Debt time bomb

Tick...tick....tick.....

Biden borrowing binge driving ‘unsustainable’ rise in global debts, warns IMF
https://uk.yahoo.com/style/biden-borrowing-binge-driving-unsustainable-175346283.html

I made a post on it a few weeks back in time here, this Tick....tick is going to end sooner, and the worst-case scenario we are going to face gonna destroy the whole economic cycle. It really doesn't matter now the gap is too big $32.6 trillion to $23.32 trillion.

Any chances of Bitcoin standards ??
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of reserves? Insurance fund? Best I can do is a random number generator! on: October 12, 2023, 11:58:15 AM
Exactly. It's happened many times before. An exchanges goes bankrupt because of their own shady practices or because of a hack, so they either launch a shitcoin and "pay" back their users in this worthless shitcoin instead of bitcoin, or they just print a few hundred million of an existing shitcoin out of nothing to keep themselves solvent. A prime example of this is Bitfinex and Tether, where they printed almost a billion USDT out of nothing and gave it to themselves after they were hacked and insolvent.

Still, people consider USDT trustworthy, it's all the game of valuation, there is a need for the realization that the value we need is not a stable currency it is Bitcoin. I'm afraid until we are gonna learn there will be another.

I couldn't image if Binance is bankrupt, how bad is the chaos affecting Bitcoin holder since most of people hold their funds in Binance.
If this mishap is really based on truth, then the cover of this disaster, i.e., Binance Bankrupt, will be beyond imagination. Why are 150 million people connected to Binance with their assets? If Binance shuts down or goes bankrupt, it may cause a sell-off panic in the cryptocurrency market due to the sell-off in the prices of bitcoin and other coins.

This is the hit I'm talking about, non-custodial holdings are the only solution to avoid it but it's a hard job to educate people for the possible outcomes. SAFU is not a sign of reliability, it point out something better to make an exit.

If you've not been following the FTX trial, you really should, because the level of fraud on display is enough to even rival that of CSW. Here are two snippets of code (pictures courtesy of https://nitter.cz/molly0xFFF) which have been submitted as evidence in the trial. This code is regarding FTX's insurance fund which was widely publicized:

The first picture above shows how the value of 5,250,000 FTX Token supposedly in the insurance fund was "calculated". It wasn't. It was just coded in. insuranceFund.size = 5250000 FTT. Cheesy

The second picture above shows how the value of USD in the insurance fund was "calculated". The daily trading volume on FTX was multiplied by a random number, and this was used to adjust the insurance fund to a new size. Cheesy

This is the kind of bullshit centralized exchanges are using in their "proof of reserves", "safu funds", "insurance funds", "collateral funds", "1-to-1 matching reports", and all the other trash they peddle to convince you your funds are totally safe. Literal random number generators. They will do and say anything to get you to hand over your coins to them. Don't fall it.

almost 10 years of bitcoin for me.. .. life before bitcoin and life after getting into bitcoin.

My 10 year anniversary in bitcoin is in May 2024. Hopefully we have an approved spot ETF by then & an ATH maybe.

I was a fresh faced mid 20’s noob back then. I have done very well from bitcoin but my God, it ages you.

Haha weird, but my birthday falls in May, and the surprise or gift you're considering could very well be the most remarkable birthday present. Speaking of gifts, there's a promising prospect on the horizon – the approval of a Bitcoin ETF by April 2024. This will mark my fourth year of being involved with Bitcoin, which, in its own right, feels like being an early adopter. But regardless, I can't wait to see what the future holds! for me & BTCitcoiner

In the loving memory of Mt. Gox. .... love you buddy.
yep.. Got it

966  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance Founder CZ said that, Copy trading now live on Binance. on: October 11, 2023, 06:07:21 PM
I was expecting something better from Binance, but until now I haven't explored the copy trading option in Binance maybe because of the regional restrictions or lunching phases, etc. I will give it a try but I made some bold comments on the copy trading strategy in the pas few months because I had encountered many failure stories in my locality with this strategy and I have a pre-build view of how it works and ruins the trading career of manies.

Copy trading is good for testing, educational, and comparison purposes a really good and considerable strategy, even with luck some of many can make money out of it, but its like fast food not good for your health. Better to focus on skill development and not waste time on such stupidities.
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: While Hodling, Don't under estimate the importance of selling. on: October 11, 2023, 05:59:29 PM
We all know that Crypto is a long term investment but not all. Many people buy memecoins and some other coins with no use case to make money but they listen to influencers and keep holding after making huge profit to later end up at loss. Always remember that these Altcoins cannot continue to go up forever. Selling at profit will surely make you buy more at low price if you believe in the project.
Also, selling is important in most cases because its same as taking profit which is risk management, brings peace of mind and lock you in gains..
Selling at the right time also allow you to diversify your portfolio.
Note : This isn't a financial advice but my own strong opinion according to my experience.

OP I do agree with the perspective to are talking about, but I think most of the people here are the long-term accumulators except for those who are entering new, so for that particular category I don't think selling really matters because in their case the longer run accumulation not the profit booking on the time, even they can adjust their average accumulation by selling and a point and than re-entering the market on lower price, mostly they prefer safe play with DCA.

I'm a person who prefers the strategy adoption according to the market sentiments, I do believe in DCA but I consider myself multi strategies, accumulator a constant accumulation + extra accoridn to the market moves. Taking risks rewards more that's a fact. Adopting the hybrid strategies opens a wider range to play on the field but being specific limits the risk and rewards as well, The DCA is good for the newbies for those who have tasted flavors of the market before their own strategy will work more effectively.

People always say they are "HODLers" until they lose 50% net worth over night.

It will spice up things if you consider the Bitcoin valuation scale rather than the shity fiat money with terrible inflation + unlimited supply and so on...

I was expected to see such sort of bullshit by the centralized platforms but I wasn't expecting it to be the same in the case with the reputed ones anyhow they completely lost it years ago.

They just mean bussnies at any cost, I'm sure such sort of shity approach is gonna slip out from the other top exchanges as well, simply they can do anything in their territory which is close sources. CZ is smart but in the current timeline, Biannce seems to be the second most suspicious one doing this but somehow they are surviving. But I took exit a long time ago.

Binance last audit was not accepted by people because they said there is no transparency in their PoR.

Crypto exchanges need transparency, as opacity is as outdated as beepers and dial-up internet.
969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big whale play game of sentiments with short investors and put them in FOMO on: October 11, 2023, 03:25:50 PM
Yes sir, You are right they are really not trust able their action is just to put short investors in their trap well it is obvious that Whales are expert of playing this game of sentiments.

Buddy, can you please elaborate on the short investors as it seems like any kind of short word, I think most likely you are talking about the weak hands aka short-term holders (newbies, emotionally weak traders/investors).

TBH as I had already mentioned in my above post whales really do not like to play any kind of game in the market, whales are the maximum Bitcoin holders (Power Bitcoiners) not institutes like any service provider in the crypto market. Also, the accumulators don't really care about it as the sentimental game is not for them, it is for the traders to trap them up. Simple whales have a strong physiology due to their experience a broader mindset.

Rest of that many thanks for reading this thread as i know i made it large and you may really give your time to read it and i will try come back again with some good ideas as well

That's the spirit but I would advise following up with some more colors you can use glow to make the topic more readable and attractive rather than increasing the text size. Best of luck

The whole idea behind merit farming is to rank up or earn more merits to look appealing to campaign managers. But if you take a closer look, we don't even have to spend time investigating which accounts are legit because the moment they join a campaign, their post quality tends to shoot up. So, personally, I trust the judgment of those campaign managers – they're popular for a reason around here.

Right on Track...

972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big whale play game of sentiments with short investors and put them in FOMO on: October 10, 2023, 09:11:20 PM
Hmm.. OP the text is looking weird you've changed the standard size to a custom one, there is no issue when you customize the size for bolding something like a title, heading, or mentioning a particular point.. Better to use the standard size.

You are not at all assisting in readability by increasing the size or anything else you were aiming for, At the same time sentiments are really game changers in your journey but for those who are accumulators, temporary sentiments are not that dominant. FOMO, Fud, and fear whales had nothing to do with them, they don't attack specifically they just adopt a better strategy, Whales don't manage the market a maximum of times, and institution does. Be aware that it in this market you are competing with smarter brains so be on alert and consistent with your efficient decisions.

973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling vs trading on: October 10, 2023, 06:49:17 PM
Holding is the investor's approach and trading is the market professionalises approach, as simple as it is. Newbies are always recommended to enter the market with a holding approach and learn about the market momentum and spend some time learning about trading skills, and exercise strategies after that trader is more powerful than an investor as he can rely on better decision-making strategies to gain higher returns.

What makes both different is their view of understanding the market, an investor or holder takes the cyclical behavior of the market and its fundamental analysis at the same time a trader is a time market analyst he examines the sentiments of the market and patterns, on-chain data, etc. A trader is emotionally more strong and patient as compared to a holder. It varies from person to person as well.
974  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How can I trade on P2P On Binance exchange? on: October 10, 2023, 06:32:04 PM
We all know Binance is one of the best exchange in the world and there is a button called P2P Trade and there one can trade in their own local currency. I don't know how to do that so I'm asking for help from everyone. I hope you can explain me in detail.

I would like to recommend you find a local dealer and try to deal in cash because if there are some regulatory issues in your country think exchange may lead to some problems, some regulatory problems.

On the other hand, be very careful while P2P trade on Binance, even though they've made it pretty secure but still spammer can trick you in. My motive is to guide you better as most of the members are just gonna guide you through the process. It is pretty simple you can even go through the Binance tutorials on how to trade securely using P2P.
975  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Common mistakes by unskilled traders on: October 10, 2023, 01:39:17 PM
Remember trading requires not just strategy, but discipline

Hmm, Op What I think is discipline while trading also comes under strategy, I totally agree that to be a good trader discipline is the key, it helps in making more confidential decisions. The most important part is saving the wicket,. capital is important, loss is important but losing the maximum capital is total destruction. Stay in the market save the wicket and wait for a perfect entry time, Consistency in the market and small losses are priceless experiences to make good profits.

977  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a Standing Desk the Right Choice for Traders? on: October 10, 2023, 11:45:26 AM
Haha, Op, it seems like you've fantasized about trading too much, as in trading what matters is your skills, your decision-making, your experience & is your risk management. Whether you are standing or not it doesn't matter, you've been using 4 screens or 3 doesn't matter all these are the facilities, not the necessities.

Op I cant authenticate your experience but I'm sure even after spending much time you are inexperienced because such type of redundant topics cant be crated by an expert. Op I really don't want to discourage but the perks are you talking about own 0 weightage in the trading zone. I want to ask an innocent question How fast the decision-making can be on the standing desk does it provide the flash power to watch all the possible outcomes, or does it slow down the time for you to think better? Health is a good concern but in trading regardless of physical health, they need to take care of their mental health because trading makes trader tier not because of physical involvement but just because of their brain power consumption.
978  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most risky adventure you must avoid on: October 08, 2023, 07:57:57 PM
Stop loss in trading is very important, especially if we trade futures, to prevent further losses.
-snip-
Stop loss usage has absolutely nothing to do with whether you trade futures or not - why should it?
Stop losses are a standard tool in any sensible trading strategy. Anyone who says otherwise has never traded.

I put stop losses in almost every trade. If the trade is already positive, the limit is moved up until I reach my desired target. If the trade becomes negative, a sensibly set stop loss saves me from losing too much money - or coins, of course.

Hmm, good physiology that you decide your losing level before entering the trade, but don't you think it really creates a gap in your physiology as it can be due to the un-confidential decision, I know a stop is just in case point still, while trading in a volatile market after all the analysis and decision when you take a trade and set a stop loss it gets hit and the market recovers even goes in profit what a trader got in that situation? (It May sound fictional But that's a fact at least in 90% of cases in hitting stoploss).

A completely opposing side exists as well but that is not the topic now in risk management. triggers are good but while being depend on them in a volatile market not a good strategy.

979  Economy / Reputation / Re: To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men on: October 08, 2023, 07:49:31 PM
In a sense that is an anonymous place how can you be sure about friendship until having a one-on-one conversation and a good meal, reputation is not a concept that anyone can conclude by himself by the actions and journey of a person the fellows decide it. We can easily say that nothing's personal but where you spend your time and build your reputation with the fellows a third person starts accusing nonsense it automatically tigers the emotion.

Everyone considers his priorities, and WIT is better at controlling the expectations of others. Live in peace  Smiley.

Mind you, friendship could be deceptive or genuine be it physical or virtual, and for friendship to start virtually (like in this forum) doesn't mean it has not advanced physically, you can't investigate everyone on this. I know of many from my local board that are now bonding physically, you never can tell the power of forums.

Even if they do not see doesn't mean they cannot virtually form a strong bond and alliance.

Hmm, in the locality it might be possible, as I've got some good friends on this forum as well, At the same time you cant compare the bond with those who are in your memories and who gave plenty of time, and a significant part of your daily life. Better to know the difference between a fellow & friend .. (Six characters but an immense difference).

Hello all, apologies for the repeated threads this is just my first bull run coming up and I want to know for sure what needs to be done when paying taxes as I have received different opinions and want to make sure I do it right when it comes to it.

My salary is £33k and I pay 20% tax so should I not being paying 20% on my capital gains tax or is it 10% ?

I'm still not sure what kind of support/help you are looking for, as a fellow above said consider hiring a consultant, Can you mention the options you've got to clarify the whole context, so in this way, you might get a better suggestion as you'll be able to get rid of all these recurrent questions.

Enjoy  Wink also, stick to the tips, don't create redundant topics frequently.
