981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 28, 2022, 07:49:43 PM
Jesus is having his medical in London today ahead of his ~50 mil euro deal to Arsenal. I think it is a smart move, he showed he is a top player when he was given a chance in the 2nd half of the season.

He should gel well into fast and direct Arsenal offensive line and he will bring some experience and a winning mentality to a fairly inexperienced team.
He made the best choice especially after the arrival of Haaland in City which means his playtime will be reduced a lot. On Arsenal he can get the what used to be the place of Aubemayang and replace him well imo. Arsenal are trying their best to build a solid team to be as competitive as the others.
I do agree that it has been something special, I mean Haaland is not the type of player you see every day, he is a wonderful player that we have so little of. Sure we have a lot of players in the world, but I could name maybe like 5 or 6 strikers at Haaland levels, probably not even that much to be honest.

Jesus would have been benched and not played at all, maybe see 20 unimportant games that would make him angry. With him being in Arsenal, he is covering a very important position that Arsenal needed, and he left for a club that fights hard for that top 4 position, which is why I believe that he would be getting a ton more attention, even maybe renew his value to a peak again as well.
982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Talks of soft crypto regulations on: June 28, 2022, 10:59:10 AM
Though we all know crypto is here to stay and bitcoin will surely rebound.
I was wondering if these soft regulations will keep the crypto decentralised.
Liberal laws will not get you going with crypto. Sure the regulations would be "soft" but that would be still a risk. What we need here is not hard or soft regulations, we need understanding that crypto is a currency and should be taxed based on that. So, let’s take UK for example since that is the topic, they use Pounds as a currency right? Sterling, pound, quid, whatever you want to call it.

If one person buys euro or dollars, and then that goes up against pound, then they made a profit, right? How is that profit taxed? That is exactly how crypto should be taxed, because that is exactly what a crypto is, not like a stock, but like a foreign fiat currency.
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing projects before launch on: June 27, 2022, 12:04:43 PM
What platforms or websites do you use to track projects before your ICO? And what criteria do you use to invest in them?
I often join the launch events on Binance Or join the Huobi premlist which is much safer from fraud. For the rest, I'm not too sure about dropping money into new, little-known projects. That's one way I did join, there are certain conditions that you must meet.

This method of selecting new projects is the most acceptable for a beginner, since he cannot independently conduct a comprehensive assessment of the project, and without this, such investments usually lead to loss of money. In this case, you can trust the opinion of Binance and Huobi specialists, who conducted a corresponding study before launching the project.
It is definitely a good way because you are allowing a great company to do selections for you, nothing that sucks and could be an obvious scam, could get listed in Binance for example. Don't get me wrong it could "fail", but rugpull is a very small chance, or at least it is compared to what you could do normally. This is why I believe that the best thing we could do here is just getting it done via Binance selection and that way we will not be screwed.

I know that it is not going to be simple to keep on investing in ALL of them, so you will have to pick between what Binance already picked, and that part could be the only questionable part. Aside from that, it is definitely a great idea for all newbies.
984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador loses more than half the value of its reserves in bitcoins on: June 27, 2022, 11:36:22 AM
I also see the activities of the president of El Salvador in favor of BTC. Since this market has received more interest, many people have invested many assets in it. Basically, from 2022 to the present, we see its decline and the losers who have invested in this phase may be going through the loss phase, but we are just looking at them from the perspective of others. In a time period that we limit, is it convincing as to whether they have failed or not? Who knows when they will sell them? Perhaps I think a long-term investment is here when they see opportunity and potential for future price increases rather than a short-term cycle term. Whether in 10 years' time we repeat this issue, 10 years ago someone bought BTC with pizza or forgot it and looked at the current value.
I agree that maybe it hasn't been paying off really well for the time being and that could cause him some votes there is no denying that, maybe he will lose next elections if things go like this and maybe if he loses and someone else comes, they will sell off with a loss and get out, I do not know. But I am 100% certain that there is a good amount of people who loved this news because we have seen a president of a nation got into crypto with the money he made from the taxes that citizens paid. This is why I believe that this is such a great situation to be in.

I believe that the best thing we could do right now would be supporting them, and helping people understand that the drop is a short term one and president still did something good for the future of his nation, not gonna work today, but will be beneficial for all El Salvador in the future.
985  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A season for stop loss on: June 26, 2022, 09:24:20 PM
Without a doubt they should be aware of what they are doing and the consequences of using such a massive amount of leverage and lose a trade without a stop loss, and yet despite knowing the consequences of their actions a lot of people still decide to use that tactic and then they lose a massive amount of money, and the reason is simple they only think of all the money they will earn and not even once they think about the money they could lose, which without a doubt it is a critical mistake.
There are too many people who do not know the benefits they have when they are doing a leverage trading. They are using something that will allow them to make more money than what they could afford and that is the reason why most people use leverage, and the benefit of it is still beyond them. Look, you could turn your 1k into 10k if you wait long enough and if you have a high leverage and that is understandable and I understand that some people may enjoy that and it's fine.

But the reality is that, people who are veterans do not turn their 1k into 10k with leverage, they turn their 1k to 1.1k and they get out. Because, it is much easier to do that, with high leverage, your 10 dollar profit could become 100 dollar profit and you could keep doing that constantly many times inside just one day and you could make a killing out of that for sure without a problem at all.
986  Economy / Economics / Re: Things are easy to understood now on: June 26, 2022, 08:26:08 PM
Printing more fiat is a call for rapid inflation. Real estate value and other commodities will skyrocket shooting towards the moon. Printing more money will make the general supply higher than its available demands and devaluating the printed currency in the foreign exchange market. The government should instead adopt Bitcoin and save the economy from future hikes and instability
Even though you are right, there isn't any people who will stop doing that, and all governments will keep on doing that whenever they have to. Of course it is not going to be something simple, and of course it is going to impact the world, and inflation will go up, but printing is something nations have done forever and they will keep doing that.

Maybe not as radical as they did during the pandemic period because during those periods we had a situation where nobody really worked, no people, no companies, only a few places, and the governments had to print money and distribute that, which caused inflation but at the same time it wasn't really that much of a problem since that was the only way out. Hope that won't be repeated again.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Be careful buying alts right now on: June 26, 2022, 07:47:11 PM
For now we really have to be careful in investing because the market situation is not completely stable, so don't expect the decline when it is at the lowest point and I believe that large dumps will occur again and this will last a very long time as it has happened in the previous year, so to invest you must be ready to bear every risk that exists, but it would be nice for us to monitor the development first for the next.
I am not sure if "large" dumps could occur again. I get that there could be some drops, there is no denying that and I have to say that this is going to be something that is decent and go up soon, and I love that. But at the end off the day, it is not going to be something that is a huge dump, it is going to be something that is doing a bit weird if we see another 50% drop for example.

This is why we are going to have to accept the fact that bitcoin will be 15k+ for the remainder of the history, never go under that, not now, not in the future. Of course now is the closest, so if it ever happens that has to be now, after this, we will go up eventually to a new ATH and doubt we will ever drop here again.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 26, 2022, 07:18:51 PM
There are still rumours about Ronaldo that he would join Roma in the summer. Jose Mourinho is his old manager and maybe he would be eager to play under his management again. But I don't know how much Ronaldo would be interested in signing for Roma now. I still think that the possibility of staying at Manchester United is overhelming this rumour. Manchester United have a bigger potential than Roma actually as they have more qualified players in general. Maybe Ronaldo would want to stay for one more year rather than joining Roma now.
I don't think that Roma has money to recruit Ronaldo, it wouldn't be absolutely an easy operation. Ronaldo engagement is really high for Roma, so I think that he

will end his career in Man Utd, there are only few team that can afford him. (imagine if PSG will brought him to its team, Messi and Ronaldo will play together  Grin)
Even with conference cup, they do not have that kind of cash to pay his salary. Would it be making it back with jersey sales? Probably, I mean united made 5x more than his salary when he joined but I doubt Roma would have that kind of cash, which means that he would at least break even. But in order to do that, they would need to both transfer him which means paying United, but also pay his salary.

Both of which would be hard deals and I would guess that it can' be an easy job to get him. Plus, I really doubt that he would want to join, just because Mourinho is there, he would need a lot better reasoning than that, United at least could become a UCL level team this year.
989  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to avoid crippling losses when trading? on: June 26, 2022, 10:24:33 AM
People especially newbie ignore this stuff. Their goal is to have huge profit so they often tend to risk a huge percentage of their portfolio. They don't think about any risk and just think of the outcome if the market favors their side. They will just realize their mistake when their portfolio is more than 50% down.

Learning those strategies requires strong discipline to control their emotion which is the most important for me to avoid huge loss in trading. Even experts sometimes forget their trading strategy because of greed.
That type of struck and "do not get out of your way for no reason" mindset is not an easy one, of course it is not impossible but it is not an easy one neither, that takes a while for most people and we should not be hoping for something like that anytime soon neither.

I believe that the best thing we could do is learning how to make mistakes, and learning why we made those mistakes and then trying to make those mistakes again. I know that it is not going to be a simple thing to just go out and make mistakes because it is our money we are talking about if we lose, but without that, we are going to just try to profit and involuntarily make mistakes which will be much worse.
990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 25, 2022, 08:56:43 PM
I would say the "legend status" is a little bit overused at Anfield Smiley But it is because Klopp has a pretty strong character and he doesn't talk bad about any player when they leave. He even fiercely protected Karius back at the time when he failed twice big time in the CL final against Madrid.

I think that is a good way to behave. Soccer is business after all and everyone involved should know that.

Think about the new contract of Mbappe in Paris: everyone was screaming at him because he didn't go to Real Madrid. But let's be real, if someone puts a case with 300 million just as a signing fee in front of your eyes, what would you do?

So Origi is indeed an interesting player as he has good statistics in terms time played : scorer points ratio. He can definitely be a good addition to any team. Coming to another club with a "legend status" can't hurt Wink
Seriously, Origi is definitely not a "legend" in Liverpool at all, he was not even like used as a starter most of the time, he was only there for replacing players that needed resting, and even during a brief period when he was really good, that wasn't really a legend deal at all. In the end, there is just one name I can think of that became a real legend and will stay a legend unless something marginal happens and that is Salah.

Even after Mane left, Salah is still there and if he stays there for a few more years, then he will become a club legend for sure. It's going to be probably a hard thing to become a club legend if you are a player of Klopp, because he likes to get players for rotation and change the line up constantly.
991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 25, 2022, 08:20:31 PM
As far as I know Barcelona is planning on selling some of their rights, can't recall exactly what that was about. I think some rights that entitle the buyer to their merchandise and Tv rights income or something? Anyway, it was said that that should bring about 700 million Euros. With that money, they could easily afford Lewandowksi and if that deal comes into existence, Bayern will also know about it Wink

I guess Lewandowski would be a good fit for Barcelona. Despite being a really typical offender, he also has the quality to hold, defend, and distribute the ball in a very smart and game opening way. That fits Barcelona's style well although they are already quite different from what they are used to be years ago in terms of ball possession.
I still think that Lewandowski would be a bad decision for Barcelona. Not that he is not a great player, he is an unbelievable player, but they need to get some younger players for the future, they are known to be a team that can find players from youth and they did it again, now filled the rest of the field with younger players from other teams and they should be fine.

Unfortunately because of horrible transfers they had for a long time, and maybe some other business reasons, they ended up with so much debt that they shouldn't be getting 35 year old Lewa to play for that position, they should find someone 25 or younger and make them play for 10 years and not need another transfer again soon.
992  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do real traders care about bear & bull market? on: June 25, 2022, 08:45:54 AM
If you are a professional trader you will still be making money whenever their is bear market, you can short a coin which you will still be making money as the coin is dumping, also you can be a day trader, like what have been happening with few days bitcon have been around $19k-$21k, a professional trader can still make money by following bitcoin movement, but not everybody understands it and if you are not careful you might endup losing money, only professionals can do that.
At this time there is no guarantee for any kind of trader to make easy money. Fomo is on and that has a lot of carefulness to exhibit. Again to the extent that traders are expecting a bull and keeping an eye on it in making order but the price keep going down within $19k and $21k as you said. I think a little more force or hype is what the price is waiting to pick direction.
It's going to be pretty easy for most traders to make money when the price really starts to skyrocket. It is not going to happen today or tomorrow, but it will definitely be something that will change the way traders work. When it is the bear market it is not going to be easy to make a profit, maybe some sort of find the little upticks that happens here and there, but it's hard, or you do shorting and that's even harder.

But with the bull run, you buy something, it goes up, you sell it, buy another thing, that goes up, you sell it and you repeat that like a hundred times and that's how you make a profit. It's not going to be easy, but it is not going to be impossible neither during the bull run.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 24, 2022, 09:21:48 PM
Barcelona seem to be interested in Raheem Sterling and Jules Kounde both now. They are already chasing the Lewandowski deal for themselves so I wonder how they are planning to afford all of these three players. Because it doesn't seem very realistic to me that they can sign all of them while they are in a financial condition like this. Lewandowski must be their priority now as we have been hearing about him the most recently. As long as they don't sell a player who is worth a lot of money they shouldn't be able to allocate much fund for many transfers.
Xavi Hernandez from the time at Saudi Arabia has sight on Raheem Sterling if he finally becomes Barcelona Coach. Finally this might finally come to conclusion. One fear is that, you will rarely see an English Born player making swoop to Spanish La Liga, when was the last time you saw such a thing ? David Beckham! Right ? Sterling should be looking for a move somewhere else because he will have little game or nothing at all this time in the new season.
I think it is not just about where you are from, but how you could play, I believe that Sterling could have all the talent he needs and all the method he wants to play which will result with him playing well in Barcelona. Sure maybe English players do not bode well in la liga, but how many great English players do you remember in bundesliga? ligue 1? serie a?

English players are getting paid a huge amount in premier league already, so they rarely ever have a feeling of leaving that nation and going to another league. It does happen, but it doesn't happen all that frequently and I believe that sterling could be an exception that could play very well there.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 24, 2022, 08:18:33 PM
The weather conditions would really be tough in Qatar if they played in the summer or right after it ends. They made the right decision by carrying the tournament to November. But this has some negatives sides over the players too of course. Because its being played in November will force the leagues to have a huge break. This can cause their schedules to be much tighter after the World Cup ends. I still sometimes question whether it was necessary to have a World Cup in Qatar.
An entirely new taste awaits for us! However, the 2022 FIFA World Cup will begin in mid-November, forcing leagues to adjust schedules! The game would be better off if it were to start in mid-August, with only tough weather conditions as a barrier. It should not have a significant impact on a league, but make the most of the increased interest. Even though it affects the 2022-23 season, it doesn't seem that the league is as disorganized as forever.
I still think that this is the worst world cup in history probably. I do not know the history of world cup all that much, maybe I am wrong and maybe there could have been some worse before but it feels like there hasn't been anything as worst as this one.

This is why I believe that the best thing to do right now is wait for it to pass, and just accept the fact that it will be a terrible one. Hell people are issuing warnings to not even go there, seriously think about a nation where world cup is held and there are organizations that warn Europeans and basically all foreigners to not go there because something terrible may happen to them. Bribery really destroyed the world of football, and I hope this never happens again.
995  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think the market will take to recover? on: June 24, 2022, 06:38:38 PM
We are still in bear and this is my opinion. So it's better to thread with caution and see how things unfold. Don't be in a hurry to buy so that you won't exhaust your funds even if you want to DCA before market finally reverses.
Of course, the best time to buy coins will be purchase, after confirming the market reversal. Of course, in this case, your average price will be higher than if you bought coins at the very bottom, but such a purchase will be safer for your budget. And it should be remembered that almost no one can buy coins at the lowest price, just like selling at high.
Safer, but still undecided because you have no idea if the "upwards" movement you see, will be the start of a bull run, or a dead cat bounce. This is why it is always better to buy when it looks like it bottomed out, if you are wrong then you can buy some more later on when it drops further, do not use all of your money to buy once, hence how you could be safe from the current situation.

What I really would love to see right now would be to go down a bit further, I know that sounds weird because I have bitcoins, but that means the price would finally get to a level where we get rid of all the sellers, and only the diamond hands would stay and we can go up easier after that.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: June 24, 2022, 05:45:25 PM
If we look at the $ value yes there's an impact on it but if you still see it as 1:1 in crypto volume and just think that its just a paper loss well this cannot affect the gamblers if they not sell their bitcoins then they just continue to play their games. But not everyone are totally okay with this because as you said not everyone doesn't have capabilities to spend more also not everyone can't able to see how the value of their coins collapsed in value.
Crypto gambling certainly doesn't affect many gamblers. as long as the balance of the crypto assets stored will remain the same in amount, they can still bet regardless of the value of the assets they bet on.
but when they run out of crypto assets and buy crypto to play in casinos, of course, it affects the finances of gamblers. it's the same when you want to make a withdrawal because the asset value is not as big as when you were at the casino.
I think it is still impacted when the prices change and they have amount in their wallets. I mean think about it, if you have 1000 dollars to gamble, and it drops to 500 dollars, how could you not feel impacted by something like that? I personally feel like I am impacted for sure. Doesn't mean that I will make grand moves just because of it, but I would definitely feel upset about it.

If you are dealing with stablecoins then I would understand not getting worried, but gambling with a lot less fiat because your crypto went down is a big deal. Same happens when it goes up, when your deposit becomes a huge amount because of the increase, you start to reconsider betting that away.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 23, 2022, 09:01:51 PM
If Senegal can do much in their first game then I have more confidence in them in the next. Because the first match is important to increase their confidence. Moreover, they definitely want to show their best and don't want to be just a complementary country in this biggest football party. I haven't seen a country that really stands out for now. I think their strength can be said to be almost balanced.
I would understand Senegal in the sense that they came out of Africa with "ease", sure they had some difficulties in few of the games but it wasn't really that much of a shock for them to win it and get here. All in all, I am guessing that they will play the same way against most European and other continent teams as well, there are a few teams which are really above them easily, England France Germany etc etc but that doesn't mean that they will lose against others.

I would wager that they would see semi-finals if they have a good draw, if they face all the best teams of the tournament then they will probably lose, but if they have good luck and play easier opponents, they have a pretty good chance.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 23, 2022, 09:48:37 AM
It was reported by Voetbal International that Dortmund would soon bring in Sebastien Haller from Ajax, after Dortmund agreed to a transfer fee requested by Ajax of 35 million euros. Even though Haller played badly for West Ham, but when he moved to Ajax in January 2021, Haller's appearance changed drastically, he was very productive with Ajax. Sebastien Haller became the Eredivisie's top scorer for the 2021/2022 season by scoring 21 goals. Haller is also very productive in the Champions League competition by scoring 11 goals in 8 matches.
It is such a weird thing that Dortmund has to pay 35 million for Haller, whereas Bayern paid 18-19 million for Ryan. If you asked me, I would say Ryan was much much better player, he is a young superstar in the making and with a team like Bayern, he is going to shine even further, there is a chance he could even be bought by a bigger club in a few years as well, like paid 100 million or something.

Same club as well, they are both coming from Ajax, to a team in bundesliga. In any case, I do not think that this is a great deal for Dortmund, they are not going to get 35 million out of Haller, he is going to be fine, but they could have spent that money better.
999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran to cut electricity to licenced Miners on: June 22, 2022, 09:02:23 PM
The news might be deemed negatively though but I think we've probably already lost most of the weak hands from the market anyway so something like this would probably go unnoticed. A large(ish) move in the price is probably due by now too so I doubt we'll be able to pick this out as a specific.
Yeah, there's too much going on right now, to deem anything as causation. Even if we could it pick out things, we wouldn't be able to narrow it down, and with confidence say x, and y caused the drop. I imagine Bitcoin will hang around the current price for a while, at least within a few thousand of the current price. 5% can be deemed quite a lot in certain things, but for a drop in the mining share, probably isn't a massive problem, especially in the long run.
I would say this was definitely not the cause though. I mean FED increasing the rates literally caused people to withdraw billions of dollars from crypto easily, how could Iran cutting electricity to miners would have the same impact as that? I am not saying FED is the main reason, but there were pretty big things compared to what Iran did.

We are in a free market where the price only drops when people sell, there is no outer reason for it, there is no crash that is forced by anything, it is just us selling and that's it. It means that whatever is the reason why people sold, that is their business and only they would know, everyone could have a different reason.
1000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Mantra After, while playing And Before You Gamble on: June 22, 2022, 07:11:24 PM
Controlling emotions is the toughest thing that someone should really enhance and this could be done via real experience and able to mold yourself to become a better person in terms of control and awareness of things. It is just there are people who do really have some beliefs before they do play and do really anticipate or expect that it could really work but once they do see or experience the real thing then this is the time they would be saying that there's nothing works in gambling or assuring outcome or positive results
It's not that easy, sometimes you could be a veteran gambler who rarely ever let their emotions take over, they are so veteran that it's like a business to them and they never get out of their strategy. But, even those people sometimes make mistakes because of being provoked or something, it just happens and it could happen to newbies a lot more of course.

Experience brings a lot of things, specially teaching you how to be and allowing you to practice being like that for a long time so that you could get a lot better. But in the end, if you are not going to leave, then all lose money in gambling, veteran or not, since house always wins and house edge makes sure of that.
