981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Spot Bitcoin ETF also favor the SEC? on: October 31, 2023, 09:46:21 AM
I do not know about the SEC than for them to do their work and regulate securities and exchanges. But the United States government will gain more because spot bitcoin ETF would be a way bitcoin can be easily be taxed and this is what you have answered yourself in your post. The SEC are working for the government and the government would be favoured.
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: October 31, 2023, 08:58:55 AM
I won’t consider this as an addiction; to me it just feels like you don’t know how to manage your funds when it comes to gambling and because of that you can just use any amount you like carelessly to gamble.
I am a gambler, I am able to manage my fund and I am able to know when to stop gambling and I will stop. This is what who is not an addict to gambling will do. But if someone is spending money on gambling too much and got to the level of spending all his savings. There is nothing that is much more qualifies for that than becoming addicted. Once you are spending more than the amount you plan to spend on gambling, that is becoming addiction, but not just addiction yet. If he stops, he is not addicted. But if he continues, that is addiction.
983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to value bitcoin and cryptocurrencies? on: October 30, 2023, 07:23:44 PM
Market Cap = Current Price x Circulating Supply

Price = Marketcap divided by Circulating supply.

If people buy more bitcoin, the market will increase, which is proportional to the price. Which means as people buy more bitcoin than selling it, the price will increase.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: October 30, 2023, 07:51:33 AM
Since there is no one available to him for counselling or for any advice and he will continue to gamble all day long or all time when he is alone and therefore he can easily become addicted.
Which means he has two problem:

The first problem is that he is addicted to gambling already and he needs to just quit. A friend that knows about how bad gambling addiction is can help. But if not helpful, going for rehabilitation would be helpful. But his friend can let him know that stopping the addiction comes from inside of the gamblers mind which is the first thing to do.

The second is that he really needs a girlfriend if he tries to settle things with this wife but his wife not accepting anymore. There are better women out there.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: October 30, 2023, 07:13:24 AM
As parents, they should avoid various gambling habits that they do because of course when they are old, it will no longer be easy for them to earn a steady income and if they still have a gambling habit, it will certainly be very difficult for them to be able to meet their needs. their daily lives and also they have responsibilities towards their families.
People are different, some people earn more even as they are old. If not earning money again, they should stop gambling is the best. But their are easy ways old men that work for their future still earn money. Some also invested on their children in a way their children will also appreciate which can lead to weekly income from children, but people should not depend on that.

For those who are old and still have the habit of gambling, it is certainly not good for their health because if they experience emotions it will certainly be problematic for their health and this is not what everyone wants.
Gambling is not good for anyone's health if they are using huge amount of money, but for someone that knows about this and only using very little amount, there is nothing bad about it. But for someone that can not control their gambling addiction, or someone that is not able to use small amount of money for gambling, it is not about age, the person should stop gambling and look for fun in areas that are not related to gambling.

c. $480,000 of bitcoin at(~$24k/btc buy price recent months allocated to the donator) 20btc
This is what I will pick.

I can not choose gold because despite that it is a store of value, it is not looking more as an investment becuase of its low ROI. For business, I can wait and later establish a business for myself, but I may choose business if the ROI is high. I can not choose a house. I can not choose lottery win.

I will choose bitcoin because of the coming 5x pump that will not take more than 2 years before it would have occured. Bitcoin may even go more than 5x. That is $2.4 million before the end of 2025.

Some people may choose business.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $50,000 betting goal by 2024. Share Your Thoughts With Me. on: October 29, 2023, 08:01:14 PM
My advice is, well, just be on yourself as a bettor. Be wise in choosing odds and don't jump betting on the matches you are not familiar with.
I only see him as someone that is getting overconfidence about his gambling and he wants to increase his stakes and risk more than before. If gambling teaches him lesson after losing and not able to see his goal, he will realized that the way he is gambling before is better than the way he is gambling now.

Gambling suppose not to be a way of thinking of making money. This guy thinking is also the beginning of addiction.
I disagree. Sportebetting is huge. I don't mean that lots of people bet sports, but lots of people earn a decent wage betting sports. Making bets with knowledge is key. Don't just blindly place a bet or always pick the favorite.
I agree with this, but what I mean is that he had a better strategy when he is only betting in a way he thinks is responsibly, and if he change the way, it might lead to another thing for him. I have a friend that play bet and win often until he thinks of using bigger amount of money and the loss started at the time. What caused it was that he thought he can win bigger if he use bigger money but losses began. What he later did was that he quit gambling. It would have been better if he continued to play little and accumulate 5 to 10x odds with several many bets with small stakes, but it was not enough for him.
988  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Samourai wallet question on: October 29, 2023, 04:10:49 PM
If I am not wrong you can clone any app using app clone and if it's not possible via the default clone app from the device manufacturer then try using ones from the Play Store.
Social media apps are the one that I saw. My phone have a better way which I explained above. With my phone, you can setup many users and each will act individually with different apps, files and contacts. This is better and private than app twin.

The ones I have tried before on app store have ads, I hate ads and it can lead to scam and misuse of my private information. Most apps are free because they are embedded with ads. Who wants to avoid malware should also avoid ads.
989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Samourai wallet question on: October 29, 2023, 03:32:21 PM
Which phone are you using though? Maybe you can use "Dual apps" and run a new instance of the wallet instead. I tried doing that with other wallets before, and it works fine.
I am using Android 13 but the phone is only support app twin for social media sites like Facebook, Twitter...

But the phone is having a better feature in a way that you can have multiple users. With multiple users, you can have another user or more with different contacts, files and others apps included just like new phone. With it I can run Samourai as a new app like a new phone but on the same old phone.

I just ask this question to know how true it is that Samourai is not having a way of creating more than one wallet.

991  Economy / Economics / Re: War and property mortgage you still need to pay If war destroy your Property on: October 29, 2023, 03:14:54 PM
It is good to diversify, you can not invest all on  bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies. If you are in a country that has no war, or if war begin, that if war will not likely be in the place that you are located, there is nothing not good about it if you buy or invest in real estate there. Your advice is good, but there are many successful people that have physical properties. As for myself, I will diversify.
992  Other / Beginners & Help / Samourai wallet question on: October 29, 2023, 03:09:12 PM
I like Samourai wallet, it is one of the best bitcoin mobile wallets that I have used. It has the necessary things that a bitcoin wallet can have like RBF, coin control, CPFP and able to spend unconfirmed coins. It also has coinjoin called whirlpool. I like the wallet. I want to create another wallet on Samourai which I want to name wallet_2 but I have been unable to do that.

How can I create another wallet with another seed phrase on Samourai wallet?

994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: October 29, 2023, 02:52:25 PM
In my opinion, the development of the cryptocurrency world would slow down if there were no altcoins. Why is that? because altcoins also help promote the concept of blockchain and cryptocurrency, whether they admit it or not, altcoins have contributed to the popularity of bitcoin
What that led to more scam. If there is only bitcoin, scam would have reduced because their will be nothing like DeFi and DAO scam, there would be nothing like bump and dump schemes which are the modernized ponzi schemes of today that government are not able to do anything about it. There will not be anything like fake project and failed project of new coins. If there is only bitcoin existing, scam would have reduced but altcoins bring scam. If you think that I am not correct, go and read more about crypto scam and see how altcoins are responsible for more than 75% of crypto scam annually.
995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stainless steel or Titanium on: October 28, 2023, 07:35:39 PM
Another question is that I found out that Tungsten has the highest melting point of all metal on the periodic table, which is 3422 °C. Is this not the metal that supposed to be used for seed phrase backup? Or is it very expensive and not affordable?
o_e_l_e_o gave the same answer. I researched about it and I found it to be true. It can shatter upon impact and not recommended despite the high melting point.

What is your problem, let's say,  with stainless steel washers? They are relatively cheep and easy to work with.
My problem is that I want to know more about it as only stainless steel has been what people are saying on this forum but I noticed recently that titanium has a higher melting point than stainless steel and can be better, but according to what I have seen from what people are posting, stainless steel is still highly recommended, while titanium is also good.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you use your free bets to ensure result on: October 28, 2023, 03:57:21 PM
I am not a fan of getting bonuses from casinos because I believe it has restrictions to what you can do it and if you are lucky enough to make big winnings with it then you might be restricted from cashing out the funds because of the limit that is attached to bonus winnings. I have seen people that uses bonus to winner extremely large funds and they were not allowed to cash out the funds because of restrictions. It is better for us to use our deposited funds to play bets and if we are lucky enough, we can make big winnings which is going to count and withdrawable without no restrictions.
What I can say is that you can be reading the rules applied. Gambling sites have different rules about the first time free bet. The ones that I was able to win after reading the rules applied, I was able to withdraw my money. This has happened to me two or three times before. There are some that once I read the rules, I will not bother myself of using the free bet to gamble if the rules will only make the free bets to yield little or no return.
997  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a short term loan of 0.005 BTC on: October 28, 2023, 03:43:05 PM
first lesson of economics. if you need $160 but can get hold of $160 in 2 weeks. just wait 2 weeks and pay what you need with your own funds
I can not totally agree with this. There are some people that do not have savings and need emergency fund. The last time I borrowed money, not on this forum, I paid back the following day. It was not up to 24 hours. I did not bother a friend about it because I knew I will be able to pay back the loan easily with the profit. There are sometimes that someone will not have an option.

Although I am not saying OP that wants to borrow money is not looking for ways to scam.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you use your free bets to ensure result on: October 28, 2023, 03:30:01 PM
Trying to play it safe, but not 100%, you can still place bets that have a VERY high chance of happening, bets of 1.01 or 1.02 odds, in a soccer match for example when one team is winning 2x0 and the game is almost over
I have tried this many times before, but when the loss will come, it would be huge. I can never go for bets of 1.01 and 1.02 odds ever in my life. The chance of winning is high but it is stupidity. When the person lose money would be when he will know that. I prefer to go for high odd like 1.5 or more but not far from 2 odds if it sport. I will prefer casino than bookies is another thing.

hi need a short term loan of 0.005 btc.
will payit back , when i get paid from the campaign in 2 weeks.
help will be much appreciated
What is the username of your alt?

You will need to sign a message with the bitcoin address of your alt. I am talking about the bitcoin address that you staked or that you have used in a campaign.

Is this a altaccount of someone who will get paid for a campaign in two weeks?
Probably he is trolling is my guess.
1000  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Anyone use a COLDCARD hardware wallet? on: October 27, 2023, 07:03:21 AM
Yes. It is source verifiable. It is not open source.
I was thinking Coldcard is open source but it is not. I check this site that says their source code is reproducible: https://walletscrutiny.com/hardware/coldcardMk4/

Is reproducible does not mean it is open source or the site is not correct about it.
