961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you spend crypto? If yes, for what? on: May 09, 2022, 10:09:32 AM
Here's a question to the audience. Do you actually buy stuff with crypto, like services or goods? If yes, what kind?

I've recently got a Binance card to play around with and use it to pay for everyday expenses. Works pretty well.

I tried spending crypto to buy mobile load and data combined a few times before. But those were just small amounts from $5 to $10 worth of crypto in average per month. That's just it. But I do have plans to try spending my crypto in booking flights and hotels via Travala.

And speaking of the Binance card, I wanna avail it but I think there are certain qualifications needed for me to be eligible to avail that as a Binance user.
962  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Signal to Start Trading and the Signal to Close Trading on: May 08, 2022, 11:18:17 AM
No matter how skilled you are in doing technical analysis, reading candlesticks, etc., you don’t own or control the market. Predictions are predictions, but there are no guarantees or promises that they are going to be accurate. Even if you follow certain guys who are more on trading signals, there are no assurances that their predictions are correct whether to long or short the trade.

What I am saying is that only invest and trade an amount that you can afford to lose and do not go all-in!
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Women's participation into cryptospace - Increased? on: May 08, 2022, 11:12:52 AM
Although that this industry was dominated by men, the number of women who got involved in this space keeps increasing and it won’t stop or slow down anytime soon. We now see more women founding their own crypto companies, organization, products, etc., in this space and it’s a huge development and a step in the right direction to prove that women are capable to lead.

And to all the beautiful moms out there in the crypto space, Happy Mother’s Day to you all!
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any Bounty who is giving Big Reward. on: May 08, 2022, 09:31:29 AM
Let me give you a dose of reality. When I started my crypto career somewhere late of 2017, I am relying more on airdrops and bounty campaigns. Yes I have indeed made a lot of money which I have paid my debts, giving back to my family, traveling around the world, etc. But the bad long term mistake that I have is that I am relying too much and being complacent on airdrops and bounty campaigns, and also mismanaged my funds.

I had a great couple of years of just being an airdrop and bounty hunter until the pandemic struck and I went downhill, almost broke again. But I went back up again by having a stable long term job despite that it's not that big. Until now, I still have this job and I choose not to let it go despite that I have earned more in my Youtube sponsorships, AMAs, play to earn, bounties, NFTs, etc.

Even if there are high paying bounties out there, it is not good to just relying on them. I hate to say this but go get a stable job at least to sustain yourself even if these bounties are either paying you too late or even not.
965  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Some Errors We Make In Trading Crypto on: May 07, 2022, 12:44:31 PM
Quote
Purchasing a coin mainly because it's price is low- many people avoid buying coins like bitcoin, Ethereum, bnb because they feel the price is already too high, so they opt for Shiba inu kind of coins which give them billions of coin for a dollar, only for the developers to abandon the project after few months, and they end up loosing their money- don't do this, it's a very bad habit, and the result of making this kind of mistake can be very expensive most times.

I can relate to this one as I’m in a habit of doing that and feel that I am already too late. I did bought ETH last early 2020 when it was still around $180 to $200 until it grew more than 15x. But of course, I bid goodbye to my ETH because my wallet was hacked due to the malware that I accidentally clicked. Now I am trying to build myself back up again to raise amounts of money that was lost during the hack.

However, we can’t just say that the rest of the altcoins in the market are useless. If you look at GALA, I have seen a post that a seaman bought GALA tokens around $300 worth during it’s early stages. But as he returned several months from the ship, his GALA tokens grew multiple fold.

DCA (dollar cost averaging) is one of my plans these days when I can finally afford to put an amount of funds every month in BTC regardless of the price.

Alam ko it will take time to build your reputation dito sa forum, kaya take it one day at a time. Meron nga mga members na late na nag register, pero bakit ang dami nilang merit at bilis mag rank up na kahit hindi nila ine-expect. Try to see anu ang mga ginagawa nila at pwede ka magka-idea dyan basta follow the rules lang sa forum.

Ako nga it took me a very long while na mangin Hero Member, pero hindi ako nag complain o focus sa rank. Dahil lang sa pagiging passionate ko na mag contribute dito, na paid off rin in the end at matanggap rin sa mga bounty campaigns.

Kaya walang shortcuts dito para mangin successful, kailangan mo talaga i “earn” yan. Trust me, worth ang journey kahit matagalan pa.
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SOL The Chain Goes down Again ! ETH 2.0 and upgrade is the only solution ? on: May 07, 2022, 12:23:08 PM
Ummm just to inform you that ETH 2.0 is already off the table, and it was already replaced by consensus layer. But either way, it’s still considered an upgrade. As for SOL, congestion is the real problem here as well as the scalability. This is why when I want to buy SOL and withdraw it from Binance, it’s not always available due to the congestion.

Yes the transaction fees are super cheap in terms of sending funds or minting NFTs, but again their chain has scalability issues and inconsistent to stabilize where some are having issues in NFT minting or withdrawing from a CEX like Binance.
968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term Holders - When Do You Plan To Cash Out? on: May 07, 2022, 12:15:57 PM
I regretted not buying and holding BTC while it was still very cheap years ago, especially the time when I panic sell my BTC for USDT, but eventually that’s where the boom comes in days later and up to $60k during the time Elon Musk bought a lot of BTC and being bullish about it.

If I were to hold a large amount of BTC, I think it really depends on the situation like if there are big emergency cases. However for normal times like this, I wouldn’t sell even if it’s on an up or down trend and can be used as a collateral when I want to acquire something in real life that needs proof that I am more capable of affording that stuff. That’s just me of course.
969  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy Trading - experience and tipps on: May 06, 2022, 08:52:18 AM
Usually copy trading would be a hands off experience for the newbies and beginners to start making money in cryptocurrency trading in a legit way. However, the result would depend on a lot of factors such as the movement of the market and the decision of the trader you copied whether he short or long it. There are no promises or guarantees in the results in copy trading, but if you are a newbie or beginner who doesn't know how to read charts and wanted to have some results, you can go with copy trading but only put an amount that you can afford to lose.
970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better: Ethereum or the Binance Smart Chain? on: May 06, 2022, 08:49:08 AM
If we're talking about being fully decentralized, it's Ethereum no question about it. But however, most of us are just focusing on its gas fee issues. Binance Smart Chain, however, it does offer us cheap gas fee for sending transactions to other wallets, but it's not fully decentralized. But most of the projects these days are focused on Binance Smart Chain because of saving gas fees in distributing tokens, minting NFTs, etc.
971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? (satoshi saved it in cd rom! allegedly) on: May 06, 2022, 08:45:04 AM
On top of storing most of my private keys, seed and mnemonic phrases, etc., on my sacred notebook, I also have aluminum steel where I can just engrave these seed phrases to be protected even if it gets exposed in fire and water. But of course, it's better not to include all phrases there, so you must have a separate source where you can keep the final phrase somewhere secure and hard to find in any way.
972  Economy / Economics / Re: Looks like markets are crashing ! this is it ...it's the big one ! on: May 05, 2022, 06:03:25 PM
I wouldn't worry if I were you. Market crashes like this are normal and it'll eventually bounce back stronger later on despite that there are no promises or guarantees about it. For me, it's important that we should always learn how to manage our risks very well. I can see it as a good opportunity to buy since I am actually waiting for the moment on where BTC will be going down even further.
973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STEPN on: May 05, 2022, 05:25:06 PM
I just regretted that I didn't get in early and now the floor price is much more expensive than I thought. It's something that I cannot afford anymore. If only I wasn't hacked last time, I could have afford to buy at least one sneaker regardless of the price movement of the market right now.

I did created an account and asked for an activation code, but it's just that these sneakers are expensive and I wish I could try them since I walked a lot everyday.
974  Economy / Economics / Re: Making use of Bitcoin as payment in our business. on: May 04, 2022, 04:03:37 PM
Making use of "Bitcoin" as another means of exchange In our daily business is my own opinion to improve our business strategy, if customer doesn't have money to pay after purchasing goods and any other business transaction, we should try and implement the means of Bitcoin payment and through this our business will improve in market and it will promote our business both in local and international way because the present century we are now is century of cryptocurrency...so my fans what do you suggest on my opinion!!!!

One major concern of using Bitcoin as a means of payment is the exorbitant transaction fees and the speed of its confirmation. But of course, it can be solved by the Lightning Network like what El Salvador is doing. And of course, depending on the country you are living, you need to check the laws if BTC can be accepted as a medium of exchange.

Right here in the Philippines, even though that we are one of the friendliest in crypto adoption, it's just that there is no clarity about our laws from the central bank if it can be accepted as an alternative payment method for buying and selling goods and services, however can be accepted for just holding, trading and other purposes.
975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reducing Bitcoin Transactions in El Salvador on: May 04, 2022, 03:47:47 PM
Despite the government's emphasis on using bitcoin in daily transactions, people are reluctant to use bitcoin in their transactions (according to a US academic research study).
In September, Chivo was launched by El Salvador. The purpose of launching Chivo was to encourage people to use bitcoin and for every new sign-up, users would receive a $ 30 bitcoin giveaway. But many people stopped using Chivo after receiving the free bonus, and only 20% of users continued to use Chivo after receiving the free bonus.

What is the El Salvador government's strategy to increase the usage of bitcoin by the people?
Will El Salvador people use bitcoin for their daily transactions or not?

For me, even as the president already made Bitcoin a legal tender, it doesn't mean that all of them would accept in using it. Of course, crypto is still very young and the adoption was slow in which it is reasonable. But at least it's much better than none at all. They can't please every citizen out there. It will be accepted gradually but not swiftly. Slowly but surely the citizens would start to embrace Bitcoin in open arms as long they are being educated properly about it and not being mislead with some ponzis using Bitcoin as front.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoPoly - A play to earn game in the POLYGON network on: May 03, 2022, 06:30:44 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but since your thread is all about introducing the game, it's much better to move this to the ANN section of the Altcoin Discussion thread. But of course in the ANN section, you need to be more detailed on this especially including the graphics, tokenomics, team, etc.

And is your project already audited by CertiK, Hacken or any similar audit services to prove your legitimacy?
977  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: cryptocurrency trading courses on: May 03, 2022, 06:27:46 AM
Aside from Youtube, Udemy and other platforms for you to learn about cryptocurrency trading, you can also try Newscrypto. It's free to signup an account and you can access some of the trading lessons for free coming from well-known personalities like Blockchain Wayne (and advanced trading lessons and other state of the art AI trading tools for pro members). Just a suggestion only in which could be an additional source for you at least.
978  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Attending cryptocurrency events on: May 03, 2022, 06:21:48 AM
I'm going to a cryptocurrency event next week and am really excited to meet people who are interested in blockchain technology like me. Have you guys ever been to a cryptocurrency event and if so, how was it?

Last May 1st, I have attended probably the biggest NFT metaverse GameFi event in the Philippines known as #NFTMetaverseGameFi2022. You can Google about that and it was way beyond my expectations. It's the first crypto event that I've attended after more than 2 years due to the pandemic.

This photo was taken by yours truly (just added my watermark to prove that it's mine) Grin

The event was a success and hopefully there will be more to come this year as we're slowly moving on from this dreadful COVID-19 pandemic, hopefully no more lockdowns and restrictions like what China's situation is right now.
979  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason people join bitcointalk forum on: May 02, 2022, 06:01:23 PM
Some more numbers of people join bitcointalk forum for one or two reasons, to gain knowledge or for both the money and the knowledge. The zeal to make money has made many to learn more about bitcoin even if their main motive of joining the bitcointalk forum is to just make money to earn a living. They need to go on research and learn more about bitcoin in order to make qualitative and informative post to gain more merit in order to rank up and get higher pay in signatures they’re participating it. In other words, the knowledge gain can be shared with new members who come to the forum to ask about a particular thing they’re not so sure of.
Either ways, the motive of joining the forum has made many to still achieve the primary aim of why the group is created. To learn about the basics of bitcoin and how the market works plus mining.

I have to agree with this because in the gool ol' days of Bitcointalk where airdrops and bounties are paying big amounts, most of the new members here are having the purpose to make money by joining bounty programs and not learning and contributing about Bitcoin, blockchain, etc., except posting low quality content, POAs and weekly reports.

Thanks to the merit system, it improves the forum overall by minimizing spam activities and low quality posts. Educating yourself and contributing in a decent way should be the main purpose in joining this forum and not only for the purpose of doing bounties only. Just saying.
980  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Project - Power Cash (PRCH) on: May 02, 2022, 05:53:00 PM
I purchased Power Cash (PRCH) on Latoken Exchange with a bellow smart contract address

https://bscscan.com/token/0xc9a8dd015fbdeab7b1d30aed942abb72c300d667

now all pairs closed and the live support of LATOKEN telling they are swapping to the bellow contract (for around 1 month can't trade)

https://bscscan.com/token/0x3B1308AD9d2590ca6A0bF3cA12a2D4Ee15DB07a4

at the first they used Tron blockchain:

https://tronscan.org/#/token20/TA6JuPYq2bFCRdTGyQtdTa2Xj5B4NB7sm1

they did fake pump and who bought this token lost their fund, now we lost our funds and the ex smart contract doesn't have any liquid, and LATOKEN not swapped to the new smart contract.

so they're getting people money and give token which is can't sell!

This should be moved to the Scam Accusations thread.

And I am not a fan of using LAToken exchange. Despite having an account there, but I never used them as an exchange. One of my contacts used to work there but now working on a different project.
