stupid question but how do I back up the wallet data from the old wallet ?

NOT STUPID at all!!!  Very important to know how to back up your wallet, you could lose all your coin if you don't!!!  Two ways.

1. With your wallet open, go to the menu File => Backup Wallet.  Choose a location to save it and give it a name, I usually use the type of coin "Darkcoin_wallet.dat"

2. With the wallet closed, go to your wallet folder, in Windows, it's in C:/Users/AppData/Roaming/Darkcoin/  Find the wallet.dat file and copy it then save to another location.  In Ubuntu at least, it's in your home file, hidden (so choose show hidden) and is called .darkcoin.

To restore a wallet, you can just load and sync a wallet, then replace the wallet.dat file with the one you saved Smiley

so when I back up the old xcoin wallet  I need to find it in c: the copy it and add it to the new darkcoin wallet folder(anywhere in folder?)
im trying to get 222 coins sent from old wallett new wallet

So you have two distinct versions of "wallet.dat" ? One with the "old" address and one with the new ? And you have transferred 222 DRK from the old to the new one ?

yes exactly
1. Save the two somewhere with distinct names e.g. "wallet-old.dat" and "wallet-new.dat".
2. Put a copy of your new wallet ("wallet.dat") in the folder ./AppData/Roaming/Darkcoin/
3. Download the newest client on http://darkcoin.io/
4. Run it and let it update the blocks

Right, thanks for the advice guys, now running my 270s at I13, 1070/1480, gpu threads 2, tc 6336, and powertune 20 just for voodoo purposes. Sitting nice and stable so far getting 1.25MH each @ 54C, ~5MH total. The almost identical box sat next to it mining vert is at 64-69C each card at 975/1250.

Plenty of Accepteds scrolling by down below, but the top line showing Accepted shares only incrementing very slowly?

Mined a mighty 1.5 DRK so far in 8 hours or so. Hopefully this rate will increase a bit with PPLNS.

Yeah accepts are low (since it must work through all the 11x before one accept is done?)

as long as your WU is at around 0.018 ish ?

What happened to Suchpool ?
I got 1.3Mh/s with my E7 but now the rate is only 0.3MH/s.
Why do acceptes so low?

Maybe you have to switch to stratum2.suchpool.pw
Quote
If you can't connect using stratum1.suchpool.pw, please use stratum2.suchpool.pw. Miners from Europe can now use stratum-eu.suchpool.pw!

Or it's this :

all stats fixed but MPOS still output a fraction of real # of accepted shares and don't report real worker hash... should be fixed in some hours! everything in the backend work perfetly, payout etc, MPOS IS LYING, gonna teach him how to tell the truth!

No you must put your "wallet.dat" in ./AppData/Roaming/Darkcoin/

The wallet application takes into account that file only when it is in the above folder.

What is the Darkcoin (name) equivalent of a satoshi, i.e. 0.00000001 DRK ?
(A kuroshi ?)

Diff is all over the place, it cycles from 300 to 750... I think DGW doesn't work as they thought it would.

I'm not a specialist but it works the way it is supposed to, the diff is reajusted with each new block depending on the net hashrate.

Are people ASIC mining this already? the difficulty has gone up so much that it's not even profitable for gpu miners anymore, doesnt make sense.

No ASIC, a lot of GPU are migrating here. The Darkcoin era is starting.

Or perhaps Darkcoin once it's made open source? (don't think it is yet...)

Darkcoin use CoinJoin method, much like Shared Coin service of Blockchain.info. We can still practice CoinJoin within Bitcoin system, therefore Darkcoin offer nothing new. CoinJoin doesn't hide your transactions completely, it just make harder to trace your money flow. With proper data mining and data analysis, your transactions might still be traced. And federal agencies have more than enough human & technology resource to do that. Zerocoin is another story, i'm excited to see what Zerocash will bring to crypto world.

Don't forget DarkSend : http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkSendDocumentation.pdf

That DarkSend function is based upon CoinJoin, i explained above. It seems that you are the one doesn't understand how DarkCoin/DarkSend work, not me.

Waw chill out I never said that you don't understand a thing ... DarkSend actually in beta 5 is in constant evolution just check the link that's all.  Shocked

For the logo I imagine something more like this :

With the D as it appears on the coin, forming a question mark.

Great concept, but it ends up looking like a P.  And a little bit too busy... it's hard to get a logo just right!  Ugh!

Take a look at the latter

This one is quite ambiguous! At first I saw P not an exclamation mark.

(Question mark) Better ?

Then again I'm not a designer.  Grin

Yes !
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I say X11 and SHA3 are not ASIC resistent ? on: March 28, 2014, 03:52:37 AM
I can't figure out your agenda, copy pasting the same thing all day long on every threads concerning X11.

You may have purposely missed my answer :

Quote
Each algorithm in X11 may individually be non resistant but it is not the case when they are combined. X11 is a set of hash functions and SHA3 is a hash function, apples and oranges.

Can you proof ? do you have theories back up your claim ?

Do YOU have a proof to back up your claim ? All I see is an article about SHA3 implementation what about the hardware implementation of a set of functions ...

Please answer the question, don't try to change the topic.

My first answer is pretty clear... You go around saying things you don't seem to understand and you ask me for proof when you provide none.

It is going to be funny, you answer what ? you claim when they are combined, it will be ASIC resistant. I ask you why ASIC resistant when they combine together ? just answer the claim that you state, I am willing to follow your theory if you have proof.
You don't understand that the hardware implementation of several functions is more difficult (and expensive) than the implementation of a single one, and that therefore a coin using a set of hashing functions is more ASIC resistant ?  Huh
