9721  Economy / Speculation / Re: What month of 2016 will btc reach new ATH? on: January 10, 2016, 09:21:31 AM
It's a difficult question as the rise to $1000 will make a lot people sell as soon as we touch that price level. If we can resist this massive selloff, then I think it will either be October or November when we make a new attempt to reach a new ATH.
9722  Economy / Speculation / Re: why I bought on: January 10, 2016, 09:16:11 AM
3k-5k per coin is a huge amount to think for now but it's now unreachable, we hope more (e)commerece will use bitcoin in the near future.

right now this price is far from realistic. but after 4 or 5 years things can look completely different. then we might even see the price go much higher than that. all this is just speculating right now, but the possibility for this to happen is really here.

Why 4 or 5 years. We are going to see 3k levels within this year. The melting stocks in many countries may take bitcoin to any height. Already China is started investing into crypto-currencies, usually other countries will follow trend of first goer.

China has been in crypto for a few years now, it's not that they just found out about it. At this point Chinese investors are being held back by useless policies towards Bitcoin and crypto in general. Currently the majority of the so called Chinese "investors" are small fishes that are looking for a quick buck. We need market movers and not 2-5BTC "investors". Beside that, it's better to wait for the $1000 to be reached again before dreaming about $3K and above.
9723  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your investment portfolio ? on: January 10, 2016, 09:03:36 AM
Bitcoin only.
9724  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening to BTC price? on: January 09, 2016, 01:26:56 PM
The price seems to be slowly trending downwards.
Let us hope it is not going to fall off a cliff.  Smiley

why do you think its down cuz it up slowly over 450 today
yesterday was around 450 now it off

price is on the rise

This dude probably looks at an 48 hour chart of the price and think we are heading down. We are at a very good profit this year. From below $180 in January to right now $450. Not really what I consider to be a downwards trend. Wink
9725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best buy right now is not Bitcoin, it is ALTCOINS on: January 09, 2016, 01:21:16 PM
Ethereum will be the largest blockchain by the end of the year.   Delay investment at your peril.

Largest Blockchain as in the amount of GB in total isn't that big of a deal. Every one can add rubbish to the Blockchain to make it grow in size. It's nothing special.
9726  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Increasing now! Now the price 450$ on: January 09, 2016, 01:17:14 PM
I don't expect much fireworks these days to be honest. I think next week we'll start to see some action in the price again.

Price is getting increase. Its good news for the bitcoin users. Now the price is 450$... Please share your views about upcoming days.
Guilelessly saying, I'm waiting for a price decrease. Lack of bitcoins for me at the moment.

Don't wait. Waiting for the price to go below $400 is like wasting your time. The price may go down a few bucks, but nothing significant. Best time to buy is now.
9727  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the US Stock Market crash this year? on: January 09, 2016, 11:28:20 AM
Stock markets are massively rigged and MUST come down once every x amount of years. If you look at the first wave, then you can see there was a massive sell-off starting at the 120 line, and it went down to just under the 100 line. After that it still peaked to where you have positioned the #1. We might see the same thing happen here.
9728  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: January 09, 2016, 11:20:12 AM
I don't have a real plan, but one of my goals is to try to collect 50BTC in my cold wallets. All this purely by trading profits and not by buying. That's how I minimize my exposure to zero %. What will I do with my coins after reaching 50BTC? I don't know. Tongue
9729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOINS Miracle! Any One Had Such Experience? on: January 09, 2016, 11:15:19 AM
I wish I had some one sending me 0.5BTC to one of my wallets. So far I only have had shitty dust payments sent to my wallets. Angry
9730  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese and german stock market down. Bitcoin up? on: January 09, 2016, 11:08:58 AM
Some people like to believe that, but I think every price increase currently is 90% block halving related. It's pure coincidence that the stock markets are going down while Bitcoin is going up. Bitcoin will continue to go up and the stock markers may fall deeper, which will lead to threads popping up saying Bitcoin goes up because everything else is crashing.
9731  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Bitcoin's journey from $400 to $200,000 will realistically look like. on: January 09, 2016, 11:04:43 AM
BRK.A has 811,129 "active" shares priced at right now $193,900 each.

Bitcoin right now(and will only increase in the future) has 15,061.750 "active" coins priced at right now $447 each.

Difference between just over 800K shares of BH and over 15M shares of Bitcoin is way too big to accomplish the same scenario.
9732  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stable Bitcoin Price on: January 09, 2016, 10:14:52 AM
Never. As long as we have the current shitty exchanges, we won't see the manipulation rates even drop 1%. In order to achieve a more stable price, we need to have one global orderbook just like for example the Nasdaq. That's when we will start to see the difference. If nothing happens and we keep the current exchanges, absolutely nothing will change.

What should have we been saying when we had only Mt. Gox? Smiley I think that our exchanges have improved considerably in the past 2 years! I mean it ain't perfect and it always can be better but this is actually where we have made quite a progress in the past 2 years.

That statement is true to some extent. But now we have Cryptsy stopped trading and withdrawing our money.

You can't compare Bitcoin exchanges as Bitstamp, Bitfinex and so on with a shitty altcoin exchange as Cryptsy. Cryptsy has always been slow, shady and what not. That's not new. It's just that most people have recently seen Cryptsy getting worse and worse.
9733  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: January 09, 2016, 10:05:57 AM
at the moment i have 30 btc now i could sell in the highs and buy gold leaving me with 15 btc.

im starting to think btc wont survive long due being entirely digital the thing could be abandoned or worse internet might go down what you guys think i would look pretty stupid buying something you cant see or hold im torn to shreds right now.

ive listened to max keiser and proffs that bitcoin could be worth tens of thousends i think its the most sensible thing to do "dont put eggs in one basket" on all...

it draws a fine line... i.e. all that electricity to "mine" bitcoins pushing hardware to the max and with exchanges like crypsty and cexio mucking me around i just dont see the future help me realise this what should i do?

30BTC is a more than decent amount to have, especially for the long term. Due to Bitcoin's fully digital nature it doesn't mean it won't survive. At some point in the future the majority of payments around the world will be done digitally by people paying with their smartphones and such.

If you do want to spread your investments, then you surely can do that. 75% invested in Bitcoin and 25% invested in Gold isn't that bad of a spread of investments. I personally would keep all the 30 Bitcoins and keep it offline in a secure manner for the future. But you are free to do what you want.
9734  Economy / Speculation / Re: What moves bitcoin price? on: January 09, 2016, 09:59:49 AM
I am not convinced news is a major mover of price compared to the stock market. Take 2014 as a perfect example...sure, Gox collapsing at the beginning of the year had a major negative effect on the price, but bitcoin companies raised $315 million in VC funding that year.

I think the market is greatly manipulated by bigger players. I think it is only logical an unregulated and volatile market will attract those types.

News isn't moving the Bitcoin price unless it's very bad news. Good news has barely any impact anymore nowadays. Many people think that certain companies/startups who raise millions are good for the price. That isn't the case. None of that money is being invested in Bitcoin as coin. That's why it doesn't have an effect on the price.
9735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Slow block times.... on: January 08, 2016, 10:47:02 AM
Some people still don't understand that blocks might take much longer to be found than 10 minutes. The 10 minute time is just an example for average block times. I some times have to wait 50 minutes for 1 block to be mined, and the next time I only have to wait 20 minutes for 3 blocks to be mined. It can widely vary.
9736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell now and buy again at $1300. on: January 08, 2016, 10:39:25 AM
It's good fun to see that people are commenting very seriously on this thread while OP is just trolling and having a good laugh while reading all posts.
9737  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-01-07] Bitcoin won the 2015 battle of the currencies on: January 08, 2016, 10:30:16 AM
I am sure that Bitcoin will again be the TOP performing currency this year. It's just a matter of time before the institutional investors open their eyes for once and take a step into Bitcoin as it may turn out to be a safe haven while everything else in the world is crashing. And who knows will happen after that, if one or several of these bobo's find Bitcoin interesting enough, they might even bring Bitcoin to another level by having it listed on a real stock exchange as tradable item.
9738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this real? 50 'clean' Bitcoins for 80 'dirty' Bitcoins?? on: January 08, 2016, 10:21:58 AM
No one would do such a thing. Even hackers that have stolen thousands of coins won't be that desperate to use such a service. People can simply mix their coins in a quick fashion without leaving much dust behind. If you want to do it thoroughly, then you can do it in a slow manner and then it will be even harder to track them, if ever.
9739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Prediction 2015 ฿ on: January 08, 2016, 10:06:46 AM
Most people are too optimistic for the price prediction for 2015. Only 14% of people predicted the price within 300-500. 36% thought the price would be over $1k.

There are way to many dreamers here on Bitcointalk. "Bitcoin will reach $1000-$2000 very easily" Yeah, right.... It will take years for that to happen and some people think it's just a matter of a few months. It's either ignorance, or they have been smoking too much.
9740  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $600 during the first month of the new year? on: January 08, 2016, 10:02:30 AM
I predict $ 550 bitcoin will be trading.

$500 to $550 could be a good target to aim for. The price is quite steady for the last two months, within a range of $60.

There is nothing wrong with aiming for a certain price target, but it's is insanely difficult to come even close to $500 at this point. You can compare it in a way to when we were sitting at sub $300 for a very long time. Every attempt that was making the price come close to $300 was immediately crushed down by large dumps. We're basically in the same phase right now.

There are some people that have accumulated a huge load of coins at sub $300 prices, and these guys are unloading their coins from time to time, which makes it very difficult to go up right now.
