What are folks planning on doing with themselves if there are months of sideways movements? Will you dabble in altcoins? Start a Bitcoin business? Drive yourself to despair trying to trade a $700-850 gap or just set an alarm for when there's an explosion?
I've realised that excitement in either direction is what's keeping me here more than financial gains, not that they're to be sniffed at.
draw crazy charts, post them, and be the only one loling....

Sure is slow lately =/
its the calm b4 the storm. feels like short term trend is reversing, this is a slow process. i think as long as we don't have any bad news confirmed, things are going to get real interesting, real soon. hang in there. the ☁ What does this mean? USD crashes? coin cheapness is going down, and price is going up, this is very bullish + the triangle is breaking + the lightning bolt is also bullish CCFM

had some fun with charts. I want expancive coins. unlikely to happen... if the main triangle breaks up "adam's cheapness indicator" will actually drop toward cheap coins as the price moves up! and if the triangle breaks down, "adam's cheapness indicator" will drop with price no matter what way you look at it, cheap coins ahead!

As others have observed, that was not real trade. It was some robot, probably buggy, frantically selling to itself. It was turned off after 3 hours and ~40,000 BTC traded.
BTC-China should expunge that fake volume from its records. If not, chart makers should do it. In reality BTC-China is still quite dead.
By this criterion 70% of the volume on the NYSE should be expunged from the record. exchanges should make it impossible to fill your own orders. i dont mind bots doing some high frequency trading, but falt out faking volume by trading with yourself...

bears were expecting chinese government to come down hard on chinese exchanges, because the 31st is the date there new law ( unclear laws ) about bitcoin came into effect. so far nothing has happened...

* Goat needs money for lawyers in hookers case and decides to dump all his BTC Step carefully there - don't want a bounty on your head. I'm protected witness in that case, he can't touch me. lawyers in hookers - that requires delicate handling Goat has his own hookers. goat has a loving wife. which means.... he pays top dollar for a 10 min session

So, where is this Jan 31 Chinese apocalypse?
The PBOC has yet to open its big mouth. no news is good news.

new ATH if BTCchina is still processing deposits / withdrawals next week

Can't wait to see BTCChina's volume pick up and hear stories of chinese speculators dumping millions of CNY in bitcoin. The fact the PBOC said exchanges need to register with MIIT essentially means it recognises exchanges as a business category and BTC China as a legitimate business. ... i am confident my company is not doing anything wrong.
I WANT TO BELIEVE

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. newegg should take litecoin (and perhaps namecoin, doge, ppc, etc... ATI is miles ahead in terms of making efficient scrypt miners, and if they went into scrypt asics, they could corner that market, easy) I view alts as a super long shot bet, the way i c it is; ONLY IF bitcoin is truly successful and is used by millions around the world / accepted everywhere, will we begin to see alts accept too, then these alts have a shot at reaching a ALT/BTC that is directly proportional to the amount of coins they are capped at. i'm not sure what you mean by newegg being able to corner the market if they accept LTC.... why would they take LTC when they are sure to make more TXs if they take BTC? thanks to BitPay and service like it, mainstream merchant feel comfortable accepting bitcoin, dose LTC have a trusted payment processor like bitpay? these companies don't want to take risks. and taking bitcoin as payment is perceived as a risk, forgot about talking them into accepting litecoin... that being said, I believe in the long term success of crypto and hold a small speculative position in FTC.

More evidence of how BT China volume could be mostly fake and seriously some of you guys take this fake volume. Someone already confirmed it is fake and due to a couple small bots playing market taker - the volume is since completely gone again. It is still quite something to see though..... It has obviously given the guy in the photo the horn and all (Edit: Kill me now) the volume is gone because poeple are mostly out of cash and done placing the bets, and the seller has no reason to crash the price just yet since there a chance tons of money will come pouring in in the next few days. i guess it could be mostly fake.... it does seem suspect. i like to imagine its for real... and theres more to come. it all comes down to the chinese government will be allowing its poeple to speculate on manipulate bitcoin or not.
