We still haven't announced the exact block when the snapshot will happen. The snapshot and swap will both happen before we distribute the coins, so within 2 weeks. We will give an official update as soon as the exact timeline is decided. |

Timeline
After ICO we can calculate the exchange rate, and it will help everyone to make the choice between BTC and KMD payout.
Two days after the ICO end, the final sheet of eligibility will be ready. From that sheet you can check that your information is correct, and the payment amount is correct.
Then we will start collecting the preferred payment method info, and BTC/KMD addresses. More info will come at that day. Collecting the payment info of 250 participants will take some time.
We will send out the payments (also BTC) about the same time we distribute the KMD to investors. That will happen ~2 weeks after the ICO.

--> Submit your payment method
--> Expect to get your payment ~2 weeks after the ICO

You should get a pretty good picture with our ICO calculator though. Our ICO is still going on, you can't trade it yet. I went through the Komodo white paper, the concept looks good, and notory concept is ok as per dPoS, however the central question is really how BTC will allow you to send your transaction to their blockchain? Certainly they can't allow this, otherwise X coin, Y coin all can do the same, which will mess up BTC chain. Without it, the Komodo will be nothing new, it will be a plain PoW or PoS coin.
Maybe dev can provide some more details how you can get to Bitcoin's blockchain?
I have spent a lot of time to use totally standard transactions: https://blockchain.info/address/1P3rU1Nk1pmc2BiWC8dEy9bZa1ZbMp5jfgIf these are made illegal, a large number of other transactions will become illegal and I really doubt dPoW represents any danger to BTC, in fact it leverages BTC and helps BTC. Thanks for the reply. While you can make transactions conforming BTC's protocol, if they keep accepting these, the already huge BTC blockchain will become even bigger, I can't imagine how they could allow that (remember Komodo will not be the only one). It's a great concept to use it, but at some point they will have to stop it, unless you will convince them to make it like Ethereum, with sidechains etc trying to cover the whole world. In that case, maybe yes, but they'll have to change big their structure. Hi! Actually very likely Komodo will be the only one to do notarizations to Bitcoin blockchain! Other blockchains will send the transactions to Komodo's blockchain, and through the linkage they will get Bitcoin level security. On our roadmap we are also looking to solve the scalability issues. Thanks OP for this lovely information and I really love your level of maturity. However, I would like to know if it ok if I remove Komodo signature code/avatar after the end of the ICO. Since, it was once said on the OP page that the campaign will last until the 20th of November. Yes, the signatures can be removed when our campaign ends on November 20th, 3PM UTC. |

Great job with the infographic and gui!
That gui looks really nice. That's being said, can you guys integrate cusom themes later on? For a better answer you would have to ask the GUI team, but I suspect it's not the priority right now. However that would make sense, as we want different coin communities to adopt our wallet. so have you guys contacted some exchanges that will add KMD right after the distribution of ico coins?

Iguana GUI update from boogieman 1. Angular switch is almost done. We will cover it with possible tests ourselves and release. So some bugs are expected to be revealed. 2. The GUI will support 10 more coins in 0.1.2 release. We discovered there are more than 300 btc-compatible coins and there is no problems to add them all, but the icon of a coin. To match the interface look well, it should be slightly adopted. It does not take much time (10-20 mins), but multiply 300 X 20 mins = 100 hours = 2,5 weeks. That’s why we decided to make up quickly a guide for the coins representatives. We will publish it with the next release on Monday. 3. The mockups for Iguana (Desktop & Mobile) and Non-Iguana (Desktop) are being steadily upgraded and added with elements for new features. As we are trying to create an ultimately universal UI which fits all screens resolutions (the reason I explained in the last update) it takes some time to find a one-size-fits-all solution. But that is worth it because soon we gonna experience it on the chrome app. 4. Next week we gonna busy with Chrome app installer and fixing bugs after 0.1.2 release. Release notes will be posted on the GitHub repo as usual.  |

This is such a trap for BTCD holders. No buy support and all I want is to GTF out of this KMD swap.... what a joke. I dont want KMD and I'm stuck with BTCD or have to sell so cheap its a total fucking disaster. Sorry for all who invested. The price is going to tank like Steem after it hits exchanges. I just hope I can recover some of my initial BTC investment into BTCD waaay back when.
Is there going to be buy support wall for those who want out? I sure hope so.
i dont get it. You get a better price then during the ico and (maybe) a final and working Plattform at the end. Selling now doesnt make much sense to me. In case the unsold Komodo Coins getting burned this becomes rare af too. Could be a Gem in the future. We distribute all 90M komodo coins to our investors (90 %), no coins get burned. You can use the ICO calculator to speculate how much KMD you will receive. The KMD/BTC exchange rate can be calculated on Sunday after the ICO has ended. After Sunday the BTCD is the only way to accumulate more KMD, as it will take at lest 2 weeks before KMD is traded in any exchange. However it could take little longer as we cannot promise any date when the exchanges list KMD. |

just to be clear, the ICO website will allow me to send my BTCD there, for the purposes of the snapshot? I can avoid downloading the BTCD client/blockchain etc?
Yes, that's what we are trying to do Is there a mailing list or something? I tried subscribing to newsletter on the main page and got an error directed to this page https://ico.komodoplatform.comalmostfinished/There will be at least 1-2 weeks notice before snapshot for people to do this? Thanks for notifying us, we will look into it. Apparently the URL is missing some characters. We will notify people about what to do, yes. However if you are going away and don't follow the updates regularly we would advise to move the funds to a local wallet so you don't miss the snapshot. But yes, we will provide more info as soon as we know the details. |
