961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 07, 2023, 11:51:08 PM

Well, it’s a good thing the claim about having an European sex championship as a registered sport is false cause it  sounds really crazy and I didn’t think any sports body would approve it’s existence.
And I had wondered how the so called sport would have been televised and broadcasted all over. But I do know there are crazy people out there that would apply in a heartbeat to be registered if at any time a crazy and irrelevant “sport” like sex competition ever comes into existence. We’re living in crazy times where crazy things are bound to happen.

I believe that any comparison bade between Messi and Ronaldo and other players is prone to falling short of many things. De Bruyne is a totally different type of player whereas a comparison between Ronaldo and Haaland could make sense at some point. But Messi is a category of its own. He has midfielder qualities as much as he has striker qualities and free kick qualities and assisting qualities. Ronaldo was a goal machine, but he never contributed to the game besides the result. He wasn't someone who also tried to pass the ball perfectly in order to make other players score. De Bruyne isn't the typical goal scorer, but is able to score important ones and probably one of the best conductors the game has seen. Haaland will need to confirm his performances for several years, but he is on a great way to stand up to a lot of comparisons.

I don’t think a comparison between Ronaldo and Haaland could make any sense. At least not now nor in the nearest future. Ronaldo is a goal scorer. You mentioned he never contributed to the game besides the results. If I may remind you, the result is majorly what matters and how the game is played is irrelevant if the game is ultimately won and Ronaldo helped win a lot of games during his prime.
Admittedly, Ronaldo loves putting himself out there and trying to score goals(and he does score goals) because goals are what matters in a football game. I think there should not be a comparison between Ronaldo and Haaland  just yet as Ronaldo has had a fulfilling and amazing career and Haaland is just starting out.

At first I thought like you. But it turned out that I was wrong, Gabriel Jesus is not as good as Haaland, so Man City's strength increased many times after Haaland came. Haaland became a striker who needed a lot of players to stop him. This is because he is bigger and stronger. Unlike Jesus, he is good but not as good as Haaland. Haaland was able to attract many players to stop his movement. So Haaland opens up a lot of space for a second striker or midfielder to make a goal-bound shot from outside the box. It worked during the FA Cup final.

I still think Manchester city doesn’t depend wholly on the abilities of Haaland as a striker to score goals. No doubt, Haaland is a very talented striker and Manchester City’s strength may have increased a bit with him on the squad. He’s a big and energetic striker who’s also moves quickly and opens up beautifully for passes or crosses from other teammates to score goals.
I wouldn’t say Gabriel Jesus is not as good as Haaland. Gabriel Jesus is a more experienced player than Haaland. Haaland has his youthful energy as well as his height and build and he uses all that to the best of his ability.
964  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter ad sales down 59%, company valuation down 66% on: June 06, 2023, 09:54:05 AM

Keep in mind that Musk didn't buy Twitter to make profit (as a business). He did it to gain power over information and in the political scene. This means such drops does not matter at all, the only drop that matters is in the number of users and the propaganda's reach which is not happening so far.

I’m starting to think along the same lines as well. I did think he bought twitter as a business to make a profit off advertisers and the sales of blue ticks reenforced my thoughts on that.

But his engagements on the platform has shown me at least that he’s content and willing with spreading his own thoughts and opinions over certain issues and lots of gullible people would gulp it down as truth. And yes, the only drop in numbers that would matter to him is the number of users cause he’s actively promoting twitter as a platform where free speech is allowed. Hate speech disguised as free speech in my opinion.
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 05, 2023, 09:03:29 PM
Yes it is clear that Manchester city is the winner of this season champion league trophy that is a big win and also show that Manchester city as a club have been consistent in their performance since their maintain same spot since last season and as a matter of fact, Real Madrid that could have been a threat to Manchester city victory is currently underperforming and that is something that worries a lot of their fan currently real Madrid can not meet up To Manchester City standard in this season.

It’s actually not clear that Manchester City is the winner of the Champions league trophy this season. Inter Milan as well as Manchester City are in the battle for the Champion League title and the outcome of the game could go either ways.
Admittedly, Manchester City is looking really good as they’re in amazing form and also been consistent in winning games as well so it’s not surprising people would already declared Manchester City to win the game.

I too think Manchester City would win the game but I also keep an open mind that anything could happen and Inter Milan could as well play better and win.
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 05, 2023, 08:13:11 PM
This season was really amazing because during this season we had a very close race between the top teams of the table and until last week all the teams had hoped to get a better place in the table.

I agree. The just concluded season was really interesting as we almost had Arsenal win the cup. They had been having a good run and I did think they would have won the title. And it was also great seeing Manchester City winning games, accumulate points and climbed up through the ranks, overtaking Arsenal and finally won the league. It was also interesting to see some teams like Brighton play well against some top clubs.
Clubs like Chelsea would need to change tactics in order to have better performances next season. Perhaps the new coach would make some difference.

The next season would be more interesting and more competitive.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 05, 2023, 12:17:18 PM
You as a gambler..
1. What do you make of this?, is sex truly a sport and is it supposed to be carried out openly?
2. If casinos pick this up and make provisions available to users to bet on this supposed European sex Championship, would you bet?

Lets have some serious and healthy discussion here..

Never for one day did I envisage sex being a sport cause the thought of something like making love being a sport where people come together to compete is very ridiculous. But Sweden has proved me wrong and that literally anything could now be considered as a sport. How long till this new “sport” is included in the Olympics as a field event lol.
Sex isn’t a sport and I wonder what the organizers had in mind when they thought about all this. Obviously, minors won’t be allowed(or would they?)amongst the spectators watching and cheering on the participants as they engage in sexual activities. That isn’t sport, it’s live pornography.

I don’t know about casinos picking this up but I bet if there are people willing to bet, then provisions would definitely be made available for people interested.
968  Economy / Economics / Re: how to overcome inflation for the community on: June 02, 2023, 05:34:41 PM
how to deal with inflation according to my community:

1. Save money
2. Prepare for an emergency
3. Looking for additional income
4. Consumption of domestic products
5. Start investing and saving

Picture putting your money in the bank, perhaps in a fixed deposit account with the aim of saving for the long term(let’s say two years) The bank takes your money and does business with it; borrowing to individuals with in some cases, an extremely ridiculous interest rate.
After the two years is up, the bank gives you back your money with some interest which makes it peanuts when compared how much the bank made with your money in their custody.

Goods and services have risen over the period of two years. Your money in the bank might have increased slightly but the prices of goods and services would have risen exponentially leaving you with less purchasing power.

I think you could start saving and invest also. Investing your money could give you some good returns which would help lesson the brunt of inflation in the long run.
969  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: June 02, 2023, 04:30:47 PM
Actually, it depends on each person, there are some who always feel inadequate with what they get. The key is to be grateful for what we get, in my opinion being rich or poor doesn't really affect the problem of whether or not a need is sufficient, because if they understand then they will know how to use it. Often they always complain and feel they are not enough for the money they have received, as if money is like the wind that just comes and goes.

You’re quite right. It depends on each person. And yes, there are some people who would feel like they haven’t got enough money in the bank. All that has to do with contentment. A content individual would live a life of happiness on an  average pay while some people choose to acquire more and more money.

All that doesn’t change the fact that a wealthy individual could buy at a whim whatever he/she desires whereas a middle to low income individual definitely cannot afford spontaneous buying.
From the OP,  he mentioned that money is never enough and how hard it is to collect a loan from the bank with a barely adequate degree.
People who are driven by mostly greed or hunger for more accomplishments are the ones who continue to actively strive to make more money.
970  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank loans and securities. on: June 02, 2023, 02:59:55 PM
Banks can not loan you above their security measures. I went to bank to access a loan of $2,300 and they ask me what's my securities collateral to back up my loan reguest. And I said my school certs. The bank agent said such amount required housing, land or multi investment documents not just certification. So that's mean education do not have the real value but properties does.

Financial institutions are very conical in dealings with others. They can beg to bring money for them to use it and build estates, mortgage and occupy landed properties but they will screw you before given you a loan.

I honestly don't understand what you think the bank should do. You would expect a financial institution that is making profits from deposits  to lend you a loan of two thousand usd without having a good collateral that would easily cover up and settle your loan.

You cannot say having a quality higher education doesn't count when applying for a loan. A college or higher degree would in my opinion be a plus to your application when giving your sales pitch on the reasons for the loan and how to pay back the loan. Perhaps there may be more reasons on why you were denied the loan aside having a good collateral.
971  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: June 02, 2023, 02:01:40 PM
Of course money isn't enough to get whatever you need. But for some folks, there is enough money to buy whatever. So I would take it that you're talking from a perspective from people that's middle to lower class. For those folks, money isn't enough.
Asides, a characteristic of money is scarcity. Money needs to be scarce to some extent so as to retain its value and purchasing power. Middle to low income earners would then have to work harder in their present job and also seek other sources of income to help out with expenses.
972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 02, 2023, 01:19:30 PM
Yes, I think betting on Inter Milan is quite profitable because of course it has higher odds than Manchester City, that means the bookie and many gamblers are sure of Manchester City's victory, for the sake of profit and luck there's nothing wrong with people betting for Intermilan, but for me it is impossible to bet against my favorite team

Yeah, the odds are looking really good and in favor of Manchester city as they're the favorites to win. Despite being the favorites, they're in amazing form and a really strong team which just won the EPL title. Of course their odds would be higher.
We are thinking along the same lines. Betting on Inter Milan would be really profitable(depending on how much you bet with obviously) only if they win. If I'm feeling brave enough, I may just go ahead and wth some very little funds bet on a win for Inter Milan.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Robert Kennedy Jr a True Bitcoiner or a Pseudo Bitcoin supporter? on: June 02, 2023, 08:37:32 AM
I think most if not all politicians are liars and would say and do anything to get votes. Their words can never be fully trusted. Robert Kennedy Jnr may not be any different from the rest.
Personally, I don’t think he gives any thought about bitcoin as he’s trying to portray and he may very well be kissing up to younger voters who are also bitcoin holders. I’m trying to be optimistic here but with politicians, I just can’t afford to have my hopes up only to be disappointed.
974  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: June 01, 2023, 10:45:13 PM

It's now that I believe that God's patience on those falsely using his name in vain is like no other, I got angry about this myself because none of this is God's business, HE has nothing to do with crypto, he gave us two hands and a brain to work and to think, but a lot of people are going to be a forever fool in this world, no matter what you do for them ot teach.

I think some people like being led and perhaps unconsciously like being told what to do. Also, being deeply immersed in religion, anything the preacher would say must be the truth. People use the name of the lord to sway the ignorant folks into parting away with their money.

I too see people’s opinions on here and elsewhere thanking God for bitcoin. It’s absurd. And you’re right. People are going to be continually fooled using the name of the lord.
These are people who don’t do any research for themselves and people who don’t study the Bible cause the preacher is there to tell them what’s in it. Very pathetic.
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: May 31, 2023, 10:03:14 PM
Quite sincerely, the game looks like what will end in a penalty shoot out, with both teams failing to score again in the first half of the extra time.

The game has entered and begun the penalty shootout to determine who the winner would be. Both teams having played full time and couldn’t produce a winner, has entered into penalties. So far, Bono has saved two penalty shot. He has been really good during the game as he had saved his side from conceding a lot of goals.
Sevilla is now leading after having saved two penalty shots.

Anything can happen in football. I don't even wanna try to pick which team that will be dominating the match. The good vision is keep calm until the match will be starting.

I have no problem with people argued that city will be dominating the match and scoring the goals easily against intermilan but they were underestimating intermilan.

Anything could literally happen in football and the game could go either way. And the game between Manchester City and Inter Milan isn’t any different. While it’s best to keep calm until the game starts, you wouldn’t deny the abilities Manchester City possesses. They’ve been in top form and in my opinion, are favorites to win in the game against Inter.
Not to underestimate Inter Milan as they’ve got dependable players capable of scoring goals as well. It definitely would be interesting to watch what team would prevail over the other.
977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 30, 2023, 11:38:18 PM
Mikel Arteta is a young coach and compared to Guardiola he doesn't have enough experience and maybe that's why he failed to win the league this season while Arsenal had the first place in the table for weeks but lost just a few points and made some a few mistakes was enough for Guardiola to take the first place of the table however Arsenal had a good performance in this season and we can't complain about this team situation but I guess if Guardiola was not coaching Manchester City, Arsenal could win this season.

I think Pep is way more experienced than Arteta. But that isn’t the only reason why he failed to clinch the EPL title.  There are a few other things Manchester City has going for them that Arsenal lacks. True, Arsenal had and held the first place position for a while but had some issues that made them drop form. Manchester City in my opinion, has a lot of quality and better players than Arsenal does. The tactics and expertise of the coach is also a point to note and Pep has that in the bag. Perhaps, Arsenal may have truly won if Pep wasn’t at the helm of Manchester City.
In general, Arsenal had a good season and coming in second place is actually not bad.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 30, 2023, 08:19:03 PM
Well I aslo agree on the issue of arsenal not replicating this season performance because they show how they were unable to cope with the pressure of the league at the end of season but I would like to clear that it would be hard for team like Brighton to contest for the league but no doubt their performance was excellent but contending for the league, thats a totally different atmosphere with teams like Manchester city at their current best it will be hard for any team now to compete with them in for the title.

Obviously it would be very difficult for Brighton to contest for the league with top tier teams like Manchester City and even Arsenal amongst the contenders. But it’s undeniable the performance put up by Brighton has been superb. I may be wrong but i still think Arsenal might just not be able to replicate the performance displayed in this just ended season. Realistically, it would almost impossible or very unlikely for Brighton to actually win the title but judging from their recent performance, it would be interesting to watch them fight for it.
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 30, 2023, 04:58:50 PM

Next season, I double doubt if they can perform the way they did this season.  Much focus would be on, Brighton, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and also Newcastle for the top four.

I too doubt Arsenal could replicate their performance and play as well as they did in the just concluded season. And I agree with you on clubs like Brighton and Newcastle being clubs we should watch out for next season. Their performance especially Brighton was almost shocking to me. Both clubs would be great contenders for the EPL title next season. If Brighton could play as well as they had done in the just concluded season, and perhaps put in some more effort, I could see them finishing in the top four positions. Manchester United should also better step up their game cause the competition is getting more and more intense.
980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 30, 2023, 08:19:06 AM

Lets waiting two months later with Primer League season 2023/24 will have another excited and how possibilities with Manchester City continues their dominance winning again four time in a row?

It would surely be an exciting new season and I’m sure a lot of people are looking forward to it. There are some clubs that I before now underrated as low tier clubs but I’ve now had a change of perspective. I think clubs like Brighton are clubs to look out for next season as they’ve shown they could play against any club in the premier league and actually have a good chance of winning the game.
Manchester City would most likely in my opinion, remain in amazing the form that they’re currently riding on and if they can’t win again, they would very likely be amongst the top 3.
