You two don't understand how the merit system works. 500 alts would have 0 sMerit to give away. :/
I Know.... If I have not misunderstood in the Russian section, if I report a spammer with the "report to moderator" I have a chance to have a reward in Merit. From here, if I create 500 alts to spam and report them with my main account, I will increase my chances of having Merit. @eddie13, 500 is a symbolic number can be even 1, (but more is better for the newbie spam protection timer). I like this idea because I personaly report many messagges but it easy exploitable. I have no doubt about the goodness of the gesture of mod but I know the human tendency to turn the rules for a personal profit. |

E' un peccato però che il forum italiano venga penalizzato in questo modo.... ovviamente alla lunga ne risentirebbe la qualità di tutta la sezione "spingendo" gli utenti a postare sulla sezione internazionale e via via allontanandosi da questa.... sarebbe forse interessante far gestire i merit a parecchi utenti "legendary o hero".
Il problema è che devono fare apply e quasi nessuno l'ha fatta. |

Merit is not a good moderating reward in my opinion cause people can make 500 alts and boost reports on the main account  |

I think it will go up again soon around 1k, still under the all time high but it was a pumped market that one. I think is really hard it goes to 400.

Why not then make a new additional rank for example : Bounty Manager, like the Copper Member. So only those ranked ones will be allowed to post in the bounty section.
There should be a procedure to apply for such position, based on different criteria,maybe same as the Merit sources today.
This will reduce the fake and scam projects and the spam too. Of course it makes everything more centralized.
I guess is too much time and work implementing those changes, and it will be easier just to remove the bounty section but, it's all about compromises.
Now that we have the merit system just limit the section to members+ and copper members is already a great solution to avoid the mass spam abusing on bounties. THE SCAMMER Guinness world record on bitcointalk 1 man 1000 accounts 150k+ usd! |

I can only say that means the system works. Abusers get caught, legit users are scarce. But that was to be expected.
I'm especially suspicious if people got exactly 100 or 250 merit in a few bit chunks, and then stopped receiving anything. That most likely means they traded to fill their exact needs.
Yes is working great but we (as forum in this cause, you DT members) need to be more strict to punish abusers. Also maybe we need to add/change some sources? This month we have less sMerit distribuited than sMerit generated.  |

If you want to be a merit source:
1. Be a somewhat established member. I am not clear about this point, for be a merit source there is need any rank requirement ? Like hero or legendary? Or any rank can be merit source? What does actually mean established member's? Sorry for that question. I am not clear that matter that's why I ask. As far as I know any rank can ask for to be a source, we have no rank limitation BUT, until now the majority of sources are members with legendary rank. I saw 2 sources with rank of full member. |

NO. Merit is very good system and needs only some adjustments on sources and maybe on merit/ranks now that airdrop is almost gone.

Non penso, sarebbe anche difficile ( ma non impossibile) capire a chi darli con tutti gli abusi che ci sono stati.
Semplice. Basta decidere di taggarli. Ora siamo in un momento "storico" vengono dati meno merit di quelli generati dalle sources  |
