981  Local / India / Re: Anyone Got Income Tax Notice for Trading on Binance, FTX or Coinbase? on: May 07, 2022, 07:04:07 PM
On some Indian telegram groups about crypto people are complaining they got notices from tax authorities AFTER filing Income tax, almost all of them purchased crypto using bank acc via local exchange like WazirX, CoinDCX etc.. i am just curious if anyone got notice in india for trading in Binance.com, FTX, ByBit or Coinbase? i've heard some indians have huge sums on their offshore crypto exchange account such as binance, coinbase etc.. which they earned by trading and haven't disclosed it and many investors have small holding on binance, coinbase, ftx. etc.. which they don't intend to disclose too. Binance's official statement is that they don't share lumsum data of indian users with government but i think that's BS they will most likely give all the data to government soon enough.

Are you sure about the news? Because for last year even I filed my Income tax return and many friends of mine have done it too but we have faced no issues so far and have received no notices too. And as for the returns for this year, the forms for filing tax returns aren't out yet so they definitely wouldn't have filed any returns so far. So obviously they are talking about last year only. But yes this notice thing can be quite subjective and only a few cases are selected for scrutiny after they have filed their returns, not all of them are selected. Generally cases with the high-income groups and having tedious income structures are selected under scrutiny and are served notice. But I think intelligent people should have declared their incomes and won't get a lot of troubles in notices.

India Exploring Commercial Uses for Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) Says Finance Master!

The Indian government is exploring “several commercial use purposes and not just financial inclusion” for its central bank digital currency. India’s finance minister clarified that the aim is for the digital rupee, which will be backed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), to be issued by 2023.

India’s Finance Minister on RBI-Backed Digital Currency
Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman talked about the country’s central bank digital currency (CBDC), the digital rupee, this week at a business roundtable on “Investing in India’s Digital Revolution” in San Francisco.

The event was organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), a non-governmental trade association and advocacy group based in India. It was hosted by the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).

More Info: https://news.bitcoin.com/india-exploring-commercial-uses-for-central-bank-digital-currency-says-finance-minister/

What do you think about the comments by India’s finance minister?

Haha Indian Finance minister is awfully funny, She talks about CBDC aiming for digital transformation and on the other hand kills the Indian blockchain market by imposing heft tax on cryptos without even bringing a law on cryptos altogether. They are just trying to catch up with what other governments around the world are planning to do, I don't think there is any development around this CBDC it's just an imaginary thought so far which is just being explored by the government, no serious action has been taken on this. On the other hand, China has already launched it's CBDC. So far the digital rupee won't be anything too fancy, it will just be an online wallet with INR stored in cryptographic form. That's it.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔥 BTC365.com 🔥 IPL Prediction Pool 2022 & Discussion(Participants Only) on: May 06, 2022, 07:09:19 PM
This is the phase where lower ranking teams could perform slightly better than the rest, might even surprise us at times. That's how it goes in the long tournament, otherwise it would be dead state of affair. We need more drama to spice things up, may be more controversy.
Well said. I never expected Gujarat to not score 10 runs from 7 balls when they still plenty of hitters remaining in their squad. Sudarshan hit wicket and a couple of run-outs towards the end made it feel like this match was fixed to some extent.

Daniel Sams is an average bowler and he actually managed to give away just 4 runs in his final over which is seriously bizarre. Looks like @teosanru grabbed pole position currently.
MI had me lose almost 3-4 bets that I placed on them but they have adequately compensated for that with last two wins Cheesy . Surprising was that I am still betting on them after so many losses. But they gave me 2 Margin points in both their last 2 matches. When they socred 177 I thought I might get 1 point today but with 10 runs in the last over and with likes of Miller and Tewatia on the crease I thought it's a cakewalk, even after the wicket I though Rashid Khan would do this pretty easily but Daniel Sams with just limited weapons in his arsenal bowled pretty nice slower ones, he didn't attempt any yorker near the batsmen which actually is the prime reason bowlers get hit for boundaries in death overs.
984  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Liquidation Price when shorting on Binance Margin on: May 06, 2022, 06:57:45 PM
I've just placed my first ever short trade using the BTC/USDT pairing through Binance Margin (Isolated rather than Cross). I kept the amount very low for my first trade just in case I did anything wrong - but fortunately the trade seems to have gone through ok...

The Isolated trade on Binance allows me to borrow 10x the amount I have transferred into my Margin account. My question is, does the Liquidation Price (shown in the Positions tab) trigger when I have lost all of the money in my Margin account, or, can it access the money in my Spot account as well?

So my question is really... When making a short trade through Binance Margin, am I putting my Spot account at risk or just the money in my Margin account?
In no case can the broker go onto your spot account in order to cover the margin required for holding a trade-in situation of a liquidation. If such a case happens that you're about to your liquidation price with all margin almost gone he will just liquidate the trade. The worst scenario that might happen will be in case of cross margin in which exchanges use margin from other trades as well, so if you are in profit in a trade and near liquidation in a trade it will calculate your margin requirement on an overall basis and take some margin from the trade in profit. All in All your spot wallet is absolutely safe while making any margin trade.
985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Afraid to buy Bitcoin in its bearish state? on: May 06, 2022, 06:37:56 PM
Quote
There is no way of knowing what will trigger a Bitcoin bull run, but a Glassnode report on April 18 has spotted “a large amount of coin supply” hovering between $38,000 and $45,000. For traders who believe that BTC will hit $50,000 in July, there is a low-risk options strategy that can be used to launch a long bullish bet.

It is understandable that people tend to follow the most active entities in the world of Trading since having experience in this area people place their trust in them, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency full of possibilities, that is why it is so volatile that it's up today. and low tomorrow, but many investors usually see the movements of these and could even predict the future of this (not entirely true but they are close). What I mean by this? Basically this cryptocurrency is not going through its best moment since it is even said that it will oscillate between $25k, this is where I highlight my comment “Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency full of possibilities” since for some investors this will be the key point and the moment exact to invest in this and see it as a long-term investment since it will have to rise due to its volatility and good profits will be generated, it is a matter of time for this to happen. Don't you think it's a good way to take advantage of the bearish state of said cryptocurrency?
Information extracted from:https://es.cointelegraph.com/news/afraid-to-buy-the-dip-bitcoin-options-provide-a-safer-way-to-go-long-from-38k
I think this is a normal market tendency people are afraid to buy bitcoin in these bearish times when it is actually an intelligent thing to buy bitcoin and hold it while they would stupidly expend all their money to buy bitcoin when it is at or around the all-time high. This is the main reason why most of the investors lose a lot of money. They will always tend to buy at the times you should sell and sell at the time anyone would buy. To be honest, instead of going in with options as a beginner I would recommend just to average out your holding and building a portfolio by dollar-cost averaging good coins.
986  Economy / Economics / Re: Standard of living on: May 06, 2022, 06:27:09 PM
The prices of goods and services are increasing everywhere in the world, inflation being the major reason why, the physical and political war in Ukraine is also compounding issues for some specific countries, as we know if prices of commodities are high which they are, people will spend more money to buy the goods they need and pay for the services they want. Standard of living on the other hand is like a general term to quantify the economic well-being of people in any country, meaning if the prices of goods and services are high, people would be able to afford very little goods and services and that will make the standard of living to drop generally, and that also goes vice versa.

So i would like to know what the standard of living is like in your country now compared to five years ago. Was there any sharp difference in the standard of living pre pandemic and now. If there is a great fall in the standard of living in your country, have there been any move by the government and employers of labor to alleviate the sufferings of people. People who live in Ukraine, if you don't mind, i think a lot of people would want to know what it is like there too since the war began.

As far as I can see in almost all the countries post covid, just one thing has happened which is the widening of the gap between rich and the poor. In my country too the very same thing has happened, the riches have become even richer, especially the wealth of a few has grown exponentially while a few below the poverty line have just gone even down in their wealth chart, while the governments play the game of saying that all the statistics are lying and we are doing pretty good as a country. In a developing economy you will anyway see a rise in the standard of living in 5 years time frame unless you are in Sri Lanka or Ukraine.
987  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Potential to Drop in the $32k Area on: May 05, 2022, 08:23:44 PM
The cryptocurrency market has failed to live up to traders' expectations as the bitcoin price is still struggling to get back above $40k. Bitcoin's attempt to hold its price above $40k indicates the sluggish momentum of the crypto market. For almost a month now the bitcoin price is between $37k-$39k. Currently, the price of Bitcoin is trading at around $38k. If bitcoin fails to maintain its $38k price range, it could drop to $32k in the near term.

Pretty accurate I'll have to agree, on 4th may Bitcoin did look weak but not as if it would break the 37000 area but today it eventually did and from the looks of it I don't see any support in between now and 32k so 32k is imminent, probably it might give a bounce back till 40k after touching 32k which will sort of cool off the RSI before going down even further. What are you views for next few weeks?

Looks like CSK are out of the playoffs race along with MI. Crazy to think that these two heavyweights are out of the playoffs race so early. The big changes to this season were phenomenal and made a huge impact overall.

It's still tough for RCB to qualify at this point, but they have some hope now thanks to this win. Extremely entertaining season so far.
Chennai's future depends on next(Gujrat Titans) top 3 teams points. They would hope that next 3 teams get stuck at 14 points along with them, that means lots of "If and Buts". They would also prefer if qualification comes down to NRR. Although seems highly unlikely scenario considering every team is playing 14 matches each and majority of them do have at least 4 more matches to go.

RCB on the other hand got only 3 matches left so they are in tricky situation atm.

CSK is out let's just accept that fact, creating imaginary scenarios using calculation is a sign of a true fan Cheesy however practically these miracles have a extremely low probability of happening. I do see the tournament currently too skewed, until now it looks as if GT and LSG are surely going to make it, but for the next two spots there is a big fight between 6 teams primarily, with RR in the best situation and KKR in the worst. Tomorrow's match is just a fixture has no relevance for the points table, while the match day after will be a decider if PBKS loses I think their road to playoffs will become tough
989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone can help collect bitcoin on: May 05, 2022, 07:59:42 PM
I am located in China, bitcoin is not allowed to use. Anyone can help?
Download electrum wallet in your computer or download Mycelium wallet in your mobile phone, create a wallet on either of them, note your private key on a piece of paper and keep it safe somewhere and you're good to use bitcoin, Chinese government really can't stop you, a practical problem can be if you want buy Bitcoins, only solution for that is fine someone local using P2P or local Bitcoins and exchange bitcoin for some Yuan. Won't recommend VPN ideas as they can be risky if Exchanges come to know about it.
990  Local / India / Re: 30% TAX and 1% TDS applicable dates on: May 05, 2022, 07:55:36 PM
Starting 1st of April 30% tax on income from crypto and other virtual assets will come into effect and 1% TDS will come into effect from 1st of July. I am not sure whether the tax will be charged by the Indian crypto exchange or a user has to separately pay it. Does anyone here have the answers? If yes then, please reply here.

There is no official guidelines available till date. However, if the exchange is deducting the TDS, that should reflect in your 26AS form. That will give our government an idea on how much value you have transacted. Crypto exchanges will no be deducting 30% taxes, it's highly unlikely! So you have to keep track of all your crypto to fiat transactions. That 1% TDS will help you match you taxes with the calculation.

For example, you see that crypto exchanges have deducted 1000 rupees TDS in the entire financial year as per 26AS form. That means, your taxable crypto transaction value must be 100,000 rupees. So you are expected to pay 30,000 in crypto taxes.
No actually this isn't the case here, TDS would be deducted on the gross value which means on the sale value while tax has to be paid on sale value minus purchase price. So TDS deducted can only help you find the sales price not the income, just like what happens for many other businesses, so TDS would not help you keep track of exact income you'll still have to work on purchase prices.

So basically we just multiply the TDS by 30 to get the require amount of tax to be paid.
For example here 1000 rs is TDS and so 1000 x 30 = 30000 rs to be paid as tax.
But then I have a doubt. 30% tax is applicable on the transacted value or net income/profit.
I think it should be from the profit because if I am using 100000 to get a profit of 10000 then why would I pay 30000 as a tax.
No no, this isn't true tax is to be paid at 30% on the profit from sale while TDS of 1% will be deducted on sale price. So a simple multiplication by 30 won't help. You'll have to keep proper calculations.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the future of crypto 10 years from now. on: May 01, 2022, 08:02:46 PM
Bitcoin is the best coin in crypto and as the years passed by there are a lot of coins (altcoins) that is more profitable in terms of investment on both short and long term process, in you're future sights and speculation of btc based on some good promising projects that is now scattering and has a posibility to move to next level in the near future, Can there will be a coin that can manage to surpass btc 10 years from now?
All the other coins have just one big problem, they are either too centralized or are straightaway VC-backed which makes it difficult for anyone to trust them completely because you know eventually there is a set of capitalists sitting on the other end. Bitcoin on the other hand offers higher decentralization and is also not backed by any known person atleast, so it gives higher confidence to people in it. This is why I think even in next 10 years you won't find any currency surpassing bitcoin on number 1. unless there is a completely open-source currency, a great percentage of which isn't held with single person and offers much higher features than bitcoin in terms of speed, cost and scalabilty, then this thing is possible,

- Virat scoring runs, finally! At ridiculously slow pace but we're still celebrating.  Wink
- MI won finally!  Cheesy But birthday boy Rohit was found guilty of eating Vadapav again.  Tongue
- Ashwin treating IPL as his experiment lab, he did new funny thingy yesterday.
- Jadeja gave up on captaincy already due to his poor run, indeed big setback for him. CSK went back to Dhoni.

Grin Grin

This really had me laughing when I saw the replay, if a fast pacer would have done this thing, It would have made sense that he wants to deceive the batsmen with the pace, but a spinner bowling from so behind doesn't makes a lot of sense to me atleast. But despite this you can't deny the Ashwin is the most innovative bowler in the world currently. Even if the track is not turning he can deceive you with the pace or with the pause in the action or with an offspin in between those carrom balls or the worst case could be he will just mankad you  Grin

Looks like CSK's fortune has changed once again just as MSD has become the captain again.  Grin or should I say Gaikwad's fortune has changed? MSD is undoubtedly the best captain in the world but I feel if your captain steps down it makes more sense to give the opportunity to the next in line rather than to one who stepped down from it earlier. This will just create a controversy that Jadeja was anyways just a dummy captain therefore resigned.
993  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: cryptocurrency trading courses on: May 01, 2022, 06:41:50 PM
i'm looking for a good trading course. i found some good ones on udemy based on reviews but im not quite sure if they are actually worth it. i dont know how to value them. i want to learn trading from A to Z step by step without jumping here and there on youtube. ive been doing quite till now but i feel i have knowledge gaps. if u can please link me to some nice courses i'll be thankfull.
There is no single course which can teach you everything about trading, but for starters, Udemy is excellent source, just learn the basics properly because once you learn the advanced theories people tend to forget the basics which is the major reason for their failure as a trader, even though there is no such one course but there is one book which really can open your senses about trading as a whole, it's "Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets" by John.J.Murphy. It's a great book and actually can help you train your brain as to how to find good trade ideas and how to actually develop that trading thinking.
994  Other / Archival / Re: MetaMask makes friends with Bitcoin on: May 01, 2022, 06:15:58 PM
But people should not forget that Metamask is a web wallet, online wallets are more vulnerable to online attackers, but among online wallets, web wallets are most vulnerable to attacks. I will still advice people to have their own individual wallet which is is open source, reputed and not web wallet. It is still better to go for Electrum wallet. And for holding large amount of coins hardware wallet would be better. Even Electrum can be used on airgapped device as a cold storage, it can also be an extension to some hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger Nano, someone can decide to run his own Electrum server for privacy.

For privacy: Bitcoin Core
Best bitcoin SPV wallet: Electrum
Best hardware wallet: Open source hardware wallet
I think no one uses metamask to store a large number of bitcoins, it's a web wallet that has its own utility, I understand how important it is to store your bitcoins on an open-source wallet that isn't always online. But I think the utility of metamask comes in the web 3.0 applications and while spending your bitcoins online, we are approaching an age where you want to make online purchases as quickly as possible so having metamask is a much quicker option, It's riskier if you compare it to Hardware wallets or Cold software wallets but it is reliably safe for smaller amounts and at least much safer than custodial wallets such as coinbase etc.
995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger USB problem in the airport on: May 01, 2022, 06:09:35 PM
Hello good morning, I am a flight attendant and I would like to know if it is possible to carry my Bitcoin with me in a usb ledger, as I have been told that when passing through the security arch at airports they could damage the ledger and remove my Bitcoin from the device. I would love to hear from anyone who is in this situation. Regards and thanks.

I am assuming that you have stored your 12 word seed somewhere else on a paper in a safe place, if that is stored in a safe place with you there is nothing that can remove your bitcoin from the device. Even if I assume a hypothetical scenario, where you hardware wallet which stores data in a flash format interacts with some cosmic ray or x-ray and changes or corrupts the data inside your wallet, your money isn't destroyed by this, because your money isn't stored on that hardware, instead it is stored on lakhs of nodes which are mining bitcoins and hundred thousands of blocks that have been mined before, just load your private key into a new wallet and you are good to go again.

Today putting my money on King kohli, his 50+ score coming in this match and just to support him i won't watch the match or even check the scorecard because i don't want to jinx anything.  Tongue
Virat Kohli is back in touch but he is not having the same flow like he used to have but some of the shots were great and since you put money on Kohli to perform what is the odds they were providing.

Mumbai Indians finally have a chance to win the game, their bowlers bowled well and now they just need 5 runs in 8 balls to win the first match in this edition Grin.
Finally Mumbai was able to win this match Cheesy at once when Pollard got out I was really sceptical, i really though this could be another nightmare for Mumbai but thankfully sams manage to hit a very good six to clear all the confusions going around in any body's mind. Even though they are out of the tournament but still that Smile on face of Rohit Sharma was really priceless. No team wants to get a tag of 9 consecutive losses and especially the most successful team of the IPL history. Playoffs situation is getting a bit interesting now, GT has qualified for sure, apart from that still 7 teams are competing on 3 spots, with RR, LSG and SRH on same situation.
997  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A single trading tool is not enough on: April 30, 2022, 04:55:16 PM
To get the best out of any analysis confluence between multiple tools is best because it gives a clear picture of where to possibly set take profit and set a stop loss in case of reversals. For me i Iove support and resistance and so I combine trend lines, moving average, time frame and indicative candle stick making sure my chart is as neat as possible and any signal outside this i avoid it. This keeps my trading discipline in check.

What are your own it can be beneficial to someone else.
Exactly yes, I feel anyone can easily identify patterns on chart, breakouts or reversals or even accumulations but one needs to have a set of indicators to ensure that these patterns are valid. If 2-3 indicators give you a signal while you are approaching a particular breakout the chances of that breakout being profitable would rise drastically, this is how everyone should actually trade not just by seeing a breakout and putting your money on it.

Both of us were wrong. Am on a 4 match losing streak currently primarily thanks to Gujarat who keep winning like crazy. Looks like SwordsRex will surpass me. They are the first team to qualify for the playoffs and only lost one match so far.

Their middle order batsmen are truly something else. Mumbai are out of the race which means that 8 teams are basically competing for the remaining 3 spots.
Same here man i was well on the top but now in this round i have almost got everything wrong, GT is turning out to be undefeated 11, they always get that one player who takes them beyond the par score. After RCB made 170 I was almost sure that they would win this match but GT chased it with 3 balls to spare, King Kohli did hit a half century in this match but his strike rate is just around 100 after playing around 53 balls but atleast this might be a start for him on getting back in form.
999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Historical Bitcoin's 11 years trend line resistance. on: April 30, 2022, 04:45:31 PM
Just talking about a trendline makes zero sense to anyone, i don't know what's the issue why you can't upload image of the chart you are seeing, but interestingly 11 years trendline is almost an impossible task to draw because of the exponential rise in price, you might be using a log chart but still making such a trendline with accuracy in this region is hard. Also in your post it's not even clear that you are talking about a supporting trendline or resistance trendline.

Not only limiting it to bitcoin I think it's a great idea for almost every country around the world, the goods confiscated from any criminal must be redistributed among the ones who are needy and want any help. Talking about this Bitcoin donation I feel it's great, it'll bring back some extra bitcoin into circulation which were hacked and confiscated therefore were out from the system for a very long time.
