Hey All -
Have to say I am loving the enthusiasm around here. Keep it up guys, the success of this coin is up to us (the community) and of course the good doctor Kimoto.
Speaking of Kimoto I am in discussion about starting a forum. I am just waiting to hear from him whether we should start a standalone forum or a forum as a subdomain of the main megacoin website. As soon as I know I will get the forum up.
Will be needing some moderators, so anyone who is willing to help out with this let me know.
Regarding the payment gateway - it is still coming, I am just having to deal with a very slow Java dev. If he does not produce the goods soon I am going to have to cut him out and do it myself. Sorry for the delay on this guys, it is really frustrating me.
I have in the meantime been working on another project which some of you will no doubt hear about in a few days time. Although not directly related to Megacoin at this stage, I am trying to encourage my business partner into including Megacoin - if we are successful on launch I think this is a real possibility - cant say any more at the moment.
Lastly Kimoto has asked me to arrange some translations if possible for the Megacoin client (and website?). Looking for the following languages from these countries: Russia, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Netherlands, France, Brazil, Spain, Japan, Norway. Kimoto or I can provide a list of strings that need translation, if anyone is willing and able to help out with some of these languages please let me know - otherwise we are going to have to pay to get it done.

I am assuming the complete lack of interest in this coin proves my original point.
The ban was unnecessary as no one was going to mine this to begin with.

+1 This is a crazy idea. Why not make a software company called Microsoft2 or Microsoft Linux. What is the reason for this coin?

someone else we should petition is Mega.co.nz. get them on your side and this could over take even bitcoin +1 to the BTC-e to now theres an idea

btw Doc, is adding source etc. to github the next up number 1 job?
"Github is almost ready. Direct upload would have been useless, so branch structures were devised for group coding and bitcoin 0.9. Sources had to be reversed for historical value." - Kimoto

Yeah - the diff is very high for a coin only 1 day old. Will need very patient miners I think.

Is there a problem?
Seem to be stuck on block 500 even after adding the good nodes..
Try restarting the daemon. Thanks. Pool is on the correct chain now. Quite a high diff

MtMega And never be able to withdraw FIAT; that's the right way to go. Actually I have looked into the matter, and where I live it is quite legal to sell Bitcoin (therefore Megacoin) for fiat. It is however much harder to legally buy Bitcoin (Megacoin) for fiat from customers. So by default any such exchange I may build in the future would only allow fiat to Megacoin -> which seems perfect to me . At least it would make it easy for regular people (non Cryptocurrency nerds) to buy Megacoin without first needing to buy Bitcoin then going to an exchange etc..

There are successful Bitcoin securities??
|
|
|
Yeah I see it now, thanks for checking into it. I'm pointing some more hashing power this way right now and will let it do its thing BTW the 'exchange value' stat, am I correct in that ut shows what your current account balance could potentially be exchanged for? Yes, that is correct the 'exchange value' is calculated as your current balance x the current exchange rate.

Is megacoin working right or am I just having horrible luck? Been mining for hours, getting 0 earnings.
Also, I don't mean to clutter your announcement thread, so lmk if you have a support thread elsewhere.
Yes, all working correctly its just Megacoin confirms are a little slow at the moment. You started mining at about 10:30 pool time. As I write this blocks that were mined at around 10:30 are just reaching the required number of confirms. https://www.miningpool.co/stats/MEC/?sbc=100So you should start to see you earnings coming through from now.
