It seems that usually it does not cost money to get a coin reviewed and listed, and that only in rare cases they ask for a fee ("At our discretion, we may require an additional compliance fee for listing. These happen in the extraordinary cases where your coin's use case is extremely complex and requires significant research by our staff to determine suitability.") the 3 btc mentioned in what you posted is only if you chose to get them to promote the coin in their platform. Did they explicitly say that they want 3 btc just to apply the coin for their review? (what they consider to happen only in extraordinary cases in their words) Oh, I though fee is a requirement. It sounds like youve already submitted the application without a fee though, correct? Yes, you are right, they take application firstly for review, if it is approve, they want to fee payment Why in the world would anyone pay 3 BTC to get on Bittrex, or any other exchange. Unfortunately, to me it looks like all the Lite Wallet launch is doing is drawing in the money hungry people trying to make a quick buck. I had hoped it would have a different affect...oh well. Guess there's no need to focus on the tech when there is money to be made  I totally agree with you, But .. i believe what are we doing for PR, it will positive return for elastic. From the words they sent you it looks like the 3 btc is optional and just for marketing, you are buying exposure on their platform probably in the side ads or popups, nothing to do with getting listed on the exchange. it's bittrex rule. I saw this question on the Slack... it didn't get any answers and I have the same question myself so I thought I'd copy and paste it here: hi all, i am really interested in this project but i am wondering - who "owns" elastic, i.e. not just who's the dev but who is going to be the "face" for elastic. the reason i ask is because i know that to get on bittrex, someone will need to verify their identity I doubt Elastic devs will allow to disclose their identities, so if that's the requirement from exchange, then the exchange will probably lose their part of the precious fees from Elastic trading. If Elastic market will be big enough I'm pretty sure such exchange will have to make an exception and list Elastic anyway, or they will just earn nothing. After all, no one was requiring Satoshi ro reveal himself in order to get BTC listed right? no body "owns" elastic...it is an open source project..anyone can join, contribute or be a part of it It's gonna be kinda hard to hit that 100 million dollar marketcap trading on Yobit and Bitcointalk threads. I seriously doubt there will be any issue with having the coin listed on a major exchange. With that being said, there are many other trustworthy exchanges (no, not yobit) that can step up to the plate. Tuxexchange is a really nice one, imo. Beyond that, there are decentralized exchanges now. I wouldn't worry about the exchange problems whatsoever. I am not core dev like @ek, but I am an another contributor. I've just created a wallet (community) and used the faucet. Does the faucet even work?
I am waiting for this to be listed on any exchange so I can buy some. Looks good.
If you used this https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html, then it's testnet wallet. Wait for mainnet launch this Saturday and create a real one. Faucet is also on testnet, but it probably doesn't work now (afaik) yes @tomkat is right, community wallet is another testnet (now) before mainnet, We will release lite wallet when mainnet is online, we are waiting instructions on @unvoid @by rallier - by the way dude, all the best for your up-coming wedding next month.
After launch, let's make sure we've got the foundation up and running and funds flow to you and all the others (EK, coralreefer, unvoid, etc.) that have committed so much time and effort to Elastic.

What you have in your github for elastic_pl is outdated and no longer used as far as I know. For now, all the ElasticPL code is now embedded in the miner. I didn't know it, I was following here: https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/elastic-pl I can move readme.md file to another repo, its not big deal. But I always check our position what we need fork on @OrdinaryDude Repos or @unvoid Repos. Last days, there are look like so complicated |
