9781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: November 12, 2016, 09:05:06 PM
It is sad that people choose 'yes' mostly. For me it is very important to follow the rules government sets, I'm Kantian in this way. Kant said that we mustn't lie or violate the rules even if it seems to be not a big deal, because thus we ruin the basement of all the law system. I know it's already too ruined but I prefer to stick to this rule.
9782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does a President Trump mean for Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2016, 08:55:12 PM
Since the election of Trump to the new US President yesterday, many questions about Bitcoin arise.

Will he promote Bitcoin and make it a breakthrough? Will he even officially ban Bitcoin? Will he make such a bad economic (and monetary) policy that Bitcoin will be seen as an alternative for many?

What do you think, what will a President Trump mean for Bitcoin?
It all depends on what will Trump be like now. Were his populist claims only connected to the aim of being elected or are these his real intentions. If the latter, I think bitcoin might become a part of USA's concern. And check out this group on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Donald-Trump-accepts-Bitcoin-as-the-new-USA-currency-997052920317519/ ! It is not very popular yet but it's cool, I guess.
9783  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you help with bitcoin? on: November 12, 2016, 08:47:23 PM
I think the best would be to make more news on TV about it or create a magazine, dedicated to Bitcoin and interview famous people, make quizzes on the topic with some valuable prices etc. I don't think that investing money in some casinos would be more helpful.
9784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what is definition gambling in your mind? on: November 12, 2016, 08:44:52 PM
I suppose we can't give a perfect definition but gambling is a kind of activity which involves spending money and may lead to addiction. However, I am not sure whether gambling is really an action. Well, you certainly do something when you play poker, for example but is it the same when you just put your money on something in dice? Not sure about that.
9785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: November 12, 2016, 08:40:35 PM
Sure giving up isn't easy. Otherwise, it wouldn't be called a disease. I think that is you want to quit gambling, you have to make some rules for yourself and consider that like a game. So, consider it a game. Set a fixed amount of money you allow yourself to spend on gambling every day. And do your best to pick up something else instead of it. Some sport activity, for instance.
9786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is betting a good choice for a newbie? on: November 11, 2016, 08:11:43 PM
I am earning and collecting bitcoin to bet on sports in future. Will it be a good choice to invest in it betting or other things.Where should i invest my bitcoin to have a long term profit?
You shouldn't start gambling or betting. Come on, I'm sure you know it leads to serious addiction which can be considered as disease. I think investing money is always risky but if you are quite rich you may try investing in one of btc casinos with good reputation. I think they will become even more popular with time than they are now. Or you may try your luck and invest in some other cryptocurrency or even a few of them. I think some currency will become nearly as strong as bitcoin with time.
9787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most precise definition of gambling? on: November 11, 2016, 08:08:02 PM
Gambling comes apparently from Old English gamenian "to play, joke, pun" which is related to our word 'game'. So, we can say that gambling is an act of playing some game involving money. Betting is considered by many to be more reasonable than gambling. For example, when you do sport betting you can (theoretically) analyze the teams, its strategies and chances.
9788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in on a Hillary win bet on: November 11, 2016, 08:03:08 PM
Poor OP. I think it was quite a surprize for lot's of us, so I understand him. That's why we should remember that due to american system of election the one who got less votes can win and that betting is a bad thing even when you feel like it is safe and there is a high probability for you to win. Undecided
9789  Economy / Economics / Re: How many BTC will make you a fiat millionaire in 5 years? on: November 11, 2016, 07:59:05 PM
I guess people on this forum think that nothing changes hugely is they voted for 'more than 1000 mostly'. Well, that seems fair, because we have never seen Bitcoin costing more than 1000 (or a bit more), so why should we think that the price would grow in more than 10 times in 5 years? However, there are big surprizes sometimes and we must remember that we can't infer the future things from present ones, just like Mr.Wittgenstein told us.
9790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just bought Bitcoin from a train ticket machine in Switzerland for a trip abroad on: November 11, 2016, 07:54:45 PM
It's great that Switzerland allows to purchase BTC already. I also heard that you can pay for your municipals using Bitcoin. I wonder why Switzerland is so progressive when USA, Iceland and other countries aren't, although they are strong in things not related to btc.
9791  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: November 11, 2016, 07:47:46 PM
When I read the question first, I didn't think it was about lost private keys. Come on, there are many verifications (phone, email, secret sentence) which help even if you lost the password and stuff. I thought it was about burnt Bitcoins and how many are burnt already is an interesting question. I have seen the news about 2000 BTC approximately, but I am not sure whether we can believe it.
9792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who can tell that when our luck come to us? on: November 10, 2016, 06:37:47 PM
I can tell you that luck never does, because there is no such thing. It is all pure mathematical probability with us giving some prefferences and taking one thing into consideration more than other. It is due to our mythological (partly) way of thinking.
9793  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: November 10, 2016, 06:35:14 PM
Taking into consideration that at 2020 the halving should put bitcoin once again at 1000 dollars, i do believe this will bring a huge mass of investment into bitcoin as well several new bitcoiners.
I think that halving will do the opposite just like it was this year. The price will fall and mining will become even harder, so it won't be a good time for Bitcoin. People may start using it even less then they do now in such a case. Why should halving put btc at 1000 dollars anyway? Because the price will naturally fall and then more people will start buying Bitcoin?
9794  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: November 10, 2016, 06:32:25 PM
I think modern kids are adjusting to new inventions very fast, so there really isn't much of a problem with that. Apart from fast adaptations, they are not familiar with what money should be like, so I don't think there is much difference between paper cash, credit card and bitcoin for them.
9795  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Freedom on: November 10, 2016, 06:28:21 PM
It is not that easy. Yes, bitcoin gives us freedom from banks, governments and stuff. And yet in makes us its slaves in a way. Why? Because we are sort of bond to use it, because it can give us something which other money can't. And yet even if there are some disadvantages of Bitcoin, we tend to forgive them, because it is good in other ways.
9796  Other / Off-topic / Re: How does the world end if bitcoin doesn't exist? on: November 10, 2016, 06:22:57 PM
If Bitcoin never existed we wouldn't be here on this forum and many people who earn money now wouldn't do it this way.
If Bitcoin suddenly dissappeared then a lot of people would lose their money and it would be something like a huge catastrophy.
And yet I think that in both cases something quite the same would've replaced Bitcoin.
9797  Other / Off-topic / Re: How did you first hear about Bitcoin and when did you first buy Bitcoins? on: November 10, 2016, 06:20:14 PM
My father was the one who told me about it but for quite a long time I didn't care about it much, actually. After some time, however, when it grew in price enormously and when I became interested in starting to work and earn money, I started earning them. As for buying, I've never bought any btc yet.
9798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How serious is BTC to you? on: November 10, 2016, 06:17:50 PM
For me it's neither a serious thing for business nor a game. Bitcoin is specific money which increases in amount (in USD) even when you do nothing and that's quite nice about it. However, I use Bitcoin, because it is potentially profitable and because it is easier to earn money in bitcoin than in any other currency.
9799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: November 08, 2016, 07:37:37 PM
I think I am just more optimistic about this stuff. I don't think that there is any good government or so but I think that there is no evil government as well nowadays. So, I don't think we will be ripped by something like this. The danger of cryptocurrencies is different for me. I think about people tanding to idealize the world. We alredy have math and theoretical science which basically idealizes our world and we don't actually notice it. Bitcoin can idealize money. And thus step by step we lose connection to our world which will cause a big crisis eventually.
9800  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do we cross the 1000 USD barrier? on: November 08, 2016, 07:31:59 PM
I think that our train is accelerating slowly and temporarily and we won't see big changes in price in the nearest future. So, I think it won't reach 1000$ this year. Maybe in the middle of 2017. And it is for good, actually, because if the train goes really fast, it eventually hits something and may even explode. We shouldn't forget that.
