961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is launching a new project during bear market a good idea?? 🤔 on: March 10, 2023, 01:59:53 AM
FireDAO is a social DAO project based on PID and FID soul-bound accounts, and it's initiated and established by the RainbowCity Foundation. I'm one of the project team member and would like to gather more ideas from everyone in Bitcointalk forum.

I've seen alot of projects did so well during the bull market, but now I'm wondering is bear market will affect the progress of a new project...
as far as i know, during a bear market, a lot of people hold their assets. some people try to take advantage of the moment that occurs, such as buying coins at a low price or trying to go short. So, when trying to launch a new project, chances are that not too many investors will come in, because there is a lot of FUD going on, given the fact that market conditions are down. in addition, launched coins can have very low prices. most likely the price can make the launch of a new project fail. this is my view. mostly I also see that new projects will be launched when the market has started to recover or go up.
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will accepting cryptocurrency as a payment be profitable for business? on: March 09, 2023, 12:21:11 PM
This will be beneficial if you really want to expand your business in an international network. however, whether it will increase the profit you have, it depends on how you advertise the business you have, and how you develop it. broadly speaking, by accepting bitcoin as an alternative to payment from the business you are running, you are expanding the market you want to reach and this will attract bitcoin users to buy your product if they are interested. it's just that, profit or not, it depends on how you manage everything.
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused. on: March 09, 2023, 08:06:36 AM
in my country, cases like this are very much. they only know that bitcoin is forex trading or gambling. they don't even look into it and then assume that something is wrong. it may indeed seem trivial. however, for people like me, it's annoying. in fact, they always think that increasing money with bitcoin requires a lot of money, and what's more disturbing is, so many people get scammed from sites that promise very large percentages of profits within 1 month, and the payment uses bitcoin. they always blame bitcoin for the scam. however, education is indeed very important to make people understand bitcoin. however, people sometimes put up something bad and associate it with bitcoin, like that tv show.
964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you think second if crypto without internets? Impossible right. on: March 09, 2023, 03:51:10 AM
so far, digital transactions require the internet, especially for crypto users, the internet is something that is required. sending bitcoins from wallet to wallet requires an internet network, and viewing transactions also require the internet. in fact, if it could be done without the internet, it might be very difficult to use, and maybe the development would slow down and tend to drop.
965  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value till 2033? on: March 07, 2023, 02:26:38 PM
no one knows what the price of bitcoin will be in 2033. a lot of people will be speculating, but it is likely to be very difficult if not impossible to determine what the exact price will be. we don't know what information will be in the future regarding bitcoin, good or bad. it will determine the price of bitcoin in the future.
We hope that the bitcoin price will get really high at that time. however, it is only a hope that is still very far from speculation. if we look at the history of bitcoin, when bitcoin halving, sometimes it will push the price higher. but we'll never know if it will still have the same effect. Besides that, if you read Cointelegraph a lot, even you will see the speculation of bitcoin price going up and down that is uncertain even in the near future, it will be even more unclear if we are talking about 2033.
966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Education is the key but knowledge is padlock on: March 07, 2023, 09:08:19 AM
it hurts when people you trust to deceive and use you for their interests. however, don't trust anyone when it comes to money. moreover giving access to the investment place that you have. Since I've known crypto, people have always advocated keeping your private keys as good as possible and not telling anyone other than the people you really trust. however, it doesn't apply when you don't have a good reason to give it access to your wallet.
So far, I also have several friends who use crypto, but among us, none of us know each other's private keys. it's like a bank account if in the real world. give access to another person, then he is free to use it.
however, it has already happened. all you can do is learn from it. not everyone can be trusted, even when he teaches you something useful. but we must respect it. besides that, we also need to do our own research about what we do, especially when it comes to money.
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: March 07, 2023, 06:26:17 AM
According to some estimations, there are around 420 million crypto currency users over the world, which equals to nearly 0.06% of the world population. Thus, we can't expect all people to know about Bitcoin and crypto. I know this percentage could differ from one country to another, but the result is the same everywhere. Not all people know about crypto. That might look strange to us as we have been in crypto for years and got used to it. However, Bitcoin still has a long path and some hurdles to overcome before it becomes a global currency.
well, even based on the video, we know that there are still very many teenagers who don't know what bitcoin is. some people in my city also even think that bitcoin tends to be with games, gambling, or even MLM.
However, with this, it can be concluded that education about bitcoin is still very little. I read in several online media saying that several cities or countries are currently providing education about blockchain, especially bitcoin, and altcoins. they include it in their course curriculum. this is what other countries need to emulate, even when they reject it. there's so much they're going to miss if they don't know that until they grow up.
968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 06, 2023, 03:34:58 PM
If you follow his other comments, you can see him saying that he lost a lot of money investing in Luna and FTX, and now he doesn't have enough money to invest. It means he is selling assets for investment because he believes bitcoin will give him 10x return by 2024. It can be seen that he is having financial difficulties, and this action is not advisable. We all expect bitcoin to increase and hit new ATHs, but no one can be sure, and no one knows when that will happen. So selling assets to invest in bitcoin is not a good idea.
too bad when he lost out on investing in Luna and FTX, then sold his wife's jewelry and bought bitcoin after that. what's bad isn't selling his jewelry or buying his bitcoins, but he's promised a 10x increase, and I think that's going to be very hard to happen, even when the halving happens. In addition, the risk is too great, especially if the jewelry is very important to his wife. there is no guarantee that the bitcoin price will go up that high even if we hope it will.
I'm just assuming that his wife doesn't really understand the risks involved in investing in bitcoin. Well, I hope that the decision is right, and something like this is not recommended to do. It's better to invest little by little than in a hurry.
969  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is for the important things on: March 06, 2023, 02:18:33 PM
Although money plays a significant role in life, it is not always the answer. For example, some people who are wealthy but unhappy due to medical conditions that prevent them from doing what they want or eating what they enjoy, particularly those with diabetes, may have money. Therefore, it is difficult to cure this illness even with your money.
Agree, that money is not everything because rich people with bad medical conditions cannot treat their illnesses even though they are rich but cannot do everything with money, they cannot enjoy their wealth to eat good food and have to reduce their activities to maintain their health. But we must be grateful under any circumstances even though we don't have much money but enough to buy basic food, we have good health without symptoms of disease, so are you grateful for the current condition because money can't change everything.
you are right, and I totally agree with this opinion. We certainly have to be grateful in every condition we have. especially for the health we have. it's just that, even though money isn't everything, we really need it, especially in the conditions mentioned. imagine if we were in that condition, but we didn't have money. it will get worse.
Because of such conditions, there are many people in good health who are trying to make a lot of money but do not think about their health or the environment. all for the sake of achieving their goals and dreams. however, it is something that is not recommended.
Personally, I feel that money is very important. I also try to make my dreams come true, and now I also have several assets because of the effort I put in. however, I also still pay attention to the things that are important to my life. it's probably a better way to use money. we need to put important things first for the use of money.
970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many crypto wallets do you own? on: March 06, 2023, 12:37:47 PM
I was reading about the Luke Dashjr BTC hack and it got me thinking if people have multiple crypto wallets and addresses.

I think having a cold wallet that isn't connected to the internet plus numerous online wallets is a precaution everyone should take.

The benefits being;

- If you are hacked you won't lose all your crypto assets

- If you forget one private key you won't lose all your crypto assets

- Smaller transactions (since your crypto will be dispersed across many wallets) will not draw as much attention thus increasing privacy.

I will be taking these steps in the next few days to give myself peace of mind.

I'm curious if others think I'm being too paranoid or have carried out some of these practices.
the gain you said only happens when we have very many assets. if we don't have many assets, then choosing a hard wallet is the best. So far, I even only have a wallet for bitcoin and for altcoins, I only use MEW or trust wallet depending on the situation. For the rest I keep in CEX for trading or use it as needed instantly.

However, having too many wallets will also make you confused about managing them. if you think you can lose your private key, what if you have multiple wallets, it will be easier to lose one of them. Besides that, many wallets mean many fees. well, people have different ways of storing their assets. but it's better to have a wallet as necessary.
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or altcoin on: March 05, 2023, 06:25:39 PM
I recently made some money through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, and I'm considering using it to purchase some Bitcoin. Only a tiny sum, roughly $800, is involved. What do you suggest doing right now? Purchase some Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency with a promising future.

What replacement coins would you recommend?
This question will come back to you, what exactly do you need? for example, if you want to invest long-term, without doing a lot of research, then bitcoin is a very good choice for that. however, if you want something that has a bigger risk than that, then you can choose an altcoin. actually popular altcoins have risks that are not so different from bitcoin, but if you want a new investment, then the right choice for you is a new altcoin. for $800 you should be able to get a satisfactory amount. it's just that choosing a new altcoin will take a bit of work as you'll need to do extra research in order to find the right altcoin for you.
however, if you don't want to worry too much about research, then bitcoin is a very good choice. personally, for $800, I'd probably go for bitcoin or Ethereum.
972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors so sceptical about Altcoins? on: March 05, 2023, 05:56:27 PM
Currently, there are lots of altcoins being developed, and among the many altcoins being developed, there are very many that have become scams. People doubt and ask about an altcoin in public for many reasons. some reason that it is

  • Too many altcoin projects have become a scam
  • They don't know how to research potential altcoins or are unsure of their analysis and need someone else's opinion
  • They are afraid that the project they have chosen will only run temporarily, after which it will be abandoned
  • There are so many projects that look promising, but sometimes don't have clear information
  • And others

actually, it is highly recommended that people to only choose altcoins that are popular or are in the top 10 of CMC. however, as you said new altcoins sometimes have higher volatility than popular bitcoin or altcoin prices, as well as lower prices.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tournament gave 25 bitcoins as prize to last places on: March 05, 2023, 08:30:08 AM
If anyone curious with the original thread of the tournament, here's the link https://tl.net/forum/bw-tournaments/190866-aov-iccup-starleague

The winners who get 5th to 8th places are Kolll, Sziky, Heme and DeSka, those 25 Bitcoins are worth for $41.75 which is make sense 25 Bitcoins are appropriate reward for 5th to 8th places https://liquipedia.net/starcraft/AoV_iCCup_StarLeague

Anyway I don't find any information if they've sold their coins or not, but I believe they're either sell or lost the private keys because they're high likely only know the games and don't care with Bitcoin.
Well, after seeing this tournament, I think the people who got 5th to 8th place will rethink where bitcoin is, and wish they hadn't sold it then until now.
I hope that among them, there are those who don't care about the prize but at that time and still keep the private keys they have. If they forget the private keys, then they will definitely think hard about it  Grin
974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did they not know about the importance of Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2023, 02:40:33 PM
Whatever the reason they sell Bitcoin at a low price, it's because of the situation at that time Bitcoin is not yet famous, and they sacrifice the assets they have to make Bitcoin popular and have high prices at this time. Sometimes, in the world of technology, sacrifice is also needed to make it develop. However, they are legends, if people find out about the history of Bitcoin, then history will bring them to their story. I really appreciate them.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you planning to accumulate for 2025 on: March 04, 2023, 12:24:59 PM
We've got an opposite belief with Metaverse but with AI, I guess we're just a few steps closer until it's gonna be a trend in the market. We'll get to know that soon and maybe get a glimpse of it next year.
But other than that, I am making sure that I get bitcoin other than any other alts and after bitcoin, I get the top ones like ETH and BNB. Yeah, I'm just rotating with those two as of the moment and not going far with random lottery altcoins that someone might think of having tremendous gains. I want to have that type of gain but I'm going with the slowly but surely strategy on this market.
personally, I also thought the same thing. I might prefer assets like bitcoin, Ethereum, and BNB to hold for the long term and prepare for 2025. Even though the metaverse and AI are really very interesting to watch, I don't want to miss any more moments. However, right now I'm even focusing on collecting these 3 types of crypto. maybe other coins also have great potential, but if a bull run does happen that year then bitcoin, Ethereum, and BNB will be the first to go up very high.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: March 03, 2023, 03:34:56 PM
Airdrop is outdated, since 2018 I have not seen a good airdrop campaign that paid good amount for money,  99% of the projects failed to pay and the few that paid are in few dollars, around, 1$ to 10$,  this was what I've seen in past airdrops I joined. The best way to earn free tokens from new projects right now is through testnet, today,  many new projects are still looking for testers and I have joined many, like Arbitrum, Shardeum,  zksync, and a few others, I believe that testnet is worth anybody's time than airdrops.
For now, the airdrop is indeed very difficult to make money. Personally, I haven't been looking for an airdrop for a long time. In fact, even today's airdrop is quite difficult to generate $ 1 or even $ 10 for each project worked on. some people said that among the many airdrops he worked on, only a few paid, and among the results of the payment, almost all of them had no price.

In previous years, there were still quite a lot of people looking to profit from airdrops. like doing a lot of airdrops, and maybe only a few pay, but from that little, it can be quite a lot of results. however, this year it seems that it has become even more difficult. I prefer to make money from the way you suggest, or maybe by learning trading or staking. from the various opinions that I get, currently working on airdrops just spends time.
977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first investment for Bitcoin on: March 03, 2023, 01:16:29 PM
that is one pretty good step towards a promising career. there are so many people out there who spend their money on something short. however, you have enough good thinking to start a career in this field. After this, you need to learn more about investing, or trading if you're interested.
If I look back at where I started it all, I also started by investing and looking for airdrops to add to the assets I have on the internet. However, what you need to do right now is to increase the number of bitcoins you have little by little. You can do this by saving and buying bitcoins, trading, or trying to find jobs on the internet that pay you using crypto.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the future of bitcoin without powerful nations? on: March 03, 2023, 08:00:39 AM
Bitcoin will survive even though many countries do not accept bitcoin. the meaning of decentralization itself is not controlled by anyone. So, even when the most powerful nations reject bitcoin, it will survive. however, it may still have an effect on the bitcoin price.
From the question you gave, if we look at the current situation, many people are adapting to bitcoin. they started to learn to accept it, as well as accept bitcoins for their business. so, i think the future of bitcoin is going to be very good.
Countries or people do not have complete control over the price of bitcoin. they might be able to make the price fall, but I don't think it will take long, because bitcoin price movements occur because of the needs and demands that exist in the community.
979  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: March 02, 2023, 01:37:39 PM
Since the year started with a good results by moving from $20k to $24k this year, show that the price of BTC and crypto will move higher to satisfy investors soon. Now that the month is moving faster and investors need to think faster so that they will not miss their reward at the end of the year. The price of BTC just drop down to $22k few days ago, which is another opportunity for those that missed last year not to invest in a stable coins to do it now because, the price of BTC will surely reach $80k before the end of this year 2023.
Are you sure investors will experience $80 this year?
the price of $80k is the new ATH for bitcoin, and it is not easy to achieve at the moment. if we look at when the bitcoin price reaches a high price and reaches its ATH in 2021, it is supported by many factors. however, it was not long before too much FUD and negative information pushed the bitcoin price down.

However, the start of the year has provided some pretty good price action and is encouraging. the price is gradually returning closer to $30k making us quite optimistic about seeing another high price this year. But, I think the $80k price tag is still a long way to go. Indeed, anything can happen in the crypto world, especially the bitcoin price.  But my suggestion is don't get your hopes too high. this might happen if technological developments this year support bitcoin, especially if many whale investors invest in bitcoin. but, even if it reaches $50k, it's a very good achievement for the year.
