961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ASK] Why do people buy altcoin? on: May 14, 2017, 11:41:15 PM
The mean reason to buy altcoins is to trade and make big profit , some coins bought at the right moment can give double or triple the benefits of the investment, some even multiply their value by 10 in a few days. Having a much lower value is easier than a sudden rise in price produces a high percentage of profit. For example, a coin that is worth a dollar, if value rises to five dollars multiplies the amount invested by five.
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: May 14, 2017, 10:18:43 PM
There are already some Bureau De Change in these cities, in these establishments people change currencies, it would be easier for these sites to accept bitcoin as another currency to exchange.
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank in Norway now supports Bitcoin on: May 14, 2017, 09:58:52 PM
If I understood correctly the news is that users instead of sending their money from the bank to Coinbase and wait a couple of days until they arrive they can directly connect the bank account with the Coinbase account and make the purchase instantly. It is a faster way to do it but users should also be more careful about their safety.

The really novelty, I do not know if we will see it soon, would be that a bank gave the option to make an deposit into your account in bitcoin and change it directly to local currency or do the process in reverse, I don´t know if we will see this over time.
964  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Japanese exchanges increasing on: May 14, 2017, 09:14:43 PM
I read today online that Japanese bitcoin capitalization is more than that of usa! This makes Japan to be the next hub of bitcoin investment.
yes apparently bitcoin users in Japan has increase because over than $1 billion bitcoin transactions in Japan from last month it is prove that Japanese people has very concern to bitcoin and currently there are 13 exchanges available in Japan and i have to says that Growth of bitcoin in that country More rapidly rather than in my country

Another interesting possibility is that Japan could grab the technological lead in Bitcoin, or at least parts of the overall technology.

There are numerous examples of how Japan leads the world in some technologies, one important one that I have seen "in action" is robotics.  The USA is almost completely absent from leadership in robotics, the leading robot makers are Japanese and Swedish (some German & Swiss).  China is rumored to investing heavily in robotics too.

My point is that Japan could very well capture the heart of many important parts of BTC technology should they wish.

I also think that this will happen and I also think they will find new ways to integrate bitcoin and blockchain to other technological advances.
965  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin lose value after today's cyber attacks in the UK? on: May 14, 2017, 08:55:32 PM
Yes, nothing to do with Bitcoin, but media all over the globe FUD about Bitcoin,
Exactly. If Bitcoin was not that prominent cryptocurrency then cyber criminals would use other altcoin.
If we won't have cryptocurrency at all, they would use other means of payment like they tend to do in the past:
bank wire transfers, premium text messages, pre paid voucher like Paysafecard and more.

It is idiotic when you blame Bitcoin for ransomware (which NSA or CIA leaked in the first place).

In adidtion to this bitcoin is not the most anonymous coin, there are some altcoins whose trial could be much harder or even impossible to track. They chose bitcoin because is more popular and easy to get but they could easily require a ramson in monero, for example.
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QAU] QUANTUM PROJECT - Connecting markets on: May 13, 2017, 08:36:35 PM
~snip~
Thats because an ICO these days are a good speculative investment. The returns are usually 100% or more. I havent seen an ICO token that didnt sell in an exchange without any profit. We should better make money because the market will not be always in the same sentiment.
No, the return is not always 100% or more once you have invested in ICO. There are some new projects which the price of ICO still same or lower than their ICO price. The recent example is HMQ (Humaniq) coin, their ICO price was around 4k sats (some people said 5k sats, but whatever), Now, as you can see on Bittrex, their price fir each HMQ coin is around 3,5k sats which lower than their ICO price.

This will depend on the investors. When the token reaches the exchanges what they have to do is put high sales orders, quite above the ICO price. This will make the buy orders higher. The token supply will be lower every month so the value and price of the tokens should rise progressively each month.
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RANSOMWARE impact on: May 13, 2017, 07:14:25 PM
I don´t think so. If anything, it could be a little price decrease if these people sold all their coins at once but surely they will not do that either.
968  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin treated as money in Australia from 1. july on: May 13, 2017, 07:07:28 PM
Australia has long taken steps that are leading many people to speculate if it´s headed toward a cashless society http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-03-27/is-australia-on-the-brink-of-becoming-cashless-society/8377288. They are betting heavily on technology and in this sense it´s not at all strange this measure they have taken with regard to bitcoin. It´s clear that they bet on the use of bitcoin, the creation of companies and to attract investment. After the news from Japan now Australia, and what is to come, a change is coming and there are only two options, adapt or stay behind.

969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 13, 2017, 06:54:13 PM

Also, the news media articles are not mentioning Bitcoin or playing it down as the ransom payment method. Hell one article on CNN listed the ransom payment in dollars only.

I fully believe this omission on the part of the media is by design. But not for the reason that they "don't want to villify Bitcoin" or "don't want to associate Bitcoin with the bad thing" that everyone believes.

It's because they don't want to help spread awareness of Bitcoin to more Average Joes as being more valuable than fiat currency, and they want to continue to control the narrative surrounding Bitcoin.

Yes I was watching for how many times Bitcoin was mentioned, and it was very few, on a number of occasions when it would normally been mentioned in the flow of the story it was omitted. Agenda or not, the facts speak for themselves.

Maybe they do it because they don´t want people to wonder why they ask for the ramson in bitcoin. The reason is because of the difficulty of tracking the money later, especially once it has gone through a mixer. Now that Bitcoin is increasingly known, they may not want to emphasize that aspect. The IRS has already sued Coinbase requesting their user data in case they might be evading taxes, the Chinese government made a review on the exchanges, among other things, because they suspected capital flight.
970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where is all this new trading volume coming from? on: May 13, 2017, 06:43:04 PM
Seems Japan still have that FOMO, it can  be seen on the exchanges volume.  This means the new trading volume comes majorly from Japan and it is not done yet, there are still pending license application from several large company that want to venture in Bitcoin too so we are expecting another push in price of Bitcoin this coming months.

And Japan now has the largest trading volume last 24hrs with 50%. And yes, there a lot of exchanges that are going to open soon in Japan so expect the price increase to continue.

I might be missing something. Where did you get that data? Can you post he website here?

Quote
Maybe the US or Canada are also putting a lot of the bitcoin tradings at a regular rate, but it is really Japan that is pumping new cash flow into the bitcoin ecosystem. We will need to note that the Chinese exchanges are going to resume the withdrawals as well. So this news will really push the price of bitcoin to go $3000 at the end of the month.

The Chinese are known to be the biggest dumpers of Bitcoin in the market after a decent rise in price. If they were around an the PBOC did not intervene I do not believe Bitcoin would have reached $1800. It is better if they are not around.

And the major mining farms are Chinese and if the price goes up too much other companies in other parts of the world might consider investing in bitcoin mining, which would mean that Chinese miners would have more competition.
971  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Re: [ANN][QAU] PROYECTO QUANTUM - Conectando mercados on: May 13, 2017, 05:34:06 PM

972  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: May 12, 2017, 06:04:45 PM
In terms of adoption I think that a stable price or a stable range would make bitcoin more popular among people. I doesn´t mind if the price is higher or lower, it´s more about to maintain itself at a certain range with the typical fluctuations that, for example, fiat money have. I am convinced of this because bitcoins have some applications that are not being used because the volatility risks. For example, you can use bitcoin to send money to your family in other part of the world, you can use it when you travel to another country, you convert your money to bitcoin and then you convert to fiat money again at destination, you can accept bicoin in your business to but what happen if in the time your bitcoin arrives to your family, in the time you are flying to your travel destination or in the time between you are getting paid in bitcoin and you convert those coins in fiat, what happen if in this time bitcoin drops? It´s true that there are some solutions, the merchant can use an api that convert those coins automatically, but in the other examples you can be lucky if bitcoin price goes up but if it goes down, if there is a dip you can lose some money.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please dump it on: May 12, 2017, 05:28:54 PM
I have lost the run since I sold all my btc exactly the day before the rise. Now I want to come back but price is too high. Please tell the Chinese to make a dump so I can join again. Thanks

Lol. Where have you been? The Chinese has no longer influence of the bitcoin market price. Japan, if you haven't heard it yet, has legalized bitcoin, meaning it has embraced it last month. So now they are the biggest traders on the market. And if you are looking for the price to dump below $900 now, it won't happened because bitcoin has now evolved and have been stable last couple weeks.

China began to lose influence with central bank inspections on the exchanges. Then Japan has snatched the site clearly. Where China still holds much power is in mining. It will be interesting to see if the price continues to rise and because of this, in other parts of the world are created other mining centers that help to decentralize the process.
974  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin lose value after today's cyber attacks in the UK? on: May 12, 2017, 05:21:03 PM
The only effect that bitcoin will receive will be some more negative publicity because some media will relate the attack with bitcoin and many people will have a more negative image of the coin but this will only last a few days. As for the price will not affect because it´s not a news directly related to Bitcoin.
975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: May 12, 2017, 05:04:17 PM
High fee is one of disadvantages of bitcoins in comparison with many of altcoins.
in many cases I use altcoins when my transaction amount is low and receiver apply that coin.

Using altcoins may be useful but only in very specific cases. One the one hand you save money because its transaction fees are lower but at the same time you have to make a double change bitcoin-altcoin, altcoin-bitcoin in which you can also lose an amount in the double exchange. Different case is if the receiving person accept to receive in altcoin but in general I think it can make you save time, but not much money.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Pumping groups, or how to make a lot of cash by a magic trick on: May 11, 2017, 09:44:14 PM
If you take a look at these prelisted coins you will see a rare pump activity just minutes before the list is published and a big dump after that. But even if you were in a legit group o coin pumpers it would be hard to earn money because you would need to be faster enough to be one of the first buyers but if the rest of the group are faster than you then you are going to buy at the top and will see your money drop.
977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: time to admit its not "spam" , blocks are full on: May 11, 2017, 06:53:36 PM
I don´t know if there is spam but it´s true that the level of adoption is growing and with the boom in Japan and with the rise in price of Bitcoin is normal to have more transactions, I think it would be good to find a solution soon, I think it will end up activating segwit and will be done sooner rather than later.
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: May 11, 2017, 05:39:39 PM
If we look at the fees of other transaction systems then we can say that yes the fees of transaction of bitcoin is a fair fees especially better from the bank transactions. The more better feature is that its transaction is faster and without any third party so why we not pay fees for that facility.
Bitcoin transaction fees is really too much fair than other you can check the paypal fees its very much high and bank fees is also very high and its the reason that people mostly using bitcoin and recommend bitcoin to everyone.
The purpose of bitcoin to be the micropayment gateway, This time the fees is not fair in my opinion. Everyone must pay over 50k satoshi for every transaction which has made the bitcoin can't be defined as micropayment method.

More people will try to use bitcoin and the fees will increase anytime as soon as possible.

The fees of bitcoin depend on the traffic of the bitcoin network.

As simple as that. These days there is some saturation, more transactions requests from which they can be processed. This causes the fees to be higher to gain priority, if the number of transactions were lower the fees would be lower as a consequence. You can also choose to pay a little less fees if you have no problem waiting longer to complete the transaction. It´s true that the biggest problem is for micropayments, one dollar payments or the like. In the future solutions like Lightning Network will surely impose to solve this.
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Victoriouscoin|Soft launch|Thevty.club:Get hundred dollars of courses on: May 11, 2017, 05:29:07 PM
Guys keep posting here Nova exchange one of the exchange where vty is being traded is not accepting eth token based coin but we want to have at least one active exchange when we do token migration,we're still discussing what we are going to do with Yobit trapped coin, which is one of our concern not only us but other dev also ..

Keep posting your suggestion brothers and sisters we are renewing our domains and we want everything set up before we test our updated script for our projects ..

What about Alcurex? I have my coins there since the beginning and they trade REP and SNGLS. Maybe they can even help with the swap process. If not you could enable a website where we could register our ETH address and send the VTY coins.
980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese Internet Giant GMO is Launching a New Bitcoin Exchange on: May 10, 2017, 08:55:41 PM
It´s interesting to note that many of these exchanges are not open by ordinary people but by large companies that decide to invest in Bitcoin, even a major Japanese bank will open an exchange. There are also more and more millionaires who recognize investing in bitcoin and cryptocoins. It will be interesting to see if the Japanese example extends over time to other countries. We will also have to see if big companies set their sights on mining.
