting on the sidelines than we think ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

wow, you need a graph and a line to realize that there is some support at 500 and that if it holds we will have a little bounce?
I hit my prediction of a bounce off $500 right on the button, if you check my last posts I predicted that last test of 480 right on the button too. Maybe you should start subscribing to my last posts for trading tips ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

market should hold here for a while clearly its a sticky price.
place your bets!
Indeed! the stability here is a great sign I still think a retest of $500 is entirely possible this weekend though... but coinbase should have a fresh wad of fiat ready to go and taking orders again, tomorrow. and this is the settled price for the whale eat whale move we just had, moving away in any direction seems unlikely, we maybe stuck here so long as vol keeps coming. I believe TA always rules over any "news" or "fundamentals", hence why I think it should at least touch this support line Behold my famous mspaint chart: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FV84uLQU.png&t=663&c=ManBs2MWVTs3LA) LOL this was right on! 24 HR. low is $500.01 ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

This is what I suspected as well! Whales could potentially push the price down to margin levels while buying large amounts off exchange Coindesk reported on the effects of margin but I find it suspicious that Bitfinex put out a release stating that margins apparently didn't cause the drop (which is obviously what happened) ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I'm not too concerned though...take this as an opportunity to buy ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

From reading what has been posted I know that mining is not very profitable at the moment but I am not overly bothered by profitability rather just an easy way for me to get bitcoins and learn about bitcoins as well. I need bitcoins for transactions online and have been mostly buying them online as well. This is the mine I am looking to buy http://www.kijiji.ca/v-servers/edmonton/bitmain-antminer-s2/1012832645?EDIT: "Free" electricity. I would definitely look into buying some coins (especially at these prices) as well getting a hobby rig running. Buying bitcoin has always been more profitable than mining, especially when the price has bottomed out. You should find that if the price jumps significantly then the difficulty will follow along with it and you're left with a piddly hashrate in comparison to what you had. Personally, I would just go for the coins if you're looking to experiment, maybe buy a small miner or two to experiment.

Those bids are mostly fake; shared bids from Bitstamp.
How can that be? the asks don't seem to be shared... Looking at the number of asks on Stamp it seems impossible for them to be shared with BFX Bitstamp: 4300 BTC to 580 Bitfinex: 3500 BTC to 580 Asks are not being shared right now, only bids. WTF ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) lol here's your manipulation boys (if true)

lets see a nice short liquidation cascade!
Can anyone make an educated guess at what point the shorts could get liquidated? I'd think it would be alot higher than this, but I have no idea how to properly calculate It's all stop losses, it would require a lot more upside to actually trigger the majority of shorts to get margin called. educated guess = 640+ The amount of coins up for bid to yesterdays low ($480) could get us pretty close! ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FPPbCZEH.png&t=663&c=MzcUUJ9AndbnAQ)
