If you are not making even a few dollars then put it up for sell.
982  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How many ASIC Block Erupters? on: December 05, 2013, 05:32:03 AM
You can use block eruptors to see what its like to mine. But profit will be very low even when you combine many of them.Do some calculations first with calculators.
983  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7 gpus on a single motherboard is posible? on: December 05, 2013, 05:29:56 AM
The motherboard must have 7 slots to connect them to even if they are pci X16 or x8.You will surely need extensions to connect all of them properly and also multiple power supply units.

Watch a tutorial first at youtube before doing it just to be safe.

Its BFL what can we expect after all the bad experience people are having.
986  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: USB Erupters price gone crazy on: December 05, 2013, 05:25:38 AM
because those rigs aren't tied to btc prices.  they accept BTC for payment, but the btc is immediately exchanged for fiat.  ASICminer transacts in btc only, which is why their hardware went up in price.

Upside for them to earn more in the chance.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Modifying usb block eruptors to mine scrypt coins on: December 05, 2013, 01:02:40 AM
Is it possible to somehow modify the usb block eruptor miners coding or a part of hardware to mine scrypt based coins instead of SHA-256 coins?
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What kind of server is needed to run a pool? on: December 04, 2013, 08:53:22 PM
I want to run  pool for scrypt based coins. What kind of server is needed to do this? Also can I run pools for multiple currencies in a single server?
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New scrypt mining technology will make GPU mining obsolete? on: December 04, 2013, 07:16:21 PM
Someone told me a new technology is coming which will make coins like Liteocin,TagcoinmFeathercoin etc mining from gpu not worth it,is this really happening?
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will I be able to mine Litcoins (and looking for guide) on: December 04, 2013, 03:02:41 AM
You need good ATI GPU card, what GPU do you have?

GPU:
ATI Radeon X1200

MoBo:
Acer F690GVM

Your cpu and gpu both are very weak for liteocin. Some days ago I tried mining tagcoins with my dual core E5200.But bth the processor and motherboards temperature were at 99 degree celcius. You can use your cpu to learn the setup and see hows its like to mine, just to learn. And keep a look at your temperatures.
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which card is best bang for the buck to mine scrypt based coins? on: December 04, 2013, 01:10:32 AM
I was looking at radeon 7950,7970,R9 280X,R9 290 and R9 290X.I saw their performance from this link:

https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

I am wondering can we really get the exact hashing power like its written in the chart for these cards? Also different brands cards generates different amount of hashing power. That's also a problem.I don't understand which one to get.
992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Should I mine at home or put the gpu in a data center? on: December 03, 2013, 05:47:13 PM
I am planning to mine litecoin and other scrypt based currencies with a radeon R9 280X graphics card.A few days ago I tested my cpu to see if it could mine. While doing that when I suddenly checked the temperature after running it for almost 2 days bot the cpu and motherboard temperatures were at 99 degree celcius.I turned the mining off at once.I am lucky that both hardware are still running fine.

Now if I put the radeon R9 280X  gpu in my pc what if temperature gets over 80 or 90 degree celcius while mining? At this rate the hardware will get broken very soon and I may even not get my investment back.Although there is warranty but it takes time to get it fixed.

I was thinking of buying a server with the gpu in it and than put it in a data center where they keep the room temperature controlled at 20 degree celcius through air conditioning.Still I am not sure if hardware temperature will stay at 20 degree celcius as it will keep generating heat. Can someone tell me about this surely.

At this point I cant figure out what to do,should I go with a server to keep the hardware running for long time(which I am not sure if its possible) or start mining at my home which I am not sure how long lasting it might be.Need your opinions about this.
993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is anyone mining tagcoins and are they worth it? on: November 28, 2013, 09:05:33 PM
I was looking at the calculator at coinwarz.com and found tagcoins can be worth many dollars.A decent gpu is enough to generate many of them.

This coins is only like 1 month old.Very little info is available.I can't even find a good working guide to try it out.

Is anyone here mining them and are they really profitable as the calculator says?

Peercoin(PPC) and Namecoin(NMC) uses SHA-256 hash algorithm just like Bitcoin. Is it possible to use bitcoin mining hardwares to mine PPC and NMC?

996  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: xtrememiners.net - scam or not? on: November 26, 2013, 09:24:14 PM
Okay guys so if you’re interested, read this, if you’re not, don’t.
I just ordered a Tiger and a Lion ffrom Xtreme Miners.
I know it is risky, I know it is possible that they are a Scam.
But seriously, many of you mine themselves so they know that this chance is actually bigger than the risk you take.
Go to coinmarketcap.com all the alternative currencies are raising like crazy , because everyone who still has GH miners will now switch to the other currencies – because the BTC difficulty is too high.
This is the chance to mine other currencies like PPCoin.. remember when bitcoin was worth only a few cents and now everyone is like „omg i should have kept those coins“ well now the other currencies are worth a few cents, but they can go up as well
You could win so much with these miners, you could also lose all your mooney, and i take the risk
It used to take me 10 days to mine 10 bitcoins, so if you saved the bitcoins from a couple of months ago, you only lose a couple of days that you have beem mining.
In a few months you will remember this thread and say, you should have invested in the alt-currencies as well

This is simple math: the risk is so tiny compared to the amount of money you could win. We’re all miners and a few months ago my bitcoins were worth 100$. So 10 BTC were worth 1000 $ , and if i invest that now i may lose originally 1000$, but i could get for example a lion that makes 41 btc a month in january (difficulty 2688MM) , that is crazy and the breakeven point is reached super fast.
So if I lose, i lose 10.000$ that were worth $1.000 to me, so the pain is not too big. But if I win, i can get $36.000 (IF the bitcoin price wouldn’t even go up until january)

I agree with some of your points. But can we be sure that Litecoin,Namecoin and a few others will expand quick and become big like bitcoin at a very high price?I heard Litecoin was designed to be used in small transactions where bitcoin is for bigger players. Is there big duture for any other crypto currencies?
997  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Black Arrow changed there cloud minions plans on: November 26, 2013, 08:39:36 PM
Today I was looking at Black Arrow Softwares website and found out they changed their cloud mining plans. Now their hashing speed starts from 1thash/sec and costs $2000+.Earlier they were from 100ghash/sec and costed $200+.

Why the sudden change,no beginner miners will start with them for that high power and price.
998  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Currently available mining hardware for rent on: November 22, 2013, 04:46:52 PM
I want to rent 50 or 100 Ghash/sec mining hardware.I looked at Black Arrow but theirs aren't available till March.I want to start now and see how it goes but can't find one.Can anyone suggest me a reliable brand which provides mining hardware in rent currently?
999  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Does mining hardwares work as they are advertised? on: November 22, 2013, 11:27:25 AM
I was looking at Black Arrow Software's mining hardwares. They are much cheap compared to Butterflylabs.Black Arrow's 2000 Ghash/sec is $4900 where Butterflylabs 600 Ghash/sec is $4680.Also Black Arrow's rentable rigs are also much cheaper than Butterflylabs.

We all know Butterflylabs is very famous, but does this mean Black Arrow isn't good enough to do business with,is it like the cheaper the worse?I am thinking of renting their hardware when they are available.I would like to hear about this from you who know and are experienced about mining hardwares.

Surely it won't happen in this century.
