981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use multiple platforms for betting? on: November 02, 2023, 10:14:52 AM
Having the best odds doesn’t guarantee you a safe win in contrary to what you said. Most of the user use multiple platform for betting is due to the bonuses given by the certain sportsbook. Different sportsbook usually give unique promotion on different date so having account in different platform will give you an option to participate on promotion of different casino.
I am using two sport betting sites, the first one because it has a good easy to use site, but the reward they give is not good to the second gambling site. The second site always give me bonus and if I win 3 odds, I can withdraw the bonus. It is a local betting site and the reason I still use it today. But I like the first one which is a foreign becuase it is better to work with and it gives me the live matches to bet in a way that I prefer more. It is not always about the odds, you are right.
982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "change password frequently" on: November 01, 2023, 12:45:03 PM
Why asking this question? You can do whatever with your password. If you like, use a strong password and do not change it. If you like, change it periodically.

It is good to stake your bitcoin address for account ownership claiming. This is what that is most important to me.

One of the reason of changing your password regularly doesn’t necessarily mean to avoid getting hack but you might also forget it
You can backup the password on a book offline. There is also email for recovery. If you do not backup the new password, you can also forget it.
983  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Does Faucet give real bitcoins every few hours? on: November 01, 2023, 07:59:02 AM
So in a few hours the faucet will give us a very small amount of free bitcoins. The question is, is it real bitcoin? or is it just fake bitcoins and when we have met the minimum withdrawal limit, they just send real bitcoins to our withdrawal wallet address?

I think it's fake bitcoin, because on the faucet we only get 0.0000006 while the transaction fees are more expensive than that. So the small amount given by the faucet is fake bitcoin?
It is not fake, but it is just a waste of time.

If faucet give you 6 satoshi every hour, that is 0.00000144 BTC in a day, which is $0.0504 in a day if bitcoin is $35000. Can you see that yourself that it is an absolute waste of time. You will have to wait long before you can be able to reach the minimum withdrawal. But some people are patient, have no work, but able to have several accounts with different IPs for just to turn the small amount of bitcoin to something big. As for me, I see it as a waste of time and energy.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 01, 2023, 07:49:34 AM
Did not see this one coming but sure.
It can improve your mood till you keep winning, thats for sure. That can change real quick tho
Im not so sure about relieveing stress. That migth be true for a few, but im pretty sure its not the case for the majority of players.
It can help with self control and managing risk, sure, that is certainly a possibility.
If someone is gambling in a responsible way it supposed to be gambling, it can help the person. Gambling is fun. Anything fun has health benefits. So the health benefits gambling can have on people with responsible gambling habit is far more than what is in the OP. But some people are just using gambling to look for money. Such people do not have fun and if they are losing, gambling does more harm to them.
985  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk: Error 504: Gateway time-out AGAIN on: November 01, 2023, 07:07:48 AM
Is everyone experiencing this error too?
Is this also the same error as yesterday?
If you see error 504, it means that the site is not working. It means that everyone that wants to connect to that site will not be able to but getting the error.

This error is very common on this forum but not taking long. Yes it is the last error that makes people not able to access Bitcointalk but also just for a short time.
986  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoinica Theft with unusual transaction to Theymos. on: October 31, 2023, 08:52:49 PM
The video is not recently but was 8 years ago.

In the video, he said theymos is the owner of Bitcointalk. The founder of bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto is the owner of Bitcointalk while theymos is the admin.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this how it start? (No or yes?) on: October 31, 2023, 06:36:51 PM
To answer the question with regards ri addiction then it is obviously not. Having feelings of regret after losing is a common experience to gamblers. Best way to start is to simply set the right mindset; losing should be always expected in order to avoid being exaggerated once you’ve lost an amount you have invested. Just keep in mind how gambling works in any platform or industry
Gambling is not an investment, people should not see gambling like that. But you are right that any money sent to the gambling site account should be considered as lost because it can definitely be lost. If I bet with $20 on a gambling site and I lost all at once, I will just quit gambling for that day. If it is all my weekly budget that I used, I will quit gambling for that week until the following week.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most you have ever lost in one session? on: October 31, 2023, 04:29:49 PM
It's not that I doubt that you really lose that amount but why not post a screenshot of that amount and just hide sensitive information
You are not wrong, anybody can come up with the idea that he lost an amount of money but which could be a lie, but with evidence like a screenshot, we can believe to some level. But do not always believe what you see on screenshot because it can be edited and fake.

That $200k is so huge to lose I don't know your location or financial capability but with that $200k you could live like a rich man in a third-world country where everything is cheap.
In a third world country? You can live like a rich man in any country in this world if you have that amount of money. If you are in a third world country, not that you can live like a rich man but you are a very rich man if you have that huge amount of money.
989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Spot Bitcoin ETF also favor the SEC? on: October 31, 2023, 04:05:34 PM
It is against governmental benefits and they also see Bitcoin as one of threats for their centralized bank system so your point here is wrong.
So why would the government allowed it to be approved?

If bitcoin spot ETF is approved, it is just a way to draw bitcoin closer for the government to be able to tax bitcoin (ETF) users.

See people seeing bitcoin more as investment and for trading. You can see El Salvador that legalized bitcoin, it can be used for payment of goods, services and salaries and businesses can accept it, but why more than 95% of El Salvadorans are still having USD in savings if compared to bitcoin. Bitcoin is not a threat to fiat.

You are not getting it from tranthidung perspective, the government sees it as a threat because with bitcoin people will have freedom to actually do things freely with their money, like cross border transactions without having to pass through the hassle of banks to change from currency to another which benefits the banks. With bitcoin many people can go into total anonymity of their funds without the preying eyes of the government.
But without the bitcoin spot ETF, people have been using bitcoin for cross border transactions since it was created.

With bitcoin spot ETF,  bitcoin ETF in the traditional market can not be used for something like that because regulation will make it not possible. Bitcoin spot ETF will only benefit the government more to track people and tax them.
990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Happy Birthday, Bitcoin! Understanding the bitcoin whitepaper with Jameson Lopp on: October 31, 2023, 12:04:02 PM
I saw this today, that today marks the 15th anniversary of the bitcoin whitepaper, a nine-page document that kickstarted the age of bitcoin.

Quote
When Satoshi released the whitepaper on Oct. 31, 2008, it didn't seem like much. At first, the paper was distributed to a mailing list of cypherpunks, but it unveiled the concept of bitcoin to the world for the first time. The paper describes technical concepts such as Proof of Work and the Merkle Tree, and it gives us a glimpse into the problems that bitcoin addresses.

The bitcoin protocol would begin in earnest on Jan. 3, 2009 when Satoshi mined the first bitcoin block, also known as the genesis block. So, bitcoin has multiple birthdays — we wouldn't blame you if you celebrate year-round.

In the below Q&A, Jameson discusses why the whitepaper matters, the context from which it sprang, and even some things it got wrong.

https://blog.keys.casa/understanding-bitcoin-whitepaper/?utm_term=whitepaper-day&utm_campaign=security-briefing&utm_medium=email&utm_content=oct-31&utm_source=hubspot

I like the questions and answers. You can also read it.

992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: October 31, 2023, 09:51:20 AM
Yeah, same here. Just as I've mentioned in some of my other posts, I'm not really much of a gambler, so I don't know what it's like to become addicted. People who can control and manage their gambling don't seem like they'd become addicts. As you mentioned, when we bet on games and lose, sometimes we lose interest in playing at that moment. But for a gambler who's already addicted, they'll find themselves playing more and more, hoping or thinking that the next bet will be better than the previous ones.
People that are addicted in gambling thinks beyond next bet to be better. What they think more is that they can use gamble to earn often. That is why they will have a failed strategies and go for another one and fail and move to another one until they have several losses. One thing about people that are addicted to gambling is not only losses that makes them keep playing, if they are winnings they also keep playing until the day may not favour them.
993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Spot Bitcoin ETF also favor the SEC? on: October 31, 2023, 09:46:21 AM
I do not know about the SEC than for them to do their work and regulate securities and exchanges. But the United States government will gain more because spot bitcoin ETF would be a way bitcoin can be easily be taxed and this is what you have answered yourself in your post. The SEC are working for the government and the government would be favoured.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: October 31, 2023, 08:58:55 AM
I won’t consider this as an addiction; to me it just feels like you don’t know how to manage your funds when it comes to gambling and because of that you can just use any amount you like carelessly to gamble.
I am a gambler, I am able to manage my fund and I am able to know when to stop gambling and I will stop. This is what who is not an addict to gambling will do. But if someone is spending money on gambling too much and got to the level of spending all his savings. There is nothing that is much more qualifies for that than becoming addicted. Once you are spending more than the amount you plan to spend on gambling, that is becoming addiction, but not just addiction yet. If he stops, he is not addicted. But if he continues, that is addiction.
995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to value bitcoin and cryptocurrencies? on: October 30, 2023, 07:23:44 PM
Market Cap = Current Price x Circulating Supply

Price = Marketcap divided by Circulating supply.

If people buy more bitcoin, the market will increase, which is proportional to the price. Which means as people buy more bitcoin than selling it, the price will increase.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: October 30, 2023, 07:51:33 AM
Since there is no one available to him for counselling or for any advice and he will continue to gamble all day long or all time when he is alone and therefore he can easily become addicted.
Which means he has two problem:

The first problem is that he is addicted to gambling already and he needs to just quit. A friend that knows about how bad gambling addiction is can help. But if not helpful, going for rehabilitation would be helpful. But his friend can let him know that stopping the addiction comes from inside of the gamblers mind which is the first thing to do.

The second is that he really needs a girlfriend if he tries to settle things with this wife but his wife not accepting anymore. There are better women out there.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: October 30, 2023, 07:13:24 AM
As parents, they should avoid various gambling habits that they do because of course when they are old, it will no longer be easy for them to earn a steady income and if they still have a gambling habit, it will certainly be very difficult for them to be able to meet their needs. their daily lives and also they have responsibilities towards their families.
People are different, some people earn more even as they are old. If not earning money again, they should stop gambling is the best. But their are easy ways old men that work for their future still earn money. Some also invested on their children in a way their children will also appreciate which can lead to weekly income from children, but people should not depend on that.

For those who are old and still have the habit of gambling, it is certainly not good for their health because if they experience emotions it will certainly be problematic for their health and this is not what everyone wants.
Gambling is not good for anyone's health if they are using huge amount of money, but for someone that knows about this and only using very little amount, there is nothing bad about it. But for someone that can not control their gambling addiction, or someone that is not able to use small amount of money for gambling, it is not about age, the person should stop gambling and look for fun in areas that are not related to gambling.
998  Economy / Economics / Re: choose an option on: October 30, 2023, 01:12:28 AM
c. $480,000 of bitcoin at(~$24k/btc buy price recent months allocated to the donator) 20btc
This is what I will pick.

I can not choose gold because despite that it is a store of value, it is not looking more as an investment becuase of its low ROI. For business, I can wait and later establish a business for myself, but I may choose business if the ROI is high. I can not choose a house. I can not choose lottery win.

I will choose bitcoin because of the coming 5x pump that will not take more than 2 years before it would have occured. Bitcoin may even go more than 5x. That is $2.4 million before the end of 2025.

Some people may choose business.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $50,000 betting goal by 2024. Share Your Thoughts With Me. on: October 29, 2023, 08:01:14 PM
My advice is, well, just be on yourself as a bettor. Be wise in choosing odds and don't jump betting on the matches you are not familiar with.
I only see him as someone that is getting overconfidence about his gambling and he wants to increase his stakes and risk more than before. If gambling teaches him lesson after losing and not able to see his goal, he will realized that the way he is gambling before is better than the way he is gambling now.

Gambling suppose not to be a way of thinking of making money. This guy thinking is also the beginning of addiction.
I disagree. Sportebetting is huge. I don't mean that lots of people bet sports, but lots of people earn a decent wage betting sports. Making bets with knowledge is key. Don't just blindly place a bet or always pick the favorite.
I agree with this, but what I mean is that he had a better strategy when he is only betting in a way he thinks is responsibly, and if he change the way, it might lead to another thing for him. I have a friend that play bet and win often until he thinks of using bigger amount of money and the loss started at the time. What caused it was that he thought he can win bigger if he use bigger money but losses began. What he later did was that he quit gambling. It would have been better if he continued to play little and accumulate 5 to 10x odds with several many bets with small stakes, but it was not enough for him.

If I am not wrong you can clone any app using app clone and if it's not possible via the default clone app from the device manufacturer then try using ones from the Play Store.
Social media apps are the one that I saw. My phone have a better way which I explained above. With my phone, you can setup many users and each will act individually with different apps, files and contacts. This is better and private than app twin.

The ones I have tried before on app store have ads, I hate ads and it can lead to scam and misuse of my private information. Most apps are free because they are embedded with ads. Who wants to avoid malware should also avoid ads.
