961  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDK.BND (1%/week) on: September 30, 2012, 03:14:52 PM
9/30/12

Effective immediately,

I am defaulting on my BDK.BND debt. Beyond this, I will no longer be honoring the contract in the form I originally laid out. I previously intended to empty my non-legal wife's (we personally consider ourselves married, but legally, we are individual and thus have rights we'd otherwise forfeit) 401(k). I obviously did not want to do this, but it became clear it was necessary as I was looking at $200-250/wk interest on this single debt while having been financially raped by loans to various members of the community (No, Pirate is not the primary cause of my distress. Please don't turn this into some Pirate discussion.). After weeks of tha stress, on top of previous stress... heated arguments... -- this is no longer an option. I do not think her response to my actions is unreasonable (she's already effectively lost tens of thousands due to my actions), but this clearly affects my ability to repay within what I'd consider a reasonable time-frame. I currently have a negative net worth excluding my residence which would be protected under a personal bankruptcy filing which I will not pursue unless a suit is formally filed against me. I'd advise against taking action on potential cynicism, and suggest you give me at least a couple months to confirm I am indeed making a decent effort toward repaying what I owe.

I am unable to pay interest on my current BDK.BND debt. It's impossible for me to keep up with that, living expenses, and interest on other debts which are small enough where I can close them - and I apologize, in a sense, for the unfairness of how this is being handled. BDK.BND-holders, who I've always wanted most protected from risk, are now getting the shaft. I cannot subject my wife to more loss, and will be forcing BDK.BND holders to suffer as a result of my unwillingness to liquidate my residence. I apologize for the trust I've violated, the business mismanagement, and this default as a result. If I were unable to compartmentalize, I would be unable to write this. I am truly and deeply sorry. I also apologize for not having the emotional fortitude to prevent what I'm also about to announce: I will not be communicating much, if at all. I will likely not read anything written in this thread beyond this post for months. I just can't handle it when there are many things I need to do to get the situation in order. I will not be responding to phone calls, Skype messages, nor responding to emails. I will not be clarifying what I've written, and will not be responding to questions. I just can't right now, and understand how bad that looks and is. Again, I apologize. I will post an impersonal message each time I make a dividend payment.

All BTC I currently own will go toward BDK.BND payments. These will come in the form of irregular, unannounced dividends -- there will no longer be .001BTC/bond dividends each week. I will never buy BDK.BND back, and that section of the contract can be considered practically void. I can do nothing but assure everyone that I have no intent to make any purchases of BDK.BND units, and will allow them to trade freely on GLBSE as people value them given I have absolutely no information on when, and in what amount, these bonds will be repaid. However, I promise I will repay the debt as it stands, as I'm able. So long as GLBSE is active, I am alive, and earning income, I will continue to make dividend payments on BDK.BND units as a gesture of goodwill (and appreciation for not suing me into bankruptcy) beyond the .101BTC "hard debt" I currently consider as existing. Basically - I will be making larger, more rapid payments until dividends beyond this date reach .101BTC/bond. After that time, I will continue paying irregular dividends in a way which is appropriate for the gratitude I owe, and possible for the amount I need to live. I am unable to provide a repayment schedule or dividend schedule. Essentially - I'm giving what I can without forcing an unreasonable amount of loss (beyond what I've currently caused) onto my non-legal wife, and I naively hope everyone trusts me to be doing exactly what I'm saying I will. I'll provide instructions in my will to give an update (with death certificate) on this forum in the event of my death. Though things have been pretty shit lately, I am not at all suicidal -- just gave the info in that last sentence as an FYI.

-Ben

(Additionally... Someone may remember I recently posted assets/liabilities on my side. This included many of my non-legal wife's assets. The CU/bank assets have been largely emptied to repay CD-holders and my mother, who fronted us money to purchase this house [I've since defaulted on that loan, too, after a partial repayment so I could repay CD-holders]. There is still one outstanding CD-holder who has been excessively generous in providing me time to repay.)

(Many individuals have my home address [NOT the Spring Arbor address. That is a family member's house. DO NOT release that address.]. I would prefer my home address not be released publicly, but would also not consider public release of that information unwarranted. If you are coming for a visit, I would like at least a voice message a day or two prior. Harm toward family's off-limits, and I would physically object to bodily harm which may result in my stay in a hospital, as that'd further impede repayment. I am armed, so please keep ideas of physical violence in check.)
I wish you the very best. I hope you can solve your family and financial situation Smiley
I still consider you one of the best and nicest lenders/community member that I have meet.
At least you have the balls to default in the way a default is suppose to be.

I think there's a great lesson the community can learn from this, never guarantee rates. It's not viable long term, things changes.

962  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL releases actual specs. ACTUAL SPECS! on: September 30, 2012, 07:26:27 AM
Can't really blame them if they deliver more than was promised. It just seems weird that the Jalapeno only gets a ~29% increase, while the Single and Minirig both get 50%.
This is in fact what happens in almost all chip production.
Take for example 6950 and 6970 they are the same chip yet they perform differently this is due to that the better performing chips becomes the 6970 while the worse performing becomes the 6950.
Probably the same is true for the BFLS, maybe the good chips becomes Singles and minirigs while the worse performing becomes singles.
Just a guess.

964  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Gamma Insured Pirate Pass Through on: September 29, 2012, 06:50:57 PM
DeaDTerra and I have vastly different definitions of default, as can be observed at multiple instances in this thread.  I consider imsaguy, hashking and INAU to be in default as they have failed to repay their obligations within a reasonable timeframe, and have missed deadlines agreed upon during the repayment process.

First, the contract is between INAU and myself.  Its technically up to the two of us to enforce.

Second, I agree that the part that you bolded is the relevant clause.

(3) Collateralization

This debt shall be used as collateral for DeaDTerra's GIPPT (Insured Pirate Passthrough) bond.  In case ineededausername defaults on that debt, imsaguy must pay as much principal and interest (up to the current principal and interest due) as necessary back to the holders of GIPPT bonds.

The debt is the collateral.  There wasn't a timeline for the repayment of that debt in the case that INAU defaults.   I have paid and continue to pay on this.
This is indeed the case.

Okay!
I am starting to feel like a bad guy over here, which I do not want!
Hence me and INAU will pay the dividend out of our pockets for now until we can do either of:
A, There's evidence or it's obvious that pirate will default or that he will not pay out within a reasonable time limit (one-two weeks)
B, Pirate pays us back.
Then we will buy back the bonds.
Is everyone happy with this deal?
//DeaDTerra
Also, what happened to this?
Option A was satisfied.
Hence we stopped paying dividends.

Okay, Well I have talked to nick and he is not letting INAU sell off or withdraw his deposit with him until he has paid back GIPPT/if INAU runs the debt will be re written to the GIPPT share holders.

Good answer, but I would like a little further clarification just because I don't see the answer-

Someday (in non-default based future), Pirate will drop his service and return all deposits.  What happens at that point?  I assume since you got all the deposits returned to you, you will turn around and buy back all shares @1 btc.  Correct?

How big does someone have to be to ask for a direct withdrawal?  Is there any price point of GIPPT where you would consider initiating a small pirate withdrawal specifically to buy back shares on GLBSE and cancel out the shares?  If you don't do this then I think you are earning interest yourself on value that is no longer present in the market you created... it's an interesting position to be in.

Apologize if these are dumb questions, I like your fund.

Thank you-
I think the bonds are worth hell of a lot more then they are currently, which is kind of sad to see Sad You guys don't like the asset?
The bonds are worth more than 1.2 BTC, by my math. The market is simply saturated. 1 BTC is a joke for them, because then there's 0 risk for the investor of a pirate default. Pirate defaults, I don't lose anything. And that is why I pulled out of YARR and won't be buying Goat's bond.
It is not zero risk.  If pirate defaults, you have to hope that ineedausername and imsaguy, who are both heavily invested in pirate, do not default on the insurance.

Remember this:
Logic question.

Supposedly, someone offers to lock up 5k in escrow and then insure 5k pirate coins with it, paying 2.5% interest to customers on them. If the same person were to just place the 5k into BS&T and take the whole interest himself, he would never have more risk, but always more profit.

I don't see why anyone would make such an offer.
This is indeed something you must believe otherwise only 5% is risk free.
But it can't get much safer except 100% in a offline wallet.
I have not 1, not 2 but 3 people that need to default for the bonds to reduce in value and in that case you still get my 5% Smiley
//DeaDTerra
As said before If all these three people were to default then I would still pay my 5% which I have done.
Now I am still talking to Nick and INAU even though they have defaulted by your definition, they have not run away or abandoned the payback process.

The following contract has been signed by the two parties involved Smiley
Imsaguy also has to notify me if INAU has requested a cancel of the Deposit, to make sure that we have enough backing for the bonds. Also if ImsaGuy defaults then INAU is still responsible for the backing and insurance.

Interestingly, according to the contract between imsaguy and INAU, imsaguy must repay all GIPPT investors if INAU defaults.  INAU is clearly in default.
Why do you say that INAU has defaulted?
I am in contact with both Nick (IMSAGuy) and INAU.

Update.
The depositors will return the backings on the 9th of September and the 28th of September respectively after these two payment all of the GIPPT shares will have been paid back 1 BTC.
How much we will receive during each payback I do not know yet.
//DeaDTerra
Yes that's what the depositors told us and the dates that was given to us in the deal we made with the depositors.
They failed to deliver unfortunately, which meant we couldn't payout.

Mybitcointrade is a complete scam sorry.

Unless we get some companies that actually produce something the bitcoin securities market is effectively dead in the water.

Outside of mining which has its own issues theres not much left thats worth investing in. You can say goodbye to 1-2% a week. Maybe 1-2% a month is more like it.

Bitcointorrentz, satoshidice and IBB are basically it. Mining stocks and bonds are for suckers and aren't good long term investments, only daytrading.

It's seems like that might be the case, I am working on getting our money back. I am currently having contact with the new "owner" of the site but if nothing develops then I am going to release Crazys passport and all the information I have of him, to seek justice.

GLBSE assets are pretty much mining with a few cases of real businesses like S.DICE your correct, that's why we are moving most of our capital to bot trading and into the new venture fund we are starting up Smiley We are currently liquidating out GLBSE possition with a couple of hundred BTC a week (I always make sure we sell on the higher side of the spread) and pushing towards other investments.

Please have a look at the future projects that are up and coming which I posted a couple of days ago.

Right now I am standing by with the GLBSE IPO launch as the whole SEC situation and Nefario/Goat mess has made the situation a bit unclear so I want to make sure everythings clear before we get going.

seems like the dividend worked even though the asset was delisted.

Can somebody work out the total principal repaid so far as dividends? I have not held the shares for the whole time to be able to work it out from my records.

DeadTerra, could you possibly put up a spreadsheet for us to see what has been paid back when and what % of the principle is remaining?
Okay will do, I first want another confirm of the latest dividend as I was unable to get the data due to GLBSE removing the asset from trade.

Just making a public record:

I sold a Butterfly Labs Single to DeaDTerra.
Since we have pretty equal amount of trader feedback the agreement is for DeaDTerra to send half of the BTC amount to me (completed), I then send the BFL unit to DeaDTerra (completed) and DeaDTerra sends the other half of the BTC amount when the package arrives and the BFL unit is tested to be in good working order.

Shipment was made on 9-27-2012 via USPS Priority International Mail.

DeaDTerra, please confirm the receipt of goods when they arrive, thanks and enjoy!
I confirm this transaction and I am awaiting my Single Smiley
