981  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Don't send Bitcoins to your Skrill Account on: September 11, 2017, 06:37:09 AM
Hello everybody,

I want to tell you what happened to me when I tried to top up my Skrill balance by using bitcoin.
A few days ago I saw skrill is offering bitcoin as a possible deposit option now, so I gave it a try:

I sent 50€ to my account and everything seemed to be fine. The amount became available after 6 confirmations of the btc transaction and it was added to my "available balance", too. After this I went to a local ATM and tried to cashout 40€ using my skrill prepaid mastercard, without success.. I went to an ATM of another bank but still no cashout possible.. "Using this service isn't possible with your card." I signed in to my Skrill account using my smartphone and checked if everything was okay. I couldn't find any issue so I contacted the Skrill support via email and got the following answer:

Quote
"Bitcoin deposits can be used immediately for transfers to Skrill merchants or transfers to other members. Bitcoin deposits cannot be used for purchases or withdrawals using your Skrill Card. Bitcoin deposits are not refundable. You already got this information when you did the transaction."

If I can't use it with my Skrill Mastercard, why is the deposited amount mixed with the other balance? How can I say that I want to use the amount topped up by bitcoin in a default skrill payment instead of the amount I topped up another way? There's no way to see only the amount which is available for the mastercard?!

I really feel cheated by Skrill and I want to warn other users this way.

Best regards,
juffer

Using a fiat based card service to withdraw your bitcoin is not a great idea. Not only you are risking your money, they generally have higher fees than bitcoin only cards.
982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Ripple is suing R3 on: September 11, 2017, 06:34:34 AM
Ripple Labs Inc and R3 Hondco LLC filed lawsuits against each other on Friday.

they both sued each other and it is not related to the technology itself.

I'd rather stay away from currencies that are highly oriented around a bunch of people.
It was one of the reason why we ditched fiat.
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep track of all the altcoins? on: September 10, 2017, 10:39:37 PM
blockfolio app for mobile Android/iOS

cointrackr for web

Checkout the full list https://coindash.co/s/portfolio-trackers/

Cointrackr helps a lot, but I like to keep an excel spreadsheet where I can have all my info at once without the current price of course.
984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam SCAm Scam on: September 10, 2017, 03:23:51 PM
This is why you always have to do proper research before investing in and ICO or anything for that matter. Following the the sheep will only get you slaughtered.

ICO = SCAM
So uhhhh  Cheesy

You do realize there is other alternatives than participating in ICO scams right ?

That's correct with most of them. So, different countries are banning them. It's all upto user whether to fall for such scam or not.
985  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I found a way to topup/recharge your phone with BTC on: September 10, 2017, 03:13:46 PM
I've too used bitrefill  for a long time now and the service is great.
Used to have higher fees at their start when I used to use Pikko, but they decreased their fee and are the most competitive service.
986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best healthcare ICO for huge profits on: September 10, 2017, 03:09:53 PM
Bowhead was featured in some popular news outlets and the ICO seems to be going great. I don't have much info about any other healtcare based coins.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just dumped my IOTAs on: September 10, 2017, 03:03:36 PM
You did the right thing. I too knew it would be one of those large scam, so I stayed away from it though tempted for many times.

Quote
Last month, Yours Network CEO, Ryan X. Charles, announced their platform would be switching from litecoin to bitcoin cash for payments. Now they have a fully functional beta implementation for bitcoin cash. As a result, their platform is more reliable, streamlined, and cleaner.

With full bitcoin cash functionality, transactions on the network run smoother and contain less bugs. According to Charles, “payments are far more reliable now because we don’t have dozens of unfinished payment channel edge cases.” He continued, “the big difference between last month and now is that the app is actually good enough to use.”

This implies users should be able to manage their activity on the platform more seamlessly. The micro-payments provided by bitcoin cash also allowed for lower fees.

They also added 5 features in the last two days. These features include:

A voting model where anyone can up-vote something and earn rewards. However, earlier voters earn more rewards. This incentivizes people to vote — they can earn money from voting on something if they vote on something popular early.
A tipping feature. Anyone can visit someone’s profile and send them a tip.
The front-page is now sorted by # of votes, so it is better curated. Good content tends to rise to the top.
Yours Network now charges 10¢ to post content. This has eliminated most of the spam on the platform.
Yours Network displays reading time before and after the pay wall. This lets people have more critical information about whether they want to pay for what’s behind the pay wall.

In meantime, binance too have re-enabled deposit and withdrawals of Bitcoincash. With all tumbling BCC seems smoothly proportional to BTC price.
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you hold chinese Altcoins, and will you keep holding them? on: September 10, 2017, 03:00:24 PM
I don't have any chinese tokens but I have some NEO if it counts. The price of NEO is already half of when I bought and I'm still in confusion to buy or to sell. So, currently I'll be doing neither and wait to see how things turns out.
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO - The Ethereum of China (Invest before you regret) on: September 10, 2017, 02:57:44 PM
Worst case scenario... China bans all cryptocurrency... what happens to NEO.  Could the project leaders simply move (be allowed to?) to another cryptocurrency friendly country?

I think they can, as they have no centralised place of existence, it's just their team being in china, The Neo would survive even without the team.
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LRC delisting on binance on: September 10, 2017, 07:23:31 AM
LRC delisting on binance, feel free to fud, and give suggestion, buy/sell/hold?

https://binance.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001484652

They are delisting LNC for being a token but they are not doing the same with their own token aka BNB.
992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you hold chinese Altcoins, and will you keep holding them? on: September 08, 2017, 10:22:09 PM
I don't think there are any popular China only coins, but there are many coins that originated from China.
I think Chinese government is supportive for development and research about cryptocoins in china.
And that strategy and enthusiasm among youth makes china a great place for cryptocurrency.

993  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashing24 vs Hashflare Review on: September 08, 2017, 04:16:36 PM
With the rise in bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, does anyone still think cloud mining is not profitable? From my own view, I think the smallest of bitcoin will mean a lot in the long run. Don't you think so?

Price rise isn't the only factor that determines profit here. 1 bitcoin a few years ago cost $300 and the contract that brought at that time with the same bitcoins would have made better fortune if it was just hold.
994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest for long term or short term gains? on: September 08, 2017, 04:08:17 PM
I as being a part time altcoin trader, my focus is on long term as I have a constant income that I'm saving and investing on Altcoin hoping to get over x10 within 2-3 years.
995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stock ETH on: September 08, 2017, 04:05:57 PM
Can I stock ETH alt coin from now?
somebody telling that it will be more value after the end of 2017.
It it true? or false?

ETH surely would be a valuable coin in the long run. Sooner or later it is going to be a POS only coin increasing in value for your stock.
996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to get some ZenCash? on: September 08, 2017, 02:33:08 PM
Exchange it with bitcoins in any popular exchange site like bittrex.
If you don't have bitcoins buy it with some fiat.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kyber ICO on: September 08, 2017, 10:42:02 AM
Selling whitelisted and approved after KYC accounts for Kyber Network tokensale.

5 accounts available

0.9 ETH each.

How we do the deal:
1. I send you email and password from crystal.kyber.network, you verify that it is legit and passed KYC.
2. I send an email to you from that email to prove it is my email.
3. You pay.
4. I send you the private key for whitelisted Ethereum account, password from email address.
5. You change password from email so I don't have access to the email.
6. You send a message to Kyber (you should send it between 8 and 10 sept) to change a whitelisted Ethereum account to your own adress so I don't have access to your money except 0.9 ETH you sent me.

You may not send email to Kyber to change a whitelisted address, but then I have access to the private key, that is not good.

If you are interested, please email me at (do not PM me here): jonfdoue@yahoo.com

bought accounts from this guy, excellent seller ! no problems during the selling and things went as the list above says  Grin

A just made ID buying something from a Just made ID and leaving a positive review confirms the seller to be a SCAM
998  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Simple bitcoin wallet app on: September 08, 2017, 09:16:15 AM
You can also go with coinmomi wallet in bitcoin which along with supporting a lot of alts and tokens, lets you decide how much fees to pay.
999  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question about Hashocean on: September 03, 2017, 10:17:06 PM

As you know, about a year ago, the famous "Cloud Mining" website Hashocean.com went down and appeared to be a ponzi scam.
But recently I found a post in their facebook page "HashOcean - Cloud Mining"  https://www.facebook.com/pg/HashOceanCloudMining

and they say that we can get a refund of our investment by filling this form : https://form.jotform.me/63640981513457
And we have to send them 0.02 btc in order to verify our address and I can see using their adress in blockchain : https://blockchain.info/address/1K2ovZwbKakVesD2LpUiVnLEX9uAEd6kgK that they are really paying back the 0.02 btc , also people are thanking them in the comments on facebook but I still can't trust them.

Has anyone tried getting a refund from them? or anyone have any idea about this topic

I haven't had any refund to take.
But I don't think they'll refund you after taking 0.02 btc.
Why would they need a transfer of exactly 0.02 btc to confirm your wallet.
There could have been other methods or a smaller amount.
0.02 is another scam with current price.
1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO - The Ethereum of China (Invest before you regret) on: September 03, 2017, 10:38:42 AM
NEO will certainly have good price but at this time many NEO sellers because according to recent information the Chinese government is preventing the participation in ICO projects from the NEO platform, this made many people bewildered and sold NEO at this time

NEO being a Chinese startup, would surely suffer from the Chinese government's policy, but with the large optimism and investment of Chinese youths for blockchain, China seems to be softer to such technology. Take an example of large mining farms, which are just in front of the communist party, yet runs without any problems.
