I can't access the menu, so changing options is out.  Sad
962  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2012-05-15 forbes.com - Another Bitcoin Theft at Bitconia on: May 16, 2012, 06:33:54 AM
There are a lot of comments on this article that attempt to straighten this guy out; that might be hard to do with someone so ignorant.  What a ridiculous fool this Tim Worstall fellow is.
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 0.6.2 and Ubuntu 12.04 not playing nice on: May 15, 2012, 06:19:27 PM
Just upgraded the client to 0.6.2 and the icon is no longer in the system tray (notification area?) when bitcoin is running.  It is also absent from the menu bar.  Hmmmm.  I guess I could choose to never minimize it but that doesn't seem practical.

Anyone?

Did you find a solution or pick a provider yet?

On top of that, I hate how in the US, healthcare privacy is a joke.  Anything you do has to get reported somewhere.  Yeah, sure there is HIPAA, nobody is allowed to divulge anything without your consent, and health care providers take that very seriously.  But there's dozens of things you can't get without giving up consent to break that privacy shield.  Go get life insurance or medical insurance without signing a blanket statement authorizing anybody to divulge anything and everything you've ever gone to a doctor for.  In some professions you can lose your job (imagine being an airline pilot and losing your job because they found out you went to a therapist or take xyz anti-depressant or whatever, given the recent mental breakdowns of flight crew in the news - example).  Enough said - Bitcoin is a perfect way to pay for healthcare-related stuff, and given how people's personal health information is systematically used and abused in the US, everyone has a stake in keeping their business private.

+1.  Some health care providers in the USA demand 10 years free of counseling, anti-anxiety medication, and anti-depressant medication before they will write a health policy for you.  Pay for your meds with bitcoin and you are worry-free.

967  Economy / Auctions / very unusual collectible gemstone Tanzanian Sunstone 3.25cts square on: May 13, 2012, 08:54:08 AM
This is a very interesting and unusual gemstone that will delight a collector.  Hailing from Tanzania, it is very unusual for its inclusions of hematite that are iridescent.  This gives it an "oil on water" effect that shows every color of the rainbow.  This 3.25 carat stone is an excellent example of the variety.

It measures 9.61 x 9.53 x 4.59mm deep.  Because it is not an especially dense stone, you get a lot of size for a given carat weight.  This makes a large stone a good value.

This stone would make a great conversation piece on its own or set in a pendant.

This auction starts at 3BTC and the bid increment is 1BTC.  72 hours only!

975  Economy / Auctions / Rhodolite garnet from Tanzania 2.40 carats excellent color on: May 13, 2012, 08:12:13 AM
This is a wonderful rhodolite garnet from the Umba River Valley in Tanzania.  It is a substantial size at 2.40 carats and the emerald shape is well-cut for very good brilliance.  The hue is very slightly orange-Red and this stone measures 9.04 x 5.78 x 4.62mm deep.

The clarity on this stone is VS, or very slightly included.  Please understand that we grade accurately according to GIA standards.  This means that compared with any VS stone you buy on eBay, ours will be much, much cleaner.  When we tell you that a stone is VS it really is.  Many eBay gemstone merchants use VVS or flawless for virtually every gemstone that they sell.  Be very wary of such dealers!  Gemstones that come from the earth tend to have some inclusions.

Our business is trust-based.  If you can not trust us, you will not continue to do business with us.  If we sell you one stone and you are not happy, we can not be happy either- we just lost a customer.  In order for us to succeed, we need to make you a regular customer.  We need for you to come back again and again and again.  That is always our goal- when we select stones, when we describe and photograph them, and when we pack and ship them.  We never forget that we are building a relationship.

This garnet is a 3 day or 72 hour auction.  The starting bid is 5BTC and the bid increment is 1BTC.  Shipping is NOT extra- it is included in your bid.  We always ship stones registered air mail with tracking, and we are very prompt to ship.

Please let us serve you for your collectible gemstone or jewelry needs!  If you are looking for a special stone that I have not listed, or that is not on my Bitmit auctions, just get in touch.

Big warm welcome to theswisspharmacy.com!  For anyone visiting this thread, I will vouch for them.  I have ordered from them in the past and know for certain that they have excellent customer service and high quality products.  They run a tight ship.  I came to them after having trouble with another internet pharmacy and I have been very happy with my choice.

Please help them in any way you can- especially allow them to earn your business by buying your medications from them with bitcoins!

I think what they need is a company that does an "original credit transaction" as described here:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jonmatonis/2012/05/07/bitcoin-funded-debit-cards/

Also it might work to sign up at CryptoXchange and sell your bitcoins there, then have them wire the money to your bank.  I think they have pretty low fees for that type of transaction.
