It really is nothing but pure manipulation..  his charts and analysis doesn't mean shit.

I would laugh if someone were big enough to join his group and continually sink him.

Then we could see how much of a "prophet" (profit? forgive the pun lol) he still is..

963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RyanPumper is a scammer. on: January 05, 2015, 01:24:28 AM

So you think its bobsurplus?

Could very well be..

I've made money from some of his pumps (i'm not in any of his groups though)
so I guess he serves some type of purpose.. I just don't like the scamming.

Wrong time to sell out..

Goodbye !!

965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ryan Pumper: Pumpers Picks (Updated Daily) on: January 05, 2015, 01:17:13 AM
This is where his cronies or alt accounts will chime in, insult all who see what is going on and praise how "great" ryanbutthumper is.

I wish this scamming troll would just fade away,  the less there is of piece of shits like him will only help the altcoin community in general.

I also wish he would remove the quote he has by me, there is no record of me saying that and I do NOT endorse his bullshit!

Ha I am actually a bit excited to get back into my coding mindset Tongue  Hopefully I will release a new version of HYP wallet in the next week or two with all of the recent changes.

Way to go!  Looking forward to seeing the new version of wallet and things progressing!

967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Most Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 6 Themes on: January 02, 2015, 11:02:00 PM
I like Hyperstake too but I think of it more as an experiment as the PoS is very, very high.

Not really.  Do you actually stake Hyperstake?
If so, you'll know what I mean because staking is slowing way down.

So, its not super high in reality.

Plus, not trying to say anything bad but -
Going through the searching & post history of hyper (not hyperstake).. sounds like there was a lot of premining that went on and fights with developers.
Also a fiasco with tokyoghetto.  Not sure its really a coin I would want to get into.

Be diligent, do research first.

968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Most Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 6 Themes on: January 02, 2015, 03:43:55 PM
Just placing this here,  as it may be helpful in some way or something..

I agree. this is one problem with high interest PoS coins. demurrage would change the dynamics of the coin and make it more suitable for trading. If the supply is constantly change both ways (increasing/decreasing) then that will allow the value to change as well. If a currency only inflates, then historically the value can only go down.

Imagine if HYP had demurrage, it might have a chance to increase in value, instead of just being hammered lower in price. It will still take market timing and skill to make a profit, but demurrage might make for some interesting price moves.

The whole idea of PoS (end especially high PoS) is based on long term holding. Such stimulation of turnover can undermine security (notice how the diff has dropped after a big New Year dump) and may lead to massive selloffs. Economic theory states that increased money velocity works like supply expansion. As to the inflation, there are very powerful economic movements, like Keynesian economics, that argue the Quantity theory of money, i.e. the dependance of prices on money supply.

I agree, I think stimulation of turnover would not be a good thing.
Thanks for the further insight!

The sweet spot looks like 10-20% stakes pay...

Are you talking 10-20% yearly?

With current difficulty, I don't see this coin producing 750% per year (per individual)..  for smaller investors
seems more like 100 - 200% (based on amount you're individually holding, of course)
- why do I say this?  Only so many days in a year and stakes are becoming few and far between.

971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's CrazySteak(TM) High PoS Investment Journal on: December 31, 2014, 04:07:13 PM
LTCGEAR

While waiting on the sidelines, I discovered ltcgear.com. Cloud mining gets a bad rap, but the person behind this site made one of the first if not the first scrypt ASICs over 14 months ago. People were able to physically order and receive the device and use it.

I have to say, the difference between something like LTCGear and the usual altcoin trash is night and day. For example, I saw during the Black Friday weekend $120k in group buys go down on some of the shares. No mess, no fuss. Such volume puts in in the top 5 or crypto coins on CMC if it was a coin. And this was from the shrimp! The real whales were eating new shares in gulps of 30+ BTC a go!

Really, a lot of what this illuminated to me is that there is a real gulf between BTC and LTC and all the other coins. I mean the number of money flowing around LTCGear is insane, so that makes a pretty strong moat for the LTC network.

Now, I'm going to go ahead and drop my affiliate link here. Probably won't do me any good and people will bitch, but that's fine. I used an affiliate link for the person who told me about LTCGear since it really operates like how I had hoped high PoS would. Mining payout right to my wallet every Friday. No FUD, no fuss.

There are two options right now. The old Scrypt only rigs and the newer multi-algo ones. Links are below. The first group will benefit from the Dec. 24th multiplication (unlike other cloud services, LTCGear helps owners keep up with difficulty by raising the "power" of shares every 6 weeks).

So how is ltcgear working out for Crazyloaf?

Sounds like it might be a scam..

Edit:  Well it looks like the site is still there and they supposedly upgraded their server..
Maybe ltcgear is ok yet ??

972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternate cryptocurrencies category should disappear from bitcointalk! on: December 31, 2014, 01:07:43 AM
The whole bitcoin cryptocurrencies category is absolutely useless. This only manages to hurt this whole forum and altcoins at some image level.
A lot of damage has been done already with the help of this category by advertising scamming bitcoin projects and taking advantage of free "marketing" offered by this forum.

There I fixed it.
If people want something, let them have it.   It's what bitcoin originally stood for!

If he had 10 000 addresses, that's 460 000 46 000 CLAM

No, it's 4.6 per address. You have one too many 0's.

Yes 10 000 non dust addresses will give you "only" a bit less than 46 000 CLAM.

Dooglus can you go public on how much CLAM you have, what portion of your commission you sell for BTC and if you are invested in the just-dice CLAM bankroll?
Maybe it's better if you answer in the just-dice thread.
What is a non dust adress? only more than 1 satoshi or ?

I think it was anything above .0001 or something around there..
Maybe doog can provide a more specific answer.

Well an update in my situation..  my previous last stake was on the 24th.

And this morning I got a stake.

So I guess I don't / shouldn't reset, move coins.

975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Snowballs | 1000% Stake | Win FREE BALLS with the in-Qt Trivia Game! | on: December 30, 2014, 12:09:04 AM
So if I started staking on the 15th of December and mature coins staked up to the 25th and then stopped, would it be expected to continue again on Jan 15.  Or would it be more like Jan 25?  Thanks. Also noticed on block chain explorer hash rate and charts drop off on 25. Little scary.

I'm in a similar situation..

I have no idea.. if they don't stake soon like in a month.. I'll probably sell out of this.

EDIT 2:  DOES THAT MEAN SATOSHI HAS A SHITLOAD OF CLAMS TOO?  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
(or at least he/she/they can claim them?)

Depends if there is a bunch of addresses in their wallet.

Remember only 4.6 clam per address above dust.. not per amount of bitcoins.

Satoshi clearly stated that he/she/they used one address for each block found  Wink

Then again, I doubt he/she/they would be importing ANY private keys in the CLAM client  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

If he had 10 000 addresses, that's 460 000 CLAM

How long do we need before it's 99% certain the Satoshi's bitcoins will never be used?

I don't know,   Satoshi.. if you're reading this..  just do it soon so maybe the market can adjust.

Thanks.

Thanks, I'll try to check my clock too!

Edit:

Should clock be ok now?

Yes, but it's best to leave ntpd running all the time. Then your clock will stay right.

I'm not sure what units ntpq is using, but if it was saying your clock was off by 46 seconds then that could well explain the high orphan rate you were seeing. A hardfork about a month ago really tightened things up re. clock errors.

They're supposedly milliseconds.  So yeah, I guess about 46 seconds off.

I'll leave ntpd running, thanks!

979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How in the FUCK are you supposed to know what's legit? on: December 29, 2014, 06:52:34 PM
Seriously...between each community fluffing their own coin and the haters on the "neutral" boards shitting on every coin that's just past it's prime, how are you supposed to know what coin is the most prudent investment?

I understand that "research" is worthwhile, but there's only so much you can learn from a coin's website.

Let's get this straight, you are upset that the way to make an extreme amount of money isn't somehow labelled on the product so you can easily identify, buy and therefore become massively wealthy?

I'm going to go ahead and assume you are under 18.

I don't think he's upset about it,  its just that the market can no longer sustain this.
People are just trying to figure out which coins are actually trustworthy & have genuine value.

Hi guys,

New to alt-coins here.

May I ask a few things?

How can one mine for CLAMS?

You supposedly can Stake / mint new coins from the client.

But recently, I have been getting "generated but not accepted" ..
due to I think too much competition / difficulty to stake.

So if you have a small amount,  you might not be able to stake.

I currently have no amount   Sad

I guess it will be extremely hard for me to stake then  Sad

You could always just buy some on Poloniex exchange,  or sit in just-dice.com chat room and catch some rain.

I should also re-phrase..  you could stake with a small amount but may take a long time & if it actually is accepted.

Great!

One last question:
How is the free CLAM/BTC distribution done?

What I mean is, what amount of BTC in the wallet, amounts to how many CLAMs?
E.g: If I have 1BTC, how many free CLAMs do I get?

Many thanks  Cheesy

Here.. maybe this info will help you more:

Quote
On the 12th of May 2014 a snapshot was taken of the BTC, LTC, and DOGE blockchains. All addresses bearing a non-dust amount at that point in time were given 4.60545574 CLAMs for free. This was the initial distribution of CLAMs, and it how all the CLAMs were created. The intent was to make the distribution as fair as possible, since everyone involved in any of those three coins automatically got free CLAMs.

The specific blocks at which the snapshots were taken:

   BTC block 300377 (2014-05-12 12:48:17)
   LTC block 565693 (2014-05-12 13:06:31)
  DOGE block 218556 (2014-05-12 13:09:17)
In order to access your free CLAMs, you need to be able to sign a transaction using the private key for the BTC, LTC, or DOGE address that owns the CLAMs. Chances are, if you were using one of these coins back in May, you have a wallet.dat file containing tens or maybe even hundreds of addresses (including hidden 'change' addresses which you may not even be aware of), all of which possibly have free CLAMs associated with them.

The easiest way to collect those CLAMs is to make sure the wallet is now empty by moving any balance into a new wallet, and then import the wallet.dat file into the official CLAM client. It will scan the old wallet.dat file and dig up all the CLAMs.

Alternatively, you can use the /dig command in the chat tab of this site:

Type/digfor a brief guide.

Type/dig ADDRESSto check whether there are any free CLAMs available at the given address, and whether they have already been claimed or not.

Type/dig ADDRESS PRIVKEYto claim the CLAMs at the given address and have them sent to your deposit address at Just-Dice. PRIVKEY is the associated private key in WIF or hex format.

Keys in WIF format are 51 or 52 characters long, and start with a 5, K, or L for BTC, a 6 or T for LTC and a 6 or Q for DOGE; keys in hex format are 64 characters in the range 0-9 and A-F.

Any private keys you provide will be used once each to sign a transaction and broadcast it to the CLAM network, then it will be discarded. Private keys are not logged by Just-Dice, but you do need to trust us on that! It is really best to only provide private keys that are empty, and which you do not intend to use again.

So for non-dust addresses:
All addresses bearing a non-dust amount at that point in time were given 4.60545574 CLAMs for free.
