I missed that thread, I don't usually read the Loans forum. Amazing thing you and the other guys did there! Dogs are the greatest creatures on this planet, and this kind of thing helps me believe there's still hope for mankind.

Russia stuff...
Please, please, please, just don't. No politics. Everything we do in life is a political statement, in one way or another, whether we like it or not. To be really successful, every cryptocoin needs to be based on something that makes it unique. Litecoin took off because mining Bitcoin with GPU's was becoming harder and harder. Anoncoin is intended to offer user anonymity. USDE's proposal is the defense of people's freedom - economic and otherwise - and Sochi is right there waiting to be used to help make this coin stand out from the crowd, and rightfully so.

How is making pictures that makes fun of the clusterf*ck preparations made by the russians "supporting"?
Learn to read. What I wrote was: If USDE is going to be used to depict the Sochi Olympics positively in any way (...)
If you're speaking positively of something, you're effectively supporting it. lets not get into this Gay rights and Vladimir Putin debate circus, please....
It's not as much about gay rights as it is about suppression of freedom. The "gay aspect" of it just tends to gather more media attention. Anyways, there's no "debate" here, Putin is a ruthless dictator and that's it. We'd like to address some of the confusion surrounding the Sochi graphic / meme announcement. Its intention was nothing other than getting a graphic, which relates to Sochi, the Olympics and the USDe in a humorous way. No disrespect was intended.
This graphic was meant to accompany a trending satirical piece on Sochi, which again, is a story about currencies. My apologies if this was not made clear.
I think we might have a good set of marketing concepts here which could be used in an extremely rewarding way for the coin. The main slogan associated with USDE is "USDe - The Free People's Currency". Under Putin's rule, Russia has turned into a dictatorship with Putin perpetuating himself in power by violently harassing (or actually incarcerating) his enemies, both personal and political, while at the same time instilling fear in the people through a very effective propaganda machine or even outright violent physical repression of anything against his regime. We've all seen this before, in nazi Germany, in North Korea, etc. Russian cable news channel TV Rain under threat after 'political attack'"Backlash over online poll on Leningrad siege leads to channel being axed from networks amid claims of Kremlin interference."
So I believe USDE might use the fact that it's already presented as a coin that intends to help people defend their freedom and produce material mixing that with mockery of Putin, his actions, and of course, Sochi. Google is doing it right now: Rainbow Google doodle tackles anti-gay laws as Sochi kicks off"Search engine's logo presented in the colours of the rainbow flag to coincide with the opening of the Winter Olympics in Sochi."
It doesn't need to be specifically about gay rights, the amount of material that can be used is huge: the Pussy Riot band incarceration, the detention of the "Arctic 18" group of GreenPeace activists under conditions that violated universal human rights, etc. And if anyone here feels any sympathy for Putin and his actions, by all means, move to Russia! The rest of the world will be much better off with you there.

To the OP: you must be kidding me. There are even pieces of human garbage here who actually support the NSA: Every time some kid tries to take potshots at NSA, I wonder if they consider how much effort and competence it has taken for a single agency to run such a wide spread, global surveillance/information gathering program without being fully detected and exposed for what is estimated to be at least 10 years.
If they control Gox (makes sense, start it off of US territory, under American 'private ownership', etc), then my hats off to them.
The most effective form of intelligence operation is one that is competent, all-encompassing, and most of all, secret. I suppose it doesn't occur to people that the reason public never hears about successes of intelligence operations is because when they are successful, they maintain their secrecy.
Many such organizations take perverse pride in knowing that their successes never see the light of day, precisely because they are successful and therefore kept a secret.
Fuck they don't even list the names of intelligence star recipients on the wall in Langley.
Before being afraid of NSA or bitching about CIA, I suggest people understand the nature of what it takes to maintain and advance security of a nation.

I'm sure you guys have heard a lot about the Winter Olympics in Sochi? There's a lot of unique chatter and picture sharing about guest accommodations... The USDe site will have at least one if not two Sochi Olympics-related articles posted in the hopefully near future (new site is nearing publishing, very likely tonight).
I'd like to announce a contest for a good, Sochi-hospitality-inpired memes, with a USDe twist.
The winning graphic and/or meme may be used in the publishing of related blog articles.
1st Place Winner receives 20k USDe 2nd Place Winner receives 10k USDe 3rd Place Winner receives 5k USDe
USD-e, I've always appreciated your common sense when dealing with all kinds of stuff as the person leading the USDE coin project, but this idea of yours really caught me off guard. I think this would be a shot in the foot as far as the coin's marketing is concerned. The Sochi games are under heavy fire from all sides, because of Russia's "president" Vladimir Putin's homophobic stand, because of that country's anti-gay and anti-freedom of speech laws, and now because of a controversial cull on stray dogs around the areas where the games will take place (and that means murder in my dictionary). If USDE is going to be used to depict the Sochi Olympics positively in any way, please let me know, because I have absolutely no intention of having any kind of relation with anything or anyone who supports that abomination of an event. Sochi 2014: world authors join protest against PutinRussia's anti-gay and blasphemy laws threaten freedom, says open letter signed by more than 200 writers from 30 countries. Sochi Winter Olympics: who is going to the opening ceremony?China's Xi Jinping and Ukraine's Viktor Yanukovych will attend but many in west have been put off by Russia's anti-gay laws. Sochi hires pest control firm for cull of stray dogs during Winter OlympicsFirm says thousands of stray dogs are roaming the streets of Sochi and that some are biting children. Olympians urge Russia to reconsider 'gay propaganda' lawsSome current and former Olympians criticise Games officials and sponsors for lack of action over anti-gay measures. What do you say guys? Think there may be an organized effort, a ganging up of sorts? Jealousy? Lol this is pretty hillarious stuff. Truth hurts? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) It needs to be provided first. Please, go ahead, share your truth ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Never mind that. With the large amount of cryptocurrencies available, these attacks are inevitable, and I'd go as far as saying that most are from supporters of weak coins who feel threatened by USDE's strength, which only serves to prove how successful USDE already is. I also believe that the people behind other serious coins (like the ones in my signature) don't feel the need to go badmouthing another coin because they have enough confidence in their own coins and their communities.

Long live USDe! We will hit 1000 satoshi this week and haters gonna hate.
Meanwhile, I'm buying all the cheap USDE I can. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) * * * If you're not interested in USDE anymore, feel free to send them all to the address in my signature! I'll send you a few naked pics of me in return. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Before trusting this individual and doing business with him, you should be aware that he is a supporter of the NSA and other "secret" agencies: Every time some kid tries to take potshots at NSA, I wonder if they consider how much effort and competence it has taken for a single agency to run such a wide spread, global surveillance/information gathering program without being fully detected and exposed for what is estimated to be at least 10 years.

It's surely easier to be "competent" to remain under the radar when you have a secret court backing you up, giving you illegal/unconstitutional powers to intimidate and force public and private institutions and companies to comply with your "Big Brother" practices, most of which not even the individuals elected to legitimately govern the country are aware of. In other words: FUCK YOU

This is great, thanks TheIrishman. My plan was to go with R9 280x and I think I'll stick to that.
I think that's the best choice too, that's what I'd get if I were buying a new card for mining. It will be used exclusively for mining, I don't game much anymore. Pretty much a newbie when it comes to hardware, my first built PC is two weeks old ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) This page has much more precise data: Mining hardware comparison (Litecoin Wiki)

That chart is a little off, both my 7990 are undervolted so they run faster, they are also under water so that also make a big differnce
Yes, like I said, with some tweaking you'll get better results. This is just to give a rough idea of how these cards perform compared to each other.
