9701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling Investments on: January 10, 2018, 06:19:54 PM
2.5% a month compounds to 34% a year   1.025^12=

Would the current investments by this scheme relate to something like the HeroCoin token or Herosphere.gg operation (or similar economies) or is that too far out from the original bitcoin related investments.   I dont think it gives a yield yet only speculative properties on its future operations.   I will have to go back and read each of the investments note to find out how this investment meta changed like I might read Warren Buffets annual note, crypto moves a bit faster I guess :p
9702  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: January 10, 2018, 04:26:30 PM
From ones Ive been offered a cash debit card would likely put all transactions into one monthly bill but thats apparently not one of those

Yep, adding SegWit receiving addresses to Mycelium would definitely help people save some on fees.

ain't gonna happen by the looks of things. i really wish it would. going forward this will be the number one reason people move on, albeit reluctantly.

Is it an overly involved process to add in such a feature because transaction fees is probably the number one decline in usage for wallets overall, Mycelium included.   Seems like there is no easy solution, success breeds its own problems.    Thats a true economy and a test of its longevity is finding a way :/
9703  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 4 Year warranty Antminer S9 - $42 from Amazon - will they honor it? on: January 10, 2018, 03:46:05 PM
I could state the obvious which is the insurance cost of these items often exceeds the worth of that item in four years.   The terms here are most important, I doubt they will give the cash cost of the item only that they will replace that item with one of equivalent power.   Insurance often does not serve to give any upgrade in its coverage only replacement of loss.

9704  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 10, 2018, 03:04:30 AM
The ignorace on this forum is incredible, the marketcap is still at 730bill. So the bitcoin isnt going nowhere... it was at the same price when it was 600bill.

So stop panicking noobs.

This is in itself a warning signal.   When numbers are large people panic but the percentage movements are not any more of a problem.     Also its not the market movement which is the basis of any disturbance its the transaction fees which are likely leading to unstable pricing as people are required to move 5 figure sums every time to keep % costs lower.

If they would just see sense and allow in every type, size and shape of participant into bitcoin trading and exchange then we'd have a calming influence.   This isnt idealism, this is a requirement for a functioning economy to continue.

Efficency always will lead to destruction in economy, it either benefits participants with lower costs or it rips chunks off until a greater more stable exchange can be found.   Im sure its been this way for hundreds of years, force or stranglehold by certain parts of the network cannot overcome market forces, we'll all lose out.

Right now the price is finding a ceiling similar to January start, its a fairly valid trend going to even spring last year.   Its wavering back and forth, not especially bearish but it does seem quite likely 13,073 would be required as a backstop at some point.   Its a large gap but so was the leg up, how it reacts in speed and volume is really more important, 15,500 and 15,713 continues to be the speedbumps overhead.
9705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Turning my 50 USD into 25,000 USD? on: January 10, 2018, 02:57:50 AM
Okay, I know this sounds impossible but it'll look like this:

Put 50 bucks on a x5 coin on short term sell when the investment hits  250 USD

Long term HODL your 250 buck on a x100 coin (better if U find a newly dumped ICO)

 Take your 25,000 and enjoy!

Is this a possible strategy guys?

Big gains are possible but also improbable especially accounting for human nature.    When the figures get big you are more likely to trip yourself up, the idea of do nothing I agree is your most likely chance of success but thats also similar to buying a lottery ticket and hoping, its not generally productive.

I'll repeat what I've heard professional traders say which is to handle it one deal at a time.   So you are very ambitious in wanting 10x appreciation, thats your first target.     If you ever achieved this you should take back your original stake, the likelyhood of not losing out at some point is too great not to do this and ensures you never reset to zero.
9706  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think bitcoin redistributes wealth or just makes the wealthy richer? on: January 10, 2018, 02:48:28 AM
Its pretty obvious right now Bitcoin has become a speculative vehicle with high entry fees to participate.    Its reinforcing wealth and the general FIAT system right now.    Previously with low transaction fees it allowed transfer of value between people who otherwise would be isolated and unable due to poor access to the banking and finance fields but now we are right back to square one.

Bitcoin is elitist Im sorry to say, I hope this is seen as a negative but not everyone respects capitalism and the simple origins of free trade.  I see sucess with a wider world able to access Bitcoin and I'd love to quote some important Dev on wanting similar but Im not sure we will go that way.    Crypto overall will find a way, I think there is still free enterprise out there but its a long and winding bumpy clifftop road till balance comes to economies worldwide including online global transfer trade.
9707  Economy / Services / Re: ♠ BETCOIN.AG ♠ Fixed Signature Campaign - Monthly Payments - No Free Spots ♠ on: January 10, 2018, 01:42:31 AM
The transaction fees are stupidly high everywhere I can confirm, unfortunately thats become normal and a reason why bitcoin has forks being bought in and used instead.   This isnt news, Im not sure why its a problem to use a different coin and exchange it back to btc if you need.   I guess the company should also offer to pay into a private wallet address as well now, since the user can self determine their fee and speed there, that makes sense.
9708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Trading Gambling? on: January 10, 2018, 01:30:54 AM
Bitcoin Trading isn't Gambling but Buying Bitcoin is “gambling”, in the sense that its an investment that could price crash at any time.

The price of dollar can crash at any time, hate to break it to you but there is 40 trillion in debt across various countries that use dollars.   The US gov itself cannot repay that debt if its called on and in recent years they have made most debt short term in order to reduce its cost.     So matters can change rapidly.

A gamble or a risk is mostly decided by if the risk is reasonable.    If you are trading bitcoin value that you do not own yourself then its a gamble.   If just using bitcoin in a practical way then its just a normal risk which is attached to everything, dollar, bitcoin even an exchange in gold has some risk.
9709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: TurboMiner - announcing new NextGen Ethereum GPU miner for Linux on: January 08, 2018, 10:19:57 PM
I'm interested to see what temps, power usage and hashing people get with this on Vega and rx480.   If anyone gets a chance to test it would be good to see, I think so far the first released windows blockchain drivers have been best for Ethereum at least.
9710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Vega 56 64 Frontier Mining Hashrate & Setup ? 3 Month ROI or less? on: January 08, 2018, 09:40:42 PM
The mid range cards are probably doing better when including cost of the card and cost of elec.   The reasonably best ETH MH I saw for Vega was 47 but I imagine others have got higher?

Vega doesnt have to run hot if it undervolts well, that varys but alot can go much lower then anything stock indicates initially.   XMR appears the most profitable but ETH is very bullish crypto for a while now.
9711  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2018, 09:58:13 AM
Sea of red, have you traded crypto before today.    This is a muddy puddle.   My overall take on Bitcoin at least is a bullish pattern with pullback to some support.   It can develop further negatively but thats not apparent yet.

15200 is a long term bullish trend line.   It was recently seen to be a rough ceiling at end of last week.    Maybe more important is 15,713 as a fib line.  This is the same price that marked support after the ATH 19k and pullback so marks strength now, in significant terms the next rung down would be 13,073.  The gaps are so large because the rate of change was so rapid, thats volatility its uneven seas but par for the course.
9712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin gambling is legal? on: January 08, 2018, 09:50:11 AM
I dont see how Bitcoin gambling can be excluded when its not officially money except arbitrary worth decided by every person.   The only logical objection is like perfect999 says if gambling itself is outlawed in any situation no matter the value.

If I want to sit in my home and gamble matchsticks then I will.    How much value my friends place on the count of matchsticks is our business really.   If you need to start a fire, it could be an invaluable asset or it could just be a stick of wood.  Supply and demand is a part of freedom for all, USSR found this was required after all.
9713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sharing my CS:GO bets! [0/0] Profit: +/- on: January 08, 2018, 09:43:28 AM
Counter strike is a big game, alot more then just teenage market.   The game has been around since 1999 so its hardly going to contain just teenage boys, some of them werent alive when it was first made.

CS itself is actually really hard to judge, I find the most predictable bets would be at a major where strategy comes into play.    Online play introduces random factors and players at home who may or may not be ready to actually play fully to their best ability at that moment.
Also not all online matches always count especially, it depends where they are in the league.

I've been betting since C9 nearly beat NIP at cologne in 2014, not sure they ever did as well as that.   Nip then won the major, not been as good since either.   I havent bet as much recently, waiting for a good site to appear and some were restricted by country.
9714  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 07, 2018, 06:09:03 PM
The Problem is, i did the Claim online in 12 April 17. Till now i got zero Mails.

I think my Claim got lost in the Internet or they deleted it immediately...

I just wrote an E-Mail to them again with all the documents i already sent them on 12 April.

But iam sure they wont reply....

You should have at least received an email saying your claim was declined. If the size of your claim is worth it I would send more emails, letters and also call if you can find a phone number.

Is claiming for USA citizens basically.  I dont have a large amount on cryptsy in the end anyway

In the last days a few coins allowed withdrawals and I transferred value to BLK and took the hit with a bad exchange rate and spread.   I then resolved to always keep the BLK as I guessed it would recover value.   It has done that especially recently its risen so I probably have got back when I lost from all the various coins I didnt get out.

I do not remember TEK sorry
9715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: January 07, 2018, 05:47:02 PM
Invest bro.
For quick $, go to an ICO.

Ez money ez life lool

That doesnt sound like investment, closer to gambling but without any fixed rules or established company to deposit with.     I think ICO could be worse returns then roulette dont you think ?   Depends on the quality of course and thats personal judgement.

The ironic thing here is gambling could be the safer choice.   People dont even use escrow on startups quite often which is a dangerous gamble on the trust of that persons idea.
9716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BLK/BC) | PoS | No ICO on: January 07, 2018, 06:32:38 AM
Nobody needs a large amount of BLK to stake as I understand it, it just increases the odds of being 'chosen'    I dont think the largest wallets would squeeze anyone out completely, its not that kind of race.  Basically what happens is the age or time since you last staked helps count in your favour.   So someone with a small amount but who hasnt staked in a while will eventually get lucky.   Its more a queue like system, nobody on the network is excluded.

Obviously read FAQ yourself etc

How many BLK-coins u need to "mine" with PoS?
more than 1
better 10k
Why is it since the new wallet staking has been crap..for me?
47k staking and I received six (6) coins for all of 2017, very weak imo 8(
Maybe 4x higher as a guess, does depend how many are using their wallets over exchange holdings.   I have noticed a positive trend in BLK interest, would be a positive overall if more people used wallets.   Anyone following that stat?
The arrow in the bottom right corner must be solid black to be a good stake.  Mine was clear just then and its flicked on now, sometimes takes a min?

Another fire hazard is dust, dont let any dust build up near to a bunch of hot cards or it will possibly provide fuel for some damage to occur.   Get out the hoover if need be.    I dont know about interference especially but some kind of cheap faraday cage around the setup might be an easy solution.

everything else is horribly expensive save electricity ($0.04kWh) and electronics

I missed where is the electricity this cheap, you pay bulk rates I take it ?   solar or hydro power would be ideal but theres setup costs to it
9718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC getting too expensive to gamble with on: January 05, 2018, 07:23:50 PM
Bitcoin price doesnt even matter, thats not how any economy works.  Success should not mean a discouragement to use this now valuable asset, thats so wrong.    Im certain the people who change the Bitcoin protocol will fix fees eventually, because I doubt these people are stupid enough to believe the world contains a majority who will accept 30 dollars just to transmit a bit of value.

Satoshi put in alot of fail safes in his crypto work and one is open source competition.    They will not be able to stop the blockchain by over charging for fees because now its too successful, that is such nonsense.  Im confident efficiency is the centre of every true sucess story and BTC will never be too expensive because they will allow the smallest amounts to transmit safely without great cost.  It will happen, too many people want it that way and are able to make it so.

This is a caterpillar and butterfly situation, it will develop even if its an ugly looking git of a show right now
9719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why people are sharing tips? on: January 05, 2018, 07:06:41 PM
So, I'm sure many of you have seen tipsters on this section, in your Twitter, in chatrooms and some other places - it's the people who suggest you to place bets on certain picks in sports. And maybe some of you have asked yourself a question - why they are doing it? Why they are giving us advises how to win money absolutely for free - and by doing this they decrease their own profit, since the winning pool grows bigger as people follow their tips. Can anyone explain this?

Easy answer really is there no sure tip.    My own self interest in sharing my tip is that someone might also give honest feedback or at least insult my poor choice correctly, say you are totally wrong and point how I have assumed something incorrect.    Then I save some money, of course thats the ideal and there is a ton of noise and fan logic!

Part of why people post a tip or just their bet is to confirm they are certain in their thinking.

Scientifically, when one makes things happen, some grandiose feelings set in. You feel you are the boss, and that you are in control and this phenomenon subconsciously helps you to win more by making better predictions. So as you give more tips and you help people win, you also get motivated to make more better predictions the next time.

Yes I agree.  Also just the simple form of writing down readible text for others, its a form of revision.   Juggle everything in your head and you can take silly risks, writing things down kinda alters matters
9720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Frustrations: Losing Streak on: January 05, 2018, 07:01:40 PM
When you dont win the game just change the game I think.   Come back another time, if you never win at that game then probably best to avoid because that really doesnt sound like fun to me.     I'd only play small on any new game for this reason and stay regular betting on a game I know I can sometimes get a good result on Smiley     My biggest loss is not the streak but when I was kidding myself that the odds were good for a win, stick to what works for you
