Just finished surgery on  batch 2 S2's after receiving them today. All is well and they are all hashing at around 1 TH/s. As others have mentioned before, you will need to open the unit to reseat some of the cards.

Are these upgradable considering the relatively  modular design ? The PSU can be upgraded and the "wafers" can be removed.  Your thoughts ?

LOL what? you know what wafer means in semiconductor?

I hope you meant "modules"
962  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Rally - Bill in Congress to treat Bitcoin as Currency on: April 15, 2014, 05:06:40 PM
That would be FAR worse, for me at least.  I plan on retiring and paying 0% taxes!  How can I do that if they class it as a currency?

Have to agree here...  I saw people going all apeshit over the initial ruling and just can't get my head around why...  Doesn't everyone (well us Americans anyways) realize that this was the BEST realistic tax treatment for bitcoin?  Classifying Bitcoin as currency means the majority of Americans will pay MORE in taxes.   The only thing that could have been better was a ruling of no-taxes.. and I do not consider this a realistic hope.

Sigg

Because those are kids and never done taxes in their lives?

I dont see how treating it as currency would change how bitcoin is being used except only make it alot more taxable to government.

chip= clone ,
software = clone ,too.

Hi Mate,

You are very welcome to buy our machine and clone. I doubt you have such capability. Otherwise. Please be quite.

Thanks

No one here is your mate, and dont bullshit us about "NON-RELATED" CG miner.

You're not technical enough to make any statement, then tell your "engineer" guy come here and comment.

Making a wrapper of CGminer doesnt make it your own miner idiot.

there is an old saying

"The thief has the most locks"

This is indeed a new account.  I am a real person, look me up, this is my actual Company Name...been on the internet since it started. So while "I" am not new, I AM new to bitcoin (but not alternative currencies).  I know a lot because I did in fact take the time to study up on BTC before coming here and posting...however, that doesn't matter to the know-it-alls who feel everyone else is beneath them.

Right, you did take time to study up on BTC huh ?  Roll Eyes

In Dec 2013, you came here asking how you can mine with your web servers.....then disappeared

4 Months later, in April 2014, you came back asking how profit is mining contract.

4months and you still didnt understand or know about mining economy.

Either you're lying about "studying up" or you're dumb as a door knob.

Is it possible for someone to give me fake or stolen bitcoins?

How long do I wait to make sure a BTC is "legit" and truly mine?

Now i know why you keep typing in CAPs like a retard to, look at you:

It currently costs  ¥3100/BTC

So would have to inject 31 times to get 1BTC  Grin

If you wanted to buy 3BTC you'd be standing there for 3minutes putting in 93 notes - lol

China has the largest counterfeit bills operation in the world.

Heck they even counterfeit foreign bills and export to those countries

PROC want to control so ultimately they like ppl using their banks for transactions.

All of the above.
968  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What company to buy a miner from? on: April 15, 2014, 03:58:49 PM
I was planning on purchasing an X-3 because it's only 1000 watts for 2TH.
It seems though I may be better off buying a TerraMiner IV for the same 2TH but at 2100 watts.

Any thoughts?
Not concerned about power costs.  I am more concerned about my limited power capacity and heat.  I already have 2 ant miners.

Black Arrow do not have a working miner yet... or maybe ever.  This is a very poorly informed decision that you are almost guaranteed to regret.

I haven't ordered anything yet.  From what I've been reading in the forums lately I agree with you about Black Arrow.  Almost all the 2Th miner's I've seen are in the 2000+ watt range. So I am skeptical on how Black Arrow was achieving 50w for 100 GH and 1000 watts for 2TH.

Just looking for the best way to make the most of my income tax refundGrin

What do you think?

I think you should stop making silly threads and spend more time reading.

You're a noob, we get it but atleast show your effort in learning. Being spoonfed is not gonna get you anywhere. You will however be mislead by hearsay.

Dont you think we would have had discussed these topics long time ago?

973  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup & Review on: April 14, 2014, 03:36:04 PM
I'm not touching it until Zvi's response.
Due to Passover, please expect a slower respond time.
You can email directly zvi@

Thanks, i lied.... i touched it again this morning..... Cheesy

I use recorvery SD method that Zvi told me. There are 2 methods to revert: replacing uImage file, or recovery SD.

The recovery SD method worked like a charm. Performance (1.2.7) : 1.38TH/s @ 1250w at the wall.

I cant wait for the 240v wiring now...Cheesy

Thanks Spondoolies team

PS. would it be possible to have an option to adjust fan speed manually? or use temp as target setting (performance is auto adjusted to stay on or below certain temp) ?
974  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 14, 2014, 05:24:32 AM
We fad to add limitations for 110V for FCC compliance.
Since we are open source SW you can of course override FCC compliance at your responsibility.
I will post the guidelines on how to do that (at your responsibility) in a couple of days (we have the Passover tomorrow).

Is this only an RFI issue or could the higher current draw also be a safety issue?

It's a safety issue. We won't post such guidelines to comply with the regulations.
Under 110V, the miner is designed to give a bit less than 1.4 TH/s with ~0.8 W/Gh/s ratio.
Well within the published 1.4 TH/s +- 10% in our web site.

Since we open source everything, you may select to change the firmware yourself, but it will void the warranty and we can't take responsibility for it.

Guy

To clarify, i never change/modify the firmware. All my SP10s come with 1.2.7 which doesnt have the power limit.

Anyway, i'm having 240v wires setup next week. Which was my plan anyway, since 240v is more efficient .
975  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup & Review on: April 14, 2014, 04:00:18 AM
I need help!. After followed instruction to revert the FW, the performance stayed the same. So i switched it to Turbo mode to see if it changes anything, now Miner_Gate and CGminer dont even run. I tried reboot, factory reset....nothing.

It keeps saying waiting for pool connection but thats not right (also after factory reset)

Can someone help?

Asic_stats shows blank as MinerGate doesnt run.

EDIT: So i upgraded it back to 1.2.32 and it still didnt mine
I checked the miner physically and noticed amber led blinking on the back of PSU. I quickly power cycle the miner and now it runs again. I'm back to 1.2.32 tho. I wont revert the FW this time because it didnt fix the performance. It seems the power limit stuck even after i reverted it back to 1.2.7

I'm not touching it until Zvi's response.

976  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 14, 2014, 02:46:55 AM
All joking aside, the latest firmware works fine with mine.

Do you have a 1.2.32 version, or anything below that?
I'm using 1.2.32, and I'm on 240V

Heheh i found my problem Cheesy
977  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 14, 2014, 02:35:33 AM

I just got the 1.2.31 FW. Same result, so its not CGminer then.

I have several SP10s. So i can compare them. The 1.2.7 clearly gives me higher hashrate: 1.39TH/s

This particular SP10 was running at 1.41THs b4 i upgraded the FW.

Do you have per chance a 110V socket?

Also, please contact zvi@spondoolies-tech.com for further diagnostics.

Thanks!

I just emailed Zvi thro his gmail acct. Thanks
978  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 14, 2014, 02:34:46 AM
If you update now you will get version 1.2.31, that has older cgminer.
It will always notify you of "availible FW upgrade", just ignore it (if you update you will get 1.2.31 again).

Please let us know if 1.2.31 has the same performance problem like 1.2.32.
Also, are there people here that manage to run 1.2.32 without problems except myself?

I just got the 1.2.31 FW. Same result, so its not CGminer then.
Yay I'm not to blame.

All joking aside, the latest firmware works fine with mine.

Are you sure you're not having pool issues and the drop in hashrate isn't sheer coincidence? A few pools have had all sorts of problems of late.

I'm sure its not the pool. I'm running multiple SP10s on the same pool from the same connection.
979  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 14, 2014, 01:45:49 AM
For new Spondoolies miners, what firmware does yours come with?
Please let us know about your Hashrate and what mode you're running.

Beware of the latest FW 1.2.32. I upgraded from 1.2.7 and my hashrate is quite lower (below 1.3THs, even in Turbo mode). I hope someone from Spondoolies can explain and provide instruction of rolling back the FW.

Hi all
Looks like we will have to test 1.2.32 again.

Because it's late night here we will do quick rollback in FW upgrade server.

I think this is the limitation by the new FW. Did you change the threshold setting  from 1.2.7?

Please let user to choose the FW version to flash.

Edit: since the FW selection feature wont be available in short time, can you revert the FW to 1.2.15 as the reviewed one? I want to try it right now. I will update right after.

980  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup & Review on: April 14, 2014, 01:36:15 AM
btw, how do i reverse the firmware?

Can someone from Spondoolies explain?

I want the FW 1.2.7 back so bad right now

Please upgrade now once, we have temporary reverted the firmware version (it will notify you about available update again, though it's enough to do it once).
I'm upgrading now..

Is it possible to let user choose FW version to use ?

I have several SP10s, so i can do comparison of both hashrate and power consumptions.

Edit: Got FW 1.2.31, same result. Normal mode + 1250w : 1.28TH/s 1.24-1.28TH/s

Compare it to another SP10 running 1.2.7, both use same CGminer version 3.12.3 : 1.39THs

So CGminer has no effect.
